PirateQuest: Chapter 2.3: Heads Will Roll Wf+6 285495

LAST TIME ON PIRATEQUEST

>Felfire and company infiltrated the city and ported everyone in, then split off to do some training on the ship.

>Sandor split off from the group to find Alys. He spent some time at the local academy honing his skills, now he's killing priests.
>Summer and Spring split off and went to go help people. Summer earned her cutie mark, now they're eating ice cream.
>Alys arrived at the Goldenblood Estate for a party she can't avoid to make a social misstep in.
>Chip and Rahjak were useless and didn't do anything at all, and decided to drink tea at Humble's house while discussing the finer points of eating rats. Chip was only being polite.

Felfire's Story
You're conversing with the Doctor when Abilio bursts in the door. "It's time to get back into the city. You can continue the training later. Everyone's gathered to start peeling this town from the inside."

Chip's Story
The Lieutenant comes in from the other room, shaking his head. "Alright. I just got an update from the Fullmaster. We're starting soon. New orders. Marsh? Go get that prissy unicorn and her bodyguard. Chip? You're to go out into the city and find those two unicorns. They've played long enough. And Smitts wanted me to tell you to look for two fillies, not a mother and child."

Sandor's Story
The guards approach the wreckage as ponies are still streaming out from underneath. Others attempt to hold up the wreckage of the wall so it won't crush those below. Rolling for guard perceptiveness. '1d10'

Alys's Story
The Goldenblood Estate gates close behind you as you make your way out. As lovely as it was to spend time among nobles, all good things must come to an end. You've got nothing else to do, really, when you're approached by Mellow Marsh, who you recognize as the duty officer from the Pillager's Fancy.

"Hope you had a lovely morning, m'dear, but it's time to get to work. Shall we?"

Summer and Spring Story
The ice cream beckons. But you still haven't selected a flavor.

Roll #1 6 = 6

Sylt 285509

>>285495
Neigh in surprise as Abilio bursts through, but jump off the seat and give him a salute.
"Coming!"
Turn to Doc.
"Will see you tomorrow seems! Sorry!"
Fly out and rejoin Abilio and the others.

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285510

>>285495
"Certainly"
follow him

Spring Water [Charlatan] 285512

>>285495
"Which flavor do you want, swee- sis!?"

Chip(DD Knight) 285525

Two fillies, oh my.
"So how do I go in? Do I need some disguise of some sort? And where do I start searching?" I approach the lietenant.

Wf+6 285526

>>285495
The guards approach Sandor slowly.

"What were you doing back there? I suppose you saw what caused the collapse?"

Roll for bluff.

There are groans from below the Church. It sounds like most of those below are still alive.

>>285510
He nods and leads you to the Mercantile District.

"I saw this debacle on the way to pick you up. Let's try to handle this with a little diplomacy. If we start a fight before the assault, the city will be at full strength."

He points at the guards questioning Sandor with a hoof.

>>285509
With a stomp of his hoof and a glow of his horn, Abilio quickly reopens a Tartarian Gate. Having a little experience under your belt, and following Abilio much more closely, you're able to quickly get through to Humble's house without incident. Pity you couldn't sightsee much this time, but you're sure that time will come.

You're in Humble's house. Only Humble and Lieutenant Sunnyskies are left here. You wonder where everyone went! Better start preparing your plan for when the rest return.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 285531

>>285512
"I don't know… there's just so many! Which ones do you think are good, mister Nurse?"

Sylt 285532

>>285526
"I bet Face is hitting on mares at the bar. Any of you seen him?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 285535

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285547

>>285526
approach the guards
"What's the meaning of this? Why are you assaulting my Personal Guard?"

Wf+6 285560

>>285525
He shakes his head. "Now that we're in the city, you shouldn't need a disguise, but a—"

Humble cuts him off. "I wanted to repay you for your earlier deed, Chip. I never forget a service. I made this for you."

She holds out a city ID. Looks like a perfect forgery. This should help you get through some otherwise sticky situations.

The Lieutenant continues with an annoyed look. "We think they're either in the Lower Class District or the Mercantile District, since we've looked here and they can't get with the snooty nobles. I'm betting on the shops. They hate our kind… outcasts, that is."

>>285532
>>285535
The Lieutenant nods. "Yeah, that sounds like him. You want to go get him? He's pretty much useless for anything but charm and looking pretty, but he can hold a sword… I guess."

>>285531
He thinks on it for a bit and replies hesitantly, "I like orange sherbert. Err — that doesn't sound very manly, does it? Ah, well."

>>285547
They take a look at your getup and whisper conspiratorially for a moment.

"You're coming from the party at the Lord-Mayor's place?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 285563

>>285560
"Everypony else left, I will need a partner to get that stuff done. Can you point me to him?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 285564

>>285560
I snicker
"That's okay. I think I'll take strawberry. It's been a while…"

285570

>>285560
"Of course I am, and I was expecting my accompanyment when I left! You better have a a good enough reason Before I have a talk with the Mayor about this!"
rolling for impact of my words

Roll #0 9 = 9

Wf+6 285573

>>285563
He shrugs. "If I had to bet, that lowlife is scumming the sleaziest bar in town to save time. I'd try the lower class district. I saw a bar on my way through."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 285577

>>285560
"Can I get a scoop of that and the poison joke ice cream? Or is that too much?…"
Is anything going on here or outside? '1d10'

Chip(DD Knight) 285578

>>285560
"Neat, lower class district or mercantile it is. " I smile with glee as I took the ID and read whats written on it.
I then look at them.
"I trust the plan is coming to fruition?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 285580

>>285573
"He could aim a little higher!"
Well I seriously have no saying on the matter.
Use his indications to find Face.

Sándor [Knight] 285586

"I was taking a leak. I did saw some drunkard before that."

They roll their eyes. They're pretty unconvinced.

>>285570
The guard captain comes over and they exchange whispers for a few moments, then they break up and the captain, an imposing earth pony easily a foot taller than everyone else present approaches you.

"Apologies for the trouble, My Lady. Try to keep him on a tighter leash. I'd hate to see your name damaged by further… ahem, relief on public property."

They let you off!

>>285580
You head into the lower class district, and find only one tavern. It doesn't take you long to find Face, making the rounds at the bar. He seems a little frustrated, though.

>>285577
He smiles and says that's fine. He quickly exchanges some bits and your mother soon has her strawberry, and you your poison joke. You can only imagine what will happen when you take the first bite. Roll for effect.

>>285578
He nods. "As well as it can be. I discussed some business to take care of before the attack with Felfire. You'll get a briefing when you return. Get a move on, private!"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 285608

>>285605
I scoop up some and eat it!

"Hey Wingpony, something on your mind?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 285610

>>285605
"Poison joke? Really?"
Roll my eyes and start licking my own icecream

Sándor [Knight] 285611

>>285605
"Can't a stallion piss where he wants, huh?"

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285612

>>285605
"Of course"
wait for them to leave, then head back to Mellows

THAT FUCKER SANDOR BETTER BE FOLLOWING

Chip(DD Knight) 285614

>>285605
I head out to the city.
Hmmm… perhaps lets start with the mercantile district and go look for those two.. whats their name? Ah Summer and Spring.

'1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

Wf+6 285639

>>285609
He gives you a half-hearted grin when you approach. "Ah, nothing. I came here to save time, but I think it's going to be a mulligan anyway. Normally I'm a pretty accepting guy in the bedroom, but most of these wenches seem pretty disease ridden or outright ugly. There is one mare here who has my eye, but I can't get hers for a second."

He points to an average looking mare in the corner booth enjoying a coffee. By comparison to the rest of the rabble here, though, she's essentially a goddess. Desperate times call for desperate measures?

>>285608
When you take your first bite, it seems to give you the opposite condition your mother has, and in a few seconds you look like a fully grown mare. Can a dead plant used as an ice cream flavor really have a sense of humor? The fact that your collar isn't changing size, though, is giving you a little bit of trouble breathing. Better take a sip of that antidote and move on to the next "joke".

>>285614
You blunder directly past the icecream shop. As you're walking by, you look in the windows just in time to see the transformed Summer. You briefly think that it looks like her, but then remember you're supposed to be looking for two fillies, not a filly and a full grown mare, so you keep walking.

You are definitely distracted by your search, though, and you immediately trip and fall face first into the fountain. Ouch.

>>285611
He gives you a look of disgust.

>>285612
The three of you head back to the Humble house. Everyone's gone except Abilio and Lieutenant Sunnyskies. They proceed to explain that there are a number of potential tasks on the table that can be completed before the assault begins to soften up the enemy, or to otherwise benefit the crew. They suggest you give a few a try, or regroup with Felfire in the bar. I'm not going to type out all the requests again.

"Dude this is filty.
I can get her out, kill her, ress her and have her ready before she can lose her warmth if you want. Much easier."

Those fags better be dead.

I scrunch
Oh ha ha. Very funny.
"Summer!"
Get that collar off! '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

Wf+6 285657

Without your collar, it doesn't give you a headache to think about removing the collar. Unfortunately your attempts to remove it only seem to be causing her more obstruction.

I'll take Slum Sorrows

Summer Seas [Cleric] 285661

I take a sip of the antidote.

I take another bite.

Acknowledging your assent, Ruxiang leaps down from the rafters. What was he doing up there?

"Good to know you know how to make money."

He slings a blade, still in sheathe, over his missing wing onto his back, then leads you out the front door of Humble's house.

"You sure you can handle Yakuza? They're professional criminals, not petty brigands. They took my wing."

>>285646
He scrunches. "That ruins the thrill of the chase! Not to mention I prefer my sex with the living, no offense."

>>285650
It's hard to tell from this distance. There are still injured ponies being pulled out by the watch, though.

>>285648
You recall that they're probably in a shop, but you can't imagine where to start. You try a few kid's shops, since you figure Summer would drag her mother there, but you can't seem to locate them…

"Meh, your dick, not mine. Want a hoof looking winning her over?"

Chip(DD Knight) 285694

The antidote quickly shrinks you back to your normal size, and without even waiting a beat, you take another big bite.

With a poof, you're replaced with a giant patchwork doll that is an exact replica of you… except with seams and button eyes.

The nurse yelps.

>>285683
Did you follow Alys or did you stay in the Merch District?

>>285685
He shrugs. "As there as we'll ever be." He nods at a few suited ponies.

"My plan is to go in and break the vault while you gamble a little. Throw a little money around. Act like a high roller."

He throws a sack of bits at you. "Pull it off and we both walk out rich. If I set off an alarm, we may have to fight our way out, so be ready."

>>285693
He gives you a grin. "I don't much think I'd like to see your dick. But alright. You got any ideas? I've pretty much gone through my playbook. Pitch me some, then I'll go test the waters and see what the results are."

>>285694
You try to search the area, but you get distracted as a class of little fillies walks by on their way to daycare. You convince yourself you're just looking them over to make sure that the two unicorns aren't among them.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 285705

>>285701
I gasp
"Oh no! Are you alright!?"

Chip(DD Knight) 285722

Perhaps they are not here.
Head for the Lower class district and look for them. All the while asking somepony and giving desdcription if they saw two unicorns.

Oh no… this is not fun at all!
I try to do any kind of communication I can to get someone to help me. '1d10'

I SAVED YOUR SORRY ASS YOU WORTHLESS FUCK

Wf+6 285739

>>285705
The nurse puts his hoof on the doll and shakes it.

"Is she — conscious? What should we do?"

He starts to panic a little.

>>285709
You take a look around. There are slots, but those seem low-key. Plenty of card tables. The payout is lower, but you can chat up the other players, which might draw attention, plus they could be watching for card counters. Then there are the true gambles like craps and the big six wheel, which could cause a stir if you win.

>>285725
She definitely was there. She got you out of the trouble, remember?

>>285711
He gives it a chance and struts over. You see a short exchange, and she rolls her eyes. He comes back with a shrug.

>>285722
You try to leave the district, but on your way out, a goat stops you.

"Hey… haven't I seen you before?"

>>285731
You're functionally helpless. Gagged and unable to move.

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285746

>>285739
lets go for the craps

But honestly, laugh my ass off as he comes back.
"But that took guts!"

He puts a hoof on your shoulder and stops you, then spins you around before you can react.

"I do know you! Why don't you and I go somewhere a little quieter — unless you want to get the guards involved? I'd rather have the glory all to myself. And hey, you might have a chance at fighting back if I'm all by my lonesome."

>>285751
>poison joke ice
I am assuming you mean the antidote for your benefit.
In an instant, after merely fewest drips have flowed into her cloth mouth, she's popped back to normal. Whew!

>>285757
She's blushing furiously through her book, reading a lone in the corner.

He rubs his mane sheepishly. "I thought it was worth a try!"

>>285746
>>285753
You approach the table. You see a few ponies going at it, but most of them are having awful luck and everyone's losing money. The dice look extremely sharply angled. This is probably the most legitimate game in the whole establishment.

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285791

>>285781
how unfortunate.
"How much to get in?"

He puffs out his chest proudly. "They call me Kidd. Hunter Kidd if you like. Everypony — er seadog — should know the name of their slayer, I imagine."

You have never heard of this guy before in your life, and you consider yourself at least reasonably traveled. Not only have you never seen him before, you're pretty sure you've never even come into contact with other people that know him.

>>285796
No one seems to be cheating. This seems to be the most legitimate game here.

>>285798
You take one last bite and for a half-instant, your horn is gone, and on your back are a beautiful pair of pegasus wings. It only lasts for an instant, though, before your mother

>>285801
Pours the rest of the antidote down your throat. Looks like with that much in your system, you wouldn't get any changes out of the ice cream even if you dug it out of the trash.

The banker shakes his head. "No table min."

Felfire [Necromancer] 285816

You can't seem to decipher the book's title. It's some sort of Japonese. You ask Face about it, and he says he think it says Broken Girls. What a surprisingly traveled individual.

>>285823
He raises his blade. "To bring you to justice, of course, you rapscallion! But I know a devious crewmate of the legendary Davy Pones won't turn himself in. You're really just better off dying on my steel."

Davy Pones? You're not even sure you ever shared a crew with someone named Davy Pones. Then again, pirates do have a tendency to pick up aliases later in their careers.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 285833

>>285811

He nods. "To the death! For honor on the high seas! Ours will be a glorious clash of steel that will be heralded as the ending of an age, and a heavenly battle of colossi-at-arms! That alleyway will do."

He points to a dirty alley that looks pretty much the opposite of what he just described.

>>285851
He seems totally unconvinced. "You're not weaseling out of this one! I just recently graduated from the pirate hunter's school, and your picture was on the final exam!"

You didn't know you were so infamous. In schools, anyway.

>>285842
The nurse seems sympathetic. "It's just for fun. Let your big sister relax a little! Maybe you'll understand once you've got your cutie mark."

She hides behind her bangs. "Uh… please don't."

"Gee, that's totally a shut in. I bet she's never seen the dick her entire life."
Is she still there?

Chip(DD Knight) 285893

>>285860
Damn, does he look determined?
"Are you sure? I dont know this Davy pones thing or what not. Look I like duels and all but I am kind of busy and I am conducting some business."
I fish my ID.
"Here take a look and read, perhaps you are making a mistake." I show him the ID, show only, not give.

Wf+6 285894

>>285887
You patiently wait, not betting on anything, as each pony takes turns going around the table. The next time you roll, another Easy Eight comes up.

"Then do something about it, I won't be holding your hoof all the time. I'm supposed to be enjoying myself"

Wf+6 285903

>>285893
You have never seen a more determined goat in your life. And you watched a warlock goat sprint across a beach to jump on a ship to escape an island sure to execute her the next morning if she stayed.

He seems to be losing patience, and just straight out slashes for you.

'1d10'

>>285892
She seems to have calmed down a bit.

He smiles. "Looks like the bookish type. How could I get a girl like that?"

Roll #1 9 = 9

Sándor [Knight] 285904

>>285898
I nod.
"Right. Excuse me, M'Lady."

Follow wherever they took him.
Keep a bit of distance though.

Chip(DD Knight) 285907

>>285903
Damn it.
"Whoa there."
Maul him with my cudgel.

Roll #1 3 = 3

Felfire [Necromancer] 285909

>>285903
"You are the one that understands the fancy moonrunes, not me.
Try to be just like the guys in her books. Romantic, coated in a white robe and a gentlestallion first of all.
Sounds lot of work if you ask me."

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285915

>>285894
'2d6'
one more roll and a few more put in

Roll #1 4, 2 = 6

Wf+6 285923

>>285907
His opening slash sends you totally off balance, but you return with a cudgel swing. It goes terribly wide, but he seems too inexperienced to take advantage of the opening. Lucky you.

>>285909
He feigns injury. "If I can pull off noblewoman, surely I can pull off white knight."

He goes over and theatrically gets down on one knee and kisses her hoof. She blushes furiously.

He walks back, disappointed. "I don't know how much longer she'll put up with these shenanigans. We need a ringer."

>>285904
They seem to have gone in the back room. The suited ponies stop you at the door. "Making a high stakes wager, sir?"

>>285915
The pony in the corner grins as he takes an easy six. You lose a few bits, counting on an easy eight again. You can actually pick your bet if you want.

Wf+6 285925

>>285923
Chip, you have three hits remaining.

Sándor [Knight] 285926

>>285923
"What if I am?"

Wf+6 285928

>>285926
"We'll just want to know which room you're in, for your security, sir." He has a slight eastern accent.

Roll for luck. You can see six rooms.

Chip(DD Knight) 285929

>>285923
"Not bad little one." I smile.
I regain my composure and put the ID back in my pocket.
"Look, I dont want to kill you but perhaps a little beating might help you put you back in place."

Attack the goat.

Rolling.
Enter one randomly.
'1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

Wf+6 285944

>>285929
You take an even wide swing, and the goat knows better than to miss this opportunity. While you're off balance, he smashes you with the broad of his blade, knocking you into the wall, then to the ground.

You are helpless with four wounds remaining.

>>285933
Most of the ponies cheer for the Natural. Even the one in the corner grins.

>>285931
He cocks his head. "Nah, didn't get a look. Honestly, she seems to be hiding her face more than her bag, to me. Maybe she's really self-conscious? I don't know if all these showy lines will work."

>>285937
You try to stroll past the guards without even answering them and you walk straight past the gambling rooms to the dressing chambers for the waitresses. There are several screams as you obliviously burst in, as most of them are totally naked. You can see their cutie marks and everything! Isn't that supposed to be normal? Stupid Eastern cultures.

Chip(DD Knight) 285948

>>285925
>>285925
You've taken into account the martial defender skill right?

Sándor [Knight] 285949

Rolling not to let my eyes linger on them too much.

Can I get a good look at her too?

Roll #0 10 = 10

Wf+6 285951

His first attack took 4 hits. Your failure there resulted in a 3 hit, 1 wound retaliation.

Chip(DD Knight) 285953

"Damn."
Stand up and swing again at him, backing to the crowded street where there are many ponies.
Got to lose him somehow.

Roll #1 5, 6 = 11

Wf+6 285961

>>285950
You get a good look at her, crouched over her book in the booth. She does seem really self-conscious. Looking more closelier**, you notice severe burns on part of her face. She's obviously trying to hide them because she's embarrassed.

**Your critical success defied grammar.

>>285953
You try to get up, but you are dizzy and you end up rolling right in front of him. Even a complete novice can take advantage of this position.

He gives you a good stab to the gut, and you're left helpless with one wound left.

>>285958
Defying all logic, the corner pony wins again. Other ponies have started to bet with them, and a huge round of cheers goes up with the roll of Yo.

>>285949
Your eyes linger a pretty reasonable amount of time. You keep staring as the suited ponies drag you out of the dressing room. At least they don't suspect you of being a thief, just a pervert.

Lady Alys [Warlock] 285967

>>285961
add a bit more to my betting and roll again '2d6'
how much longer is he taking?

Roll #1 3, 2 = 5

Wf+6 285976

>>285967
You roll again, this time betting with the corner pony. Everyone cheers as a Fever Five is rolled.

Suited ponies are starting to gather behind the corner pony…

Chip(DD Knight) 285977

>>285961
"Alright you win! What the hell!" I roll around and try to get as far away to the damn goat as possible while raising my guard.

"Okay that's a load.
Partner, look at the side of her face."
Show him what the girl is hiding.
"She's pretty much afraid of herself. Guess no pony that sees her bad side sticks with her too long."

Sándor [Knight] 285982

>>285961
Well now.
That was at least a bit refreshing.
None of them are as pretty as Her though

Roll #1 2, 6 = 8

Wf+6 285990

>>285977
You roll to your feet. You're hemorrhaging pretty badly, but the adrenaline of the combat keeps you going. Against a normal foe, you'd barely be able to get this done, but he pales and backs up a bit when you get up after that wound.

"You Tartarian! Why won't you DIE?"

In his shock, you manage to push him back further down along the alleyway with your heavy strikes.

>>285982
You manage to poke your head into one room as they drag you by, and you don't spot him in there. In fact, it looks like a bunch of ponies are just laying around having an orgy. What kind of betting is that? Five more rooms.

>>285988
Another easy eight. At this point, the banker collects the dice, and asks everyone to leave the table. There's a hoof sitting on the shoulder of the corner pony…

Summer Seas [Cleric] 285992

Where am I?

Wf+6 285993

Oh.
"So… what now? Are there any more ponies that need healing, mister Nurse?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 286009

>>286004
"… and can we spend the coming night in the infirmary?"

Wf+6 286010

>>285981
He pauses and thinks for a moment. "How can I get a pony that gets scared when someone looks at her? I can't really fake being blind or shy myself at this point."

>>285996
You don't recognize him, but he looks quite suave. Much more than even the mostly nicely-dressed guards. All the guards seem to be focused on him. So much so that…

>>285998
They've lost all interest in you. You look through a few more rooms, each more interesting than the last, until you look into the last and see a small betting parlor with cards you've never seen before. There are two guards and a banker, all with slit throats. There's also a very nice oil painting on the wall that someone appears to have literally jumped through. A hallway lies on the other side of it…

>>285999
You try to escape the alleyway, but as you do, he takes a swing. He almost hits you, but you quicky react and bring the mace around to clobber him in the head, sending him against the side of the alley, breathing heavily.

He attempts to struggle to his feet before near-shouting, "Finish our duel you ruffian, or I call the guards! I won't hold the pity of an abominable pirate!"

>>286004
He nods. "There's always work to be done. Let's get going."

>>286009
He gives a smile. "After what your sister has done? I'll adopt you, if you want!"

You head back to the lower class district, passing a dog fighting a goat in some alleyway. They both look pretty beat, but you try to keep up with the nurse. When you get back to the triage center, you don't see any nurses or patients. It's filled with Order members, combing every corner.

Sándor [Knight] 286012

>>286010
Walk in, close the door, then cautiously go to the hallway.
Can I see our friend there?

I try to disguise myself so they don't recognize me '1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

Wf+6 286046

>>286012
You see a LOT of corpses, most with surprised expressions on their faces. They vary between bullets and slashed throats. A few of them look like they at least drew their weapons, and lost their arms for it.

You come to a split in the hallway. You could continue straight, or take a left or right…

>>286015
You swing back much wider than you should, telegraphing your movements, but he's too inexperienced and injured for it to matter. You smash in his skull, and he dies quietly with a sickening splat.

>>286019
He's an earthie!
He sighs. "Alright, I'll give it a shot."

He pulls out his makeup kit and quickly creates a pretty convincing scar at the base of his leg, then walks over in his best gloomy trot.

You see him sympathetically wave his hoof, sobbing probably about how he'll never dance or play again, or something.

She seems sympathetic, and she lets him slide in next to her. In a few moments, he's worked his magic, and they're headed for the back rooms. Doesn't it feel good to do good deeds for your friends?

>>286022
He's way too occupied with all of the stallions and mares in suits to notice you! They escort him into the back…

>>286026
You briefly consider painting yourself to look like Summer, abandoning her in the city, and going back to the pirates claiming you're her. Then you realize that without the collar, it wouldn't work. Plus what kind of dumb pony would be fooled by paint?

>>286029
Not only do you not know how to disguise, you do a miserable job of keeping quiet. You immediately scream after you see them, remembering the execution.

Several of them turn around and one points, remarking, "She matches the description!"

You started winning steadily since you followed his bets. You're actually up twenty one bits, putting you at seventy one.

>>286054
You decide right is right, and head that way first. You end up walking down a nondescript hallway for a very long time… and finally you arrive back at the main intersection, coming out the left side. What kind of hallway was that?

>>286053
You head back into the city and quickly locate the blacksmith's shop. You can see inside the shop through the glass, he's steadily hammering away at some new equipment.

>>286058
You search his belongings and find twenty five bits and his sword. Besides that, he had a passport, but it's useless because it has a picture of him and says "goat".

>>286062
Single target.
The one you direct your command to seems pretty willing to trust you, and stops in his tracks. "Huh, guess not."

He stops and turns around to look at you. He's a pretty sizable diamond dog. He's been smashing a piece of metal into a sword… or mace… or something. It's hard to tell at this point in the process.

"Yes?"

>>286088
You manage to slip into the shadows, but your daughter seems harder to hide now that you're her size.

>>286089
You head down the middle path. No more corpses this way, either. After wandering for about five minutes, you feel something. Roll to detect.

>>286091
You try to covertly follow the pony being dragged to the back. They head into one of the six rear betting rooms. You're not sure which one Sandor went into.

>>286094
You can use it for your look roll.

One of the fillies is DEFINITELY Summer Seas. The other one looks almost like her mother, Spring Water, but she's around Summer's age, and has no cutie mark.

>>286108
He nods, almost like an automaton. "I am the Gatekeeper. Are you the Keymaster?"

>>286106
You look straight up. It was a drop of blood from the vents above you. You see a limp hoof hanging out. No wonder he's not leaving any tracks. You quickly realize you can just follow the vent to follow his pathway, even without climbing up.

>>286110
She was in a triage center. You're in the dead middle of the street with all attention focused on you. Also he did have to identify you with a passed roll. Also you're forgetting he already made several rolls to search before and failed them, like you did. Remember? Notably the one that sent him into the fountain?

Wf+6 286126

>>286122
You use your The Sixth Sense to detect the reek of death in the air and you bust down the door of the room the suited men took the winning pony into. As best you can guess, they knocked him out and tied him up when they saw the corpses in the room: they have bigger problems than someone who wins too much.

You sprint down the hallway and regain a little bit of lost time.

>>286121
You arrive at a large vault door. It looks untouched, but you can see the vents go straight through. You're probably too big for them, and they're up top anyway. You might be able to smash it down, but that would definitely alert anyone around, and would probably hurt a lot. There are also probably other ways to get inside a vault.

>>286124
Again, she was inside a tent in a different district. He rolled to find someone in plain sight literally right in front of him. You're at the entrance to the district being assaulted by guards at the center of attention. Remember how the first of those rolls you made not even in the same part of the city as her? Also, stealthing someone who lacks the stealth skill else is DC8. You rolled 7.

>>286123
They tighten the circle around Summer and the nurse. "The Provost wishes to speak with this particular mare."

He inserts the key and turns it. The fireplace seems to "eat" itself and in its place, there is a tunnel.

"He waits for us, Keymaster."

>>286129
You only manage to bump into the legs of Order ponies circling her as the Spokesman picks her up.

"You will cooperate, or we will give your friend the Provost's Peace."

To punctuate his point, they draw their swords and hold them at the throat of the nurse. He looks pretty nervous and starts sobbing. Geez, he is pretty girly.

>>286133
The Spokesman shakes his head at you. "Even if that is true, the Order of the Virtuous is above the law. The Provost wishes to speak with this mare, so he will speak with this mare. She has an extraordinary talent that the Provost has taken notice of."

Normally, a claymore would not be an effective tool for moving gold. Miraculously, you make it work. In a few seconds you have five bags of gold tied off. There's still tons of additional gold throughout if you want to get more bags. They follow the same penalty rules as the original gold bags from Bridgewater: -1 to almost all actions per each bag while carrying. (Exceptions for non-strenuous acts that don't require arms, like diplomacy)

The dragon looks to be pretty pre-occupied yet.

How will you distribute the five gold bags and three snuff bags between yourself and Alys? It will not impact rolls to gather more gold or snuff.

There is a near unlimited amount of gold left. There's only one bag of snuff left.

A short salute, and he's gone.

Sandor catches the worst of it, pinned down by the fire he hits the wall, and having not healed his injuries from before, he's in a grave state.
