Smitts remarks, "Taking speakers for the floor."
Umlock, Ruxiang, Flux, Landgrave, and Bronze all indicate themselves, and Smitts recognizes Thirsty Umlock.
He gives a lengthy speech in an incomprehensible Northern tongue. At the end, Sunnyskies translates:
"It boils down to 'I'm going to kill anyone that doesn't support going to the Starry Slough."
"Yes, yes, thank you Umlock. Ruxiang?"
"We been idle too long. Gotta raid something. What does Dixie have for us? Nothing! A few slaves. Roads? Impossible to raid. Ottomanes been trying for decades. Starry Slough major trade outpost. Bring great wealth to fleet."
"Thank you. Landgrave."
"The greatest opportunity for wealth is not by way of simple raiding. Mister Ruxiang is correct that the Island of Roads is impregnable, but that is only a testament to the wealth and power within. We can still make great gains there, and we have contacts in the city that will help us crew our ships to continue raiding the Equestrian coast – and possibly the opportunity for much more. We're looking into the possibility of sailing up the Grand Canal – directly to the capital. It would be the first siege of Canterlot in centuries: but only possible with the batteries obtained in Roads. They would never see it coming, and we would make off with unfathomable wealth."
"Thank you Mister Landgrave. Mister Flux?"
"Dixie. Our only opportunity for realistic profit. Roads. We will never get what that unicorn promises you there. Lies. All of it, we've never had friends in Trotantium. Remnant. Nothing for us there. Slough? Even less of value. Lies. Again and again: take a look, and you'll realize that the Slough is even more heavily guarded than Stonebriar. Foolish. I balk at the idea of strolling past their defenses to raid it in both cases."
"Yes, thank you. And Mister Bronze?"
"Another nomination for the Island of Roads. Even if you don't buy into Mister Landgrave's claims, take into consideration that if we can so much as get inside, I bet we can raid it. The Ottomanes fail because their ships never get in range. They have no defenses on the inside: they're an island, remnant nation. No man-to-man land firepower."
"Thank you. Any further speakers?"
A few other crewmembers indicate themselves. Better show you want to speak if you want another opportunity.>>439806
It's more of a scribble than actual words. As though writing ability deteriorated.>>439449
"Smitts has me. And he won't let me go so easily. I'm sure he already knows. He always does."
