Grand Grimoire the Arcane, current head of the Catnerlot mage Academy.
Dusklight, captain of the Guard of Canterlot.
Greymane, lead scholar of the Canterlot Royal Archives
And several heroes, many beaten and battered, but proudly showing their awards for their deeds of legend.

There seems to be a moment of waiting before Celestia is scheduled to arrive, if you wish to exchange words before taking your positions on the raised podium.

The captain tells you it is his duty to defend Canterlot, with his life if he must.
His guards will form the Sun Shield, defending Celestia, and any that remain will patrol the city to keep order.
He offhandedly mentions there was a minor disturbance not too long ago as a group of ponies left town at night, headed north. They assaulted a group of guards when questioned, but could not be found after that.

The Mage Academy has studies the spell and made all possible preparations. It is a powerful and difficult spell, prepared by far better unicorns than those available, but the brightest minds of Canterlot are ready to at least try.

You take your positions on the pedestal, and after a moment of silence the main doors open.
Celestia strides in. Her head held high and without any signs of the fatigue and pain that have radiated from her in the past days. In their place, all you can feel is determination.
She is clad in a golden suit of armour, the greatest feat of craftsmanship any have ever witnessed. It reflect the glow of her radiance, amplifying her blinding aura greatly. Upon it's surface you see intricate details in the shape of carvings and additional parts. You can see the insignias of Unicornia, Pegasopolis and Earth of old, the seal of the Griffon King, the mark of Equestria and sun itself.

At her right side marches the undead pegasus Gracious Glory, Father of Heroes, raised from his tomb to serve one final time. He is wearing the same armour he was buried in, but with small changes. the centuries of moss and dirt have been cleaned off and the dents repaired. Though still covered in rich verdigris, a single new, polished element has been added. Where once the breastplate had a carving of his motto "Only in death does duty end", there now reads "Even in death I still serve".

On Celestia's left, the dragon ambassador, Noise. She looks the same as ever, but is wearing a golden rosary emblazoned with the signs of Celsetia, the Griffon King and her own dragons.

The trio takes their place before the throne, and Celestia asks for silence.

Celestia turns to the heroes on the podium and the hall falls silent. She says she doubts introductions are needed, as those standing here this day are the ones who have done some of the greatest of services to her, Canterlot and all of Equestria.
Radiant Dawn, the Celestial who has embraced the sun
Dawn, the silent beauty and master interrogator
Trusty, fabled for his poor luck and many kills
Zebro, OG of the dead, and his zombie dragon
Campfire, the recent champion of the war effort an recoverer of the Shard of Light
And Aenoi the preacher, whose sight few evils can slip.

They have the most knowledge and experience of the coming foe, and as such have been selected as the group to lead the grand plan.
Ironhide is scant hours away from reaching Canterlot, and action needs to be taken now.
Celestia motions for a few unicorns to step forward. They bow, and introduce themselves. They are a special lot selected by the mage academy, and they will act as a link between all the fronts during the coming battle by serving as a hub for telepathic communication.

They step into formation and cast their spell, conjuring a vision of the Griffon King.

The Griffon King says the airship Stormherald has been launched and is en route . If their calculations are correct, it will catch Ironhide before the dragon reaches Canterlot.
Another image appears next to the King, a second griffon. He introduces himself as Skyburner, Captain of the Stormherald. He thanks Commander Stormwind for his generous support in the battle, saying the pegasus teams sent to aid the airship are performing admirably. A unicorn mage stands next to Skyburner. Noise recognizes him as Sheffield, one of those who helped her clan back in the Griffon Kingdom.
Celestia thanks her distant allies, then turns back to the party, handing all those present a pendant with a slightly vibrating gem. These were prepared en masse by the mage academy to act as conduits for the communication spell. As long as you wear it, you can attempt to contact any other member of the war effort.

Noise steps up and says she will be leading the dragons. Two of the clans are roosting near Canterlot and can join the battle as soon as needed, but the last is further away and will take time to get there.
Gracious Glory then takes his turn, saying he has spent the last days training ever soldier he can. He himself is ready to face Valiance in combat if needed, but has understood that there is a plan outside direct attack.

Finally, Celestia speaks again, saying that there indeed is a plan. She asks the heroes join her in a little private talk. The rest are excused if no other business needs to be conducted.

The dragons will go regardless of your choice, and will buy you all the time they can. However if you linger too long, they might need to fall back, allowing Ironhide a clear path to Canterlot.
Stormherald can engage Ironhide to buy time as well, but without support Captain Skyburner fears it will be a battle he cannot win.
The binding spell is ready, but needs a lot of time to be channeled.
The Shard of Light is prepped, but it is such an insignificant fragment it will have no effect unless Ironhide is weakened first.
Celestia herself will act as the last line of defense, and will attack Ironhide head on if he reaches the castle. She will not let her people die to protect herself.

As you gaze into the mirror, you see the battle unfold. Three of the largest dragons still alive are gripping with Ironhide. The pegasi and landing on top of the colossal beast and hacking away at whatever they can until they must fall back at it lashes out at them. Not all make it to safety and two are torn apart as Ironhide's massive claw passes through them with no more effort than passing through air.
Two of the smaller mature dragons swoop in from below in an effort to attack Ironhide unseen, but are caught in a torrent of dark flame. As the flame dies out, their charred forms fall to the ground, twisted and mutated by the corrupting power of the fire born from Darkness.
Noise herself is keeping at a distance, trying to give orders to the others while also keeping in contact using her crystal. Ironhide lifts his sight and sees her.

The decks are bristling with guns and ballistas, and a large cannon-like coil protrudes for the main hull. Griffons swoop around the craft and teams of pegasi push the mass of clouds onwards, beating them with fury to keep the lightning going.

Gracious places his hooves on Ironhide's nose, asking him to endure this final test. He will be there for him. Now, as he has always been, like a father should.
Ironhide falls silent as black flame seeps out from the cracks in his broken body. The shard of light begins to wreath his form in bright light, consuming and suffocating the dark fire, until all the remains is seared white ash. From beneath the pile, Valiance drags himself a few feet away, then collapses, exhausted.
Gracious cradles his head in his hooves, saying it is over now.

She turns to the party

She then turns to leave.
"Come, let us return to Canterlot. It is a beautiful day to be alive, do you not agree?"

Stormherald has been brought in for repairs and her crew have been given temporary housing in the pony capital.
With the dragon clans devastated, the Griffons could retake one of their abandoned town earlier than expected. The other still served as a roost for the survivors who stayed behind.
Noise is with you at the castle. Her wounds healed well, though she still has a bit of a limp, and a dark scarred patch will forever remind her of the burning fire of Tirek she fought and survived.
Headmaster Grimoire is present as well, though sober now.
Valiance and Graceful Glory are keeping their distance from the grander festivities.
You can see Cloak and Dagger observing the gathering from the shadows.
Archivist Graymane is not here, he is busy with his work.
Celestia is hosting the gathering in person.
Max is still in the dungeon.

As the party rushes to warn Celestia, a deep, roaring laughter echoes through the walls. And the floor. It is impossible to tell where it's origin lies, but whatever it is and wherever it is, it is massive.
You hurry to find the Princess, and ultimately locate her at the castle battlements, looking at the mountains in the distance. As you watch in the same direction, you see one of the peaks crumble. A shadowy form climbs out of the mess of rubble and takes to the sky. You pass around a spyglass that was conveniently nearby.
