After reaching the enclosed location of Abbey, on the edges of the Everfree forest, the party finds itself in front of a stronghold of white stone, which is still capable of emanating an holy and peaceful vibe.
Three white-dressed ponies come out of the main gate, and slowly approach the party.

"Let's not stay outside for too long, Everfree is nearby. Not a healthy environment to be in."

Approach the ponies quickly

"Hey you three? You from the abbey?"

"You three, I suppose you're not just waltzing around here for no good reason?"

The two ponies on the side come to a stop, and the third pony, a dark-coated earth (might even be a pegasus) pony mare speaks.
"We are tasked with greeting travelers who come across our sanctuary. Not many ponies visit this place without a reason."

"With me, Miss Source, if you please"
approach the 3 slowly
"Greetings, I am Firmgold. And I am here on behalf of a town in need"

Rolled 5 + 2 = 7

The leading mare says
"You should speak to the chapel master. If you'd follow us.."
Then she turns around, and starts making her way into the Fort.

I follow them cautiously while keeping as much distance between myself and Peg as I can.

Follow her.

"How safe is this place exactly? Everfree is full of dangerous bullshit and I need to know if we are under threat or not."

I follow them.
"I take it you greet all visitors with warm food and cold booze?"

follow her, and scan the place. must be interesting!

Rolled 6 = 6

I follow at the end of the group.

"The creatures of the forest only want to be understood, we are protected by the blessing of the Princess herself, no harm has ever come to this place."
She scowls at you, then looks at Spring Source.
"I thought one of our order would have instructed you better, before coming here. Gambling, drinking and.. Other abborrant conducts are prohibited, here."

You are now inside the majestic building. The outher walls run at least ten meters thick, and several stores high, holding what seems to be the only real building. Inside them, a huge garden opens to you, with fountains, benches, trees and flowers, the perfect place to concentrate on magic and faith. A huge statue of Celestia stands in the middle.

Very interesting, and you can already see many doors leading to various sites of the Holy building, including a bigger one, with golden inscriptions and all.

I snarl.
"Yeah, don't worry, I'm not in the mood for other conducts as of now thanks to a freak."

"Madam, this particular character is of little harm. Please do not let his antics trouble you."

scan for other clerics

Rolled 10 = 10

"No fun allowed? Shame. What do you do in your free time?"

I fly over to the statue.
"What this?"

I keep following.

"Please, mind your tone in here!"
You can see several clerics have turned their head to look at you.
"As long as he can keep his turmoils to himself. Otherwise, I'll have to see him escorted outside."

And yeah, everyone here is a cleric or is studying to become one. There are at least 40 ponies in the garden alone.
"We Praise the Sun!"
"Oh for the love of Celestia, move away! You'll ruin it!"

"Understood Miss."
any of them looking particularly knowledgeable?

Rolled 1 = 1

"This place looks like fun, yes. If you like boring."

I scowl at the pony and fly over to the door.
Can I read the inscriptions on it?

Rolled 10 = 10

"Sounds… nice?"

Approach one of the male clerics. One that's nice looking.

Rolled 3 = 3

I look over to Spring Source, what's she doing?

Yes, there's a buck that goes around particularly full of himself, with squared glasses and an hip scarf.
He sure knows what he's doing, as he tries his magic on a flower and… Nope, the flower is dead and the grass around looks pale.
Better avoid him.
Oh, that one, with an hood on his head, looks so misteryous and dreamy. You should totally get to know him.
No, you can't. But the nice mare looking at you can. As she explains how these marks represent the faith every cleric shares in Celestia, the Godness-Princess ruling over Equestria and the Sun, you have now a basic knoledge of pony mithology and laws.
She's standing near Lady Firmgold, her lips closed shut in an emotionless expression, and her eyes lost miles away.

"excuse me Miss, how close are we to this headmaster of yours? merely a question, I don't want to seem rude"

Rolled 10 = 10

I walk closer to her.
"Uh, Spring?"

Anything interesting in Boringville?

Rolled 6 = 6

Uhhhh, I'll just watch my sister instead.

Rolled 8 = 8

"So Celestia is like that? How?"
I point at the statue.

"Oh, she's just above those stairs."
She points you at the huge stairway, where Seekkill is reading.
"And she should be able to receive you, at least I hope."
Then she moves ahead up the stairs, and disappears.
As you approach her, she turns around and looks the other way, not even aknoledging you.
If you like Holy Textes..
You look at her. Look at her real good.
She needs a new manecut!
"Because" The mare goes "she's the Alicorn, the supreme regent of our country. And she's also there!" And she points at the sky "Because the Sun itself is Celestia!"

walk up to where I'm supposed to, and lightly knock on the door if there is one, or try to politely make myself known to the head mistress

Rolled 3 = 3

I groan, then hover over to one of the prettier mares, possibly to someone who is seperated from the others.

"Hey there, sweetie, mind if I ask some questions?"

"Spring Source?"

"No. How? I never see alicorn before. Only three pony kinds."

Keep observing

As you climb the huge flight of stairs leading to the Chapel Master's chamber you pay careful attention to your hoofsteps, at the pose, the cut of your mane, the moves of your companions..
Then, once in front of the last door before the fathomed Chapel Master, you gently sit on the ground, without even a sound.
And shout in your most masculine voice "IS THERE ANYONE IN THERE?"
From behind the door, you can hear a feeble, almost shocked voice say something you can't make out.
You try to pick a lone mare, but they all seem to be immersed in their books.
Her response is quick, her words hasty, she doesn't want to look at you.
"Well she is unique! The only one of her kind! And she lives in the Royal Palace, in Canterlot!"

I puff out my chest.
"We going to Canterlot."

I look back at the door.
"Teach me to read those."

There must be at least one whose attention I can grab!

Rolled 5 = 5

"Oh dear I'm so sorry Miss! I didn't mean that please! I am Lady Firmgold and I am here on behalf of a town's request. Are you the headmaster? Will you hold an audience with me?"

Rolled 8 + 2 = 10

I laugh loudly

"You can't read? Even I can read, hah!"

"I- uh, I mean you've been quiet since we left town."

"That might take a while.."
Roll to see how good a student you are. I'll roll to see how good a teacher the mare is.
Nope. They all love Celestia more than bucks. One of the males, on the other hand, is looking at you with a sly grin.
Then, the door opens and an old, frail mare appears. She's yellow with a milky mane and two big teal eyes.
Her robes seem to be too big for her body, and after a few steps she has to stop to prevent it from tramping her hooves.
Once back on her seat, behind a large desk seemingly made only of light, she speaks.
"Yes, child?"
"No. I've been quiet since you went crazy!" Her hood covers her face, but you can see tears running down her mane.

Rolled 8 = 8

I growl at Ambrosia as I follow the mare off to be taught.

I shiver.
Try to work my magic then.
Whisper to one of the mares who is reading.
"Hello, honey. Surely you wanted to put that old book down and pay attention to me, didn't you?"

Rolled 7 + 2 = 9

"Yes well, I'm here on a request by a town that has been relying on a single cleric for I don't know how long. Would It be possible for you to send a couple more clerics that way? It would be a great aid to the town."
look around, is Spring Source with me?
also what was the town's name?

Rolled 3 + 2 = 5

you gotta roll. I'll multiply your roll by mine, if it's over 50 you'll have learnt equestrian.

I pace about nervously.
"Yeah, I could guess that…incident was it…we need to go off somewhere more private for this!"

Rolling to learn.

Rolled 4 = 4

The mare shivers
"Oh my.. Why, what do you want from me?"
But even if she sounds protective, she has only eyes for you.
Spring is outside, you may call her in whenever you want.
The town's name is Donkeyburg.
"A couple cleric? Donkeyburg? What the.. Who's the cleric there?"
She shuffles a bit between old books.
"Ah, miss Spring Source. A young promise, if I remember. And what has come of her?"
"Not now, please.." Yeah, that's a puddle of tears right there, on the floor.
You are only able to grasp the basic of the language, and while the biggest sentences elude you, you could be able to read simple texts or short messages.
But no fancy words.

"Hey now, no need to get all bitchy! Goddess knows I know how it goes…"

I take my scarf and try to clean her face up a bit.
"I'm sorry…I'm sure they're gonna call you in there soon."

Rolled 3 = 3

You can't stop shaking, and the scarf drops on the floor as soon as you try to close it to her face. This just results in a really awkward nose boop.

I smirk.
"Well, you know, I'm a weary traveler, and I have been through a lot of trouble lately… if we could move to somewhere private and you could lend your beautiful ears to listen to my story, I would be most grateful."

I read a few words allowed then laugh.
"Good! I owe you now. What do you want?"

"Miss Spring Source is with me, not immediately mind you! but she is here possibly looking over some things she might need. However back to the matter of Donkeyburg"

Rolled 10 + 2 = 12

"Oh, but that's a must for every Cleric! My call has been answered!"
She tugs at you, leading you up one of the ramps of stairs.
"M-Me? Oh no, I do it for the faith! You don't have to thank me!"

Fuck the spellchecker.

"Thank? I owe you. What do you want?"

Of course I follow… and steal some glances at her rear.
"Why thank you, my dear!"

"I-uh-h-I Sorry!"
I pick it up and try again

Rolled 1 = 1

Walk over and pick it up for her before she messes up all nervously

Rolled 8 = 8

She just looks at you blankly for a moment. "Oh, yes, Donkeyburg. You say they need a cleric? That might be doable. But this is an extraordinary request.."
"Nothing I said!"
She's getting defensive
You are now in a room with several mares and stallions all sitted in a circle.
The mare that led you hear speaks up
"Everypony! Please, welcome our new guest, here for some spiritual relief!"
A large banner atop a wall reads '1st helping center for self-improvement and faith'
Your hooves are not responding anymore. As you move in to pick the scarf, your tear-ridden eyes can't find it amongst the white tiles of the floor, and you end up slipping on the fresh tears.
Thankfully, your sister was there to pck you up and avoid a bad hit to your jaw.
Mission accomplished, sister's face saved.

Hoof it back to her and wink at her, then turn to Spring Source.

"You'll have to forgive my sister miss, she just messed up. She's a better pony then I am."

"well, Not just one. And I understand the extremity of my request. However this town isn't in the best of shape right now and the populace there is in danger even with one"

Rolled 2 + 2 = 4

I scatch the back of my head, then whisper to the mare.
"I was thinking of something more private, it's really not something I'd like to talk about in this crowd!"

"You helped me. I help you. Do you not want anything?"

I pick the scarf up and try to clean my own eyes first.

Rolled 4 = 4

Spring sniffs up
"Yeah, maybe."
But she's still not looking at Peg.
"Danger you say.."
She sizes you up.
"Tell me, you are a paladin, fighting for the Sun and following the faith, right? We might.. Reach a compromise. A few clerics for that town if you help me. With a book."
"Oh don't be silly! This is the best way to help a tormented soul!"
They are beginning to chant. Roll to resist the power of Celestia.
"I! No! I do it to see ponies.. and gryphons smile! It's all I could ask!"
No, you mop around on the floor, holding the scarf between your hooves.

Stay strong! Maybe I can still lure her to bed after they are done with this stupid shit!

Rolled 5 = 5

"W-well I am one who prefers diplomacy. But If it's for the town then I will help you with this book you're requesting"

Rolled 7 + 2 = 9

I'm just gonna sob against Spring Source then.
Is that too much too?

Rolled 9 = 9

"Don't let one mistake on her part ruin your chance of happiness."

Leave the two alone again

"Smile? Fine."
I smile for her.
Rolling to see how creepy it is.

Rolled 5 = 5

There is no Shaky anymore. You are one with the Sun. The Great Celestia is Wathing you.
Alignment shift to Lawful
"Oh dear, is not a book I request. Is your help I require to read said book. Follow me."
She exits the room
"And bring your companions too, please."
No, she needs it too. You two are now silently sobbing on each other's hooves, just as Lady Firmgold and the Chapel Master pass by.
Beaks are not exactly perfect for smiling, but you tried, the thought is what counts.

"We are even. Where is f-where is the food?"
I tilt my head, not sure if I got that right.

head back to wherever Spring Source and everyone else is
"Come with me please"
then head back and follow the old mare

Rolled 4 + 2 = 6

How in the hell?

I let out an exasperated sigh and follow her while keeping close to Spring.

I'll go back to find a reasonably looking stallion

Rolled 5 = 5

"Food?" She looks at you a bit concerned
"In the mess hall I guess, we have fruit and hay and cabbages.."
She brings you in front of a large wooden door opening on what seems to be an underground dungeon
"Now, all your companions here?"
[s]I answered you in meta. Is a goddamn room full of clerics./s]
You are with Lady Firmgold and the others.
Back in the garden, some stallions don't even look all that bad, but they are not too much interested in conversation.. Or if they are, they just want to instruct you on the ways of the Sun.

None of them that are interested in a non-religious chat at all?

Rolled 6 = 6

"Unfortunately no. They tend to.. pursue their own entertainment. However I assure you I am willing to do what is necessary in place of my, compatriots"

Rolled 1 + 2 = 3

I smile.
"Oh joy. I feel liberated. Maybe I should stay here and join your ranks so I too can help ponies!"

"Show me."

Maybe? There's a weak looking pink stallion, reading in the corner, that doesn't seem to much etrailled by his textbook.
The Chapel Master doesn't look all too convinced, but shrughs
"If you say so.."
And then opens the door revealing a basement with intricated runic inscriptions all over the floor. And a book standing on a pedestal in the middle
"Gaze upon our most sacred relique. The Purification Book."
"Oh, that is wonderful! We must contact the Chapel Master!"
She runs off, follow her?
I just said lawful, you are still neutral. Lawful Neutral now.
Uncertantly, she takes your claw in her hoof and makes way for the mess hall.
Meanwhile, she starts explaining you the story of the Abbey
"…and that's how Equestria was mande!"

Approach him

"Hey buddy, you alright? Lookin' a little bored there."

oh dear, look at it

Rolled 4 = 4

I wait by the door.
Is Spring still crying?
I speak to the Master.
"You want us to read that?"

"What a story."

I know
I follow her out.
"Forgive me, for I have sinned. I don't actually want to join you. I just wanted to get out of there."

"What? Bored? Who said that?"
Yeah, he's defensive allright. Maybe he's hiding something.
Strange writing EVERYWHERE! You can't make out a word, and before you get too close the Chapel Master's magic thugs at you
"Now miss, that's a dangerous thing to do, reading that book. It is not.. Free, yet."
"No my dear, I'll be the one doing the reading. You'll have to assist if the situation evolves into.. Unforseen Consequences."
She's looking heartbroken. Yup, now she's crying. And vulnerable.
"I know, right?"
You are now in the mess hall, vegetables of all sorts ornate the plates, and fresh water springs from a fountain in the middle of the majestic room. Tall windows depict epic battles on the side of the walls.

I snort softly

"I can see a bored face busy studying from a mile away. What's up?"

"We should get the others…"

I place a hoof on her shoulder to comfort here.
"There there, no need to cry… I'm still here, right now, aren't I?"
So wait, what am I Lawful to again? That's pretty important.

He raises to his hooves and walks deeper into a corner of the garden
"You are not from the church, right? It's okay if I tell you a secret?"
Yeah, you should. But they are all around the Abbey!

I look at the vegetables.
"Is this all?"

I giggle

"Do I look like a nun or something? Look, just spill the beans, I'm not going to fucking tell on you like some bitch."

"My apolog- "
>She's crying and vulnerable
"Excuse me miss Headmaster I must tend to Miss Source"

"Miss Source? I understand you need a few moments alone. However we must be in tip top shape for the coming events. Now if this is a matter between you and Miss Peg Leg then The two of you must sort this matter out now. For my sake, for the headmaster's sake. For the sake of the two of you"

Rolled 1 + 2 = 3

Lawful Neutral. The clerics changed you from chaotic to lawful.
"But.. You laid to me! I was so happy to have a friend!"
"Well.. yes, what would you eat?"
He sighs heavily.
"I don't have.. The 'call'. I didn't want to be here! I.. I hate this place! My parents made me, because I was the second born!"
She's not the one crying. That's the mare with shaky in the garden right now. Source is sobbing, but fine and able otherwise.
"N-no. It's private, and it's nothing. I can help you just like always!"

"Lady? We need the others for this!"

"I.. I see, well if you need, I am always available for conversation. I'm here."
"I understand Miss Peg Leg, however! If this mission were important enough for them as it is to us then they would be here. You may take Miss Spring Source to a safer location. With Commander and The Engineer here, we are still not enough. But I am not willing to risk all of you for it. I will do this on my own if need be!"

Rolled 2 + 2 = 4

"Well you don't HAVE to be here y'know. Fuck, you could come with us even. Can always use an extra set of hooves."

I tap my staff on the ground a few times and jiggle my necklace with a claw.

"I'm still a friend!… but I guess I can stay. Just for you. Would that make you happy again?"
I brush her mane out of her face and smile at her.

"Ah, that's funny. And then be alone in the world, without knowing anyone. Maybe roaming from town to town hoping to make friends and get jobs.
That's not my kind of life. I couldn't live with the fear of waking up under an unknown roof tomorrow.
The fear of not having an house, a family, nothing.
Certain ponies are made for adventure, I am not."
"What?" She's baffled and has no idea what's going on.
"But you just said.." She's looking up at you, her big teary eyes red from disappointment and sadness.

I look around nervously
"It's Spring's decision."

"If you ask me to stay, I'll do so."

"Well, hope you enjoy rotting away your best years in the no-fun zone. If you'll excuse me, I'll be going back to my group so we can travel on and make a difference out there."

Rolling to convince

Rolled 3 = 3

They are covered in bones.
"Any other food?"
I pick up a vegetable at random. Does it look tasty?

"No, I want to help."
She's pretty sure of it.
"Yes! Please, yes, remain!"
"Better than getting maimed by a bear!"
Now, where were your friends? The cool guys, those who liked adventure?
Her face goes green for a moment.
"Oh godness you are.. Oh, I'm so sorry, we do not eat those things!"
The whole mess hall is looking at you now.

Spit on the ground and find them

Rolled 10 = 10

"Right then. Miss Headmaster, uhm. Well we are here and ready. What next?"

Rolled 2 + 2 = 4

"I will stay here and learn your codes and order… but…let's clarify this, there's no such thing as a celibate here, right?"

As you spit, you miss the soft earth of the garden, and it lodges right between a crack in one of the white stones that makes up the floor. The crack is big enough for you to see your friends, or at least lady Firmgold and your sister, in a dark basement.
And if your 7th sense is right, the door to take is right that way!
You regroup with them.
"Next, child, you take position by the door. Close it shut and turn all the locks. Once you are done, come down here and we'll begin."
"Well.. Actually, there is. All clerics must be pure, while in the Abbey. Only once we complete the five years of training we can live a normal life in the village we are assigned to!"

"I hate this place. What's up guys?"

"This is pretty seedy…"

do as she says, wait for anyone to regroup first

I frown.
"Five years? As in, five whole years? That's an awful lot…"

I frown.
"If you say this is food…"
I bite into it. How does it taste?

Rolled 6 = 6

"But it's for the Suuuuun!" She's doing puppy eyes. You are not entirely sure if the crying from before was legit, either.

"Hmm, nah… I wouldn't do it for the Sun… You, on the other hoof. Say, is there guarantee that if I do this whole thing I'll be able to live with you afterwards?"

"Get ready for a fight."

Could be worse. Is not a tender piece of Hydra, but is sweet and juicy and you might even like it.
"What? Me? And you? Wh-aaaa…"
She's all red.
Yeah, maybe you got her in your poket.

"What now Miss Headmaster?"

I put a few on a plate and sit down at a table to try and enjoy my meal.

"Is that a yes?"

To recap:
Lady Firmgold
Peg Leg
Spring Source
Eden Stolen
Automatic Spring
Are here. Everyone else is outside and won't be able to interact with you until the end of the event.

She just moves slowly towards the book, and motions the lot of you right in front of her.
"Now, we begin."
She hugs you
"That's all I can do for now. But maybe, some other day.."
Roll 1d10
to see looks/10

Rolled 5, 2, 6, 9, 10, 7, 5, 1, 9, 7 = 61

Rolled 3 = 3

As the old mare begins to read from the book, an intagible wind sweeps the basement rool.
The few candles giving much needed respite from the darkness shut dead, and for several seconds the only light comes form the shining eyes of the Chapel Master.
Then, a blue aura surrounds the room, engulfing you in the colours of twilight. The unnatural brilliance is cold on the skin, and you can see your breath forming clouds of frost as it leaves your mouth.
But this is only the beginning.
As the Chapel Master cries out the last verse of the book's incipit, she collpses on the ground, and an unnatural silence looms on the room.
You got one roll to prepare.

Rolled 7, 7, 2, 3, 1, 7, 8, 9, 3, 7 = 54

"Wow, this isn't fucking creepy at all. What the fuck guys?"

Halberd at the ready!

Rolled 8 = 8

I stay near Spring Source.

Rolled 7 = 7

readying myself

Rolled 7 = 7

I hug her back and prepare for my spiritual journey of boredom and dryness for 5 years.

and for
Commander Storm
Engineer Spring
Cleric Source

Rolled 2, 6, 1 = 9

5 years to score a 3/10 mare? And to think just last night you went wild with two 10/10 you had met that very moment. Life is strange.
+1 to all your next rolls with the Halberd.
+1 to all your next rolls with your spear.
+1 to all healing done to you.
-1 to every normal attack from Eden Stolen
+1 to every normal attack from Automatic Spring
-2 to every normal attack for Spring Source.

The Chapel Master has enough breath left for one lone sentence.
"Have- Faith."
As she pronounces these words a portal glowing purple with the colors of the night opens behind her, and out a Shadowly Figure comes.
It's the height of a pony, and speaks in a raspy, sickening voice that echoes in your mind more than in your hears.

"We are the envoyes of the Queen of the Eternal Night. Bow to us and bow to Her, and your souls will be spared."

"I don't think so."
word of power
Roll 2d10+1 first for the Commander to Shatter, then for the Engineer to attack with his sword

Rolled 1 + 2 = 3

Rolled 9, 6 + 1 = 16

"Yeah yeah yeah, shut up."

Power Attack

Rolled 6 = 6

"Nightmare Moon's behind ya!"

Rolled 6 = 6

As you try to throw your challange at the beast, your voice trembles and mind goes weak.
All you can do is fear for your life, in a precious moment of helplessness. No actions this turn.

But the quick thinking of Commander Eden quickly send the Shadow flying into the wall opposing the door, a big chunk of its face blasted right off.
And the engineer takes this opportunity to slash at it with a quick swordblow.
Your strike lands true on the already wounded creature, but no sound comes from his mouth.
You wonder if he even has one.
The apparison is not even fazed by your words.

As you all lung at the pony-like beign, a low laughter fills the air.

Four portals have appeared on the sides of the room.

Shatter its head then!

Rolled 8 = 8

get up oh dear get up!
Roll 2d10 for Commander to use shatter on the shadow and for Engineer to try and finish it off!

Rolled 6 = 6

Rolled 2, 10 = 12

I prepare a trap.

Rolled 6 = 6

You raise back to your hooves just as Eden tries to attack again shatter has a 1 turn CD the apparison, but fails miserably when another creature, spawned from one of the portals, tackles him to the ground.
But Automatic's in the perfect position, and with one sword blow cuts the creature in half.
Just for there to be two halves standing.
You catch this opportunity to blast at the remaining bits of the creature, which shatters in a thousand small pieces, now all over the room.
A trap is set, sturdy enough to catch a pony.

From the portals 8 creatures have emerged. They are all twisted shadows, and none of them resembles any living creature you can think of.

word of power, shout them down!

Roll 2d10 for the Commander and Spring to attack again! "look out for each other!"

Rolled 1 + 2 = 3

Rolled 1, 6 = 7

I shoot at one of them.

Rolled 1 = 1

Slash one of them!

Rolled 4 = 4

Your words are stuck in your troath, and one of the shadow apparisons jumps at you. 2 hits.
The shadowly creature that trapped Eden on the floor is now biting at his neck, and doesn't seem about to let go. You are not sure how well he's faring, but he won't be able to withstand that for long.
The engineer is able to fence off one of the apparisons and slow it down a bit.
The gunpowder blows in your face. 1 hit, gun has to be cleaned this turn.
Your swipe is too wide and you completely miss the apparison, as he moves close and quickly jabs at you. 1 hit.

What's Spring doing?
I clean my gun.

Rolled 9 = 9

Again! Power Attack!

Rolled 7 = 7

throw my spear at the shadow holding Commander down

Roll 3d10 for Commander to get up, for Engineer to slash another, and for the Cleric to heal me

Rolled 3 = 3

Rolled 4, 7, 10 = 21

Nothing. She's standing behind, waiting for orders from Lady Firmgold.
Your gun is now locked and loaded, ready to fire again.
You are quicker than it this time. And slash right across its fa.. It's center mass. The apparison clearly slowes down.
As you throw your spear away to save Eden one of the aparisons hits your side, causing 1 more hit (3 total).
The engineer is able to finish off the one creature he had attacked earlier, but Eden is still pinned on the ground as the creature begins to melt with his body.
He doesn't seem able to resist.
Spring Source quickly heals you in a blaze of golden light, a reminder the Sun is still around.
You are now at 1 wound.

pull the commander up!
"Get up commander I won't let you go so easily!"

Roll 3d10 for the Commander to get up with his spear, for the Engineer to fight some more and for the Cleric to heal Ambrosia

Rolled 3 = 3

Rolled 9, 5, 7 = 21

Rolled 2 = 2

I shoot again!

Rolled 8 = 8

You make a mad rush for the Commander, but are stopped short when one of the apparisons hits you on the side.
This would hurt if it wasn't for the trap placed by Peg earlier, as the creature is now helpless and you are unscarred.
The commander can finally scroll the abomination away, but is visibly paler.
"Still kickin!"
He says this, but you are not sure how much you can believe him.
The engineer is overrun by 2 creatures as he tries to attack, and while keeping one at bay, is hit by the other.
Spring heals Ambrosia back to 0 hits.
Just as Ambrosia gets hit while failing a reposte against one of those abominations. 1 hit again.
You finish off the trapped abomination.

6 Abominations left, 1 of them wounded.
Firmgold 1
Peg 1
Ambrosia 1

"Good …Commander.."
now shout those apparitions holding the engineer down! word of power!
Roll 3d10 for the Commander to attack, the engineer to regain himself, and for the cleric to heal Peg Leg

Rolled 2 + 2 = 4

Rolled 7, 2, 1 = 10

"Oh these fuckers are eager aren't they?"

Power Attack whichever one tries something cute

Rolled 2 = 2

Did my trap spring yet?
I slash at the nearest abomination!

Rolled 6 = 6

You are just standing around shouting orders at shadows. That looks kinda silly after all.
And while the commander finishes off the wounded apparison, the engineer and cleric are overrun and hit several times.
They are both in bad shape.
Nopony is trying anything cute. In fact, they are all beign massive dicks.
As you turn your head to check on one apparison, another quickly jabs at you. 2 hits total.
Yes it did, and you killed the abomination it trapped.
Now, a new attack wounds one of the abominations attacking Spring and Automatic.

I set up another trap to protect Spring.

Rolled 2 = 2

grab my spear and attack one of the apparitions on the cleric, as

Roll 3d10 for the Commander to attack the one against the Engineer, for the Engineer to fight back, and for the cleric to get up somehow

Rolled 10 = 10

Rolled 1, 6, 1 = 8

"You cocksucking son of a whore!"

Natural Remedy on Spring

Rolled 5 = 5

You try to, but the creature you just wounded isn't going to let you alone now. 1 hit, 2 total.
It's no time for hidling around. No time to wait as others fight, just shouting orders around.
You throw yourself forward, recovering the spear that you threw far across the room, and in the same swift, fluid motion bring it down on one of the monsters tugging at Spring Source.
The engineer fares surprisingly well, and can slash at the wounded abomination, to put it at rest.
But it's too late for Eden. He'll never have to worry anymore about his platoon, at least.
Miscalculating his steps, trying to avoid the whide swipe of your spear, he stumbles back into one abomination, ready to engulf him in his dark embrace.
Eden Stolen is no more. In his place, a shadowly figure walks, shape of a pony and hide of darkness, no mouth, and a cry to scream.
At this sight, Spring Source faints. Unknown if for the loss of blood or the gravity of the situation.
The strange concout has no effect, other than leave her coat suspiciously green.

The shards on the floor begin to vibrate.

"Commander… no.. no!"
get Miss Source up! get her conscious again!

Roll 1d10 for the engineer to fight and protect the cleric as well "I'm so sorry Mr. Automatic Spring. I couldn't…"

Rolled 5 = 5

Rolled 7 = 7

I stand near Spring Source and attack anything that comes close!

Rolled 4 = 4

"Ah fuck!"

Natural Remedy, on the double!

Rolled 5 = 5

As you try to pull Source together again, the pony that once was Eden Stolen charges at you, hitting your side.
3 hits total.
He counterattacks for 2 hits on fail, 3 on critfail.
But through the strong grip on the sword, you can hear Automatic mutter a few words.
"Leave it.. for.. later!" as he attacks and dipatches one more abomination.
You plunge yourself against one of the monsters that was about to hit Spring Source, that ends up hitting you instead. 3 hits total.
It just won't work!

Rolled 5 = 5

"i'm sorry commander"
attack Commander Storm

Roll 1d10 for Automatic Spring to do the same

Rolled 3 = 3

Rolled 10 = 10

I shoot him.

Rolled 2 = 2

You are sorry, and show it in the hesitation of your attack.
As your spears close together, for a lone instant, you think that it might all be your fault. For him, for the ponies on top of the mountain, for Spring Source. And now, if you fail, for everyone in this room.
And he can sense this in your eyes, using it at his advantage to strike true past your defences.
5 hits total.
But Automatic knows the truth. There is no more Eden there, just another enemy to crush.
And a cocky enemy is a dead enemy.
Automatic's sword trusts deep into Eden's troath, and a stream of black fluid, once maybe blood, runs from it. But the dark pony is still standing.
Your eyes full of tears can't find a target, and your weapons unload on the empty wall behind, letting the creature hit you again. 4 hits total.

"Get up… get up lady.."
getting up

Roll 1d10 for the engineer to finish it! fuck that thing!

Rolled 6 = 6

Rolled 10 = 10

pls RNG

Natural Remedy

Let's get this shit over with already

Rolled 5 = 5

I attack them with my sword!

Rolled 2 = 2

You are finally back on your hooves, looking at the room and its desolation. Your companions scattered, a few more abominations still alive, and one of your trusted allies now your worst enemy.
And as Automatic Spring stabs again at the shape of what once was his brother in arms, you can see no regret on his face. Only two big, red eyes of rage. Rage against these monsters, against the sword he's holding, the action he's taking, and against you.
But even that red is dulled down, as another spray of dark blood erupts from the now headless dark pony, that falls motionless on the ground.
It's a laugh. It's clearly a laugh! One of those abominations is laughing at you!
You throw a natural remedy agains your friends, but still to no avail. And now, now you are angry.
Trying to close your jaw against your sword you lose sight of the abomination pounding at you, but this doesn't mean it can't hit you.
But you endure. You endure it because you are the last pony standing between that thing and your loved one.
5 hits total. Not helpless, but next attack will inflict wounds.

2 abominations left.

Natural Remedy again!

Rolled 2 = 2

I need to prepare a trap…

Rolled 4 = 4

attack one of the last

Roll 1d10 as Automatic Spring does the same

Rolled 7 = 7

Rolled 9 = 9

It's not laughing anymore. Is coming for you. And as you fumble around with your concotions, it's free to hit you on your blind side. 2 hits total.
But you can't leave this spot. If you do, Spring Source will die. 1 wound.
Both of you can finally strike true and free of fears, and end up vaporizing the abomination attacking Peg.

1 abomination left.

The shards on the ground are now glowing dark blue.

"Shit! come on! Work damn you!"

Rolled 9 = 9

"No more!"

Roll 1d10 as AutoSpring does the same!

Rolled 7 = 7

Rolled 9 = 9

On who?

On the same person I've tried a million times before

Spring Source

Rolled 10 = 10

I shoot at the last abomination

Rolled 2 = 2

Jumping quickly, in what seems a perfect copy of your last attack, the both of you finally hit the last Abomination standing, as it dissolves into thin air.
Your magical vial strikes finally true, as it brings the poor cleric back to her senses, and helps the stunned Peg too.
Good thing it's already dead and you got healed from those nasty wounds, or now you'd be bleeding badly from the backfire of your firearm.

Everyone's wounds have been healed fully, hits are resetted.

The basement room is now empty, for the exception of the glowing blue shards, the book and the unconscious or maybe even dead body of the Chapel Master.
The only light is coming from the shards.

"Everyone, take a moment to collect yourselves. I fear our business here is not finished yet."
head over and try to wake the Chapel Master
"Miss? Are you alright?"

Rolled 10 = 10

I prepare a trap and look over to Spring Source.
"How are you?!"

Rolled 9 = 9

"Fuck this place. No surprise that a building this close to Everfree is full of bullshit like that."

Point at the shards and the book

She's unconscious, but still breathing. It seems no Abomination had time to attack her, so she made it through mostly unarmed.
She's still shaking.
"I.. I remember only Eden beign attacked, and then falling and then.."
She breaks into sobs, leaning against you.
On the other hoof, your trap is perfectly fine and dandy! Almost good enough to trap an elephant!

"MIss Ambrosia it is my fault you are here. For that I apologize. Truly I did not expect a struggle such as this. Wait behind me, if there is to be another attack I will dive in first. Please do your best to protect the cleric, she is what will keep you alive through this."

Rolled 10 = 10

Drag her to the door
"MIss Spring Source I would like to you stay near her."
Roll 1d10 for the cleric to heal her

Rolled 4 = 4

Rolled 4 = 4

"She hasn't done a grand fucking job so far, has she? No thanks lady, I'll rely on myself and try to keep my sister alive."

"Very well Miss Ambrosia. Again, my deepest apologies."
now inspect that book

Rolled 6 = 6

You are having an hard time moving her, since her small frame seems to have suffered bruises all over from the fall, and moving her causes her to flinch in her unconsciousness.
And there's nothing Spring Source can do about it right now.
Is still the same book that you saw before, same writings, only this time the huge circular crest on the first page is gone. But you still can't make out a word of it.

I put my hoof around her.
"And I'll keep her alive. Damn, we should have brought the others!"

Stand with her.

"Apologize to my sister, not me. I'm safe and sound behind a layer of armor here."

Punch my chestplate to illustrate this

pocket the book and try to move her again

Roll 1d10 "Miss Spring Source, please. Another try is all I ask"

Rolled 5 = 5
