Trouble is brewing in the land.
A call has been put out to all available bodies to enlist and aid in quelling an uprising in one of the western fortresses of the land - a particularly famous one known as Dragonfall.
Several enlistment camps have been hastily erected to brief the new troops. And you have gathered in one such camp.
Best get to know those you'll soon fight alongside.

451709

Start tending to my bow and quickly look around.
What's this place like?
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

451710

>>451708
I stretch and check the straps on my armor.

451711

>>451708
Nah, I'll just line up for food. There is food right? I've flown so far to get here..

451712

>>451708
Well at least it pays.
I play a bit with my knife while I walk over to the rest.
"Drexl."

451713

>>451709
Put together in a hurry. It really is more of a stage and a few tents than anything proper.
>>451711
There is a vendor hanging around selling fish and meat pies. He doesn't seem to be part of the military staff though.

A few soldiers up on stage are making some final preparations. Make note when you feel ready.

451714

>>451713
I get a meat pie then stand in front of the stage.

451715

>>451713
go buy a fish. "one catch of the day please."

451716

>>451713
I was born ready.

451717

>>451712
"Ferrari."

Strike a pose with my guqin and play a chord using Telekinesis. '1d10'

"Any requests for when we head out?"

Roll #1 7 = 7

451718

>>451712
I extend a hand.
"Always a pleasure to meet another. Drazz."

451719

>>451713
Hey, good to go.
>>451712
>>451717
"Dido.
Huntress during times of peace."

451720

>>451717
"Yeah, don't make any noise."

451721

>>451718
"Likewise."

451722

The soldiers finally get their shit organized
"Thank you all… for coming. Truth be told I was hoping for more, but I can't expect most to take up this kind of call.
The land is in need of able bodies. A rebellion has broken out in Dragonfall Fort, the lord's pride and joy. For those who aren't from around here, it was given that name after it was the site of a dragon's death. Our lord himself lead the charge, and landed the killing blow. Ever since he held great personal value over the fort. Even had the dragon mounted as a trophy.
But enough history lessons. The garrison there has turned on us and locked themselves in the fort. So far, they have repelled the army's attempts to retake the fort, so now we're trying to enlist some additional power to help outnumber them.
Once the fort is recaptured, you will all be paid in correlation to your effort in the battle.
Any questions?"

451723

>>451720
Let off a hissing ember of disapproval.

451724

>>451722
I raise one of my hands or whatever I have.

451725

>>451720
"Yeah, I doubt that's going to happen."

>>451722
I raise a hand.
"What do they want?"

451726

>>451722
"Why did they turn?"

451727

>>451722
"Why are they doing this? Are there foreign interests at play?"

451728

>>451722
I roll my eyes at the story of the king killing a dragon. "yeah, tell me about these rebels."

451729

>>451722
"Why are they rebelling?"

451730

>>451724
"Yes?"
>>451725
"It seems unclear at the time, but they may be seeking to break off from the land. Or hold the fort ransom, lest they turn it over t our enemies."
>>451726
>>451727
>>451728
"It happened almost overnight, with news of the event not reaching us until some of the guards were found wounded and left for dead in the mountain passes.
It is possible those who arranged for this rebellion are seeking favor from our western neighbors. That fort was an important deterrent, as well as a personal trophy of our lords."
>>451729
"It is not known, though we suspect they seek monetary gain from this treason."

451731

>>451723
"How do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?"

451732

>>451730
"What is the ground surrounding the fort like?"

451733

>>451730
"They're ransoming the fort? That seems pretty dumb."

451734

>>451730
"Right, how much are we getting paid again?"

451735

>>451730
"Are we going in the front door?"

451736

>>451731
"Guard uniforms are only available to trained members of the guard. You'll have to do with your outfit, chickenshit as it is."
>>451732
"The fort is built in a mountain pass. Its predecessor was built on the lower roads, but fell to several invasions and no longer sees use.
The main gate is surrounded by a fairly large open area, but the sides are impossible to approach due to the mountains aside it."
>>451733
"We have no better intel so far. No actual demands have been made."
>>451734
"That depends on your contributions. We don't pay cowards or loiterers."
>>451735
"The front gate is the only real way inside. Though efforts have been undertaken to bypass it. If all has gone well, the outer gate may be ours already."

451737

>>451736
"What are we waiting for?"

451738

>>451736
"Mountains…"
Growl quietly.
"There might be a road then."

451739

>>451736
How annoying.
Oh well, at least it pays.
I sit down and wait.

451740

>>451736
"Is it the only thing in the mountains?"

451741

>>451736
I snort at that "I'm no coward I can assure you that. And spare me the fairy tales general, I'd rather just get this job done." I comment as I finish my fish tossing the bone aside.

451742

>>451736
"We're just storming the front gate? If they're under seige, why hasn't the army decided to starve them out?"

451743

>>451742
"They might just decide to burn down the fort if they do that."

451744

>>451737
"The end of questions and answers."
>>451740
"Well there is a relatively famous canyon nearby, which was a trade route until the cyclops moved in. Some say the Dragon also came from there, but that is just a legend."
>>451742
"The lord wants the fort recaptured as soon as possible. And for now, it's impossible to say what is going on on the other side of the fort. If they decide to indeed sell it out to our neighbors, they could well let them in from the back, costing us the entire fort.
And we can ill send word to ask, as they would surely jump on such a chance."

451745

>>451744
I flutter my wings a bit irritated at more legends being told.
>>451739
"can you believe these humens? They cling to that dragon slaying story as if its actually true." I whisper to you.

451746

>>451744
"I'm done with my questions."

451747

>>451745
"Doesn't surprise me.I've heard they believe in a bearded red humen who drops presents out of the sky"

451748

>>451744
"It would seem violence is the question, and the answer is yes."

I holster my guqin and adjust my robes. What have I gotten myself into?

451749

>>451747
I laugh "Stupid humens, they'd believe anything, we could trick them into believing we're gods if we try. "

451750

>>451745
>>451746
>>451747
>>451748
"If that was all, the hold is to the northwest. Transports are restricted for now, but if you find a caravan or something, feel free to use it so long as you get there."

451751

>>451750
I go looking for a caravan.
[1d10]

Roll #1 3 = 3

451752

Attempt to pull out a wagon wheel bearing with Hat Magic. '1d10'

"Given enough time, I could assemble us a transport."

Roll #1 2 = 2

451754

>>451750
I grumble.
"Go all the trouble to hiring us and we don't even get a ride?"

451755

>>451750
I get up and make a cut in one of my arms before we go.
Bloodborn '1d10+2'

Roll #1 4 + 2 = 6

451757

>>451750
"So, we're walking then?" I roll my eyes "Lets go."
>>451754
"please don't tell me you're too tired. we've got a battle ahead of us."

451758

>>451750
"Caravan."
Humpf.
These humen can't even walk right.

451759

>>451752
The hat makes some noises that could be roughly described as "wroom wroom"
>>451754
"You may have had your own mounts or transports."
>>451755
The blood forms into a gory phantasm that looks at you with an empty gaze

When you wish to start walking, say #READY

451761

>>451757
"I'll glide, thank you."

Leave a trail of pink light in my wake.

451762

Good. Walk over to the rest

R-E-A-D-Y

I don't remember how to do that.

And so it begins.
The trip to your destination.
To help you along, you are given a map.

451770

>>451769
Let's go through the old fort.

451771

>>451769
I'd like to vote for the canyon path

451773

>>451769
WE GO THROUGH THE MOUNTAIN

451777

>>451769
"Paths seems better."

451780

>>451777
The Old Forth path.

451781

451782

>>451781
I'm for it.

451784

>>451781
"I suppose I'll follow to the old fort, but the mountains would have given us a better angle to fly- I mean come in from. "

451787

>>451784
"And we would be less expected."

451788

>>451781
Old fart.

451789

Old fort it is then.
The path begins climbing very heavily soon enough as you reach the mountainous region. Indeed a slip here might mean death. The path is wide enough for a caravan but the side is a sheer fall.

451790

>>451784
"The Old Fort will have to do. Once we reach Dragonfall we can look for sideroutes while the main battle rages at the gates."

451792

>>451784
>>451787
"But what if the clumsy humens fall off?"

451793

>>451789
I keep walking, but carefully.

451794

>>451789
I watch my step and hug the wall.

451795

>>451792
"I guess I'd have to dive after them."
>>451789
keep moving.

451797

>>451792
"Law of the wild."

451804

>>451792
"That reminds me, do any of you have preferred funerary tunes?"

451806

>>451793
>>451794
>>451795
>>451797
>>451804
The area seems quiet enough, but you have a disquieting feeling that something may be watching you.
You can see the ruins of the old fort in the distance. It will be within reach after a few more curves in the road.

451807

>>451804
"Just don't play of those fairy tales about flying humens that drink and fight all day."

451811

>>451806
How run-down is it?

451812

>>451806
'1d10' keep watching as we move toward the fort.

Roll #1 8 = 8

451814

>>451804
"Singing on a funeral is so annoying."

451816

>>451811
It seems parts of it have collapsed. But of all things, the gate seems to be lowered. Even partially repaired.
>>451812
You can see some humens skulking in the upper slopes

451817

>>451807
"I rather like the legend of Prince Vultan."

>>451806
"I think this Old Fort will do well for shelter for the night. Who has a favorite bedtime lullaby?"

451818

>>451816
"Well that's not good. Someone's been using this place."

451819

>>451816
>>451817
>>451818
I put a finger to my mouth. and point toward the sulking humens.

451820

>>451816
Can I see anything threatening?
[1d10]

Roll #1 4 = 4

451821

>>451820
Nope.
Just nice, friendly rocks.

451822

>>451819
I'm on high alert.
"Get ready."
Motion my blood minion to get next to me.

451823

451824

>>451822
It stands ready, flowing into place at your side.

451825

>>451823
"attackers ahead" I whisper to you.

451827

>>451825
"What? Where?"

>>451819
I look around for them.
[1d10]

Roll #1 5 = 5

451828

>>451819
"Oh, yes, not that I'm one to rush into danger, you go right on and scout ahead. I've got your back. Way, way back."

451829

>>451827
"Ush! You will make them wise of our presence!"

451838

>>451827
Can I see them?

Roll #1 5 = 5

451839

maybe I can shoot one of the humens down? '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

451845

>>451838
>>451827
Just rocks here.
Nothing but-
>>451839
You miss by a mile, but get their attention.
Five female humen leap down from the cliff
"We don't take kindly to trespassers.
…but we might forgive you. You are kinda cute."

451848

>>451845
"Absolutely disgusting."

451850

>>451845
"Well, you aren't too stealthy. What's your game in this?"

451853

>>451845
"What? You aren't rebels?"

451854

>>451845
"Wonderful. And who do you think you are?"

451855

>>451848
"Yeah. You are. Now shut your man-whore mouth."
>>451850
"We're the greeting committee. For a little payment, we'll open the gates for you, and nobody needs to get hurt."
"Usually we take payment in gold.
But from a nice thing like you we might accept other services, if you want to meet up with the boss~"
>>451853
"Pff. Typical male. Of course not. What do we have to gain from some rebellion? We have a perfectly profitable business here."
>>451854
"We are the Rouge Rogues, a small startup group of architectural restoration enthusiasts and infrastructure taxation specialists."

451856

>>451855
"This is none of our business.
We should be on the move again."

451857

>>451855
"What business? I don't see any shops."

451859

>>451855
"That's funny. Where I come from, vertebrae are seen as the most ugly characteristic possible on any creature.
And you've got A LOT of vertebrae."

451860

>>451857
"I'm pretty sure they mean highway robbery."

451861

>>451855
"Well, myself I could just fly over your little gate, but these guys." I motion behind me "They need the gate, can we work out something to let them by no fuss?"

451864

>>451860
"How adorably sharp of you."
>>451861
"Passage is a hundred thrones each, or the equivalent. Men pay double."

451867

>>451864
We are in a mountain pass, right?
Fire a Remote Charge to the stone and snow right above us.
'1d10+2'

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10

451868

>>451867
"Passage is free. Or you all die with us."

451869

>>451864
"How about this…you let us pass and I'll be very gently while I exsanguinate your blood to feed my minion."

451876

>>451864
I shake my head "That's way more than these humens are paying us to take out their rebels." I smile "Maybe I should work with you girls instead."

451878

>>451868
>>451867
"Well… shit.
Girls?"
>>451869
"Shush. We're trying to talk."

They huddle up for a few words
"…How about we let the boss decide on this? We can't really open the gate for you from here, since the controls are in the fort ruin."
"Aaaand we're not too big on the avalanche death either."

451882

>>451860
I laugh at the idea.
"That's a crime, not a business."

>>451878
"Smart ladies."

451887

>>451878
"You sit here until we talk it with the boss though. Where is she?"

451888

>>451882
"True, but apparently they make a living."

451892

>>451882
"Sounds like they are making more than we will be, considering we might be getting nothing at all if we're deemed cowards. "

451893

>>451888
"But crime doesn't pay."

451894

>>451887
"Her name is Mulan the Rouge.
You might want at least a few of us there so the sentries don't jump you."

451895

>>451894
"Like they wouldn't anyway the second you walk free?"

451896

>>451894
"Oh but I'm not going anywhere. If I have to blow this thing, I go down with you."
>>451892
"Hey.
What about finding that leader of theirs and negotiating while I puppysit them?"

451899

>>451894
"You want to be taken hostage? Is this some kind of game? I do like games."
>>451896
"Well, sure, I'll see if I can't convince her to open up the gate for you fellows, I'll probably need to carry one of these girls with me or they won't believe me."

451901

>>451899
"Pick one."

451904

>>451896
"That's a shame. See, Mulan won't talk to men, regardless of race."
"She's kinda like that."
>>451899
"Clever, ain't you? She's in the tower at the fort ruins."

451908

>>451904
"Why not?"

451909

>>451904
smile "So, which of you girls is coming with me?" I glace at the five of them.

451913

>>451909
I frown.
"Not me. I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to stand this person."

451915

>>451909
All five lift a hand
>>451908
"'cause men are pigs? I dunno. She just likes girls more."

451918

>>451915
"I'm not a pig. I'm a hork."
I thump by armored chest with an armored fist.

451924

>>451915
I laugh and pick the smallest one. "come on then, lets see what Mulan is doing."
>>451913
"I'll be back soon."

451931

>>451924
As you fly to the ruin, the bandit waves a signal at the sentries atop the wall to hold their fire.
It seems all the bandits here are female…

451932

>>451931
They said as much before, this isn't surprising. take her into the fort and set her down, try to make note of where the gate opening mechanisms are '1d10' "So, where is Mulan?"

Roll #1 8 = 8

451933

>>451931
I frown.
At ALL of them.

451935

>>451931
So…
In the meanwhile, I will chill here in the snow with the other ladies.
"So, you got a thing against dicks or something?"

451936

>>451931
""So…do any of you ladies know anything about the rebels?"

451937

>>451931
"Wonderful…"
I sit down and glare up at them.

451949

>>451932
Must in the other tower that connects to the gate. Seems it has been partially rebuilt with tents and timber.
A few bandits gather around you
"Hey there."
"New arrival?"
"Always nice to see more Drakin around…"
>>451935
"Not directly. When it's served with the right kind of attitude."
"Mulan kinda does though."
>>451936
"You mean that lot of weirdos that keep flocking to Dragonfall?"

451951

>>451949
"Them, yes."

451954

>>451949
"That's unnatural."

451956

>>451949
"Maybe if we work something out. Right now I need to speak with Mulan about letting some.." I look a little disgusted and whisper it "Men by, part of a job I'm already on, it'd be bad business to leave them without a way by."

451958

>>451949
"Yeah. They've been causing quite a bit of trouble lately."

451969

>>451951
>>451958
"Strange lot. Been hauling all sorts of reagents and herbs and crystals and junk. But they pay the toll so what do we care"
>>451956
"You looking to pay in gold or in goods?"
One of then gives you a little friendly slap on the tail

451970

>>451969
This place is so filthy. Find a spot away from the vertebraes '1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

451974

>>451969
"Gold is a girl's best friend ya know." I smile and tap her butt with tail. "Maybe we can talk fun after that."

451981

>>451970
Did you come to the fort or stay down on the road?
>>451974
"You should fit right in. This way."
They take you towards the larger half of the ruin, which seems to have also been partially rebuilt as a camp and large house

451986

>>451969
"What for?"

451987

>>451981
"Looks like you're pretty well set up in these ruins." I comment as I follow.

451992

>>451981
I came to the fort. But I don't like it here.
My feet hurt and there are smelly humens everywhere.

451993

>>451987
"Well the place was abandoned so we settled down here. We make good bank off caravans."
They take you to the camp
"Mulan should be inside her quarters in the mansion. I hope you brought something nice to give her."
>>451992
A pair grab you. Though one is a myrmid.
"You there. Man."
"Who gave you any rights to stand around?"

451996

451998

>>451969
Reagents? Herbs? Crystals?
Do I have any clues about what all that could be used for?

Roll #1 7 = 7

452003

>>451998
Sounds like someone is preparing for a big spell.
>>451986
"Not a clue. Magic perhaps?"

452004

>>451993
"Hey, you don't hear me complaining about that awful fishy smell coming from your reproductive glands."

452005

>>451993
"Thanks. I'll see you girls soon." I smile "Name's Kinyu by the way." I head into the mansion, does it look complicated? '1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

452007

>>452003
"What sort? Bad magic?"

452009

>>452007
"Big magic, whatever it is."

452011

>>452004
"That's cute. How about you show off your reproductive glands then if you're so fond of talking about them?"
>>452005
Not really. It was once just a a few rooms of a tower that was given a new front wall.
There are several bandits inside though, eying you.
>>452007
She shrugs

452012

>>452011
Let them watch, I'll just knock on what looks like the fanciest door.

452015

>>452011
I tap my foot while waiting for that drakin woman to get back.
"Do you ladies have names?"

"That would not be appropriate, unlike you barbarians I have a sense of decency."

452025

>>452012
The door opens to a rather spacious room filled with some nice beds and brimming with gold and valuables.
At the back reclines what you assume is Mulan, given how she is draped in her prized bitches.
"And who might you be?"
>>452015
"Sure we do."
"What's it to you?"
>>452019
"Ha. A man with decency. What a laugh."
"You should feel honored we even let you speak here."

452031

>>452025
"Yeah, what is it to you? We're not here to make friends with them."

452032

>>452025
I bow respectful to her "I'm Kinyu, a drakin."

452033

>>452025
Is it just these 2 or are there more smelly humen females in view?

452036

>>452025
"I'm bored and trying to make conversation."

452041

>>452032
"I can see that. It's a rare and pleasant sight to see more drakin around here. Indeed you're almost the only one here.
Come to talk business?"
>>452033
Well it's not just humens around here. You can spot a drakin as well, and one of the two is a myrmid.

452044

>>452041
You've gotta be kidding me, one of them is a myrmid?
"You disappoint me, sister. How disgraceful of you to associate yourself with these…lesser races."

452046

>>452041
"Right to the point then, I understand you're in charge here. I want to barter for safe passage for some friends of mine, well not so much friends as work associates."

452051

>>452044
I told you earlier.
"Stay your tongue before I relieve you of it. You aren't exactly valuable to any of us."
>>452046
"And this is a matter that is worth bringing to me?
Ugh. Why do I even keep those useless bimbos in the outer patrols…
A hundred thrones or an equal value in goods or… services. Each."

452052

452057

>>452036
"How cute. Can you do tricks?"

452059

>>452057
"Tricks?"

452063

>>452057
Hey I have an idea.
Mimic the sound of a ticking bomb and then do the 'boom' motion with my paws.

452064

>>452051
I blink "Well, there is the issue of their unfortunate birth, they are not part of the superior gender you see. And being as such they're prone to violence and smashing things, they wanted to smash some rocks on your scouts."

452065

>>452057
"Hey, lay off him."

452069

>>452051
So you did.
I'm horribly distracted.
"I guess that means we have one thing in common after all."

452075

>>452059
"Can you stand on your head? Do a little dance?"
>>452063
The look worried
"It's not our fault your dragon-lady is taking her sweet time!"
>>452064
"Well ain't that a shame. They get to pay triple then, for being stubborn.
Or I could keep one of them as a trophy."
>>452069
"Enough with that smart mouth of yours."
She grabs you by the face
"Now either start sounding more respect ful or be quiet."

452078

>>452075
"Not in this armor. Can you?"
These are all humens, right?

452079

>>452075
"Maybe it was an ambush and now she's dead.
And you and I are next."

452083

>>452075
"Ah, but I thought I could offer my services if you would ignore their unfortunate disposition and let them pass freely. Either my bow or other things would be yours to use."

452089

>>452078
Yes.
"We prefer not to wear something so butch and cumbersome."
>>452079
"You want me to go there and ask?"
>>452083
"Well Drakin are a rare treat. Do you think you can bring something new to someone like me? I doubt your bow is even close to the asked value."

452090

>>452075
I push her off my face '1d10'
"You expect me to be respectful while both of you started with these insults? Go suck a dick."

Roll #1 5 = 5

452091

>>452089
"I can see that. So, can you stand on your heads and dance or not?"

452093

>>452089
"What I mean to say is that I'd join you once my business with these beasts is throu, they want their castle back from the rebels and agreed to pay me well enough to see it throu, but no well enough to stick around long after.. Or if you prefer I could join you for a while now.." I motion to the bed and check her reaction.

452096

>>452079
"You're awfully eager to kill yourself."

452101

>>452090
She pushes you over
"Alright then. Lets see it."
>>452091
"Maybe we can."
"But why would we put a show on for you?"
>>452093
"You speak some pretty tough stuff, dragon. I like that.
Maybe I'll let you prove yourself worth recruiting."
She pats the bed and her previous company slinks away from it

452102

>>452089
That depends.
Can I see the place from here?

452104

>>452101
"Why not? You five must be as bored as we are."

452105

>>452102
You can see the gates and walls.

452109

Let's try.

"We're more scared than bored to be honest."
>>452121

"Put some effort into it!"

Still. I'll be generous and let you all off this once.
Come back when you feel like it~"
>>452148

>>452159
"I've never seen humans dance before, and you all danced wonderfully. Is dancing part of your culture?"

452171

>>452159
"I'll say. Don't tell me that's how you get people to pay your toll."

452173

>>452163
It seems a band of them are trying to strip down Drexl
>>452167
>>452171
"We usually reserve that for Mulan. But between that and the avalanche… yeah."

452174

>>452159
I grit my teeth and smile.
"You got me by surprise. But I'm not scared of you, none of you.
What are you going to do? Hurt me?"
Sacrifice my blood minion to heal.

452179

>>452173
I clear my throat. "Sorry, ladies. That one's with me, and I've taken care of his passage already."

452182

>>452173
"What a strange pack."
Step away.
"This is strange.
The drakin is taking too long.
If she doesn't come back soon, I am blowing this up."

452183

>>452173
"Have any of you considered being traveling dancers instead? It's probably a lot safer than being a bandit and you all get to be your own bosses."

452185

>>452180
"Sorry it took me a while, Mulan isn't as easy to reach as you would think."

452188

>>452185
"I can handle myself."

452192

>>452180

The gate opens as the bandits lift it.
Looks like the path is clear.

452193

>>452185
"That was too long. Anything happened?"

452197

>>452192
That's right.
I walk out without saying shit.
Can my blood minion talk anyway?

"I am just surprised.
I do not understand."

452218

>>452215
"Weren't you supposed to negotiate our way through? What's this about paying a toll?"

452219

>>452215
"We should have just blown them all up." I mumble

452220

>>452218
"I did negotiate a much more reasonable payment. You all should be thanking me, not giving me the run down about how, what and why I did it."
>>452216

"Lets just get this mission over with okay?"

452222

>>452220
"Yes let's keep going."

>>452220
"You are strange."
Keep walking.

452230

>>452220
"Fine, fine. I'm still gonna report them once all this is over."

>>452227
I turn around.
"Yeah?"

452231

>>452226
One of the dancers tries to get your attention as you turn to leave
>>452229
>>452230
"Mistress Mulan has a request for you, if you're willing to do her a favor.
A small hit in exchange for the support of her band with your cause at Dragonsfall."

452232

>>452231
I stop and walk over to her.
"Yes?"

452233

>>452231
hmm "Let me take a look at the target."

452234

>>452231
"A hit? Really?"

452235

>>452232
She motions you to bend down so she can whisper in your ear

452236

>>452231
I look at the others.
"I advise against that. We can't trust them."

452237

>>452233
>>452234
"A rival group of bandits keeps their pet cyclops in the canyon some way from here. Bring its eye to us, and we'll join your cause."

452238

>>452235
I bend down and lift my helmet so I can hear her better.

452239

>>452237
Stay silent.

452240

>>452237
"Anything we should know about these rival bandits before we go after them?"

452242

>>452237
"And why would we want your help after you extort us?"

452244

>>452238
"Is it true Horks are big in all respects?
…'cause I think I might want to leave this place, and I'd need someone with a big heart to keep me safe"

>>452242
"I dunno. If you prefer to go alone, suit yourselves."
>>452240
"They smell bad, are loud, and probably like that cyclops because it, too, smells bad and is loud."

452245

>>452244
"Alright I'll see what I can do about them, you say they're up on the canyon pass?"

452246

>>452244
I chuckle a bit.
"Yes, we are very big. I will do my best to keep you safe."

452247

>>452244
I just keep my distance.

452248

>>452246
"Come get me out of here after you're done ok?"
>>452245
"Yes. They have a little camp there for the cyclops and its handlers."

452249

>>452248
"I will."
I smile at her before putting my helmet on and catching up with the others.

>>452316
Massive.
They probably have a similar opening mechanism as the one at the waycastle ruins though, as the design is similar.

452319

>>452318
I'll Slam the nearest enemy instead.
[1d10+2]

Roll #1 7 + 2 = 9

452320

>>452318
Where are the enemies? How many?

452321

>>452318
"We're going to have to open those."

452322

>>452320
There seems to be plenty of dudes up on the battlements, preoccupied with shooting down at the invading loyalists.
>>452319
You slam into a nearby guard, knocking him senseless with a surprise assault

452323

>>452322
Haha. Good we shall find their leader and exsanguinate him.
What looks like a good starting point '1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

452324

You had just climbed up from an abandoned well and found yourselves on the inner yard of Dragonfall, past the main gate where the lord's forces are battling.

The gate controls are in the tower next to the gate. It may be possible to sneak up there with minimal battle, or just storm it.
Alternatively, you could just assault the main fort now that the battle at the gate has everyone's attention.

453739

>>453737
"We should assault the main fort now."

453740

>>453739
I nod "Fine."

453749

>>453739
"I say we go for the gatehouse."

453752

>>453749
"The main fort is undefended, this is our chance to go in and surprise their leader, as is our mission".

453757

>>453752
"You'd turn down free help?"

453759

>>453757
"We would lose the major advantage of surprise, I feel our chances would be much better by using speed instead of securing backup."

453762

>>453759
"One or two of us could go open the gate."

453763

>>453762
"I feel this is not a good course of action, but as we are wasting valuable time, I will comply.
Let us go to the gate."

453764

>>453759
"Well that's one way of looking at it."

>>453762
"Let's put it to a vote."

453767

>>453763
I'll try to sneak up to the gate controls '1d10'
