It has been so long since Radiant last felt the sun of the South on her face. Smelled the air of Equestria. Heard the familiar birds and saw landmarks from long ago.
But it is but a small way away now. Despite a rocky start with some… guides, Celaire agreed to pay the tolls to get them guided through the nation.
Now they have arrived at the gate-city of Westwatch, the final place between them and Northern Equestria.

CHAPTER 1 - Wayward Embraced

442516

>>442511
Keep on walking.
This pilgrimage will be worth it.
How does that city look like?

442525

>>442516
Rich, if utilitarian.
As a border guard, it is well fortified. Most notably, the valley that connects Equestria and Snowborder is entirely walled off, and features a massive gate that allows caravans and travelers to pass.

442529

>>442525
Waste no time then.
Head for the massive gate.

442532

>>442529
You pass through the city, paying little mind to the buildings and guards.
Soon you reach the checkpoint at the gate.
There is a line.

442536

>>442532
How long is it?

442539

>>442536
'1d100' ponies

Roll #1 4 = 4

442540

>>442539
So not very

442544

>>442540
Stand in line then.
Glance around a bit, now that I have time.

442555

>>442544
There seem to be several sub-gates to allow for more or less traffic. This seems to be a quiet day, so only one is open.
There is a little commotion in the checkpoint, and one of the ponies comes out, looking grumpy
From inside, a voice calls "NEXT"

442567

>>442555
Well, take a step closer, the ponies in front of me will probably move as well.
Anything else worth noting?

442572

>>442567
The top of the wall is heavily armed, with catapults, ballistae and various fortified positions.
The walls are sheer, and impossible to climb on the outside.
"NEXT"

442575

>>442572
Another step forward.
And the ponies?

442584

>>442575
This early in the morning, they all look kinda sleepy.
The guards are well groomed and very presentable.
The travelers seem to be a a merchant of some kind, and an adventurer.
"NEXT"

442587

>>442584
Another step forward.
Well, I still have everything I started out with, right?

442590

>>442587
Well, most of it.
Not a lot of money left though.

442592

>>442590
I don't need money where I am going.

442594

>>442592
"NEXT"

442598

>>442594
Step forward.

442602

>>442598
And before you know it, it is your turn.

442605

>>442602
Step forward again then.
What kind of customs are here to pass?

442606

>>442605
Seems there are two booths, but only one is open.
A pony is sitting behind it, keeping an eye on you.

442608

>>442606
"Good day to you. I would like to pass."

442612

>>442608
"Ön férfi vagy nő?"

442616

>>442612
Tilt my head a bit and flick my ear.
"Excuse you?"

442619

>>442616
"útlevelét azt mondja a nő, igaz ez?"

442624

>>442619
"I'm sorry, I do not understand."

442630

>>442624
"jól, hogy ez a probléma nem csúnya tehén"

442636

>>442630
I look at him confusedly.
"Does… that mean I can pass?"

442646

>>442636
The exit gate remains closed.
He looks grumpy.
Though on the wall you can nice an advent
[Phrasebooks available at Transfat and Literary's]

442648

>>442646
I sigh.
Is that place in sight from here?

442654

>>442648
Seems to be one of the houses a little down the road back towards the city.

442655

>>442654
Nothing I can do then.
Go there.

442665

>>442655
A pair of ponies are dusting the shop as they open it
"Welcome, welcome"
"What are you doing here?"

442675

>>442665
"I don't understand a word at the gate and I need to pass."

442681

>>442675
"Sounds like you need a phrasebook"
"That'll be 50, please"

442685

>>442681
"Fifty what?"
How much do I have?

442689

>>442685
"Fifty thrones."
He looks at you like you're dumb or something.
You have… '1d50'

Roll #1 34 = 34

442694

>>442689
"I'm afraid I don't have that much."

442697

>>442694
"Got anything to trade?"

442704

>>442697
"Not much, I'm afraid."

442715

>>442704
"Well too bad."
"We don't give out discounts."

442721

>>442715
Take off the tiara Celaire gave me.
"How much would this worth?"

442732

>>442721
"…eeeh…"
"…about twenty?"

442743

>>442732
Narrow my eyes.
"We all know it is worth much more."

442744

>>442743
"Oh well I suppose you can go wait until monday for the second hoof store to open too…"

442750

>>442744
I snort in annoyance.
"Fine. Just give me that damned book."

442762

>>442750
"Pleasure doing business with you"
They both smirk, and hand you a little book

442765

>>442762
Rotten little thieves, it's obvious this is a setup with the teller at the gate.
Leave before I get the urge to break off those smiles from their faces.

Back to the gate.

442766

>>442765
The line is now '1d11-1' ponies

Roll #1 11 - 1 = 10

442767

>>442766
Well, get in line again.
And take a look at that book.

442778

>>442767
Seems simple enough. Indeed it seems most phrases here are related to travel.

442781

>>442778
Wait in line for now then.

442786

>>442781
Soon enough it's your turn again.

442791

>>442786
Okay, step there, open up this booklet, and…
Something about needing to pass the border.
Find some phrase like that.
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

442793

>>442791
After you find the correct phrase after ten minutes of flipping pages, the border guard closes the booth.

442796

>>442793
What?
"Hey!"

442811

>>442796
The other booth is opened up
"NEXT!"

442813

>>442811
Step there.
Say whatever line I have found the best I can.

442814

>>442813
The pony behind you in line bumps in front of you
"End of the line mister, he called next."

442817

>>442814
"They just shut the booth in front of my face. I have had enough waiting and trouble with this place."

442821

>>442817
"Oh go write a book about it."

442837

>>442821
Snarl at him, but go back to the end of that line.
Unbelievable.

442842

>>442837
The line is now '1d20' ponies

Roll #1 18 = 18

442855

>>442842
Wait.
Even if I'm growing increasingly agitated.

442858

>>442855
"Next."
17 to go.

442866

>>442858
Ugh…

442869

>>442866
"Next"
Just 16 more

442877

>>442869
I want to be home already…

442886

>>442877
"Next."
It'll be noon soon…
'1d10' to go

Roll #1 2 = 2

442888

>>442886
Step forward, Equestria soon…
Look up at the Sun.

442898

>>442888
Yep.
That's the sun.
"NEXT!"

442901

>>442898
Step forward.
Is it my turn yet?
If it is, look at the damn phrase I got earlier.

442904

>>442901
You put a bookmark at the right phrase.
[I wish to go to Equestria - Van egy nagyon feszes fenék]

442913

>>442904
Can I even pronounce that?

442914

>>442913
I don't know. Can you?

442915

>>442914
Can I?
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

442916

>>442915
"Sorry. I don't speak Pongarian."

442919

>>442916
Grind my teeth.
"I just want to pass to Equestria already."

442920

>>442919
"What is the purpose and length of your visit?"

442921

>>442920
"Going home… probably indefinitely."

442931

>>442921
"What goods are you transporting with you?"

442936

>>442931
"Nothing. Just my personal belongings."

442937

>>442936
"Are you male or female?"

442940

>>442937
Deadpan look.
"Female."

442943

>>442940
"Do you have documentation as proof of that?"

442946

>>442943
"My word is my proof."

442950

>>442946
"Papers, please."

442952

>>442950
"I do not have documents."

442956

>>442952
"Then I cannot let you pass."

442961

>>442956
"My documents were lost years ago.
And I need to get back to Equestria. Don't keep me."

442965

>>442961
"Then requisition new ones. Without proof of your nationality or even gender, I cannot allow you to pass."

442968

>>442965
"How can I requisit new papers if you don't let me in the country I am from?"

442971

>>442968
He checks his guidebook
'1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

442972

>>442971
>>442968
"How did you get in here without papers in the first place?"

442974

>>442972
"I do not know. I had amnesia. I woke up in Wintergrasp without any memories or belongings."

442979

>>442974
"So you are an illegal immigrant?"

442980

>>442979
"I did not come here on my own accord."

442982

>>442980
"So you are contraband?"

442985

>>442982
"No.
I woke up, far away from home, without any memories, possibly from a curse. And now I want to go home."

442993

>>442985
"I'm marking you down as an unlicensed exotic pet.
Take this slip to the Equestrian side border guard, and ask him to refer you to the Equestrian Pet Registry. Once there, get yourself an ID number, return here, and I can add you to the confirmed registry, so I can let you pass to Equestria, get a passport, come back here, and we can continue the emigration process."
He stamps a slip and gives it to you
"NEXT"

443002

>>442993
Okay Radiant, no yelling…
Go to the Equestrian side of the border, and seek out the border guard there.

443005

>>443002
His booth is about two feet away, on the other side of the gate.
"Afternoon."

443010

>>443005
"Good day… I suppose you are Equestrian?"

443013

>>443010
"I am.
And you are?"

443023

>>443013
"Radiant Isabella Goldentail Dawn. I was born in Equestria, raised there, I served there… but all the proof I have of this are my words. Years ago I found myself without any memories up here in the North, but as I regained myself and started to remember, I… I just want to be home again."
Point at the Pendant.
"It's been so long since I last felt the warmth of Her Sun, last met ponies who admire the Princess just as I do, but the ponies here."
Show him the slip.
"They have no respect for me. But you are a fellow Equestrian. You do understand me, don't you?"

443028

>>443023
"Are you male or female?"

443030

>>443028
I sigh.
"Female."

443033

>>443030
He snickers a bit
"Sorry. I just like to use that phrase. I hear him-"
He nods towards the Snowborder side
"-say it so much it just cracks me up by now.
So, is there anything I can do to aid you?"

443036

>>443033
"Just let me go home. To Equestria. Nothing more."

443041

>>443036
"Well technically you are already here.
Do you have any town you might want to go to?"

443043

>>443041
Nod.
"Canterlot."

443047

>>443043
"Right. Popular place.
There are some coaches nearby if you want a ride. It is quite a way south of here."

443051

>>443047
"Do they cost anything?
If so, then I will have to set out on hoof."

443056

>>443051
"No money huh?
…let me guess. Phrasebook?"

443058

>>443056
Nod with a hint of annoyance.
"Yes. And it was useless too."

443062

>>443058
"An old story.
Look, I'll buy it off you for whatever they made you pay. I know those guys, and can beat the money out of them later."

443068

>>443062
"They wanted 50 thrones. I didn't have that much, so I gave them the only thing I could. A tiara I got some time ago…"

443070

>>443068
"Was it valuable?"

443072

>>443070
"More valuable than to end up as a prize of scammers for sure."

443075

>>443072
"Well. I'll try my best to have it returned to you."

443081

>>443075
"Thank you. What is your name?
I will make sure your kindness and willingness to help will not go unheard."

443084

>>443081
"Ashmead"

443087

>>443084
Nod.
"Thank you, Ashmead."
Motion towards Equestria with a hoof.
"So now… may I?"

443089

>>443087
"You may."
He tosses you a bag of coins
"That's about 50 thrones worth of Bits.
Welcome home, Radiant Dawn."

444674

>>443089
Nod my thanks to him again, then pass the border.
Take a few steps on my homeland again.
Take a deep breath of the air here.
Look up at the Sun.

444682

>>444674
It sure is bright and warm here.
Even though this is the very northern edge of Equestria, it already feels a lot warmer than the frigid northlands.

444683

>>444682
Finally…
Let's head to those carriages.

444685

>>444683
A few of the carriage pullers are trotting in place, keeping their legs ready.
A couple of others are napping.

444686

>>444685
Approach one of the eager-to-go ones.
"Good day."
Show bag of bits.
"Would this be enough to get me to Canterlot?"

444688

>>444686
"Oh easily ma'am."
Another butts in
"I'll do it for half his price!"
"You'll do it at a third of my speed too, for all we know!"

444690

>>444688
"The faster and more reliable, the better."

444692

>>444690
The first one grins and takes the coin purse
"Right this way ma'am."
He takes you to his carriage. It is red, with little wings atop the wheels.

444694

>>444692
Take my seat then.
"Thank you."

444696

>>444694
"Canterlot Castle it is then.
Hold on tight, this might get a bit bumpy!"
He then zooms off, reaching Canterlot in '1d12' hours.

Roll #1 3 = 3

444698

>>444696
From what I head that's pretty fast for such a travel

444700

>>444698
"Here we are ma'am.
Canterlot… Castle."
He then falls on his face and falls asleep on the spot.

You are in the lowlands beneath Canterlot Castle. It will be a short walk from here to reach the outer gates.

444701

>>444700
He did a good job though.
Nod a silent thanks to him anyway, and start walking towards the Castle.

444703

>>444701
Quite a bit of hustle and bustle going on. Lots of ponies going in and out. Merchants, officials, guards, messengers…

444705

>>444703
All of them Equestrians!
All of them loving the Princess!
All of them bathing in this warm!
Keep on!

444707

>>444705
Aaand then you are stopped by the gate guards
"Halt."
"What business?"

444709

>>444707
"I am here for an audience with Princess Celestia."

444710

>>444709
"We have not been informed of such an appointment"

444713

>>444710
"You couldn't have. I just finished my travels from far away to serve Her."

444714

>>444713
"So you've come to enlist in the Guard then? The Princess does not handle that. Talk to a recruitment officer."

444717

>>444714
"You misunderstood.
I have been a Paladin of Princess Celestia all my life. She gave my life a purpose."
I sigh.
"Unfortunately, some years ago, I was robbed of my memories and woke up in a distant land. This day, I have returned to serve Her once again."

444718

>>444717
They look incredulous
"Do you perhaps need a doctor?"

444721

>>444718
"Do I look like I am joking?
Just let me speak with Her Highness."

444723

>>444721
"You sound like you're a highly incompetent assassin if anything. Come with us. We'll get this sorted out."

444725

>>444723
"You can be assured I would never even think of hurting Her."
Nod.
"But if going with you is what it takes. My intentions are true. Lead the way, and I shall follow."

444727

>>444725
One of the guards leads you inside and flags down a pair of others
"Take this one to get checked. She claims to have suffered from memory loss and is a returning servant."

444728

>>444727
Be patience.
I'm close now…

444730

>>444728
Be patient.
Have pacience.
You get it.

444731

>>444728
"This way."
They take you to an infirmary, and soon enough a medic comes to take a look at you
"Memory loss?"

444734

>>444731
Nod.
"Most likely inflicted by magic."
Technically, I'm not lying. Even if the curse is not detectable, that donkey must have left a trace.

444735

>>444734
Let's have a look then.
He touches your head with his horn and falls silent for a moment

444736

>>444735
Let him do his work.

444737

>>444736
"Who are you?"

444739

>>444737
"Radiant Isabella Goldentail Dawn, Paladin of the Sun, Servant of Princess Celestia."

444741

>>444739
"Paladin…
…when were you born?"

444748

>>444741
"In the year of 751, from the marriage of Morning Dew and Golden Shine."

444751

>>444748
He looks deeply confused
"And just… how old are you?"

444754

>>444751
"I am thirty-five."

444759

>>444754
"This… makes no sense…
If you were born in 751, you'd be over 200 by now."

444762

>>444759
"I am telling the truth, since that was what you have asked me.
And I can assure you I do not suffer from any mental illness. I did tell the guards about the issue."

444766

>>444762
"I can see no evidence in your head of lies or dark intentions…
…if this is all true…
Lord Starswirl must be informed at once."

444767

>>444766
"…Can't I see Princess Celestia first?"

444768

>>444767
"Not until we know what manner of power we are dealing with here.
I will also inform the captains, and have then check for your name among the MIA lists.
Please, we should go at once."

444769

>>444768
I nod.
"Right then…"
So close!

444776

>>444769
You are taken through the castle to a remote, tall tower above a library. The guards are particularly silent and unmoving. Worryingly so.
However you are quickly lead upstairs and into the top chamber, filled with books, scrolls and magical equipment
"Lord Starswirl!"
A seemingly ancient, bearded pony levitates into view from one of the higher bookshelves
"Yes, Cascade?"
"I believe I may have found what you've been looking for."
The bearded one turns to look at you
"A time-lost?"
"Indeed, my lord."

444778

>>444776
I don't think I have to try to avoid to seem insane in front of the guards anymore.
"So you are the pony I head and read about.
The one who they said might know more about my curse."

444781

>>444778
"Go on."

444785

>>444781
"I'm not from this time, apparently.
I woke up in the North without any possessions or memories of how I got there.
I regained enough to know who I truly am, and what my destiny is…"
Sigh a bit as I think back to my time spent there.
"Yet I still don't know how or why I ended up here."

444789

>>444785
"So you came to me to seek answers?"

444794

>>444789
"No.
I came to see Princess Celestia again."

444797

>>444794
"Or so you think.
However, I fear she is not the one who can help you overcome your curse of time.
Tell me… when you were in the north… did it sever feel like you were, hm, in several places at the same time? Talking to multiple ponies, none aware of the others, as if you existed in many times at once?"

444810

>>444797
"I didn't want so see Her because that… I just miss Her so much…..

Uh.. come again?"

444815

>>444810
"During your time in the north, did you ever experience that sort of sensation?"

444816

>>444815
I try to think back.
"I… maybe? I don't know. How could I even know that?"

444818

>>444816
"No matter. Had that been true, it would have shed light on another theory I had.
Now, lets get to work on sending you back where you belong."

444823

>>444818
"Wait, already?
But I didn't even get to see the Princess yet!"

444827

>>444823
"Time is a concept easily lost to one that has an endless supply of it.
But perhaps we can come to an agreement.
Allow me to unlock the secrets inside your mind, and I will see to it that Celestia will grant you an audience."

444828

>>444827
Scrunch.
"How much time will that take?"

444829

>>444828
"Hard to say. That depends on what I find in there."

444851

>>444829
"Do it then."

444856

>>444851
"Very well."
It is hard to tell just how long he spent in there.
Time seems to fly by, yet stand still…

444858

>>444856
Well tap one of my front hooves a bit.
And think about what I should say when I finally meet Her.
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

444865

Of my parents.
Of my sister, Dawn.
How much fun we had, how much we loved each other, even if we argued a lot…
How it was always me to get her out of trouble.
Think about my friends, Treble, Bouncy, all those good times to be had…

Can you think of a special day? An event? A celebration?"

Uh…
Think of the day I chased away the shadows from the Everfree with the help of Princess Celestia! She even knew my name, and I woke up with a Cutie mark!
Oh!
Think of the day I first saw Celestia in person, raising the Sun during the Summer Sun Celebration!

The throne next to her seems to be empty.
Aside from her, there are some soldiers here. Most dressed in golden garb, somewhat heavier and more ornate than that of the guards.
And of course, the princess herself.
Her mane flowing in an unseen wind, her tiara reflecting the rays of the sun, and her eyes, cold and piercing, yet full of fire, fixed upon you.

For my loyalty and servitude as a royal guard, willingness to carry out the most perilious tasks in Your name, and unwavering faith, You gave me the title Princess Celestia's Embraced, Your Highness."

She smiles as if she had just bypassed some great problem
"Ah. One of Our Embraced. Perfect. This makes things a whole lot easier.
Though We do not remember naming anyone Sun's Fury… nor do We think that's a real title. But given your status as time-lost, We suppose you can keep it if you wish. As a nickname of sorts.

Now, is there anything else you needed?

"Radiant Dawn, Paladin of the Sun."

446902

"The other Embraced have resting quarters in the east wing of the palace ground floor if you wish to join them.
I fear that though the day is over, I still have duties to attend to, unless you need me for something more?"

446906

>>446902
Look around quick.
"Well… I don't want to seem rude, or blasphemous… but did Princess Celestia have a hard day this morning? Bad news maybe? She seemed a bit… colder, than usual."

446911

"Her mood seemed fine to me. Though to the untrained ear, her tone can be rather harsh.
I think it's that impersonal royal We."

446918

I meant when dealing with the subjects who came for an audiance."

446921

"How so?"

446927

>>446921
"Sometimes she seemed a bit… like she didn't care."

446932

>>446927
"She has the burden of a growing empire on her divine shoulders.
It is a great weight, even for one as mighty as her and her sister."

446934

>>446932
"That didn't stop Her from caring for all of Her subjects kindly from how I remember."

450414

>>446934
"She is kind enough to grant them her attention. Some times even in person."

450437

>>450414
"But… the Princesses are supposed to care for all their loyal subjects!"

450445

>>450437
"They do. But with the growing millions of subjects in our ever-expanding empire, it is impossible to know of, or personally care about, every last one.
So they do as they can. They find joy in the expansion of the empire, and take the time they can to attend to the needs of their people.
I should know. As the mouth of Celestia, I am tasked with doing a great deal of that."

450450

>>450445
"You may be the Mouth, but not the Mind.
Princess Celestia trusted me enough to speak with me openly, and I know she cared about each and every single of her subjects personally. Every last one. And she found more joy in providing them a happy life than in expansions."

450453

>>450450
"Princess Celestia confides in me in person on a daily basis. I assure you, she does what she can, but her duties prevent her from doing what you seem to insist she does.
After all, I am her most faithful servant."

450473

>>450453
Narrow my eyes.

But let's not argue about that. In all honesty, I have a long day and a longer travel behind me."
Sigh again…
I wonder what Venia is up to right now…

450494

>>450491

A few of the others are in there right now, but the showers are big enough to fit a dozen at a time easily.

450511

Nod
"You could say 'new', yes."

450527

450535

And thank you. The same goes for all of you too, if you ever need help."

You make it in the nick of time, taking your places among the Embraced as Honeyed Word finishes his speech.
He finally put his headdress on as well. It seems to cover his entire head save for the mouth.
"-and so upon this dawn, as all others, by the grace of Celestia, we extend our thanks to you, Princess Luna of the Night! Rest thee well, along with thy kind, for we now accept our duties of the day, and embrace the rising sun and its responsibilities!
COME, SUN! ARISE!"
And with that, Celestia ascends to the heavens, dragging the sun up along with her, bathing the palace in dawn's first light, gleaming off the armor of the Embraced, the reflected light drawing the sign of the Sun upon the palace wall, before which Celestia hovers, gazing upon the world she rules.

450639

>>450631
Bow my head and say my prayers.

450641

>>450639
I hope you kept it silent or everyone heart you breaking the silence.

450646

>>450641
Of course I kept it silent, duh!

450702

>>450646
Once it is done, the Embraced head out to see their tasks of the day.

450704

>>450702
Okay…
I'll follow Princess Celestia then

450705

>>450704
A few of the Embraced look a little confused
"Radiant? I did not see your name on the task list."
"Were you assigned with guarding Celestia this day?"

450709

>>450705
"That has been my task for a long, long time, yes."

450711

>>450709
"…what?
We change tasks daily, unless a task takes longer to complete."

450713

>>450711
"In my time, I have done more than enough to earn the honor of being her personal guard.
But it seems I was mistaken this time. Where can I see those tasks?"

450715

>>450713
"Honeyed Word usually keeps the lists."

450717

>>450715
Nod.
"Thank you."
Seek him out.

450720

>>450717
He is assigning some orders to a few of the Embraced

450724

>>450720
"What will be my task for today?
Guarding the Princess?"

450726

>>450724
"Ah, Radiant.
I must admit I had not yet accounted for you. Guard duty for the morning was assigned to Devoted Dove, and for the afternoon to Pyreflame.
I'm afraid I have little planned for you."

450727

>>450726
Frown.
"I see…
What other tasks are there?"

450762

>>450727
"Oh many. More than I care to keep track of. There are beasts to quell, uprisings to lay low, important citizens to escort, troops in need of support, citizens who need personal aid, kittens to get down from trees, parades that need shiny figureheads…"

452544

>>450762
Nod patiently.

452551

>>452544
"Is there anything in particular you would like to help with?"

452555

>>452551
"I used to be the most trusted guard of Princess Celestia.
It's what I did best. As well as the specific tasks She gave me."

452563

>>452555
"Such as?"

452565

>>452563
"Dangerous missions of the highest importance."

452579

>>452565
"I'm afraid I don't have many of those to give out right now. Most major threats are being taken care of."

452617

>>452579
"Then what task do you propose I do?"

452621

>>452617
"You could go greet the arriving guests"

452623

>>452621
"What guests?"

452632

>>452623
"Those who wish to speak with the princess?"

452637

>>452632
"Oh.
I'm not a pony of words, but I could try."

452641

>>452637
"Neither was I when I was small. Yet now I embody the most divine of words."

452644

>>452641
Nod.
"Right.
Where to, then?"

452648

>>452644
"They line up outside the doors of the throne room.
Inquire their business and pass the information on to the guards inside."

452651

>>452648
"No weapons allowed inside either, right?"

452654

>>452651
"No. Unless they have permits."

452657

>>452654
"Permits?"

452661

>>452657
"You know. Permits for ceremonial weapons and the like."

452663

>>452661
"Right."

452666

>>452663
"Good. Off you go then, Embraced."

452682

>>452666
Nod.
It's strange, in my time… well, I was the only Embraced.
Go where I'm supposed to.

452690

>>452682
Damn that's a long line.
Starswirl appears to poke you in the shoulder
"Come see me when you can."

452696

>>452690
Turn to him and nod.
"As my duties will allow it."

452698

>>452696
"Good. I may have new information."

452708

>>452698
"That is good. Is it good if I visit you after I have fulfilled my duties here?"

452711

>>452708
"That should be fine."

452719

>>452711
"Right.
I will do so then."
Nod goodbye to him. Now, let's turn my attention back to the line.

452724

>>452719
They are all lined up and ready to go.

452728

>>452724
Motion the first pony in line to come closer and speak."

452734

>>452728
"Fiddly Fiddle. Here to present a petition on behalf of my wife Fit Fiddle to plant a new orchard of pears in southwestern Fillydephia."

452753

>>452734
Nod.
"Right."
Seems simple enough. So now I just tell the guards who are inside?

452758

>>452753
Or you can gather a few more names and report them all at once

452780

>>452758
That works too.
Ask him to be patient and stand by the side for a bit.
"Next?"

452787

>>452780
"Folded Tightly. Here to pay tribute for the princess' last visit to our town."

452789

>>452787
"In what manner do you wish to pay tribute?"

452794

>>452789
"I have brought gifts from our people, from gold to crafts."

452798

>>452794
"Have those been checked by the guards at the gate?"

452802

>>452798
"I think so?"

452806

>>452802
"You think so or you know?"

452813

>>452806
"I think so."

452820

>>452813
"Right. I hope you won't mind if the guards here will check them again them. One can never be careful enough when it comes to the safety of the Princess."

452838

>>452820
"If you… insist."

452850

>>452838
"I do.
Next?"

452866

>>452850
"Nettleblossom. Here to ask if my cat has been properly brushed yet."

452871

>>452866
"Excuse you?"

452883

>>452871
"My cat. Jewel.
I left him here to be brushed, and came to see if it's done yet."

452892

>>452883
"You left your cat with the Princess?"

452896

>>452892
"No, with the Embraced."

452908

>>452896
I just…. what?!
"I'm sorry, I know nothing about that. I am only in charge of seeing who wants to visit the Princess and why."

452913

>>452908
"Well I want to see her to ask what became of Jewel."

452919

>>452913
"I doubt the Princess knows much of your cat's well being."

452945

>>452919
"Hmp. And here I thought she treated all our worries in equal.
Well if not her, then who does?"

452948

>>452945
"I will grant you a permission to enter, I just did not see many cats around the throne room myself.
Next?"

452952

>>452948
"Purple P. Rose, here to inquire about the state of the dragon hunt."

452958

>>452952
"Of course."
Okay, four at a time.
Relay all info to the guards.
Make sure to tell them to check the goods Folded Tightly brought.

452968

>>452958
"Check some tribute
Report on the dragon hunt
Orchard petition
Cat brushies.
Got it."

452969

>>452968
Okay, back to the line I go.
"Next."

452977

>>452969
"Willowtears. Here to accuse Fireflitter from across town of stealing my wheelbarrow."

452983

>>452977
"Have you notified the royal authorities yet? They might know more of the local happenings and could start an investigation right away."

452988

>>452983
"Well I did, and they told me there was no evidence since she already returned it."

452993

>>452988
"She returned it?… You said it was stolen."
