No.97254

Previously on Crypt Quest our heroes fought and defeated a troupe of gargoyles after getting trapped in a large, dark chamber. After collecting the gargoyles collars they continued and were attacked by gargoyles that had hung back. During the fight they met a new friend and Pomelo unsuccessfully tried to heal Dreamkicker's naked butt. The party defeated the remaining gargoyles and collected their collars as well.

The party stands in a large, dark room. Behind them massive stone pillars rise into the darkness above. Around them stand gargoyle statues and piles of dead gargoyle. Before them is a large wooden door.

Players report in.

You pull open the door and reveal the hallway beyond. It is short, but wide and tall enough to accommodate even someone of Bessy's size. The floor, walls, and ceiling are polished to a mirror sheen. Along the walls and ceiling are carvings meant to resemble crawling vines. An impressive red carpet leads from the doorway to another door, this one made of very expensive wood. You push open the door and stick your head through. Chapel accoutrements fill this chamber, including great wooden pews on either side of a central mosaic path. This path leads toward an altar on the far side of the room, which is separated from the pews by a wooden railing. Scenes of everyday life are painted on the walls, but all the ponies and other creatures are portrayed with rotting flesh, skeletal hooves, and worm-ridden orifices. Amidst these disturbing portraits are various symbols of Celestia, Luna, and Pinkie Pie. Behind the wooden railing is a crystalline altar. Words are carved into the wall behind the alter, but they are a little too far away to be read. Two large brass candelabra, each holding five white candles, stand on either side of the alter. Two large white pottery urns, each stoppered with brass, sit in each corner. A pony skeleton wearing badly rusted and torn black chainmail lies dead in the southwestern portion of the room, one outstretched leg seeming to point into a stone-filled arch on the northern end of the west chapel wall.

The two of you inspect the paintings on the walls. They show several different scenes in very vivid details. In one a pony and gryphon are trading goods. Flesh hangs from both their bodies and worms almost seem to squirm in their mouths, noses, and empty eyes. Another scene shows a married couple and their two colts sitting around the dinner table. One colt is little more than a maggot infested lump of flesh, the mare's skin and muscles is gone and her internal organs have been replaced by snakes, and the stallion is covered in boils and lesions that ooze pus. The last scene either of you can bear to look at is a young couple embracing that is too horrid for words.
Both of you roll not to vomit.

No.98977

Previously on Crypt Quest the party gained access to a small chapel. After examining the grotesque paintings on the walls Pomelo and Bessy lost their lunch, but were able to mostly clean themselves up. After a bit of confusion the party put them gems from the gargoyles' collars into the stones of an archway in the wall. Once the last one was in place the archway filled with blue mist and Dreamkicker fell through. Bessy, Pomelo, and Mushu chased after him, and when they arrived at the other side found themselves the victims of an insidious trap. After a brief bit of fighting and arguing they looted the rooms chest of its contents and went back through the archway, finding that most everything had been put right when they rematerialized outside the chapel. The party then examined words carved into the back wall of the chapel and an alter in front of the words. However, when they examined the alter a trap was sprung and Dreamkicker was electrocuted.

The party stands in an underground chapel. Two large white pottery urns, one stoppered with brass, sit in each corner. A pony skeleton wearing badly rusted and torn black chainmail lies dead in the southwestern portion of the room, one outstretched leg seeming to point into a mist-filled arch on the northern end of the west chapel wall.

The smell of burnt flesh fills the room and some of Dreamkicker's skin can be seen stuck to the wall and floor. Dreamkicker's rear is quite badly wounded and blood is flowing from the tears in his skin.

One colt is little more than a maggot infested lump of flesh, the mare's skin and muscles is gone and her internal organs have been replaced by snakes, and the stallion is covered in boils and lesions that ooze pus. Previously on Crypt Quest the party discovered and set right another change caused by the archway, found an amulet that might be cursed, Dreamkicker enjoyed himself a bit too much, and Pomelo exploded an alter. After patching up the damage done by the trapped alter the party began going over the room with a fine-toothed comb. They reexamined the paintings, searched the small hallway outside the chapel, searched a few of the pews, and Pomelo and Mushu went back through the arch.

The party stands in an underground chapel. Chapel accoutrements fill this chamber, including great wooden pews on either side of a central mosaic path. This path leads toward an altar on the far side of the room, which is separated from the pews by a charred wooden railing. Scenes of everyday life are painted on the walls, but all the ponies and other creatures are portrayed with rotting flesh, skeletal hooves, and worm-ridden orifices. Amidst these disturbing portraits are various symbols of Celestia, Luna, and Pinkie Pie. Hanging from the unpainted portions of the walls are tapestries. Behind the charred wooden railing is a large scorch mark. Words are carved into the wall behind where the alter was. The remains of two large brass candelabra sit at the bck of the chapel. Bits and pieces of broken urns are also scattered around the back of the chapel. A pony skeleton wearing badly rusted and torn black chainmail lies dead in the southwestern portion of the room, one outstretched leg seeming to point into a mist-filled arch on the northern end of the west chapel wall.

The party that is still in the chapel can hear the door into the hallway swing open.

Previously on Crypt Quest a secret compartment was found inside the chest behind the blue arch. After making two new friends the party headed back inside, most of them falling victim one way or another to the arch's powers. After a lot of guesswork to try and get to the contents of the secret compartment, and some sexual harassment because why not, the party left and corrected all but one of the changes made by the archway. The party found and opened the secret doorway and traveled down the revealed passageway. Electing to go to the left instead of forwards the party had an encounter with a gelatinous cube. A brief battle saw the cube, and its companion, defeated.

The party currently stands before a large pit in the floor. Andelia at the bottom of the pit with a broken leg. To their left is the passage the just came down. Ahead of them is a pit and an unexplored hallway.

No.105440

Previously on Crypt Quest the party got past a pit trap and entered a strange chamber with three passages leading out of it. After several injuries thanks to a trapped passageway and backfired healing spells the party used one charge on their healing staff and made it safely past. Walking into a similar room they went to the left and encountered a fearsome type of zombie. One lengthy fight and two near death experiences later the party got past them.

The party is now huddled together in a hallway. On one end is the room with the zombies. On the other is a doorway. The party has rested long enough for their drained life-force to replenish itself.

The party, working together, is able to push the stones back into the wall, then even farther. Eventually the blocks tumble backwards with a loud crash and raise a could of dust. When the dust clears the party can see a hole has been revealed that is large enough for even a buffalo to fit through. The stone blacks above the hole sag worryingly, but do not fall. The tunnel itself is dark and the air flowing from it smells stale.

Dreamkicer hangs back, possibily for reasons of his own or possibly because a cute goat hugged his butt.

Everyone but Dreamkicker, Marebelle, and Andelia can see the tunnel end ahead. From the rooms comes the noise of hoofstep, things being dragged, and metal impacted with rock.
