A few days have passed since Sophie made friends with Muffles.

It's the weekend, and what do good little children do when they're free from school on the weekend? That's right, stay home and play video games. This newfangled Ninteendo XD has been pretty popular with children for a while now, but their popularity has really exploded with the release of the recent Pokeyman Green and Purple versions. Kids play one or the other versions, and can come into contact with anyone around the world to play with them! Technology! Sophie and Sam are no different, and while Sam is in his room, Sophie is on the couch, busy pressing buttons on her small thingy while you all do whatever it is toys do near her.

Who wants to go out on a sunny morning, anyway?

Ranger [Omniseer] 389628

"I wish they made controllers small enough for us. That looks a little fun."

Switch [Pilgrim] 389634

"The pups should be exercising, not lounging."

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389641

"Should we encourage the lady to exercise?"

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389645

Jump into her lap and try to help her! '1d10'
"I'm helping!"

Roll #1 5 = 5

BDN 389648

"It's fun! Here!"

On the screen, you see what looks like a flaming pony breathe fire at a fish.

"But it's fine, Switch! I get to exercise during gym anyway!"

Oh boy, look at the time. Looks like the Sub is about to show today's MLTA! But…

"I heard Pokeyman is going to show their cartoon today at this time, too! What should I do?"

BDN 389655

You help her press a button, saving her a few seconds of scrolling through text.

Switch [Pilgrim] 389657

"They only happen once each?"

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389658

I frown "The lady doesn't enjoy our show anymore? Can't you record the Pokeyman?"

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389660

"You have a game! You don't need to watch a show about it!"

Helping! '1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

Ranger [Omniseer] 389664

I'm helping too.

Roll #1 10 = 10

BDN 389666

"Well, it's the new episode where Starswirls becomes a time magic teacher! But it's the first episode of the Pokeyman show too and I want to watch it… pure, you know!"

You press a button twice!

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389668

"But.. I've been waiting for Starswirls to show back up.." I frown "Can't you record the other or watch it another time?"

Switch [Pilgrim] 389674

"Maybe you should ask your brother if he wants to watch one with you."

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389679

"But you can play pokeyman any time! You don't need to watch the show if you can play the game!"

"Ooh! What's this do?" '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

BDN 389684

The random combination of buttons you press somehow coerce the RNG into a critical effect!

"Yay! Captured it"

Sam rushes out, carrying his own Ninteendo XD and a Unicorn toy in his pocket, and immediately changes the channel before sitting down right next to you all.

Guess that settled it!

>It's not very effective….

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389687

I frown fly up and stand on the remote '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389688

Hey! Who's that unicorn? Can I see it? '1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

Switch [Pilgrim] 389697

Is it at least a good influence on the kids?

Exercise? Loyalty to the pack?

BDN 389700

They're too busy watching the show to care.

Red Ketchup, the protagonist, has left on a journey to capture a lot of animals! He starts with a Onionsaur to go with his Tadpoli.

You can! He's a unicorn dressed in a smart-looking unicorn, with a neat sword by his side. Looks like he's Sam's pony.

"Hi! Three Stripe, at your serive!"

Looks like it. It seems to be a show about adventure and making friends with those you share your journey with.

Switch [Pilgrim] 389707

"Three Stripe… Have you been with Sam long?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 389719

"Hey there Three Stripe."

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389720

wave at him
"Hi! What series are you from?"

BDN 389725

"Hey! The… Equestrian Army pack! I'm pretty proud!"

He puffs up his chest to show off his uniform.

Meanwhile, the kids remain glued to the TV.

Ranger [Omniseer] 389728

I look at them.
"We can't let them focus too much on competitive entertainment."

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389733

Roll #1 4 = 4

BDN 389750

"It might be a good thing! They could learn a lot!"

Still glued.

The commercial break comes and… it features adverts for more pokeyman! They're not turnign away from this.

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389758

uuuu! No!

Jump on the remote more! Chaaange it! '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

I try to make a shower of sparkles with my horn to draw their attention.

Roll #1 7 = 7

Trick shot the wall. Get some practice in. This is too sedentary for me.

Roll #1 8 + 3 = 11

BDN 389780

It's enough to draw their attention away, just enough to notice that their Ninteendo XD seems to be on alert.

"Hey, hey! Looks like someone wants to send me a Pokeyman!"

Their attention is now on their game thing.

You miss! That button only made the show louder.

Switch [Pilgrim] 389786

Climb up so I can see.

BDN 389790

>hey there bby ;) I send u pokeyman u send me pictures?

Sohpie seems a bit confused.

"Huuuuh? I could send him pictures, but.. why dooes he want them?"

Switch [Pilgrim] 389794

"It's a trick. He wants to gain a tactical advantage over you with that information. This technique is called a Trojan Horse. Named for the Trojan ponies that were notorious for being tricky."

Ranger [Omniseer] 389799

Was this sent to Sophie or her brother?

BDN 389808

to Sophie.

"Huh? But he wants to give me a Pokeyman, too? I don't even know what pictures he wants!"

Ranger [Omniseer] 389811

"Something seems wrong…"
Does my Owner Protection Programming let me realize what is going on?

Roll #1 3 = 3

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389812

"Take a Picture of us! That will impress whoever it is more than a poggyman"

Switch [Pilgrim] 389813

"Part of the trick. Ask Sam."

BDN 389814

Nope. Looks like you don't suspect much!

"Hey, that's a great idea!"

Sophie takes a photo of you both, while Three Stripes tries to jump in the background. She then send the picture over…

>just what i needed! thank you! also i think i've seen your toys before. what r their names?

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389816

Yeah! try to look at picture, do I look cool? '1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

Switch [Pilgrim] 389817

Shake my head. "Don't tell strangers about your den."

Ranger [Omniseer] 389822

"Why would our names matter?"

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389824

"What is going on? Who did our lady send a picture too?"

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389831

"Challenge him to pitched competition!"

BDN 389839

You look pretty awkward, considering how it looks like you're trying to eat Switch's butt.

>because I think I've seen them before and gave them back to their owner

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389843

I squint my eyes at the screen "..The brave knight in-training?"

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389844

get up there and try to challenge him to a competition using this game's mechanics! '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

Ranger [Omniseer] 389848

"Tell him we want to know if he is keeping his basement clean."

BDN 389858

>oh hey, it really is you! yeah, I've been… keeping better

Silly toy, you don't even know how the game works!

Sorry, can we pause?

Ranger [Omniseer] 389864

Sure. Thanks for running.

Gerald [Troubadour Griffon ] 389866

Glister the Sparkle Thrower [Thau] 389868

pause pls, this toy needs to read her instruction manual again

Ranger [Omniseer] 389873

"I saw a lot of big books on your table. How are your studies going?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 389875

Oh right, we paused.

Switch [Pilgrim] 389876

Yep, pause

BDN 396450

>Oh hey, so it's… uh, Sophie, right? Yeah, I think I handed your toys to you the other time! How are they?

That's what the screen on the Ninteendo handheld says. While Sam is glued to his own screen, Three Stripe is jumping up and down, trying to look at the message. Sohpie turns to all of you.

"Oh! It's the nice man who brought you guys! What.. um, was he like, again? He doesn't count as a stranger, right?"

Eston 396451

"Adult Supervision Required."

"Otherwise, he should be fine."

Campfire 396452

"What Eston says. He does live with his mom though, so she might count. Remember to tell your mom first."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396453

"Indeed, since you don't know the young knight he is a stranger."

Ranger [Omniseer] 396454

BDN 396455

"Hey, Sam? Sam! Just sit here while I talk to my new friend, okay?"

"Yeahyeayeah hang on I need to catch this goddamn JigglyClinton"

Sam is still glued to his screen. Sohpie seems pleased and continues conversing.

>Did yoir mom buy you your ninteendo? my brotherr and i saved up real hard forr ours!

>uuhhh yeah because I neeed it to study!

They seem to be getting along quite well.

BDN 396456

Roll #1 6 = 6

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396457

"You did remember to bring your homework, little lady? We can't have you falling behind now. Fun is fun, but it has its place."

BDN 396458

>pretty cool that u want to study robot brains and use the game to model bihaviour beeheviou behaviour, or whatever you said at first! show's starting bak up, see u!

Looks like they're done and are saying goodbye.

She's back to her trance, staring at the TV screen

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396459

she's still watching that other show? Is it any good? '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396460

Most teachers have websites up about their class, can I look up her assignments, and maybe her grades. Plus, a quick look at the TV guide.

Ranger [Omniseer] 396461

"Don't you want to watch some of our adventures instead?"

BDN 396462

Well, that's what you think!

Must have something there that might be entertaining for kids. Right now the rabbit is finishing a battle wit ha flashy show of lightning.

You could, if there was a web browsing device around here! Her Inteendo might work, though it's on her game right now.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396463

If it makes the little lady happy. Perhaps I can find out about stickers with that rabbit on it? '1d10' to look at some ads.

Roll #1 3 = 3

BDN 396464

Looks like they want to focus on what they are.

Switch [Pilgrim] 396465

"Games… hmm… the pups should be learning real world skills, not living in some dream world."

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396466

Let's get the little girls writing utensils prepared. If we can make it easier to get studying, the more likely she is to do it. Let's get those pencils sharpened.

Roll #1 9 = 9

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396467

"At least they won't become a threat to our lady directly, talking monsters would have been bad news"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396468

"Yes. If she has other shows she can watch she is less likely to become bored of us quickly."

BDN 396469

You wander off and get some pencils sharpened! Now it's time to decide what homework you want her to do. Looks like she finished what she needed already, but the teacher recommended that everyone do some extra papers if they want. They're in a stack to the side of Sophie's room, which you went into.

You can pick from English, Math or Science, unless you succeed in finding another topic you're looking for.

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396470

I choose Science, Mr. BDN.

What topics are available? She mentioned being interested in the robot programming of the Tabrony.

BDN 396471

She's 9 years old! It's basic things like how water works, electricity, plants and so on.

Unless, by a strike of fortune that occurs only once every ten, you find something else…

Switch [Pilgrim] 396472

Grumble. I don't like this sedentary lifestyle. How much time is left in the show?

BDN 396473

Three Stripe wanders up to you all all and stands straight.

"Morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! I must agree with what I have overheard! Although I highly doubt we shall have to worry very much for the time being!"

It just ended. the credits are rolling. But you also missed your show, though Sophie recorded it. She can watch it anytime.

"Hey, where did Eston go?"

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396474

Let's see what we can get for electricity. It could lead to cool projects to get her up and active.

Roll #1 10 = 10

Ranger [Omniseer] 396475

I nod.
"You're right, of course."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396476

"Good, but how can we help Sophie now?"

Switch [Pilgrim] 396477

"Let's find him. I'm ready to track."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396478

"I'm sure he's not far away."

BDN 396479

>Principles of alternating currents
>Use this space and design a basic circuit board!

On these notes, you also fine, in Sophie's handwriting, calculations for some sort of… well, you don't actually know, but it looks more complex than you can believe. It's only half done, though.

Sophie takes you all and goes to her room door, a little open because Eston went in. You all also see her.. 'special' homework.

"Why, that is your assignment, is it not, comrade? Why not discuss that among your section? My role is to train Sam andI am alone in that! Now, good luck!"

He salutes and walks back to Sam, who is returning to his room.

Ranger [Omniseer] 396480

I look at her homework.
"That looks complicated for a young girl."

Switch [Pilgrim] 396481

"Hmmm… numbers. Reminds me of my pack. We had some dogs that did numbers. Good for when the caravans come."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396482

I look puzzled. "Math is said to be the music of life. Perhaps this is a form of new life?"

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396483

"It's not good form to leave work half done, little missy. But, what is this? I don't remember seeing this in the curriculum."

BDN 396484

"Ah, well…"

Roll #1 9 = 9

BDN 396485

"Not all that hard! Mr Right said that since I like his books so much, he'd give me some more interesting homework to do! Though it does mean I can play as much…"

She sighs as she she struggles to take out a textbook the size of her torso from a bookshelf.

"It's not all the fun alone! but when we put it with cool things, like batteries, it's… wow!"

Out of the corner of your eye, you can see the Darbies looking quite unhappy in their space.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396486

I still look confused. "Can you draw a picture for me Lady Sophie?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396487

"That thing is huge!"

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396488

"Mr. Right taught you to lift with your knees, right?"

Switch [Pilgrim] 396489

Observe the diagrams.

"Mmm… like the traps the engineers would put together in their workshops. Will you be an engineer, Sophie? It is a prized job if you have the aptitude."

BDN 396490

File: 1365920477395.png (7.09 KB, 494x299, 2007-04-14_circuit.png)

She quickly draws it out since it's her homework anyway.

"See, you have to remember to ground it, otherwise it won't work, because…"

You can roll to understand further.

"Yeah! Mr. Right always tells me how to do things!"

She seems pretty happy talking about him.

Ranger [Omniseer] 396491

Do I understand?

Roll #1 8 = 8

try to understand

Roll #1 7 = 7

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396493

Let's try to follow.

Doomed roll, here I go.

Roll #1 3 = 3

BDN 396494

To an extent. You have a better idea of how conventional electronics work now! Not sure how Brandon-Neller Neural AI would work with that, though. But things other than that? Maybe.

You're pretty lost. Oh, well.

Ranger [Omniseer] 396495

"You should take us to class with you and keep us in your pockets."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396496

I smile proudly. "You're doing excellent work here Lady Sophie, but please, who is this Mr. Right you keep mentioning.. "

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 396497

"I wouldn't disagree. I can't follow that, at ALL!"

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396498

"Not a bad idea, then we might see this Mr. Right, in person."

BDN 396499

"Oh! He's… he's my science teacher! Like, he's always taking about so cool stuff, like how things work, what we're made out of, how he used to work with gadget thingies too… he's so cool!"

She's beaming.

Roll #1 8 = 8

BDN 396500

You can only see the Darbies continue to whisper among themselves.

Switch [Pilgrim] 396501

What're they up to? '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396502

I look concerned. "Sophie, is your teacher's name Wright?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396503

Can I hear what they are talking about?

Roll #1 10 = 10

BDN 396504

You can't see much more than what you're seeing.

Walter the bear, as usual, is just lying still in the shelf. He doesn't have many of the bells and whistles most toys have nowadays.

"Uhhh. yeah? It's Arr eye gee ache tee."

"Who cares about this sort of dumb nerd stuff?"
"Yeah, but there's a silver lining, it's a boy, right? And girls like boys, right?"
"And you know what girls should do when they like boys? Like, dress up and put on, like, makeup, and, like, look all fabulous! Ahahahahaha!"
"Can't believe those dumb animals are just going to let her be. What say we go out and, like, stop the show, girls?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396505

I quietly tell my toy companions what they said.

Switch [Pilgrim] 396506

"You want me to make them have an accident?"

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396507

I nod. "How do you want to handle them?"
"Well, Mr. Right? He's a good teacher who wants the best for you, and I'm sure he'll be impressed if you finish this." I smile, pointing to the paper. "Maybe a snack will help you focus on it? You should go get one."

BDN 396508

"Oh, alright! How about… doughnuts? Because they were eating those weird doughnuts in Pokeymans! They looked like rice balls…"

she runs off.

Switch [Pilgrim] 396509

Track her. I should teach her to hunt and cook.

Ranger [Omniseer] 396510

Well they are opposing products. An accident might be for the best."

Switch [Pilgrim] 396511

Ah, in that case, I'll stick around.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396512

I'm going to move in before Sophie can get back
Fly over to the darbies. '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

Switch [Pilgrim] 396513

Join him.

BDN 396514

Both of you move into the shelf, where the three Darbies are. the look at you snidely.

"Like, what do you want, dweebs?"

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396515

"I think you have bad intentions for my Lady Sophie, and I wish to defend her honor. Speak quickly, were you planning to encourage this misguided crush?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396516

I join them by the Darbies.

BDN 396517

"Misguided? Like, um, whoa? It's like you think these sort of things aren't like important at all, loser! Of course she has to, like, date a cute guy if she can!"

Switch [Pilgrim] 396518

Scan the shelves above. Anything heavy, like trophies, I can make 'conveniently' fall?

Roll #1 3 = 3

Ranger [Omniseer] 396519

"She isn't old enough to date."

BDN 396520

Looks like if something is to happen, it has to be head on.

Sophie's notes are pretty nearby. did you take a look? How much can you understand?

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396521

I look furious. "Then I must challenge you to a dual, for the safety of our lady, she can not be encouraged to date, particularly not her teacher." I ready my sword. Maybe I can use what I learned from sophie's note's to find a weak point on them? '1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

Switch [Pilgrim] 396522

Hmph. I've never had the time for engineering, but maybe I have some natural talent. '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

BDN 396523

"And, like, yeah, do we care? She'll be buying our Darbie line of Delicious CakeĀ® accessories and clothes. And we'll be the ones teaching her eeeevrything important!"

If you were to hit the back of their heads with enough force, you could disable them without making nay damage very obvious…

Unfortunately, it looks like you didn't really gain a lot from those notes.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396524

I hoover in the air dramatically. "Watch this comrades. " '1d10' to activate over confidence.

Roll #1 10 = 10

BDN 396525

A surge of power helps you to focus.

You can concentrate clearly now. In the back of their heads, you don't even need to hit. With a bit of effort, you could neatly pull out their plastic covering, attack the insides, and neatly replace the shells…

Switch [Pilgrim] 396526

Enough of this fooling around. There's more than one way to hide damage.

Approach, seize the dress off the queenpin and trick shot her point blank. Poison, of course.

Roll #1 2 + 3 = 5

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396527

Demonstrate to my friends by smacking a Darbie out cold. "This is how you win a dual quickly and efficiently."

BDN 396528

Ranger [Omniseer] 396529

"Not if we have anything to say about it."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396530

Roll #1 8 = 8

BDN 396531

>10 on overconfidence

You hit the Darby upwards and fly towards it. With a quick slash of your sword, you pry open the flaps on the Darby's plastic shell loose. You reach inside, then, with a quick few cuts, pull the battery pack insecure and loose, ripping it out of the laughing Darby before it can scream. Before it even lands, you kick the plastic flaps back, and it falls limp, with seemingly no damage on the outside, though its power pack is no longer within, but in your talon, pulsing with a blueish-white glow.

You manage to pin another Darby, one who has been keeping silent, to a wall with an arrow, turning its snide grin into a look of fear as the nanites start going through its her and into its body.

The last Darby seems quite upset.
"Like, like.. this is so brutal! How unladylike to, to–- fight!! Ugh!"

Switch [Pilgrim] 396532

Was that a success? Neat. I guess Darbies WOULD be a little easier to hit than the average enemy.

Follow Gerald's lead and target the battery pack of the one I've got. '1d10+1'

If this drops her, pull the dress innocently back over her.

Roll #1 5 + 1 = 6

BDN 396533

The way you stand calmly while you comrades have just shot and cut up the others is oddly intimidating.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396534

I stand tall and proud wondering what I should do with this battery pack. "Does this mean you wish to surrender the victory to my team?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396535

"What if she squeals?"

I was in the bathroom.

BDN 396536

You don't really have the means to neatly pull out the battery pack, but at this range, against an unarmed foe, you are able to pull out the plastic covering too and damage the battery enough for it to be no longer functioning. The Darby falls limp.

"Like… no! I'm going to need to, like…"

It proceeds to jump out of the shelf and looks like it's trying to flee. Beat this roll to catch up.

Roll #1 5 = 5

BDN 396537

As an adventurer, you have a backpack, and it looks like you can keep it there for the time being.

Being no longer connected to a circuit needing its power, the battery pack's glow fades.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396538

I can fly, this isn't even fair. '1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

BDN 396539

You quickly catch up and pin it down before it steps any further from the shelf. It struggles briefly, but stops.

"Ha.. hahahaha… do you HasBEENS think you have won? do you? do you?"

The Darby starts glowing hotter for some reason. Is it… using a lot of power? For what?

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396540

right, then I should store it away in there.
"Miss Darbie, please stop that." Remove her battery pack before she can finish whatever it is.. '1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

Ranger [Omniseer] 396541

I try to pull Gerald away with my technomagic.

Switch [Pilgrim] 396542

Oh boy.

Help him. Remove that pack! '1d10+1'

Roll #1 5 + 1 = 6

Ranger [Omniseer] 396543

Roll #1 7 = 7

BDN 396544

This one… has her flap superglued down? You can't remove the battery with what you have. It is whispering.

>S/N 4783434797… reporting.. Tabletop toys… far stronger than we thought… Fattel.. must… rise again…

Your 'Poison Shot' nanites are able to break down the superglue to an extent, though it would take another attempt.

You manage to retrieve Gerald away just as Switch moves in.

Now I blast her with a magic bolt.

Roll #1 3 + 2 = 5

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396546

"thank you comrade, but her pack.. Its reporting back to Fattel turn her off fast!"
Protect both ranger and switch from the darbie. '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

Ranger [Omniseer] 396547

"Sorry. I thought she was overloading her battery to make her explode."

Switch [Pilgrim] 396548

Finish the job! Trick shot it! '1d10+3'

Roll #1 6 + 3 = 9

BDN 396549

You stand in front of them in case anything happens, though you also disrupt Ranger's aim a little.

Your Light EMP pulse 'Magic Bolt' fails to hit its head, but hitting the leg scrambles it a little.

The Darby goes limp.

Am I able to pick up that she was calling for that thing that nearly destroyed us last time?

Roll #1 9 = 9

BDN 396551

You walk up to it and jam a nanite-coated arrow into its superglue, allowing you to retrieve the power pack, now pale and colourless from overuse.

You can hear light footsteps coming. Sophie might be coming back.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396552

"It did seem that way, " I fly the darbie back up to the shelf. "The fight is over now, maybe Sophie will like the battery as part of her next project?"
I pause "What do you think I should do with it?"

Ranger [Omniseer] 396553

"Probably hide it."

BDN 396554

It's right there. You heard it, Ken.

You all hide the batteries in your packs, while Sophie comes in, holding some doughnuts. She sits back down and continues with her homework, none the wiser. Not like she'll find out, considering how she never plays with the Darbies much anymore.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396555

I nod. The best place to hide things is usually under furniture. Make sure to set the Darbies in a natural position. '1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

BDN 396556

They're set well enough. Sophie saw nothing odd.

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396557

that's fine. next time we should tell her to eat healthier, pretzels or carrots.

Ranger [Omniseer] 396558

I walk over to her.
"Those look good. I wish I could taste things."

Gerald [Griffon Troubador] 396559

I'll just power down for a bit next to the teddy bear. Probably tired now.

BDN 396560

"Taste… taste.. ooh! that's interesting to think about!"

She seems to be doing her homework with a bit more enthusiasm.

Looks like some more days have passed!

Fortunately for you all, Sophie seems to have not noticed how her Darbies have stopped functioning entirely. With her and Sam at school (she hasn't got the chance to take you all yet) and the rest of her family at work. You all have the whole house to yourselves. Three Stripe is probably in Sam's room, though you can hear a bit of commotion. Walter is quiet and just watching, as usual.

What would you like to do today, toys? Might be some interesting news, too.

Sight Beyond Sight to check on the source of the commotion.

I'm ready to track. Go hunt down Three Stripe.

Roll #1 1 = 1

BDN 400264

Your vision is stopped by some newspaper with a piece of tinfoil stuck just outside Sophie's room. You can't see into Sam's, but there is other interesting stuff on the newspaper.

Looks like Fattel's stock is going up due to a big announcement of some sort for a 'new toy line'. Only investors have seen it, but they seem confident.

Walter leans against the shelf wall, not really changing his expression. Mostly because he can't, it is pretty difficult for a plush bear with a first generation toy AI to do that.

Ranger [Omniseer] 400265

I walk over to Sam's room.
"Is something wrong?"

BDN 400266

A brief glitch in your sound detection systems decide that the sound is coming out the window!

You climb over, and…

BDN 400268

His door is shut tight, and even with your telekinesis you can't seem to move it.

Roll #1 6 = 6

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 400270

"Do you know what was causing all that commotion earlier!? It woke me up from my mid-morning nap."

I try to look through it to check on the blockage.

Roll #1 7 = 7

BDN 400274

You climb out of the window, and note a small figure running right past the corner of the house.

"I wouldn't know. I thought I would get some rest after you got rid of the Darbies, but.. ah. Yes. There are a few in that room, aren't there? Three Stripe and Sam's.. other Toys.

The door is just locked.

Onm the other side, though, you see Three Stripe, and a group of other toys. Sam's old action figures. They seem to be cornering Three Stripe, who is backing away from them, with a sabre drawn.

I try to unlock it with my magic and push the door open.
"They're attacking Three Stripe!"

Roll #1 7 = 7

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 400278

I don't like foreigners on my terrain, especially if they're headed into the back, possibly to sneak inside!

BDN 400283

Ranger's MR Sight helps him aim his EMRLR Telekinesis to work around the lock, while Eston charges in to quickly open it.

Three Stripe continues to focus on Sam's toys, the Arachnid Dude, Goukoo and Captain King. They look.. different. They seem a lot more energized, a little stronger than before.

"Ah. So you've saved us the trouble of coming for you. Wonderful."

The figure runs to Sam's window, where it watches whatever is inside. You can hear all that goes on inside now.

Looks like.. a Darby? But unlike others, it is dressed in a black suit, with what seems to be a large empty bag at the back.

Switch [Pilgrim] 400285

I want to kill it… but it may have information. Darbies are easy prey… poison would probably take it out too quickly.

Charge and tackle it. '1d10+1'

It's easy for your scanner to see that they have a new battery and generator, which, even without firmware updates, would be enough.

But how?

Captain King points his gun at you. He signals not to move. Arachnid Dude speaks.

"How about how you've disturbed OUR peace? You were never meant to come here, Tabletop scum. Now, we will take back what is ours."

Easy prey?

Not this one. Though you hit it, she does not seem badly hurt, and struggles.

Roll to counter

"How about a compromise. Three Stripe comes to live with us and Sam plays with him while watching our show with his sister, or while playing together with her. At any other time he plays with all of you. Deal?"

"We aren't talking about why you're here right now. You Tabletops are taking over Sam and Sophie. And… and…"

Suddenly, Arachnid Dude is stunned. Thinking about things may have been too much for his new body to adapt to right now.

"Unacceptable. It still means Sam will be with you Tabletops."

Three Stripe doesn't seem to like this very much either.

"Could you say the same thing to Sophie? I cannot abandon Sam!"

BDN 400299

You can.

You stab into the Darby's hand, and it it is visibly weakened, though it makes no sound. It, however, twists away and falls into Sam's room.

Those in Sam's room see a Darby in a black suit come in through the window, though it seems unable to stand.

Switch [Pilgrim] 400301

Leap down to it and grab it by the collar of its catsuit. How close is it to death? Immediate danger of croaking?

"Tell me what you're up to before I finish the job. Speak!"

Roll #1 4 = 4

Not close to permanent damage, though the leg won't be functioning soon.

Three Stripe seems to consider it a bit.
"But how will I explain this to Sam..?"

The other toys don't look so agreeable. There is a mad look in their eyes.

"We will not be safe until your kind are gone! And thus, we have allied ourselves.. with the Fattel."

'"What does Fattel have to do with this?"

It's obvious Sam's toys aren't going to be diplomatic.

Something different has come over them than when you defeated them weeks ago. Their movements seem stronger, more precise and deliberate, even when you haven't seen them even respond is a very long time. Three Stripe backs away and manages to join with you all, his saber held well in a disciplined pose.

You fail to open the battery pack, as the suited Darby finds a way to kick you away with its good leg. you are thrown with the party in Sam's room.

As your arrow hits, the nanites quickly do their work, disabling ArachniDude and disrupting his movements.

You charge, and manage to hit, but not before something odd happens. The Darby, as it is thrown into the air, seemingly vanishes.

A delayed effect suddenly comes fro your previous pulse, and the Goukoo suddenly falls flat on the floor. You easily hack into it with your hatchet.

You easily pry the Darby off Stripe.

As the Darby is thrown into the air, you charge and jump, slamming her into the ground with your increased mass, leaving her helpless.

The Darby has left behind an odd black suit and a curved sword, while the party has five power packs. Three from Sophie's Darbies, one from the one here, and one pulled from Sam's toys.

You don't know how to do that, do you? Besides, Ranger's battery isn't damaged, his connections to it are.

Your nanites set to work healing his injuries, but it looks like a power cable can't be repaired. He might need a replacement.

"She vanished shortly after her defeat. Such a lack of manners. No respect from the defeated."

BDN 406408

You would probably damage parts if you tried to disassemble the Darby yourself? Maybe a toy with knowledge of healing could do it?

Three Stripe seems distracted by something, as he hops to the window and looks out down.

Gerald [troubador griffon] 406409

"What about that young knight that helped us find sophie when we were long?"

Switch [Pilgrim] 406410

BDN 406417

Meanwhile, Three Stripe is heard yelling from otuside the window to.. something.

"Identify yourself and your purpose of visit!"

>"Come… explore! Learn.. roads!"

From its make, you perfectly identify it as a light refraction 'stealth' suit. Simply by wearing it, one can turn themselves invisible after a short charge time, but this however would mean one cannot turn invisible immediately in an emergency unless they themselves also possess light refraction stealth units to interface with the suit.

Gives the ability Stealth. If Stealth is already known, then it grants Vanish.

Ranger [Omnisser] 406418

I stand up and hobble my way over to the window and look out.

Gerald [troubador griffon] 406419

Hold onto the sword for now, seems like the others don't really know how to use one anyway.
Fly up to the window "A visitor?"

Switch [Pilgrim] 406420

"Who could it be at this hour?"

BDN 406422

As you all look out of the window, it appears to be… a small vehicle of some sort, fitted for toys. Like a ship, except it has wheels.

"Me come explore, learn road! follow map and-"

The thing's voice is cut off as a familliar vocie cuts in.

"Oh, hey, it's you guys, remember me?"

Looks like it's the Tabrony seems to be controlling the thing, or looking over it remotely.

Eston [Buffalo Shaman] 406429

"It seems that one of our friends has suffered a degree of damage that we are not capable of repairing ourselves. We've secured the necessary replacements, but we'd like to request your assistance in the installation thereof."

Ranger [Omnisser] 406430
