Luna and Celestia used magic to alter their appearances and essentially swap places without your knowing. And so, after a brief meeting with Celestia's advisers, you found it odd she began to scold you for your actions.
Long story short, the mare who ended up kissing you while you were still in the infirmary was a disguised Luna, and the Luna who walked through the door was actually Celestia.
You kind of got Celestia's blessing to go ahead in a relationship with Luna.
You checked on Bear, who is in critical condition, Golden, who needs muscle therapy and rest, and Shining Armor, who is being wheeled about as his leg heals inside a cast.
Afterward, feeling tired, you grabbed two books from the Royal Library at random and ran to meet Luna.
One book was a light romance. The other turned out to be an erotic cook book.

Being Princess of the Night also seems to make ponies think I'm….dangerous, in a way I'm not certain I understand."
She looks up at you again, "I mean, I can be scary, yes. But I would hope they know that's not how I always am, that they are welcome to approach me like they do my sister."
She nuzzles her head into your chest, "But, that matters less now. With you at my side, I am happy with what I have."

Suddenly her magic aura disappears, and the room is pitch black, making you swallow nervously as you gently ask Luna what's going on.
It's a startling feeling when you realize you're still holding onto her.

You nod. How bad could it be?

Luna claps her hooves as the three of you set about making your preparations. The plan is for you to be announced and show yourself on one of the castle patios that overlook the courtyard. All the Canterlot upper echelon will be there.
Afterward, there will be a little soiree where they can get a better look at you, then you'll be free to mingle if you so choose.
"I'd like to remind you that if things go well today, you'll have leave of the castle and be able to head out into Canterlot if you wish," she smiles at you, "But I suppose we should get through the ceremonies first, shouldn't we? Now, go to your chambers, there should be an outfit for you to wear."

The chef darts off, and remains missing for a few minutes until he and two other chefs come out of the back, rolling an entire wooden keg. A fourth chef appears with a large cart holding a tap and two mugs as he carts it over.
You think it would've been easier to set the keg on the cart in the first place, but don't say anything as they struggle to lift the keg onto the cart.
Eventually they succeed, and a fresh keg is tapped and two mugs filled, one for you and one for Luna.
When it's apparent that will be all, the chefs head back to the kitchen, until your next need arises.
Luna raises a mug in a toast to you, "To the man of the hour!" she says loud enough for the kitchen staff to hear.

While it wasn't the issue in first 3-4 sessions to develop them like in such concept (like, every session - one day: wake up, some unrelated/adventuring stuff for fun, feels/culmination at the end), it became an issue later, since we are already at the stage where relationships are developed and we are ready for more advanced things but the players already got a hold on the pace and they planning each session like previous ones. But it is not going to work like that very well and this session shows it. It seemed like you (despite the fact you promised to straighten things up a bit) thought they will lead the relationships while players, in other hand, expected more leading hand from you and so it turned into a mess, add to that conflicting interests. Then, when it seems like the session reached its planned part you lost all your stream and just winded the ending up. Harsh words, but… the sex scene was really weak. Whole 7 sessions we were waiting for… this? Really? I'm quite disappointed and conflicted, because for Lunaquest I was expecting something if not better but at last as much good as that sweaty rarity greentext.
