A drop of water from a stalactite makes contact with the floor. Well, not quite. It lands on a chalk white bone, and slithers along the side, before finally wrenching itself free and reaching impact.
The air is humid to a fault, not that it bothers you, but something is different, today. You can feel it in your bones. Perhaps your dice will provide further insight.
It is a misty dawn. From outside your lodgings, you see a mellow, overcast dawn has cracked. The sun is not visible through the clouds, but its heat is ubiquitous.

This morning is marginally better than the last, but only by a little. There was a miserable drizzle, and everything outside is soaked. This place is a dead end in the backwater of nowhere, but it's safe. Safe from that last engagement, and quiet for a change. The ponies here aren't demanding, nor constantly seeking to put others down. It's quaint, and perhaps even nice in a way. But the climate has got to go. It's foreboding… almost like something is coming. Perhaps it would be best to find a way off this island.

Wrinkling my nose at the nasty surroundings, I look up and noticed that -thankfully- no one had noticed me. Taking pains not to get a splinter in my hoof, I try to manuever to a place where I can properly take off and get off this dump. Since I can't swim, a place surrounded by water was probably the worst place to be.

Ocean as far as the eye could see. I didn't think I could have the stamina to make it back to the mainland without flopping to my watery death. Not something I was looking forward too. Off to one side is a longrifle, and he has a small collection of some kind of metal spheres way to big to be shot, but way too small to be cannonballs. It is where you taught yourself to read basic script. Where you learned what the spirits want. Where you learned how to extract a heart without letting the courage drip out. But it is also full of horrors… secrets and shades that do not want to be awakened. You have treated it with reverence since you were small: no doubt that the bones have brought you back today for something momentous.
