PirateQuest: Chapter 2.11: Heads Will Roll Wf+6 341017

Seekkill
A drop of water from a stalactite makes contact with the floor. Well, not quite. It lands on a chalk white bone, and slithers along the side, before finally wrenching itself free and reaching impact.

The air is humid to a fault, not that it bothers you, but something is different, today. You can feel it in your bones. Perhaps your dice will provide further insight.

It is a misty dawn. From outside your lodgings, you see a mellow, overcast dawn has cracked. The sun is not visible through the clouds, but its heat is ubiquitous.

Sho Time
This morning is marginally better than the last, but only by a little. There was a miserable drizzle, and everything outside is soaked. This place is a dead end in the backwater of nowhere, but it's safe. Safe from that last engagement, and quiet for a change. The ponies here aren't demanding, nor constantly seeking to put others down. It's quaint, and perhaps even nice in a way. But the climate has got to go. It's foreboding… almost like something is coming. Perhaps it would be best to find a way off this island.

You are in a little ramshackle hut that barely passes for "inn", in the middle of the most pitiful excuse for a village you've ever been in, on an island somewhere in the Manesian Sea, and your inner escape artist is telling you to find a way off.

Everyone Else
You know where you are. It's morning. Get going.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341018

>>341017
Let's give Spring a little more time, but I might visit her lated today…

OOh, let's find Ruxiang for now!

341019

>>341017
Now, let's Seance with the bard who speaks too much.

Roll #0 5 = 5

341020

I take my dice out of their pouch and toss them across a smooth section of the floor.

Roll #0 1, 1, 3, 1, 4, 2, 3, 2 = 17

341021

>>341020
I scratch a few lines between several of the dice, sprinkle some dust above them, then collect them carefully. After all of that is done I take my things, all of them, and fly out into the forest. The spirits have something big in store for me, it seems.

Roll #0 1, 2, 4, 4, 1, 2, 2, 3 = 19

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341022

>>341021
God dammit.

Opal 341023

>>341017
Despite how relaxing this place was, Sho knew that he couldn't hope to stay here for long. He stretched his body with the limberness of a cat and yawned. Oh how he yearned to find a utopia that didn't seem so ominous. He poked his nose out from the dank little hut and trotted off.

Sho Time [Preacher] 341024

[s]forgot to change name, sorry [s]

Wf+6 341025

>>341018
You head up to the main deck of the Pillager's Fancy and look around. Ruxiang "the Eye" is at his usual post, in the crow's nest of the Seaworthy. You can cross from here, or just fly.

>>341019
You hear a round of applause emanate from the jar.

"Thank you, thank you, mares, gentlestallions, thank you so much for being here this morning, I have a wonderful show for you tonight. I've been providing entertainment for years and let me tell you, this is something to be excited about. And for this evening, I'm going to have a guest from the audience participate. Everyone please, give a warm welcome and round of applause for FELFIRE THE NECROMANCER!"

The cheering increases significantly in volume.

>>341021
The thick, cloudy air is suffocating, and makes it hard to breathe, but you've grown used to it over the years. You are a predator: this is your environment. Instead of submitting, you take in a great breath and dominate it. On the prowl, you tear through the mists.

Your bones haven't given you the information you want. Maybe you need fresh ones? You could search the overgrowth below, or try to figure out what's amiss on your own.

>>341023
>>341024
We tend to use first person here.

You're in the middle of what could be reasonably referred to as a shantytown. Everything here almost looks like they went to great pains to make it out of the most decayed wood to ever wash up on the beach, and there are obligatory planks sticking loose at odd angles from every structure present. There are a few ponies going about their business, but none seem to take notice of you.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341026

>>341025
Just fly, duh, that's what my pretty wings are for

Felfire [Necromancer] 341027

>>341025
Roll my eyes.
"Show is over everypony. It's morning. Get your drunk asses out of here, I should talk with the gentlestallion over there."

341028

>>341025
Fresh bones for the spirits and a meal for me. With my blowgun firmly in claw I skim over the brush and search for a small group of targets.

Roll #0 3 = 3

Wf+6 341029

>>341026
You soar up to the crow's nest where Ruxiang is perched, giving you a bored look. You can see he has a whole collection of guns up here, large and small. He's reclining against the mast, keeping the pressure off his stub.

"What?"

>>341027
The ethereal applause dies out, and you're left for silence for a few moments.

"Well, what will it be this time, Felfire?"

>>341028
Though you soar through the canopy with impressive predation, you only manage to spook some birds. Maybe further toward the shore…

Sho Time [Preacher] 341030

>>341025
got it,
Wrinkling my nose at the nasty surroundings, I look up and noticed that -thankfully- no one had noticed me. Taking pains not to get a splinter in my hoof, I try to manuever to a place where I can properly take off and get off this dump. Since I can't swim, a place surrounded by water was probably the worst place to be.

341031

>>341029
I flap a few times and continue onwards towards the shore, keeping my eyes open for anything.

Roll #0 2 = 2

Felfire [Necromancer] 341032

>>341029
"I know I'm missing something. Not seeing it. What is it?"
Also, is Terrebonne in this room?

Wf+6 341033

>>341030
You quickly make your way to the town's excuse for a dock, which is really just a few planks of wood nailed together that happen to be by the sea. Sometimes sloops dock here over night, but the fisherponies seem to have already gone out for the day to bring home the bounty. Unless you wait until nightfall, you'll need some other way off this rock. Maybe some of the ponies in town know.

>>341031
Near the shore you find even less. It's almost as if all the animals have been spooked off. Ominous, to say the least. Now getting a proper answer out of the bones is more important than ever.

>>341032
Terrebonne is already up for the day. She's somewhere else.

He slyly remarks, "Clearly it's your mane, Felfire. I can tell you haven't seen it by the way you haven't bothered to correct it after the ravages of yesterday and the night. How can you have just looked in a mirror, anyway?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341034

>>341029
OOOOhhh!
What sort of guns?
Do I recognise their models and stuff?
'1d10'

"Shiny! You didn't say you had more than one of these babies!"

Roll #1 10 = 10

Felfire [Necromancer] 341035

>>341033
"That's the other point, the mirror. I want to know about the spark, the curse you were talking about yesterday.
Oh, and this stone too."
Take the stone Terrebonne left the other night and symbolically place it in front of the jar.

341036

>>341033
I land at the nearest pieces of flat rock I can see. Carefully, I pour some dust into my bag of dice and shake it before casting them all.

Roll #0 3, 4, 3, 3, 1, 4, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3 = 28

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341037

>>341036
I don't move a muscle as I stare at them.

341038

>>341033
Ocean as far as the eye could see. I didn't think I could have the stamina to make it back to the mainland without flopping to my watery death. Not something I was looking forward too. I groaned, shaking my head in dismay. Served me right for oversleeping! I turned tail and kicked a seashell in anger.

Roll #0 8 = 8

Wf+6 341039

>>341034
You recognize most of them.

There are a few blunderbusses, but they look modified. You're not sure what they're for, but they're chained up next to a rack full of pistols. Off to one side is a longrifle, and he has a small collection of some kind of metal spheres way to big to be shot, but way too small to be cannonballs. You're almost surprised he doesn't have a cannon up here with his arsenal.

"No, I didn't say."

>>341035
He gives you a lighthearted chuckle. "Terrebonne could teach you about the Spark. After all, she invented it, didn't she? Oh! Did I let that one slip? Well, I'm sure she won't shoot the messenger. It was good for a laugh, right? Ah ha ha!"

>>341036
>>341037
You are perched on a rock at the beach's edge.

It's a good thing you didn't move a muscle. As you stare into the bones, the world around them slowly comes into focus. Inches away from you, just below the surface of the water, you see a crocodile, lying in wait. They're made of bones, right?

>>341038
It flies pretty far. It even skips twice before sinking into the sea.

Perhaps there's something zen in all this about how the sea consumes everything. Or maybe zen is bullshit.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341040

>>341039
Take a closer look at the longrifle.
And point at the spheres.

"What are those? And do you use all these?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341041

>>341039
"A genius, I always knew it."
Smirk.
"But yeah, you didn't answer half of the questions, that's quite rude.
The stone, what's his secret?"

341042

>>341039
Moving slowly and smoothly I carefully reach into my bag and withdraw a small shell stopped up with gum from a tree. Moving as quickly as I can I crush it against the top of the alligator's skull and let the poison inside spill out.

Touch of Death

Roll #0 10 = 10

Wf+6 341043

>>341040
"Bombs. Yes."

>>341041
A faux-crowd gives a hysterical round of ghostly laughter. "I'm here dishing out deep dark secrets, and you want to know about some rock? Get a load of this girl! This is like that time Cloudy Stripes asked Abilio to cut a rug! He was insulted she wanted to destroy his upholstery."

>>341042
Well, let no one say you aren't the king of this jungle. Before it even has time to react, shards of shell are embedded in its brain. The poison is everywhere! You lick a little off of your talons in celebration of its instant death. It tastes good. Tastes like inner strength. Like immunity.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341044

>>341043
Get closer to him excitedly.
"What sort of boms? Where did you get all these guns? Do you have any special ammo?"

Wf+6 341045

>>341044
"Smoke, shrapnel, magic. Made them. Yes."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341046

>>341043
"It's cute how you think I care about wordly secrets."
Smile.
"But all I care for, is the veil. You too, by that extent.
And by another extent, all that you know about this stone."
Tap it again.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341047

>>341045
"OOoh, sharpnel sounds good! And what sort of magic?"

Wf+6 341048

>>341046
He gives you his best insulted voice.

"What, so just because my name in Moonbeam I automatically know about moonstones? What kind of racism is that? Or namism? Discrimination!"

Wf+6 341049

>>341047
He jerks up a bag full of white powder. "Best kind."

341050

>>341043
I pull it out of the water and fly it back to my cave. I enjoy my hearty meal as I skin it and throw the worthless green scraps to the side. Once the carcass is picked clean I select the smallest bones I can find and make sure that they still have bits of flesh attached. After carefully carving the correct symbols into them with my knife I toss them across the floor of the cave.

Roll #0 4, 4, 2, 3, 1, 4, 2, 2, 2 = 24

Felfire [Necromancer] 341051

>>341048
"When did I call this a moonstone?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341052

>>341049
Grin at him as widely as possible with glittering eyes.
"Show me?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341054

>>341050
I laugh and crack open a long bone to suck on as I look through my old dice and select the ones to be replaced.

Wf+6 341055

>>341051
"Well it's not my fault you don't know anything about rocks. Besides for the ones in your skull, that is. Do ho ho."

>>341054
Well, these dice are not uncertain at all about your course of action. They point straight to the dead center of the island. Your cave is about half way: there's a sort of ridge between here and there, but for a winged monster like you, it's not a great distance. What could be waiting for you there?

>>341052
He shrugs. "Okay, but remember, only first time free."

He digs out a small bag small enough to fit comfortably in your hoof and and tosses it to you. "Start slow. Magic dust is potent."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341056

>>341055
"You do seem knoledgeble thou. So if you had a piece of moonstone with you, what would you do with it?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341057

>>341055
Look at the bag, then back at him.
"And uh… how does this work exactly?"

Wf+6 341058

>>341056
"Oh, gee, I dunno audience, what do you think a ghost might do with a rock? Haunt it?"

Another round of laughter.

>>341057
He gives you a condescending look, draws his blade, and slashes across the side of the bag in one fluid motion, then lurches forward and pushes your face into the powder.

Roll for surprise. 1=Unflappable, 10=BIG GASP.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341059

>>341058
Thefuck?!
'1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

Felfire [Necromancer] 341060

>>341058
"Okay quiz time then. For your audience too.
What should a poor girl like me with this rock?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341061

>>341055
I crush all but my three oldest dice, for those are the special ones, with a large rock and sweep the dust into a pouch before dropping the dice into another. From the back of my gave I gingerly retrieve an old, beaked skull and wrap it in a large piece of alligator skin. I put it into my bag and fly off to the center of the island.

Sho Time [Preacher] 341062

>>341039
The plop only reminded me of how easily it was for the ocean to eat me up without a second thought. Now the water was only making me angry. Flipping my mane in agitation, I start to gallop back to the town. Maybe I could find something to eat.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341063

>>341060
>What should a poor girl like me do with this rock?

Wf+6 341064

>>341060
"SURVEY SAYS!"

You hear a ding ring out.

"Huh? No, no, audience, I don't think she should eat it. But really, Felfire, what you should do with it is really dependent on what you want out of it, isn't it? For instance, if you had a bouquet of flowers, you might give it to a corpse to romance it, or put it on a funeral plot to make yourself feel better about romancing those corpses, or put it in your windowbox to make other people think you're normal and not the kind of pony that fucks corpses."

>>341059
You take a nice deep breath. Things… start to get weird. For one, the ships in the fleet now look small enough to pick up, like they're bath toys. For the other, big fluffy sheep are trying to smother you with hugs.

>>341061
You immediately take off and sail up the outer ridge of the island. You notice a small pillar of smoke ahead in a small patch of forest as you approach the crest in your trajectory for the middle. Roll for luck with your next action.

>>341062
You find a small bazaar in town. It's where you've been getting your food for the last few days, and you're starting to get sick of seafood. Fish, shrimp, crabs, seaweed… it's all seafood. The shifty vendor even tries to pass off a block of food as wood, but you're not falling for it.

On the upside, the locals are chatting freely around here. It's a good place to get information. You hear a flood of different conversations.

"…and they're more often than ever, too…"
"…probably displeased the local spirits…"
"…be back by sundown, with the fisherponies…"
"…no doubt, but such baubles are rare…"
"…and the beast's appetite is voracious, lives in caves…"
"…even here, missionaries visit on occasion…"
"…but that stranger has put up a fit near the sea…"
"…mainland no doubt stepping up patrols due to the rumors of pirates…"
"…overcast again, that's eight days in a row…"
"…it's an even flow, but low tide is early, and the stench unbearable…"
"…three forest fires in the last week…"
"…if I had the bits for it, I would…"
"…no one has the time, these days…"
"…it's work, if menial…"
"…and of course the Elders won't approve of it…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341065

>>341064
"But what is that I can do with this rock I can't do with any other kind of rock?" Smirk slightly.

341066

>>341064
I curve around the smoke as I fly. Big things are coming, and I want to be alive to see them.

Roll #0 4 = 4

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341067

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341068

>>341064
Giggle at the toy ships.
They look weiiiiiiiiiiiiird.
Turn back to Ruxiang.
"Hehe…heh… I feel funny…"

341069

>>341064
I missed the mainland. If I had to smell any more fish I think I would slap a zebra. My stomach still ached from last nights shitty shrimp. The incesssant chatter shook me out of my bad mood, especially the sweet voices of some lovely unicorns. It was all bad news it seemed. Talk of pirates and Spirits rarely were conversations of joy. I shuddered at the thought. I approached the lovely pony that was talking about pirates.

"Um, excuse me!" I piped up. "Do you know where I can find some fruits or anything that isn't fishy to eat…miss?"

Roll #0 9 = 9

Wf+6 341070

>>341068
At first you think he's not there, but then you realize he's on one of the toy ships in the crow's nest. He's so small you can't hear him. You pick him up and put him in your ear, and he tells you, "You're too high."

>>341066
The sky is suspiciously empty of other flighted creatures today. This is an omen, no doubt.

You curve around the big pillar of smoke and head for the center of the island. You remember why you don't come here. It's the ruins from the beforetime, in the long, long ago. You can see them peaking, with their highest reaches, out of the treetops. The whole place is covered in spirits, good and bad. You have mixed memories of this place. It is where you taught yourself to read basic script. Where you learned what the spirits want. Where you learned how to extract a heart without letting the courage drip out. But it is also full of horrors… secrets and shades that do not want to be awakened. You have treated it with reverence since you were small: no doubt that the bones have brought you back today for something momentous.

>>341065
He gives you the tsk. "Maybe if you didn't think so much about yourself, you'd have time to think about others. For a pony named Felfire you sure don't have much time for Fellows, do you?"

>>341069
She gives you a grave look. "If you're looking for game, you should know they've all disappeared as of late. No birds. No beasts. Only fish. Even the beekeeper's stock has abandoned him. The cavekeeper has the fungus. It's your best bet, if you have the liking for lichen."

She laughs a little at her own joke.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341071

>>341070
"I've been never called high, I'm only average mare tall!"
Try to suppress a giggle.
'1d10'
"Or am I flying too high?"

Are my wings flapping? Am I even flying?

Roll #1 6 = 6

Felfire [Necromancer] 341072

>>341070
"Oh…!"
Well that was strange.
"So… Which one of my fellow crewmembers is the one I should be most concerned about, uh? Because you know me, Moonbeam. There is one thing and only one I want.
To learn."

Wf+6 341073

>>341071
Now that you think of it, you crane your head back. Your wings smile and nod vigorously, assuring you they're hard at work.

>>341072
"Oh, don't mind me, just trying to secure your immortal soul's eternal fate, feel free to disregard it for worldly pleasures."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341074

>>341070
I land in a spot that lies between where good spirits gather and where bad spirits gather. I lie my staff down so that it points straight ahead and wait for a sign.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341075

>>341073
"But my dear, my soul will live forever once I've learnt all there is to know about the veil~"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341076

>>341073
Smile back and wave at them.
"Keep up the good work!~"

341077

>>31070
I cringed. 'Actually, I think I might have a liking for you, can I have a taste?' I thought, smiling in spite of my lewd thoughts. What would she think of me? I bowed and nodded. "Ah..thanks anyway." I sighed, disappointed. Where could have all the food went? Was this island cursed?

Roll #0 8 = 8

Wf+6 341078

>>341074
The world is painfully silent. There are no prey creatures out making noise. It is dangerously quiet, and the music of the world has ceased in deadly silence.

You wait for a long period, and wait. Quiet. Almost as if even the spirits have left. But eventually, you think you feel them beckoning you in.

Deep within the temple, you hear something shift. That's a sign: no doubt about it.

You are on a rise between four doorways, each of which has a staircase that leads down into the darkness of the temple.

>>341076
They continue to nod vigorously at you. They're hard workers.

>>341075
"Not in every future!"

Another howling round of laughter from the audience.

>>341077
She loses interest in you almost immediately and goes back to buying seafood. Looks like at least one pony isn't tired of it yet.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341079

>>341078
Do a loop in the air!

Then try to land safely where I was before!
'1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

Felfire [Necromancer] 341080

>>341078
"Help me find the right one then.
Make it a game to entertain your audience.
Will you be able to steer the poor Felfire towards the one path that will bring her happiness in her everlasting un-life?"

341081

>>341078
I pick one of my three old dice out of my pouch. I give it a quick lick, press it against each of the skulls on my staff, then close my eyes and let the die fall from above my head.

Roll #0 4 = 4

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341082

Where am I?

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341083

>>341081
After opening my eyes and checking the die I retrieve it and my staff. Turning to face the door way that was behind me I tap each of its four corners with my staff before going down the stairs.

Wf+6 341084

>>341079
You do manage a loop… you think, but you lose track of the sheep and the toy ships. Pretty soon, the air tastes pretty salty, and you don't like the way it's sort of not being absorbed by your lungs.

The curtains start to close on your vision, and the studio lights dim, but then a blanket punctures your chest, and you get pulled along by the hems. You're coughing up eels one moment, and you black out…

When you regain consciousness, you feel a lot more clear-headed. There's a male griffon standing over you, looking imposing. He prods your gut another time with a talon and you sputter out a fresh round of seawater.

>>341080
"I do love games, but I don't think we have enough time left in our show. Let's just leave with some parting words: you're going to want the one who keeps saving your mortal flesh to like you enough to continue to save your mortal flesh, or there may not be enough left by the end of the next few weeks to put a soul back into. And with that, I'll play us out!"

He starts an upbeat medley to the applause of his audience, then it starts to fade.

>>341082
On the ship. You bailed before things got too hairy and helped them load the gold.

Your accommodations are… wanting. Still, it's a good way to see the world, and you don't have to worry about any restrictions on your experimentation. Or rent, for that matter. The one who hired you referred you to your new captain, one known as The Fullmaster: Abilio. Apparently he has use for you when you have the time, or you can wander the ships. You are aboard The Pillager's Fancy, your new home.

>>341083
It's total darkness, but that's not a problem for you. You know this halls. So many memories… washed together, through and through.

You follow the ebb and flow of the spirit world to some of the deepest catacombs. It's too dark to see the text, you'll have to feel about for it.

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341085

>>341084
"Pillager's… Fancy. How worldly."

May as well go meet my crewmates. How about that Necromancer mare? Go find Felfire, wherever she is.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341086

>>341084
Wince.
Well I had to go look for Doc Peg anyway.
I like that guy.
So he just doesn't like me?
Damn that's a downer.
Let's wake up the dragon, shall we?
'1d10' for seance.
Who's the other jar?

Roll #1 6 = 6

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341087

>>341084
Cough again, then pick my head up and try to crawl slightly back to make distance.
"Urgh… what just happened?"

341088

>>341084
I tuck my staff under a wing, being sure to keep the end with the skulls and bones elevated above the bottom end, and start feeling around for what the spirits want to show me.

Roll #0 10 = 10

Wf+6 341089

>>341086
Gar the Terrible, Narrow Moonbeam, and Instructor Thatch, plus a jar of freshly coalesced ichor from The Cobbler. I can't even remember his name.

"Nary still it speaks thusly: and to narrow conclusions it quickly halts questioning retort. Mellow in ambition and triumphant in the vigorless claw, driven unto the past of a fortune still yet untold. Careless! Beckoned still to wrongful impositions. A ship without a bilge: into the black, without Terrible guide. Benevolent and unblinking, truthful words more honestly bespake a lifetime ago, another time, another place, another speaker, another listener. Undo quick answers. Yours is the candle that burns at both ends in patient impatience. The filly sleeps under the same moon as the teacher, in both your sense and hers. The parallels are so deviously fated, a beautiful carouse of nature."

>>341087
"You were acting undignified. You took a dive for the sea. You almost drowned."

You start feeling, but soon you realize they are too impatient for merely feeling around. Runes along the wall begin to glow. Your understanding of script is not perfect, but you gather what they mean. You read "doom", "hateful fire", and "heart"…

But the spirits gather about you, and other words, from other prophecies and histories light up in time. "Hope", "ship", "sea", "escape", and one last one…

"Outsiders."

The letters dim, and you are left in darkness for a time. Then letters begin to alight.

And with that, they all go out once and for all. With a grimace, you grapple with the cracks between the bricks as the whole island temple shakes. Dust flies everywhere. You nearly fear for its collapse, but as soon as it had begun, it has ended. You're unsure what has changed, but suddenly, you no longer feel thickness in the air. The spirits have abandoned this place at long last. It feels empty and disquieting. Beyond dead. Voided. Null.

"Right. Money. I'm here because this place is crawling with scholars of the vail, everywhere! It's a dream come true!"

Wf+6 341205

>>341204
Landgrave answers the door, giving a serious look. He's as well dressed as ever, even given the intensive raid yesterday. Unlike some of the other leaders, like Abilio, who look like they took a few bullets in the line of leadership, he doesn't look like he even took a mote of dust to his mane.

"What are you bothering me about?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341206

>>341202
I fly into the air and start circling my island home one last time. I have my things from the cave, as well as the skull with the old, faded, worn cloth carefully tucked inside it.

Do I feel anything else calling to me?

Felfire [Necromancer] 341207

>>341205
"Took care of that problem of yours in the city yesterday, here for my pay."
How does his cabin look?

341208

>>341204
"Good luck be with you. Any scholars you could introduce? "

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341209

>>341203
"…Aaaanyway, thanks for saving me again, but I think I'll take my leave now. Have stuff to do and stuff, but you'll absolutely need to teach me this trick someday, okay?"

Wf+6 341210

>>341207
It doesn't even look like it's part of the ship. You briefly consider that his threshold might be a dimension door, because it looks like a mansion bedroom. It's huge, and there are literally marble columns inside. You think you see a fountain! He also seems to have guests.

"I had many problems with that detestable little mistake of a city. You'll have to be more specific."

One of his guests seems to scrunch, but the rest enjoy a laugh at his expense.

Wf+6 341211

>>341209
"Perhaps, if you show the aptitude."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341212

>>341208
"That depends. Which. Part of the dark arrts do you fancy?"
>>341210
"Hammond. Is this some sort of Tartarian gate?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341213

>>341206
>>341210
Is there really nothing left to see on the island? No little things at all?

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341214

>>341211
"I'll do my best! Catch you later!"

Wink at him nonsexually then go and find Spring.

341215

>>341212
Truly, I have little interest in the Dark Arts, what I want to do is break the limits of 'reality'. What do you recommend?

Wf+6 341216

>>341213
You feel the memories stir inside you as you look over every last corner of what has been your domain for many years. Not only does nothing call to you, it seems to urge you to go. You wonder why, for a time. Why would your home reject you? Why would the spirits flee? What were the prophecies warning of?

Then it happens. A literally earth-shattering boom. The entire middle of the island, which once housed your revered temple, gives way, and all collapses, along with the light tower, into what is now obviously a caldera. Not that you understand the concepts 'lava' or 'volcano', but it is what stands before you as the red rocks you observed before now shoot hundreds of feet in the air. You watch a piece of slag zoom past you and hit a palm tree, literally ripping it apart and lighting the rest on fire. Ah. That's the doom.

Lava begins to pour down the sides of the mountain as well. If you're not caught in the laval downpour, it will no doubt cover the entire landscape soon.

>>341212
He ignores your question and dumps a pocketwatch in your hooves. "Enjoy. Now good day, I have more important ponies to discuss things with."

He slams the door in your face.

>>341214
You find her in the hold looking for something to pilfer for Summer to eat.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341217

>>341216
Time to go. I dive down to the village, grab the small pony I saw before, and fly out over the great water surrounding my home.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341218

>>341216
Fuck that guy. Inspect the pocketwatch as I make my way towards Blue Topaz.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341219

>>341216
I hope she didn't see me yet.
Turn back.
Go to anywhere I can get food, and quick!

341220

>>341218
"Rude one, is that one not? "

Felfire [Necromancer] 341221

>>341220
"Yeah. Could you tell what was going on with the door?"

Wf+6 341222

>>341219
That would be here, or the hold of a different ship.

Notably, only the Seaworthy has an area to actually prepare food.

>>341218
In all fairness, this is a very nice pocketwatch. It looks to be made out of pure gold, and there's something magical about it. You could always hock it if you weren't interested in the enchantment.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341223

>>341222
Go to that area of the Seaworthy then!

Felfire [Necromancer] 341224

>>341222
Not interested in something magical? Blasphemy.
Does it work normally? Can I tell what enchantment it holds?
'1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

341225

>>341221
"I am afraid not, though I am now interested. What say you to a sneak-in?"

>automated

Wf+6 341226

>>341217
You gracefully dive and pluck the little pegasus off the ground as you zoom past the village. The stunned little thing doesn't even know how to react. Maybe it thinks you're doing it a favor, flying it away from that island of certain death.

Soon, its struggles cease entirely, and you come upon a fleet of ships, three in all, which seemed to be drawn in by the light. They seem to be bustling with activity. These must be the outsiders.

>>341223
You find it rather quickly. There's already an earth pony busy cooking eggs.

>>341224
It does seem functional as a watch, but you have no idea how to go about determining its purpose.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341227

>>341226
I dive down and land on one of the ships, but keep a tight grip on my morsel. What do these outsiders look like?

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341228

>>341226
"Heya! Uh, quick, I need to get food for three!"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341229

>>341225
"Piece of advice: around here, never go against the superior officers. Knowing Abilio this guy could probably see us coming from miles away.
Take a look at this watch instead."
>>341226
Buttons?

341230

>>341229
Activate Far Sight on the watch.

Roll #0 7 = 7

Wf+6 341231

>>341227
They're a salty lot. You can tell every last one of them, even the miserable peons are battle-hardened. They're all like you: predators.

Another Griffon alights in front of you, though most of is body is covered in cloth wrappings. You almost sense his skill. The confidence in his movements.

"A refugee. You are bold to land on a pirate ship."

>>341228
He gives you a look that says, Are you serious?

>>341230
You get a good look at it.

>>341229
Just the button to open and close the cover. Maybe someone knowledgeable in artifacts, enchantments, or jewelry might know more.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341232

>>341231
Oh alright, I'll ask Abilio to have a look at it.
So, where is Blue Topaz and do I even see the gryphon landing on the ship?
'1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341233

>>341231
"Listen, just stop keeping me up, I was in that raid, I emptied a fucking bank, if it's about money I'll give it to you later when I get paid, but right now, just give. Me. Food. For three ponies, got it?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341234

>>341231
Curses. I knew I should have eaten before I left. I maintain my grip on the small pony as I speak.
"Pirat?"

Wf+6 341235

>>341232
NOPE TOO FOCUSED ON THAT WATCH.

You find Blue Topaz in a sort of makeshift Officer's Quarters down in the hold. Or at least, her door. Her door's handle is silver.

>>341233
He shrugs and flicks some very tasty looking omelets, bacon, french toast, sausage, pancakes, and biscuits with gravy onto a big platter. It looks good enough to raise the dead.

>>341234
A hearty chuckle goes out through the crew. One of the ponies cries out, " 'E's a savage!"

The Griffon doesn't laugh, though. He gives you a serious appraisal. "You look like you can handle a weapon, Savage… Are you looking for passage?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341236

>>341235
"Thank you thank you thank you!"

Take it and go back to Spring!

Felfire [Necromancer] 341237

>>341235
I seriously hope I'm not bothering.
Knock.
"Felfire, for the bank job."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341238

>>341235
I use a wing to gesture towards the island that just exploded.
"Pas-sage escape?"

Wf+6 341239

>>341236
You find Spring has disappeared from the hold, but after some questioning, you track her back to the brig of the Darklantern.

She's settled in sharing a couple apples with her daughter.

>>341237
"Yeah, come in, come in."

Wf+6 341240

>>341238
"Yes."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341241

>>341239
Open the door and walk in, taking sight of the room.
'1d10' to look better.
"I hope I'm not intruding…"

Roll #1 1 = 1

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341242

>>341240
"Yes. Passage."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341243

>>341239
Show her the food.
"Surprise! I thought you might want something more filling after yesterday, so… here it is!"

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341244

>>341241
"Blue Topaz?"

Wf+6 341245

>>341241
You wander into Blue Topaz's room, which is full of valuables, not to mention the even creature valuables in the cage behind her. You notice right away that she speaks in kind of a funny accent, but you can't quite place it.

You might have an easier time paying attention if you weren't staring at a beautiful oil painting of a hundred corpses in a ditch, which is sitting off to the side, and getting wet at the thought.

>>341242
He nods. "So be it. And what do you offer me in exchange for the passage?"

>>341243
Spring is mildly surprised, but Summer's eyes get as big as saucers and she runs over to dig in. Well, someone seems pleased.

Spring Water looks mildly impressed.

>>341244
"The one and only," she remarks, without looking up.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341246

>>341245
I lift it pony I snagged by the back of it's neck and offer it to him.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341247

>>341245
"I miss Fervor.."
Okay back to business, turn to the lady.
"So, when do we get our share from the looting and the bank job?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341248

>>341245
At least while Summer is busy eating that gives me time to chat with Spring.

Rub the back of my neck.
"So, I know you said you wanted some time for yourself, but I thought you wouldn't mind this…"

Wf+6 341249

>>341246
The little filly is still too stunned from the shock to react.

Al-Jinn considers the offering, and nods with a smile. "It's a little light for a slave, but we'll find a use for it, and I'm feeling generous today. Welcome to the crew."

Al-Jinn takes hold of the filly and hands it off to be taken to be fitted for a collar.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341250

"Croo."
I smile back at him then turn to face the island. I sprinkle dust on my head and wings then rub it in to show my thanks to the spirits for their warning and the help they gave me.

341251

>>341247
"The same. I was promised a fair percent. "

Wf+6 341252

>>341247
>>341251
"Yes… delivery was received… your earnings…"

Without even looking up she pushes a pile toward Felfire. "5% for hazard pay."

Then she pushes another pile toward Borders. "2.5% for services rendered."

>>341248
She hesitates a little, "I appreciate it…"

>>341250
The island is fading into the distance now as the ships have changed course. They're not even going to look for survivors: the lava has reached the shore. Perhaps the fisherponies got out. You briefly wonder if they'll survive to create a new village.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341253

>>341252
I sigh and frown.
"I know what you think. No, I don't ask anything for it in exchange. It's on my tab, so just feel free and enjoy it."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341254

>>341252
"Much oblidged. Does that count the mint grips we got you?"

341255

>>341252
It doesn't matter. They never tried to pay attention to the spirits, so they deserve what they get. Speaking of that I toss my dice onto the floor away from any of the sides.

Roll #0 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 2, 3, 2, 3, 4 = 33

Wf+6 341256

>>341253
"It's not that. I don't think you're doing it for a reward anymore. I think…"

She hesitates again. "I see you walk a tightrope, and you could be a good pony or a wicked pony. Sometimes you are very good, and other times, very bad. It makes me feel conflicted."

>>341254
"It does. They were the target of the obligation. That said you are being awarded additional hazard pay from the looting…"

She slides three more doubloons off her scale onto your pile. There are eleven in all in your pile, and four in Border's.

>>341255
Good omens.

341257

>>341252
"I was put into danger as well, you know. Surely I'd get 5 percent as well?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341258

>>341255
>>341257
I grin and gather my dice before wandering the ship.

Wf+6 341259

>>341257
"The percentage is not based on how much danger you were in, but based on how much you accomplished."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341260

>>341256
"I've been sort of trying to be good since I met you. Good influence and all that."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341261

>>341256
Eleven. Fucking. Doubloons.
Plus the two I already had, that's 13. I'm rich.
I'm motherfuking rich.
I guess I'll keep the copper wings.
>>341257
"Don't take it too bad. At least you didn't lose any body parts."
Show him the copper-covered wings.

Wf+6 341262

[Pause]

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341263

>>341252
>>341257

"Was it not your crew who requested my services so the operation would be possible in the first place?"

>>341261
"Ah. Gruesome."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341264

>>341263
"Doc said the only way to get them working again is to cut them off and grow them anew."

BDN 341266

>>341264
"That so? I wasn't aware they could even grow back. Well, perhaps if aided. I'd hate to think if anything happened to my horn."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341267

>>341266
"Needs materials for them to grow back. Which means money.
You should probably get some back up catalyst, you know."

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341268

>>341267
"Yeah. Hmm… I'm more interested in crafting one myself. Though hoarding money is good. It gives power over others."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341269

>>341268
"If you knew anything about dark magic we could work on soul catalysts together…"

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341270

>>341269
"That would be..I.. hmm. A mutual effort is good. But why not combine our fields of expertise? I work with spatial magic myself, mainly. We should gather a few more mages and see what we can come up with."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341271

>>341270
"I kind of already have a bunch of trainers right now, dunno how much free time I'm gonna get, sadly."

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341272

>>341271
"We will see, we will see. It was good to meet you."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341273

>>341272
"Mhmh. If you die can I bring you back for a quickie before resurrecting you?"

Borders Skewed [Mage] 341274

>>341273
"I… Well, I suppose it wouldn't matter. Nothing permanent, though. I quite like my body as it is."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341275

>>341274
"Oh trust me, so do I."
Give him a smile and go back to Topaz.

Wf+6 341309

>>341260
She nods quietly and cuts free a piece of pancake.

"What will become of you, Emrille? Do you walk through the world without future in mind?"

>>341263
Disinterestedly she looks up for the first time, but only for a second. "You are free to take it up with Captain Abilio, though he may just as soon have you walk the plank."

>>341275
Blue Topaz issue you your gold.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341312

>>341309
"You have really an impressive bunch of trinkets here."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341313

>>341309
Sit down facing her.
"I do have some plans. Getting rich, for example. I already did the first steps towards that!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341314

>>341309
Finally.

While Rosemary is resting, I get to exploring the ship a little bit. I'd like to get my reward. And speak to some ponies too. Create some contacts.

Tony [Trickster] 341318

Where am I?

Wf+6 341324

>>341314
Blue Topaz issues you hazard pay.

>>341312
"Mostly work-related. You have an interest in minting? It's a delicate art."

>>341313
She scrunches. "You care about some things more than money, right?"

>>341318
Napping in the bunkhouse on the Pillager's Fancy. That was a rough time to join the crew, during that raid, but now that things have quieted down, you can orient yourself.

You noticed a lot of corpses aboard the ship, and some other fresh blood like yourself. There must be high turnover. That only speaks to the skill of the ranking officers on each ship.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341325

>>341324
"More in trinkets, to be honest."
Show her the watch.
"I guess you recognize this, right?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341326

>>341324
I smirk and nod.
"Yeah. Like you."

Tony [Trickster] 341327

>>341324
No time for that.
Where's that money Wfski?

I look around the ship for someone who can tell me where to get my cut.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341329

>>341324
How much?

Also, can I accidentally run into Landgrave? I'd like to meet him.

Wf+6 341334

>>341325
She only has to glance up for a second before returning to her work.

"Did you steal it?"

>>341326
She rubs Summer's mane as she eats.

"Why? You've only known me a day."

>>341327
They direct you to Blue Topaz. Borders Skewed, Light Heart, and Felfire are congregating here, getting their cut. She issues you your pay.

>>341329
Not accidentally: he's cloistered in his chambers. Still, you should go to see him in his room to get paid for offing Hammond. As long as one person turns in a quest, everyone gets credited their rewards, but you can still go and ask for them to get the reward in character.

Tony [Trickster] 341339

>>341334
How much does she issue exactly? 6 doubloons?

Felfire [Necromancer] 341340

>>341334
"Nah. Landgrave gave it to me. Killed a guy he didn't like."
Pocket the watch again.
"So I guess you know about it."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341342

>>341334
Duly noted
Knock on his door.
Not a urgent knock
Not a soft knock
A polite knock

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341343

>>341334
"Yeah, but I feel like you are special. Somehow."

Wf+6 341349

>>341339
Yes. You can always view your total gold in the doc.

>>341340
"Just a trinket… the gold it's made of is more valuable than the watch, I'd say. It's worth a doubloon. Has an enchantment to keep you on time…"

Mechanically speaking, what the watch does is, ONCE, you may learn an additional skill for that day, but doing so ruins the watch. So you can either have +1 learning or +1 doubloon.

>>341342
He swings open the door. He's apparently entertaining guests.

"Yes?"

>>341343
"I think you could be special, too, Emrille. But you have to make that choice."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341350

>>341334
I softly smile as Spring rubs my mane.
"Why'd you bring us the food, Miss Emrille?"
>>341343
>>341349
"Huh? Special?"

Wf+6 341352

>>341350
She laughs and ruffles your mane some more.

"I mean she could choose to be a good pony instead of a bad one. Everypony can make that choice, right Summer?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341353

>>341350
"Because you two looked hungry and I'm still sorry for what happened yesterday and stuff… and yeaaah, I thought I'd try and make up for it. You two deserve it."

>>341349
"I can try! And I will!"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341354

>>341349
Got it.
"Nah I like it. Got enough money as it is, for now."
Take my money, the watch and go back to Terrebonne's room, stock that stuff with my stash.
Then go find Summer Seas with the Moonstone.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341355

>>341349
I give a polite nod
"Sir Landgrave I presume? Good day, I am lady Light Heart. I was part of the group sent to tackle master Hammond."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341360

>>341353
I sour at the mention of yesterday's events, and huddle closer to Spring.

Wf+6 341364

>>341355
"Yes, I imagine you're here about your pay. I'm entertaining guests at the moment. Unless…"

He considers it. "You look like a well-mannered addition to the crew. If you think you can maintain your poise, I'll offer you something better than the shilling I was going to pay out. You can join our table for breakfast. These are some of the most important ponies in Equestria."

>>341360
She pulls you into a hug from behind, so you can still face out and eat.

>>341354
You learn by word of mouth that she and her mother are back in the brig on the Darklantern.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341368

>>341364
"Feeling better by the way?"
Okay, I'll grab some small confectionary from the stuff too to eat.
"I almost drowned today too you know."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341371

>>341364
"Indeed? Why that sounds lovely, I accept your graceful offer."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341372

>>341364
That's not a very fancy place to sleep. Maybe I could take the filly with me, ask Terre…
Damn I'm imposing on her already as it is.
To the brig it is!
>>341360
"Hey kid. Got something for you."

Who else is here?

Wf+6 341373

>>341372
Spring Water and Emrille.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341374

>>341364
I reach out with a hoof and push the food away.
"I'm not hungry anymore…"
>>341368
"…no."
>>341372
"Huh?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341376

>>341368
Nod at her.
>>341373
And at Spring water.
>>341374
"Uh… We can talk when you are done. It's a stone. Long story."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341379

>>341376
"Hey."

>>341374
I frown.
"Please… I said I'm sorry. That was a complete disaster, I know, but it was not in vain!"

Wf+6 341382

>>341371
"The Countess Grinder, of Blackwood County. Viscountess Nihil, visiting from Autumnsreach, and Abbess Ballast, from one of the naval abbeys, Baron Baleful the Third, of the barony of Badnews, and of course, Lord-Mayor Goldenblood, of Stonebriar City. All ponies that any pony should know."

Wf+6 341383

>>341382
In turn with his introductions, he indicates one of the ponies at the table. The first three are mares, the last two are stallions.

Tony [Trickster] 341385

>>341349
I take the doubloons and study them with a critical eye for a moment. I bite in one of them, then I look happy.

"These are some fine bobs." I say to Blue Topaz while admiring another one in my hand."Heard about these pirate shinies. You made em?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341387

>>341382
"My sincerest apologies, I do not hail from Equestria myself."
I give a curt nod to all ponies present. What do they look like?
I also give pause when I hear that last name.
"The Lord-Mayor of Stonebriar? How… peculiar. "

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341391

>>341376
"A stone?"
I tilt my head at her.
>>341379
I sadly frown and look away, burying my face into Spring's chest.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341395

>>341391
"If it's not a good moment I can come back later, you know. But yeah. A stone. From Luna."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341396

>>341391
I sigh and look at Spring.
"I can't really make up for that, can I?"

Wf+6 341397

>>341385
Without looking up, she nods. She's appraising a gemstone quite critically.

>>341387
They're all ridiculously well-dressed, and none of them look like they've seen a day of work in their lives. The only one of them there that even resembles humble attire is the Abbess, whose neck is decked out with necklaces covered in jewels and icons.

>>341387
Landgrave begins. "Yes. The raid was an unfortunate necessity. All part of the master plan. We've been working at it for years, of course, and it's not particularly difficult to get a pony into an office. Hence our little circle."

The Lord-Mayor coughs and speaks up. "Yes, things were getting dreadful, I'm rather relieved to be free of the place. Fortunately I was able to get your crew to act as my moving service and get my valuables to the ship."

You seem to recall having looted his house. Is that what he's talking about?

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341402

>>341396
I meekly pull away to peek at her.
"…no."
>>341395
My ears perk up and I slowly pull away to look a bit more.
"A- A stone from Luna?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341404

>>341397
That crafty son of a bitch…
"Indeed, I must commend you for your plan in that case. Very masterful indeed. It is a shame that Colonel Rhett came along and cut things short. Either way, I imagine you must be quite pleased to see things working out as they did."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341406

>>341402
"Well, from the moon at least."
Smile at her.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341408

>>341402
I give her a pleading look.
"Nothing? No way? If you give me some time I could get you anything you want!"

Wf+6 341412

>>341404
"Oh, my, yes. I was feeling rather tied down there. Between that detestable little Order that had cropped up in my city and the cavalier guard, I'd just as soon be rid of it. We have what we needed from the place, in any case."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341414

>>341406
I move to get a better look at Felfire, a hint of excitement appearing in my voice.
"Really?…"
>>341408
…which promptly disappears.
"M- My momma… My momma di… d-… di…"
I start tearing up and bury my face back into Spring's chest again.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341416

>>341414
Look from Summer to Emrille.
Then, take Emrille apart and whisper to her.

"Maybe you should leave the kid alone for a while…
I mean, you are talking about how her mom died, you know…
"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341419

>>341414
"Yes, I know, but that was an unfortunate accident! But she's back and everything! At least you have a mother who actually loves you!"

>>341416
I sigh.
"You know kids. If I don't do something she'll just hold her grudge, and if she does, I can forget about Spring."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341421

>>341412
"I am pleased to hear so in that case. What shall you do now, if you do not mind me asking?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341422

>>341419
Roll my eyes.
"Whatever."

Turn to Summer.
"Kid calm down. Want to take a fresh breath?"

Tony [Trickster] 341423

>>341397
Flip one of the doubloons while looking at it.
"Back in the old country, me mum and dad worked a lot with all sorts of bobs and gems. You start to appreciate work like…" I turn back to Blue Topaz, see the gem and just stare at it for a second "..uh…like that."

Wf+6 341424

>>341414
She draws you in to comfort you.

>>341421
"We're off to Autumnsreach, I trust you've heard. Convenient for us how these things work out, isn't it? You see, apparently when the Stonebriar forces boarded the Darklantern during the assault, they managed to steal important documents and maps and put them on a Holy Guard scouting vessel, now retreating to the Holiest City in Equestria. Imagine our surprise that we have to give chase, given that's where we want to go."

A light chuckle from all the guests.

Wf+6 341425

>>341423
She nods her head again. "It's precise work. Exact value accounting… Important to a fleet that doesn't want to deal with inflation."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341427

>>341419
I start tearing up a bit harder from the yelling.
>>341422
"…c- can my momma come?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341428

>>341427
"I don't even know if you can, kid. I'm gonna ask, okay?"
>>341425
Trot off and find the pony that should guard the unicorns.
"Can you unlock their cage for a few minutes? I need to take a walk with them."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341430

>>341424
I look all of them over and smile politely
"I see. Autumnsreach does sound like quite the challenge. I imagine it will be crawling with those zealots."
I turn to the Viscountess
"Lady Nihil, correct? What are your thoughts on these holy ponies?"

Wf+6 341433

>>341428
It's not even locked. They don't seem concerned about the unicorns escaping in the middle of the sea.

>>341430
"Well, the Holy Guard are more useful than the Order. They actually serve Celestia, which pits them as our perennial foes for obvious reasons, but they are true paladins: they won't slay innocents, which makes them easier to deal with. That Order of the Virtuous? Impossible to deal with."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341436

>>341433
Thanks god they are not idiots.
Push the door open.
>>341427
"C'mon, let's go upstairs okay?"
Give her a smile.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341439

>>341436
>>341433
"Well, I'll let you be on your way then…"
Frown at Spring.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341440

>>341433
I nod
"I noticed that, yes. Dreadful individuals, that lot."
I give a moment of pause
"Could you tell me more about Autumnsreach? Is it much different from Stonebriar?"

Wf+6 341441

>>341439
She gives you a conflicted look and follows Summer.

Wf+6 341442

>>341440
"In every way imaginable, my dear. For one, the city is not walled. It's more like… a collection of shrines that turned into a city. You can imagine the headache it is trying to be the local secular ruler amongst priests, preachers, and crusaders."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341443

>>341436
I sadly wait for Spring to move to follow her.
>>341441
"Huh? What's wrong momma?…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341445

>>341441
Head outside and go to the prow of the ship.
"Fuck…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341446

>>341439
Move close and whisper.
"I keep the filly busy, you follow slow from behind and get your time with the mother.
Thank me later.
"
>>341443
"So kid, you don't wanna know about this stone from the moon and the dragon that told me to bring it to you?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341449

>>341442
"Hmm… yes, quite. Although, the lack of walls would simplify things slightly at least. I assume these ponies are all worshipers of the Sun exclusively?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341450

>>341446
"H- Huh? A dragon?…"

Wf+6 341454

>>341443
"Nothing… I just have hope for some ponies that others have given up on."

>>341449
"The vast majority. There are still pockets of 'benign' Luna followers and 'malignant' Nightmare Moon followers. And other lesser deities. Shrines to the Elements of Harmony. To the Laughing One, to Nature, to The Law."

Tony [Trickster] 341457

>>341425
I snap back from looking at the gem to looking at Topaz."..uh..inflation? Yes, inflation. Almost as bad as that Rhett lad."

I take another glance at the gem. Can I identify it? Spot check. '1d10'

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341458

>>341445
Hmm.
Are there any seagulls around?
'1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

Light Heart [Warlord] 341459

>>341454
"Hmmm… I imagine a lot of pilgrims must travel there then. Are they wealthy?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341462

>>341450
"Oh yes!"
Swoop to her side, move a hoof behind her back and with another slowly drag the other across the horizon in front of the both of us, speaking in a storytelling voice.
The bard must be rubbing off me.
"An old, enormous dragon of long past that now only talks in riddles! And if you don't understand them, with his tongue he strikes like burning ice!
And in his immense wisdom, he told me of you! To seek the one who loved Luna more than anypony else, and give her this stone!"

Let go of the filly and take out the stone, showing it to her.

Wf+6 341465

>>341457
Looks red 2 u m8. You guess maybe a ruby? Don't get cheeky wit me.

>>341458
Not a one. There is an albatross following the ship, though.

>>341459
"The city is omniferous. Producing all kinds."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341467

>>341465
"Great, I can't even target practice."
Fly on the other ship so I won't accidentally run into them, then just start wandering randomly.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341468

>>341465
"I see. I suppose I will experience it myself soon enough."
I guess I'll just start eating and listening for now

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341469

>>341462
I give her a bewildered look for her tall tale.
"He really… he really said that?"
I stare at the stone in awe.
Do I notice anything about it?
'1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

Tony [Trickster] 341470

>>341465
"Well I've got to get going. I see you got lotsa work to do." Put the doubloons away safely and start wandering around the ship.

Wf+6 341471

>>341467
>>341470
Emrille and Tony run into each other on the Seaworthy.

>>341469
Looks like a rock to you. Is she trying to make you look foolish?

>>341468
They chat idly about the port authority in Autumnsreach for a time, then it devolves mostly into jokes about the vulgarity of upper middle-class ponies.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341473

>>341471
>>341470
"Oh, hey. What's up?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341476

>>341471
It's a good thing I trained myself to bear stuff like this or I'd be vomiting out of my eyeballs by now

Keep listening, maybe I'll pick up on a juicy bit of information? '1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341477

>>341471
My awe and excitement falls.
I- It can't be?…
'1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

Felfire [Necromancer] 341478

>>341469
"Oh yeah. But he didn't tell me why I should give you this stone."

Wf+6 341480

>>341477
You kind of reach out in disbelief to touch it, but you immediately feel something when you do. The stone seems to call home. You feel compelled to take it… somewhere.

It pulls toward the bow of the ship… wherever it wants to go, you seem to be headed there anyway.

>>341476
Most of it is just niceties but you begin to piece a few things together. You get the distinct impression that one of these ponies is much more important than they've already implied. It's curious, though, because they seem the type that would want to brag about their titles.

And with that, breakfast comes to an end. At least the food was really good.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341482

>>341480
Follow the filly!

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341484

Well Tony doesn't seem to want to talk to me.

Keep wandering.

Tony [Trickster] 341485

>>341473
Look up and notice Emrille. "Oh hey, I was just looking around, trying to find out where I can get some food. What's up with you?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341486

>>341480
My eyes go wide as the stone starts guiding me.
What the heck is going on…
I guess I just keep following it.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341489

>>341484
Oh wait, nevermind.

>>341485
"Oh, I know where to get that…"
Let out a sigh.
"And not much I guess."

Wf+6 341490

>>341486
You run out of ship at the bow. Wherever the stone wants to go, it's still much too distant to even see: the sea stretches on to the horizon.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341491

>>341480
How peculiar.

Well, I bid my thanks and tell them I sincerely hope we could do this again soon.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341493

>>341490
>>341486
"Hey kid careful!"
Hold her.
"I can't catch you with my wings like this, if you fall in the water.
So, I take the stone works?"

Tony [Trickster] 341494

>>341489
"Could you show me the way? I'm starving."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341496

>>341494
"Of course, follow me."
Lead him to where I found the food.
"So how is being a pirate working out for you?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341497

>>341490
>>341493
"I don't know what it does… what's it supposed to do? It's so… weird."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341501

>>341497
"I don't know either kid. Just been told to pass it along."
Give her a little smile.

Tony [Trickster] 341503

>>341496
I grab some of the food.
"As long as we get shinies, that will work out just fine, mate. Except," turn to her "can you feel that wobbling?"

Wf+6 341504

>>341491
The nod and dismiss you. Interesting.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341506

>>341503
I raise an eyebrow.
"What wobbling?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341507

>>341504
I'm a little confused. Who is more important than they imply?
Right. Time to leave then.
Let's go see Smitts, I could use his advice

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341508

>>341501
"Huh…"
I hold the stone up to the horizon and just watch for a few minutes.
Do I remember when I'm supposed to start that whole education thing?

Wf+6 341509

>>341497
Spring pats you gently. "If it is from Luna, as she says, it's probably important. She said some kind of dragon gave it to her? When did you meet a dragon, Felfire?"

>>341507
That is yet to be revealed.

You find Smitts in his cabin. He opens the door before you can knock.

"Enjoyed breakfast?"

Wf+6 341510

>>341508
You were SUPPOSED to start last night, but Landgrave never stopped by. Looks like he forgot in the excitement. It would seem even high class ponies still forget.

Tony [Trickster] 341511

>>341506
Take a small bite. "You know, the ship going up and down. I just never get used to it. I'd rather have some good old dirt under me feet" Tap with one of my feet "but gotta make a living somehow right?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341512

>>341511
"Oh, that!"
I chuckle.
"Nah, I think it's relaxing. Feels like a foal crib, only bigger. And with more canons."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341513

>>341509
"It's more of a dragon… brain, rather than a whole dragon. And I think he lived a few hundread years ago.
And he's a seer.
But he gives me a headache every time he talks. As I said, riddles.
Wanna meet him?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341514

>>341509
I roll my eyes
"Quite. I'm here to ask you a question. The Stonebriar affair has left me depleted on followers. Both Rosemary and I… passed away for a time unfortunately. You are knowledgeable on the ponies on these ships, so I was wondering if you could push forward any promising candidates."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341515

>>341510
Oh.
Maybe he won't mind if I wait a bit longer on that then…
>>341513
"A brain of a dragon? How'd he talk to you then?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341516

>>341515
Look at her strange.
"You asked me to talk with a corpse just the other day!"

Wf+6 341517

>>341513
Spring seems a little bothered by all the talk of chatting with dead dragon brains.

>>341514
"Yes, I had assumed you'd come to me eventually for this, but that doesn't mean we have to skip the formalities. Shouldn't I ask, 'Why should I help you?', or something to that effect?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341518

>>341517
"You know, it's nothing strange. Just a brain in a jar. And he's friendly, if a bit short on temper with those who don't catch his riddles at first glance."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341519

>>341516
"But that's different than a brain! A brain isn't a body!"

Tony [Trickster] 341520

>>341512
Take another small bite.
"To me it feels like I'm contantly walking through a very slow earthquake. It's very weird." I shrug "But it's no biggie. How is being a pirate working out for you?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341521

>>341517
"See it as an investment of favors. A completely risk-free investment, even."

Wf+6 341522

>>341518
"It's not natural to be so passe about life and death."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341524

>>341522
Smirk at her and give her a 'Look who's talking' expression, but say nothing. There's a filly here.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341526

>>341519
"A brain is what matters. A good necromancer can talk even with the black clood of his fellows!"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341527

>>341520
"Oh I don't call myself a pirate. I just work for them. I'm still a mercenary."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341529

>>341526
"Black clood? What's that?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 341530

>>341529
Meant blood. As in, a layman's definition for ichor. Sorry.

Wf+6 341531

>>341521
"Not totally cost free, though."

[Pause]

Tony [Trickster] 341532

>>341527
"Smart. Ya don't want to get too comfortable in one place, do ya."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341536

>>341532
"Exactly. I've been wandering around for a good while now, taking the best paying jobs, whether that meant protecting or killing."

Tony [Trickster] 341543

>>341536
"Sounds like a mighty fine line of work to me. Did you see a lot of the islands around here? I've been mostly stuck in Stonebriar ever since I got there."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341544

>>341543
"Told ya', I haven't been long with these guys. First time for me on the sea on these ships, I got contracted in Stonebriar too. I don't know shit about geography and stuff like that."

Tony [Trickster] 341549

>>341544
"Huh, funny I've never seen ya around then. It was a really shitty place though." I laugh
"I'm glad it got burned to ground."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341554

>>341549
"I was just looking for work here, but fucking Tartarus, am I glad too. Three buildings collapsed me during one afternoon! Three!"

Tony [Trickster] 341561

>>341554
"You're shitting me. I always told me mates all those houses looked like they were going to collapse any minute. And that was before they were on fire."

I take a small pint "You want one too?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341562

>>341561
I hesitate for a bit, but then now.
"Ah, why not."
Take one too.
"If it wasn't for Light Heart I might have been stuck in one of those houses too. And then that Rhett and all those fags cheering on him! That shit gave me a nightmare!"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341564

>>341562
but then nod*

Tony [Trickster] 341567

>>341562
I shake my head. "I still can't believe what happened there.
When the whole carriage went topsy-turvy and we were all laying there like like a fucking heartwarmings eve present, I thought I was toast.
And then all those freaking cannonballs came out of nowhere."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341570

>>341567
"If it wasn't for all that money… and that was just the frosting on the crapcake, that Golem! That fucking Golem!"

I slam my hoof on the table.

Tony [Trickster] 341578

>>341570
"You know what your mate told me, the gray pegasus?
He told me I had to go inside the bank to disable a few alarm systems.
So I thought no trouble, I'll just get inside, sneak past the guards and turn of those alarms.
I go in to where you guys are and there's a fuckhuge Golem smashing the shit out of everything.
I was like that's not just a few alarm systems"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341581

>>341578
"I know! Go ahead in the vault they said, the golems are deactivated they said! Nopony will die they said! At least we all got back, and that's what matters."

Tony [Trickster] 341584

>>341581
Pause around here?

"Damn right mate."
I raise my pint.
"Fuck Stonebriar.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341587

>>341584
'Kay

Raise mine as well.
"Damn right! Fuck Stonebriar!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341627

MEANWHILE
SOMEWHERE
SOMETIME
"Miss Emrille, good morning."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341629

>>341627
"Yeah, well, morning to you too. Can't say it's been good to me so far."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341631

>>341629
"Indeed. I did die after all. I'm pleased to see you made it out in one piece though. Rosemary told me everything that happened. It sounded quite dreadful, although I'm not quite sure how much of it was exaggerated."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341633

>>341631
"Which part do you mean? The almost blown to bits by our own cannons or the faggot Pirate hunter cheered on by everyone marching a damn army right next to us?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341636

>>341633
I chuckle
"Well, look at it from the bright side. You did not have to experience slowly choking to death on your own blood in the most excruciatingly painful way possible. That's always a positive, no?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341639

>>341636
"I guess. You did have your beauty sleep while we were shivering in those carts! For a second I thought Rhett will smell us out, he was like a tracker hound! He stopped that whole crowd! He gave me nightmares, and all you did way lie around until you cozily woke up here! I'd even say you got away easily. Especially if we got discovered…"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341640

>>341639
I rise my head slightly
"None of which would have happened if I hadn't had to face an angry crowd on my own while the rest of the group were gawking outside. You did not get as much as a scratch, so do not belittle me like that miss Emrille. I can assure you that dying was not a pleasant experience in the least. Nor was coming back to life."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341643

>>341640
I chuckle.
"Relax, I didn't say it didn't suck. It must have…"
My smile disappears and I sigh instead.
"I can believe you wouldn't really like anyone who caused you to die."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341644

>>341643
"At the end of the day, all of us are still alive. And we got a lot done in the process. We'll be getting more than enough doubloons in return for this. Which reminds me, I ought to thank little Summer for trying to save my life. And making sure my body could be retrieved once I… passed away."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341647

>>341644
"Yeah. She really did a good job…. and what was my thanks? Letting her mother die."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341652

>>341647
"The harsh reality is that ponies just die sometimes. And while I much prefer to avoid such situations, it can still happen. Miss Rosemary was quite shaken by both my own death and hers, but I believe she'll cope given some support. How did miss Spring react? I never had quite the time to check up on her during all the chaos."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341656

>>341652
"She didn't enjoy it. A bit.. but she is a good pony. She knows I spent my own wealth to bring her back, I apologized, and she would forgive me, but her daughter."
I hang my head and lean against the nearest wall.
"I don't think I'll get on good terms with her anytime soon."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341660

>>341656
"Summer is young. Bright, but young. She should not be very hard to manipulate into approving of you again."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341662

>>341660
"I tried to bring them some actual food as a… you know, apology gift or whatnot, but I think she'll need more than that."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341666

>>341662
"You'll need to do better than that."
I pause, contemplating for a moment
"Make her believe she needs you. One way or the other, you will have to turn her into a adoring fan of yours."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341669

>>341666
I let out a short snort.
"Hey, I caused your mother to die! Feel free to praise me now! I can't see this plan failing."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341674

>>341669
"Like I said, easily manipulable. While it's true that she died back in Stonebriar, you are the one who brought her back as well. The sheer amount of stress must have her little mind working on overdrive. Give her a moment of pause to calm down, then move in again. Without you, they are all alone here. They need you, and you need to make them realize that."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341676

>>341674
"The kid thinks she has other friends too, like that dog or Felfire. I don't think they rely too much on me."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341677

>>341676
"Then make sure they are vilified. Simple elimination of competition. I could help with that too. Just a few well-placed lies, a bribe or two and… poof!"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341679

>>341677
"Yeah, but as good as that sounds, it's a pretty asshole thing to do. And Spring wants me to be not-an-asshole. That's her only criteria, y'know. So anything without fucking the others over maybe?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341683

>>341679
"Miss Spring does not need to know about this. And if worst comes to worst, I could take the blame. Besides, I'm sure miss Felfire would be quite easy to persuade into laying off on the filly. The dog is dense enough to have his own gravity well, so he should not be a big issue either. If you wish to play nice, you could try and be a hero. Risk your skin to keep them save the next time they get into a tricky situation. Try to improve their lives as much as you can in any way you can. Make it look like you are their biggest ally. Of course, this will take more time and cost you more in the end."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341684

>>341683
"I already did that, I brought her back from the dead on my own money, I gave them food, and I do plan to genuinly keep them safer than before. As for Felfire, I think she has plans with Summer. She was asking around her just this morning."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341687

>>341684
"Then try harder. Secretly create dangerous situations yourself to help them in if need be. Or get rid of the collar the filly is wearing. Make Spring happy, and Summer follow."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341692

>>341687
"That was the plan so far. At least a mare is reasonable, unlike a young filly."
I sigh again.
"Shit, this won't be easy. I'll need a plan, but I need to at least make Summer not dislike me as soon as possible. Getting in her favor can come later."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341700

>>341692
"A tall order. Perhaps I could aid in changing her views. I don't believe she has a dislike for me at least."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341702

>>341700
"Wouldn't that be too obvious though? If not for her, then for Spring."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341703

>>341702
"Would that be necessarily a bad thing? I'm certain miss Spring knows you care about her at least."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341704

>>341703
"I know, but I told you, methods! And who knows if she considers this good or not! I don't want to take any chances and ruin everything, y'know? Not that I don't appreciate your help."

Light Heart [Warlord] 341705

>>341704
"I'm not going to threaten little Summer, miss Emrille. I will just talk to her and try to give you a second chance. I'm sure this wouldn't upset miss Spring if she isn't upset at you already."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341706

>>341705
"Okay… but try to approach subtly. Sloooooowly sheperd the topic to why she's still upset even though I brought her mother back and stuff!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 341707

>>341706
"Miss Emrille please, I've been dealing with ponies for years now. I'm quite aware of how to approach situations like these. I only hope she does not distrust me as well, that would complicate things greatly."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341708

>>341707
"I'm sure you've got a honeyed tongue if you can get ponies do what you want to do like you did in that bank."

I'm going to sleep now, we can continue later

Light Heart [Warlord] 341709

>>341708
I frown
"I did the best I could given the situation. It is hard to keep control over a crowd of that size. Not to mention we were poorly informed of our task as well. If I had been given time to prepare, things would have gone much differently."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341710

>>341709
"It was a freaking disaster, no doubt about that. Still, you did a lot to salvage what you can."

Wf+6 341711

You stand on the bow of the ship, trying to see what awaits you. You strain yourself a little, and you fall off.

You're now plummeting toward the waves below. You sure hope someone saw you fall.

>>341714
He grins at you. "Miss Heart, you're still undecided as to where you're ultimately to be assigned, aren't you? You DID sleep on this ship last night. I wouldn't want you running off with any sailors from my command and taking them under the command of another, especially if I think they're doing an outstanding job."

>>341715
>>341716
Most of them seem to stand out in one way or another. They seem to hail from a thousand different backgrounds, each totally alien to your senses. Few of them are genuinely Equestrian. Such is the life of pirates.

If only your mother had spent a little time teaching you how to swim. Alas, you sink.

>>341719
None of them aboard this particular ship. All of them on this ship seem to be warriors. Maybe if you tried the older looking ship, or the ship that looks like it is made out of shadows. Well, not literally shadows: it's all finished in mahogany, ebony, and dark lead. It's pretty darn black.

Your honed senses serve you well. You DID hear a scream.

>>341720
"I've preemptively received his approval to sign you, not that I need it. I am the first mate."

I gesture towards the waves.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341728

>>341725
"Mmhm?"
I wait patiently

Wf+6 341729

>>341727
The deckhand just shrugs, but points up to the Crow's Nest. An odd silhouette is waving at you from above and pointing into the sea at a certain point in the water…

>>341726
You put in a great effort, but your little legs aren't enough to propel you. Just when you think you've met your end, you feel yourself engulfed by what feels like a million leather straps. The water around you flows out, mysteriously around you, and you find yourself sopping wet and tangled, but breathing what is unmistakably air. Odd. There's a terrible stench around you, but at least you're alive.

>>341728
What he hands you doesn't seem to qualify much as a list. In fact, it has only one name on it.

Mocking Wark - Donkey

He raises a brow. "You asked for the best. Did you want me to racially profile? Or are you just not up to the challenge…?"

I fly up to the figure that was waving at me and point down at the big thing.
"What?"

Wf+6 341739

>>341737
"What information are you looking for, exactly? He's aboard this ship."

>>341738
He's a pegasus with a missing wing, spyglass in one hand. "That's where the filly sank. What are you doing? Dig her out or Tallow will have our skins!"

>>341736
Nope. You're still pretty engaged.

You can feel something is slowly working you free, though. It has the straps loose of one of your legs, now. It's working on the second.

Light Heart [Warlord] 341740

>>341739
"I was hoping you'd tell me what makes him so good. I suppose I will find out myself instead. Thank you mister Smitts."
Take my leave and start combing out the area for this ass

>>341742
Your flailing is ineffectual, but whatever is at work has freed another leg.

>>341740
Hearsay leads you to believe he's on the gunning deck. It seemingly proves reliable as you spot a large donkey washing out a cannon, wearing a heavy helmet and an assortment of tartan clothes. On his back, there's a large, round buckler.

You splash about on the surface, but eventually work your way free. You don't need to roll for all actions, particularly out of combat.

>>341744
You work your way out of the whips in time to see a large, imposing pale figure. It presses a hoof against your forehead and you lose consciousness…

About a minute later, something huge seems to surface briefly on the opposite side of the ship. Summer Seas is catapulted into the air, and, after a few cartwheels, lands on top of Spring Water, who immediately pulls her into a thankful hug and shakes her awake.

"Summer, what happened? Where'd you go?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341747

>>341746
If I see the huge thing surface and throw her back onto the ship then I climb up and retrieve my things from the crow's nest. If I don't then I paddle over to where I saw her in the water.

Wf+6 341748

>>341747
You can't see it, it was on the other side of the ship.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341749

>>341748
Then I paddle on over to where she was.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341750

>>341746
I immediately hug her back.
"Momma! I- I fell off the ship a- and… I couldn't swim back up! I- I nearly… b- but then something grabbed me and all the water was sucked out and I was in a bunch of weird… things and I finally got to look at him and then I went unconscious and now here I am…"
I take a few deep breaths, shivering still from the near death experience.
"I- It was so scary…"

Wf+6 341751

>>341749
You're there. Whatever you spotted is long gone.

>>341750
She gives you a great big hug. "It doesn't matter now. It just matters that you're safe. I'm not letting you out of my sight from now on. These boats are dangerous."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341752

>>341751
I flap my way back up to the crow's nest and get my stuff.
"Gone."

Wf+6 341753

>>341752
He gives you a toothy grin. "Not for ever, so it seems."

He indicates the sopping wet filly on the deck.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341754

>>341753
I check my stuff, and if it's all there I fly down to have a look at her. Is she the same on that I brought to the boat?

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341755

>>341751
I nod and shiver again.
"I- I don't wanna di-…"

Wf+6 341756

>>341755
She hugs you even more tightly.

"You won't. I promise. Not until you're older than Celestia, okay? So don't try anything."

She gives you a faux-suspicious look and pokes you in the belly.

Wf+6 341757

>>341754
Nope. It's some other little filly. This one is a unicorn.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341758

>>341757
Do they look at all like the pirates?

Wf+6 341759

>>341758
Not at all.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341760

>>341756
I hug her tight as well, and let out a slight giggle when she pokes me in the belly.
"Okay… I'm glad your here, momma."
I lean up and nuzzle her.
Do I see Landgrave anywhere?

I poke the bigger one.
"Slaves?"

Wf+6 341762

Not anywhere. He must be in his cabin. He doesn't seem to like to mingle with the 'common' pirates much.

Wf+6 341763

>>341761
She seems a little put off by that. "No! We're… doctors."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341764

>>341761
"Ah!"
I duck underneath Spring, barely peeking out.
"Wh- who are you?"
>>341762
Ah, hmm.
Hopefully he won't get mad at me if I just stay away a biiit longer…

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341765

>>341763
I tilt my head.
"Doc-tor?"

>>341764
"Seekkill."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341766

>>341765
"A- Are you part… bird, mister Seekkill?"

Wf+6 341767

>>341765
She seems a bit perplexed, and speaks in long, drawn out words. "MEDICINE PONIES."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341768

>>341766
I tap my chest.
"Gryphon. No bird."

>>341767
I draw my work out too.
"Mehhhhh-diiiiii-siiiin?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341769

"W- We heal ponies… like from their injuries and things."
I peek out a bit more.
"You're a gryphon, mister?"

Wf+6 341770

She sighs. "Healers."

You're still wounded b t doubs.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341771

"Medy-sin. Heal. Yes, gryphon."

>>341770
I show her my wounds.

>>341773
I look back and forth between her and my closed wounds a few time before whistling.
"Powerful. Talk spirits?"

Wf+6 341775

>>341774
She gives you an odd look. "No… we don't talk to dead ponies. You're probably looking for her."

She points at Felfire, who is wandering off to another boat. The pegasus in question has shiny copper wings that are probably nonfunctional. She's not wearing anything, save for a necklace with a cyan fluid in it. Her cutie mark is a golden ring.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341776

>>341773
I smile under her ruffling.
>>341774
"Talk spirits? Huh?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341777

>>341775
>>341776
I make a disappointed noise then shake the water off my body and follow the pony with the metal wings.

Wf+6 341778

>>341777
You track Felfire back to the Pillager's Fancy. She disappeared into the forecastle.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341779

>>341778
I follow her in.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341780

>>341777
I give him a confused look as he flies off.
"…what a weird pon- gryphon."
I tug on Spring's leg.
"Um, momma? Do you think the pirates will get mad at us if I don't start studying soon?"

Wf+6 341781

>>341780
She gives a surprised look. "Oh, I suppose I've been a bad shepherd, especially considering I'm the one that you were studying for the benefit of. Why don't we go look for your teacher?"

>>341779
She must have disappeared into one of the siderooms. You have walked into some kind of clinic. There's a unicorn here, cleaning, and a fellow griffon following him about.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341782

>>341781
I look around.
"Metal wings?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341783

>>341781
"Do you think if I study really hard they'll take the collar off?"
I get up and absent mindedly hoof the collar.

Wf+6 341784

>>341783
She doesn't sound very confident. "That would be nice…"

>>341782
The griffon indicates a side room. "She's busy at the altar. What brings you in?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341785

>>341784
I frown, but start walking towards where I remember my teacher being.
Do I need to roll to find it?

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341786

>>341784
"Spirits."

Wf+6 341787

>>341785
Nope.

You and Spring walk to Landgrave's room, the officer's quarters adorned with a golden handle. You knock, and he answers.

"Ah, yes, the young charge and mother. No doubt here for your study materials. Good. We'll be having your first test tonight. Get to it."

He drops three large tomes in front of you. They're labeled, "Grammar", "Logic", and "Rhetoric".

"Read the first hundred pages of each. We'll see how well you retain them."

>>341786
The Griffon nods again. "I'm afraid she has occupied the altar for now."

You can feel this room is thick with spirits, blood, and bone. The doctor may be scrubbing the room, but he can't get the blood out of the wood: it is soaked in. This room smells of life and death.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341788

>>341787
"U- Um… how long do I have to study for?"

341789

>>341787

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341790

>>341789
I collect them.
"Powerful. Bloody death. Bloody wood. Bone spirits blood spirits dead spirits."
I point at the scrubbing pony. He is different from the other doctors, right? More piratelike?
"Doctor? Different."

Wf+6 341791

>>341788
"There is no minimum. Read what you need to pass the test. It will be tonight. Is that all, or do you have further questions?"

>>341790
Much more like the other pirates. He seems very strange. Something off about him.

He replies with an off-kilter expression. "Different doctor!"

The Griffon elaborates. "Doc Peg is the crew's resident medical expert, but he's also a devout of Grogar. He's an expert on the physical side of necromancy, but he knows how to tap into the spiritual, too. Good you've happened by if that's what you're after."

Doc Peg gives a modest grin in response. "Expert of necromancy? The crew's tapped out."

[Unpause]

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341861

>>341860
Well, a bit of time has passed since morning-morning.
Maybe Abilio is back in his cabin now.
Visit him.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341862

>>341791
"No…"
I gulp and stare at the intimidating tomes.
And I guess I start dragging them back to our little cell to start studying.
'1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

Wf+6 341863

>>341862
The mechanics for studying work differently than other rolls. For one, you just declare a study roll and I make a hidden roll with a D20. Studying takes 300 turns (30 minutes). You have a test at 6PM. The current time is 11AM. You can't interact with other players during a period in which you should be studying. (e.g.: If you study 14 times, you can't do anything else at all until all other players are ready for evening).

Your best hidden roll is kept as your study score. This will be combined with rolls you make to actually perform on the test. While you never see your study rolls, you can make recall rolls at any time (in which you yourself roll a D10) to try to approximate how well you studied. These recall rolls only cost 10 minutes.

>>341861
You knock on his door and he grudgingly invites you in. You find him sipping some sort of black liquid while poring over a heavy Tartarian book.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341864

>>341863
"Hi!~ What's up? Got any better? Had a fun time yesterday? Have a bit of time to chat with a pretty mare?"

Wf+6 341865

>>341864
He broods over his hot drink. "Yes. I had a lovely evening. She didn't leave until somepony knocked on the door."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341866

>>341865
"Mhhm, how unfortunate! I'm sure that somepony had a few questions of utmost importance, or something along those lines."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341868

>>341863
That roll was to drag the books back to my cell, not study.
I stare at the tomes.
"…Do I have to start studying now, momma?"

Wf+6 341869

>>341866
"It better be the case, or I'll have you flayed."

>>341868
She frowns a little. "Well I'd much rather you study than spend your time around those pirates, wouldn't you? But…"

She picks you up and sets you down on the warm, fuzzy teddy ursa doll you got back in Stonebriar.

"You've been through a lot lately, so if you need to relax, I understand. Just promise me you'll study a little bit before the test, okay?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341873

>>341869
"You're in luck, I have all sorts of important things to ask! First and foremost, since you're the boss and everything, you know, you're the brain, you could tell me where I can pick up my share of the sweet money we made?"

Wf+6 341877

>>341873
He returns to his reading. "You bothered me for that? Anyone else in the crew could have directed you to Blue Topaz on the Darklantern."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341878

>>341869
"I will momma, I will!"
I settle down on the teddy ursa and sigh, but then perk my head up.
"…Momma, since I helped the pirates, does that mean I get paid too?"

Wf+6 341879

>>341878
She shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe… I still haven't quite figured out whether they view us as shipmates, slaves, prisoners… It's an odd relationship."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341881

>>341879
"Can we go ask?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341882

>>341877
"That was just routine, I am a businessmare after all, gotta' keep tabs and all that. Now that business is over, you did mention some sort of magic-y thingies, didn't you?"

Step a bit closer and grin at him.

Wf+6 341883

>>341881
"If you'd like…I think I spotted their treasury on this ship when we were exploring. It's in the hold."

Wf+6 341886

>>341882
"I've heard more reverence for arcane secrets and dangerous knowledge out of school ponies."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341888

>>341883
I hop off the teddy ursa and start heading towards the treasury.
"Do you think that they'll give us a lot of gold?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341890

>>341886
Nod my head slightly and at least slow down with the pace of my speech.
"I'm terribly sorry, I can try and be a polite little schoolfilly if that's what it takes to learn the powerful magic you hold!"

Do a little curtsey.

Wf+6 341913

>>341888
She chuckles gently. "I don't know if they'll give us anything at all."

You head down into the hold and find a silver-handled door there.

>>341890
"I've half a mind to turn you into one literally if you don't behave yourself. Now what is it you want to learn in particular?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341914

>>341913
I knock on the door!
"Hello?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341917

>>341913
I chuckle.
"Take it easy, just having a bit of fun! As for the learning things, as you know, I can enchance my bullets with my meager little magic. A bit of cold here, a few flames there, and the bullets bite much more, but maybe there could be even more than that?"

Wf+6 341924

>>341914
He gives you a look of surprise. "Just two of the classical elements? You do have some room to grow… I could teach you about the air… perhaps that would suit a winged pony like yourself?"

>>341914
You hear an oddly accented voice welcome you in. Entering the room, you see a veritable treasure trove of gold, gems, paintings, vases, and other valuables.

An old mare sits behind a desk, writing something at length. Her paper is spilling over the desk at both ends. Without looking up from writing, she uses her free hoof to push something toward you.

"Hazard pay. Anything else?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341929

>>341924
"Magic was just to enchance my marksmareship."
Perk up and flap my wings.
"And I'm all ears! How would that work? What do you have in mind?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341931

>>341791
"Spirits-ual nek-ro-mansee?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341933

>>341924
"Hazard pay?"
I tilt my head at her.
"I'm here to ask if me and my momma get anything for helping with the, uh… thing at the bank?"

Wf+6 341940

>>341933
She gives you a bored nod. "Ergo, you are here for hazard pay. Enjoy your loot. Remember, crime pays, et cetera."

Spring frowns at that last remark.

Wf+6 341941

>>341929
He shrugs. "Well, if you don't think magic is that important, I would gladly direct you to a marksman trainer. Ruxiang is quite skilled, for instance."

>>341931
Dolly gives you a happy nod. "The Doctor knows a lot about the Veil. He has a genuine shrine to Grogar, and sometimes Grogar even talks back!"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341942

>>341940
"Oh. Okay."
I take the hazard pay. How much is it?

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341944

>>341941
"Talk spirits?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341946

>>341941
I roll my eyes.
"Leeeeeeeeeeet's not talk about him today, if we can, okay? And I came here to you, and asked you to teach me magic, didn't I? I only said that I didn't have much time to get and know too many elements so far."

Felfirr [Necromancer] 341950

Hey look, a new guy. But first, important stuff. "Doc, do we train today or not?"
>>341944
"You new?"

Wf+6 341952

>>341944
Dolly seems a little put out by your short answers. "Yeah…"

>>341942
Without even answering, she just gestures at a pile. Spring lifts you up so you can count it. There are eight doubloons here. Your savings have quintupled.

>>341946
"Well, the best place to learn about the wind is the sails, I suppose. Follow me to the main deck."

>>341950
He shrugs. "Do we?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341955

>>341950
I poke one of her wings with a claw.
"Metal wings. Spirit talk pony."
I look her up and down.
"Spirit talk pony pirate."

>>341952
I ignore him.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341956

>>341952
"If you have time."
>>341955
"which spirit?"
Cock my head.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341960

>>341952
"Aye-Aye, captain!"
Do a little salute and follow him.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341962

>>341956
"Good spirits bad spirits. All spirits."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341964

>>341962
"Right… Want to see the mirror? You can find all spirits in there."

Wf+6 341966

>>341960
Sarcasm is lost on Abilio, so you're in the clear.

He takes you up to the sails and points a hoof. "I assume you're at least marginally familiar with how the currents of air work, given your background as a flier?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341967

>>341952
My eyes sparkle at the money.
"Ooh, ooh! What should we do with it momma?"

Wf+6 341970

>>341967
She sighs.

"Well, maybe we can put it toward rebuilding the clinic…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341973

>>341966
"Yes, I think I got that. I don't think I could write a book for you on it, but I understand it."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341975

>>341970
I pause as she mentions the clinic.
"…do you think we'll ever go back home, momma?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341978

>>341964
"Mir-ror spirits? New spirits. Yes."

Felfire [Necromancer] 341981

>>341978
"Right. You will have to wait. I need to purchase a fresh body first."

Turn to Dolly.
" You know if any of the prisoners is for sale?"

Wf+6 341986

>>341975
She nuzzles you. "I promise it."

>>341981
She gives you an odd look. "I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that. Maybe you should talk to Jones, though. He has… separate stock you're probably interested in."

>>341973
"Harnessing the wind is no different with magic than it is with a wing, if you understand the underlying principles of direction-based magics like telekinesis. Observe."

Though you can't see it, you can feel the wind gathering near his hoof. You think you see little particles of dust playing about the spot, and it seems distorted somehow. Then with a sudden stab outward, you can hear it as air flows away harmlessly off the side of the ship.

Did you learn anything from that? Roll.

Felfire [Necromancer] 341989

>>341986
"As long as they are fit. Where is he?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 341990

>>341986
Did I?
Wind up my mind!
'1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

Summer Seas [Cleric] 341994

>>341986
"Even with… what Luna wants us to do?"
I nuzzle her back, saddened by the thought of never returning home.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 341996

>>341981
I perk up.
"Fresh body? Pur-chas?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342001

>>341996
"Yeah, for an experiment. So, tell me, why do you want to talk with the spirits?"

Wf+6 342002

>>341989
"Hold of the Seaworthy."

>>341994
"I'm sure whatever Luna has planned doesn't preclude a happy life."

>>341990
He seems satisfied with your progress.

"I want you to try now."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342003

>>342002
"Ooookay… here I go!"
I'm a pegasus with magic, I can do this!
Do the same trick with the wind that he did!
'1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

Felfire [Necromancer] 342004

>>342002
Give her a thankful nod.
"I will be back later."

Turn to Seekkill.
"I'm leaving. Coming?"

Off to the hold of the Seaworthy!

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342005

>>342002
"I hope so…"
I perk my head up.
"Do you think we can visit Mister Doc Peg again? He was nice…"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342006

>>342001
"Already talk. Only spirit talker home. Ponies blind."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342010

>>342006
"You mean, you are a necromancer too? Eh, that's look. I just needed a buddy to study with."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342013

>>342004
"Nek-roman-seer?"

Wf+6 342014

>>342003
You're not a bad student. As long as you don't start boasting like a certain paladin student from the distant past you've never known nor ever will, you'll be a teacher's pet in no time.

To his credit, Abilio doesn't begrudge you for it, nodding appreciatively. "You picked it up quickly. It was a good choice of where to start. It must feel natural to you. Now try manipulating the wind to hit something precise."

He points a hoof at a flag near the top of the main mast. "Make that flag divert course."

Wf+6 342015

>>342005
She nods. "If you like. I wouldn't mind meeting the other Doctor. Even if he's a pirate… Well, he must have some professional dignity."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342016

>>342013
Give him a quizzical look.
"Where are you from, again?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342018

>>342014
"I can do this, come on, I can!"
Aim at the flag, concentrate on it, focus my magic, and POW!
Give it a strong gust!
'1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342022

>>342015
"He's actually kinda nice for a pirate!"
Where was he again?
On another ship, right?
Can I get over there, or is it too early/too late?

Wf+6 342025

>>342022
You can go over there. He's on the Pillager's Fancy.

"We'll see."

>>342018
He nods approvingly. "Now let's see your marksmanship. Shoot the flag with your gun. Don't try any magic."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342026

>>342016
I point towards where the island was.
"Island. Spirits warn Seekkill. Doom hatefire heart. Island burns. Blind ponies burn."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342028

>>342025
This should be easy, right?
I mean, I'm not shooting this gun randomly, right?
'1d10', Marksman shot the flag.

Roll #1 3 = 3

Felfire [Necromancer] 342033

>>342026
"Can't say I'm sorry for them. Who's this spirit that warned you anyway?"
>>342025
Find the guy on the Seaworthy. The dude with his private stash.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342035

>>342025
I go to where…
How do we get to the other ships anyways? Small boats that travel to and from them?
Whatever it may be, I go to the Pillager's Fancy and look for Doc Peg.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342041

>>342033
"No. Seekkill talks spirits. Spirits talk Seekkill. Spirits talk metal wings?"

Wf+6 342042

>>342028
Nope. Maybe you underestimated your magic side.

He gives you a look that says, Are you taking this seriously?

>>342035
We're not paying too close attention to how they're running perfectly alongside each other with gangplanks running in between. But they ARE.

You go into the clinic. It's busy! Dolly, Doc Peg, Felfire, and Seekkill are here.

>>342033
Felfire and Seekkill don't stay long, though, they head off for the hold of the Seaworthy. Unlike the other two holds, you can't enter this one at all without a key: there's just a big door on this floor, with staircases up and down. You could try knocking.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342044

>>342041
"More like I call them."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342046

>>342035
"Yo kid."
Give her a smile but go on my way.
>>342042
Knock knock.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342048

>>342042
"I'm just excited about this whole new magic thingy, okay?"

Shoot it for real now!
'1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342050

>>342044
"Show?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342052

>>342042
I pause as I see Seekkill and Felfire, cautiously waving to them.
"Hi mister Doc Peg… and miss Feelfear and mister… Sehkeal?"

Wf+6 342053

>>342048
"Are you certain you're not strictly a spellcaster, Emrille?"

>>342046
The faceplate opens and you see a brown, male unicorn inside. "Yeah? Whaddya want? Bear claws? I told Tough Guy we're out."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342056

>>342053
"I'm pretty sure, yes… You're stressing me out, okay, pressure and all that! I swear I can shoot!"

'1d10'
Gah!

Roll #1 4 = 4

Felfire [Necromancer] 342064

>>342050
"I told you. Later. Need a corpse first."
>>342053
"I need a corpse. As fresh and fit as possible. They told me you might have one."

Wf+6 342066

>>342056
He sighs. "Well, this is what Wind magic is supposed to correct, anyway. Maybe it will help. This time, try to shoot, then guide it with the flow of the wind. If your response time isn't fast enough to keep up with the bullet, just create a stream of air to help direct it."

Add +1 to your next roll.

>>342064
He nods. "Let me check my stock."

He closes the faceplate and you wait a few minutes. Then it re-opens. "Yeah, I've got one. She's a cutie. Earth pony okay?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342068

>>342066
"I need a stallion here."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342069

>>342066
I nod.
"Right, that makes sense."

Use the help of the wind to aid my aim!
'1d10+1'

Roll #1 6 + 1 = 7

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342072

>>342066
"Uh, mister Doc Peg, are you busy?"
I slowly walk into his room.

342075

>>342066

Roll #1 8 = 8

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342076

>>342068
"No want"

>>342066
>>342075
"Earth pony good."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342077

>>342076
>"No want?"

Wf+6 342078

>>342068
He sighs. "YOU DIDN'T SAY THAT. Let me check!"

He disappears again. After another moment he reappears. "You're lucky. One from this morning kicked it. I need to clean it up a little first…"

>>342072
He gives you a big grin. "Doc? Busy? You!" He puts emphasis on the 'you' like 'aw, you'.

>>342069
He gives a satisfied nod as you put a hole in the flag. "Well. I suppose now you see the utility of the wind."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342080

>>342078
"Can I see it?"
>>342076
"You need a body too?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342082

>>342078
"More precise shots! Great! Ooh, and, wait, does this mean I can curve shots too? Like, fire at corners and shit like that?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342084

>>342078
I smile back at him.
"Have you met my momma, mister Doc Peg?"
I slowly pull Spring over to him.

Wf+6 342088

>>342082
He appraises you. "A little ambitious, but it is possible with experience. Perhaps later."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342090

>>342080
I nod.
"Hungry."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342091

>>342088
"Awesome! Thank you so much! I knew you could teach me great things! I'll make sure to practice it!"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342093

>>342090
"You… Eat bodies?"
Raise a brow to him.

Wf+6 342095

>>342080
He dumps it outside. It's a pegasus male, of rather slight build. Kind of emaciated, but not awful.

>>342084
He shakes his head.

She gives an odd attempt at a smile. "A pleasure."

He echoes: "Pleasure!"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342097

>>342093
"Eat meat."
I pause for a few seconds then speak again.
"No eat pirate meat."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342101

>>342095
Hey, pegasus, I like it.
"Looks good. Do I owe you anything?"
>>342097
Roll my eyes at him.
"There is plenty of other meat. Pony meat costs a lot.
Can you help me carry this one?"
Point at the pegasus on the floor.

Wf+6 342102

>>342101
"Two."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342104

>>342102
"Didn't you have to get rid of this anyway? Let's say I'm doing you a favor here.
One."

Wf+6 342105

>>342091
He nods absently. "Yes… I need to return to my accounting, and… Write a letter."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342106

>>342101
"Cost?"
I pick it up and throw it over my back.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342108

>>342095
"She's a doctor, just like me!"
I pause for a moment, then perk up as I come up with an idea.
"Ooh! Do you think you could teach me another lesson, mister Doc Peg? I'm sure my momma would wanna know what you have to teach too!"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342109

>>342106
"Yeah. Things you have to do…
I guess the spirits never ask for anything back, uh?"
Smile at him.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342110

>>342105
I pout.
"Aww, I was hoping for some more magical treats… but that will have to wait then. Something else though, I gotta ask…"
Hop closer to him, next to his side.

Wf+6 342114

>>342104
He shakes his head. "For one, I'd just as soon butcher it and sell it as rations. Most of these sea dogs can't tell the taste."

>>342108
"Teach a lesson? Momma would think me too lesser."

He gives a modest grin as he rubs his mane.

>>342110
He nods absently. "Yes?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342117

>>342114
Lean closer and lower my voice.
"Birds 've been chirping that a certain collar on the neck of a filly is starting to itch the poor little soul. I don't suppose you can do anything about that or point me to somepony who can?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342118

>>342114
"See, I'm sparing you the butchering part."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342121

>>342109
"Spirits want sacrifice. All kinds. Blood bone dirt wood fire hearts."

>>342114
>>342118
"Butcher."
I cackle.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342122

>>342114
"Aww, pleeeease?"
I give him puppy dog eyes.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342125

>>342121
"Well ponies want other kinds of sacrifices. Mostly, money. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342129

>>342125
"More knees?"
I jab the gut of the corpse on my back.
"Need meat?"

Wf+6 342133

>>342117
He gives you a strange look. "That'd be against the will of the Commodore. Bold for a jobber like you. I wouldn't let others catch you speaking of it, but I will forgive it this once, as a reward for a successful lesson."

>>342118
He growls. "I won't do less than one and a half. Take it or leave it."

>>342122
He sighs. "Aww."

The only lesson you can learn right now is Improved Spellcasting, which will take 3 hours. Is that okay?

Felfire [Necromancer] 342136

>>342129
I give him a squint.
"Don't ruin it. I need it whole."
>>342133
"How do you cut a doubloon in a half?"

Wf+6 342137

>>342136
He draws a sword.

"It's common practice. Gold is soft metal, and these are pure gold."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342140

>>342137
"Fine. Just keep the body on hold for me. I have to consult a few ponies first, okay?"

How sexy is this body anyway?
'1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342141

>>342133
Fine by me.
"Is that a yes?"
I excitedly look at him.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342142

>>342133
I frown.
"Crap… but just between the two of us, why is it that important? We are on a ship, in the middle of the sea… not even for the duration of this trip would be plausible?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342147

>>342136
I clack my beak a few times and watch them talk at each other.
Seekkill isn't getting that mare, right?

Wf+6 342151

>>342142
He frowns more than you. Abilio is a champion frowner. "The Commodore wills it. He does not make many declarations with so much weight. It is to be obeyed regardless of reasoning. He never wastes his time on something he views as trivial. Those duties are delegated."

>>342147
Not unless Fel buys it for him.

>>342140
"Done."

>>342141
He nods uncomfortably.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342152

>>342151
"I'll be back."
Motion as Seekkill.
"You coming? I'll show you some talking with the spirits, as soon as I find any."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342154

>>342151
"Thank you mister Doc Peg!"
I give him a quick hug.
"Do you wanna listen too momma?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342155

>>342152
"Coming."
I follow her.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342157

>>342151
Go find Terrebonne. Ask around for her.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342159

>>342151
"I'm going to be ballsy here and ask, who is his delegate?"

Wf+6 342162

>>342159
He gives you a look that says, Are you fucking kidding me?

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342165

>>342162
Give him puppy eyes.
"Please? A talk can't hurt, can it?"

Wf+6 342169

>>342165
"I'm trying to imply to you that his subordinates to whom he delegates are First Mate Landgrave, Captain Umlock, and me."

He seems annoyed.

>>342157
She seems to have returned to her room. She's working on her dolls.

>>342154
She nods slowly. "I wouldn't want to leave you alone anyway. You don't blame me for not trusting you, Mister Peg."

He nods. "Not blamed!"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342170

>>342169
I hang back when I see the moving ball of fluff.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342174

>>342169
"Hey Terre. I have found a newcomer. Gimme a second, I'd like to ask you something."
>>342170
"So, I got the perfect spirit for you."

Move to the jar of Gar and use Seance of it.

"Here, speak away."

'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342175

>>342169
"He really is a nice po- um, pony, momma!"
I sit down and excitedly wait for him to begin the lesson.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342178

>>342169
"Yeah, but as much as I like you, you don't seem pretty… how should I say… you don't show much will to cooperate in possibly helping me achieve this minor favor. Say what, if I can talk with the other two, would you agree with me that it is completely unnecessary to keep a kid in that collar out in the sea where she has nowhere to go, not to mention she wouldn't leave her mother anyway?"

Wf+6 342189

>>342178
You're suddenly finding it very difficult to support the weight of your gun, and your clothes balloon out on all sides of you before changing themselves, wrapping to a more fitting size. You're now looking up at Abilio from a much lower perspective, wearing a schoolfilly outfit.

"There, you petulant little brat. Maybe some time as a 'polite little schoolfilly' will teach you to respect the wishes of your Commodore."

He mocks your earlier statement with, to his credit, only the slightest tinge of bemusement. He picks up your gear that is now too heavy with telekinesis and floats a quill and a page of paper down to you. "Why don't you write me a short essay about why it's important to follow the chain of command? Both sides, please. When you're done, you can be a grownup again."

>>342175
To Spring's disapproval, the lesson begins with a swig of alcohol. After that, Peg can speak freely.

He gets into a lengthy discussion about the reproduction of flesh through cells, the particles that have been known to make up tissue for about two hundred years. Through forcing them to rapidly reproduce, wounds can be closed: this is how healing magic works. However, the same process can be used to guide entire limbs to regenerate. He speaks at length and consults several tomes. He almost mimes the process using his changing ability to mimic a pony with a missing arm, but remembers Spring is in the room.

By the end of the lecture, you're feeling like you've got a lot on your mind. He then wants you to demonstrate.

He pulls out his cleaver and slashes off his own foreleg and smiles at you. "Try."

>>342174
"Yah?"

The jar begins speaking immediately. "Unwaiting my time becomes, noble predator's approach. To seek, a noble pursuit: why then, unsought by so unfew? But for you…"

It begins speaking in a gibberish dead tongue that Felfire can't understand, but has very clear meaning to Seekkill:

"Welcome to the fold, Seekkill. You will find the answers and home you were born for aboard the ships of this fleet. I speak on behalf of the spirits that raised you: you have come to the right place."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342193

>>342189
"Would you look at that…"
Turn to Terrebonne.
"Uh… This might be personal. It's about the spark.
Wanna talk about it or should I drop the subject?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342194

>>342189
"Wha-… Hey! I was just asking! Politely! You didn't have to turn me into a damn kid! Make it back or something or… I… I'll bite your shins!"

Wf+6 342196

>>342193
She glances at Seekkill and the jars. "Thay're occupied. Let's talk quietly."

She approaches to whisper distance.

>>342194
He does his best to look offended, but he's a little amused. "You said you'd be a polite schoolfilly if that's what it took. Write your paper. I was serious."

With that, he retreats to his room with your gear. Time to write a friendship subordination report.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342197

>>342189
My eyes widen after he chops his foreleg off.
"I- I- Mister Doc!"
I hurriedly scramble back to my hooves and begin attempting to mend his severed leg.

Stomp.
"I didn't mean it literally!!!"

Bah!
Find a table or something!

Felfire [Necromancer] 342199

>>342196
"I… Talked with Moonbeam. He's a real prick at times. Told me you made the spark, and I can imagine why. I want to learn it."
Pause for a second.
"That's it, if you are comfortable with it."

Wf+6 342201

>>342197
Looks like you paid attention well. A bone regrows. Time for the skin.

>>342198
No tables here you can reach at this height. You could fly and land on top of one, though, but you might look a little silly.

>>342199
She looks uncomfortable. "The Spark is a shortcut, and Moonbeam is… not malevolent, but he wants ta make life interesting. I will teach it ta ya if ya wish."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342202

>>342189
I bow before the jar and pluck one of the rodent skulls off my staff. I crush it in my claw and sprinkle what is left over my head. If I can I respond in the same language.
"Thanks spirits."

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342204

"Fucking…"
Okay, place the paper on the floor and lean forward to it then I guess to write.
Try to write something that is fitting for Alibio.
'1d10'

Make sure to write a footnote about how I was right though.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342208

"I can understand why you did it. I want it for the same reason.
Just tell me.
Did you ever regret it?"

Wf+6 342210

>>342202
You can. It's the language that the majority of the temple script is in.

>>342204
You're on the decks! You could go talk to some of the magey NPCs or go chat with PCs. Your fellow mage-aligned character is currently having some difficulties on the Pillager's Fancy. You could help Emrille out of her bind.

>>342206
You manage to dissolve the bone with that, and he cringes.

"Ah! Careful, Summer! I trust you, start over."

>>342207
You can't even figure out what to write. Maybe you DO have a problem with authority.

>>342208
She sighs. "There's a reason I only use shadows now. When I was young like you, I was reckless, but with time, I grew ta respect da dead. As I should have, I suppose. I see a young Terrebonne in you."

Is the Pillager's Fancy easy to get to from here?

Wf+6 342217

>>342212
You manage to regrow the arm all at once in a fluid growth.

He gives you a gentle smile and pats you on the back. "I knew you could do it!"

Spring seems impressed and cheerful for you, but she forcibly removes Doc's hoof from your back. "Thank you for the lesson, Mr… I'm sorry, I'm not calling you Mister Peg."

She pauses. "Thank you for your lesson, Mister Doctor. But don't get attached to my daughter. We're still not here at will."

Doc Peg seems a little melancholy but nods.

>>342214
You manage to get an introduction paragraph before you hit a roadblock. You need to write passionately! Or at least fake it.

Wf+6 342218

>>342216
You're on it! Emrille is on the main deck.

She sighs. "Moonbeam probably won't ruin your life… but he wants to see a show. Maybe it's too selfish to not let you make my mistakes. I suppose if you ruin your life, I can teach you about shadows or Abilio about Tartarians."

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342221

>>342218
Right then, go see her!

Where is she, and who is around her?

Wf+6 342222

>>342219
At this rate, you're going to be the qt filly in a school dress for a long time.

>>342221
She's up on the deck all alone, and much smaller than you remember her. Looks like she angered a magician.

She seems to be attempting to write an essay about authority. You'll have to wait for Nopo to show back up to roleplay with you directly.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342224

>>342220
Wince.
"It's just… How can the dead ruin me? I just… Earing about them, speaking with them… It seems the most beautiful thing."

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342225

>>342222
Isn't he right here posting with us?

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342229

>>342217
I smile from his praise, but softly frown when Spring starts berating him.
"…well, thank you anyways for the lesson mister Doc Peg!"
I give him a hug.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342230

>>342222
>>342225
He went off to run an errand.

Wf+6 342231

>>342225
He just told me in Steam he has to step out for just a moment. He'll be back soon.

>>342224
She gives you a gentle smile.

"Ya are different than me… but in time, I grew ta detest what I was. Da Spark binds souls ta da corpses. It's like cammanding da unwilling, naught merely puppets. Now I use shadow constructs. Felfire, as much as I believe in my work with da veil, I do naught believe in stealing freedom. Even my labors in da voodoo are dignified: da truly determined can resist da pain. Dere is no resisting a necromancer's cammand. I am haunted by the deeds I have made da souls of fillies and colts carry out."

>>342229
He tries to return it but Spring pushes you two apart.

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342233

>>342231
How unfortunate. I will have to return later.

Let's find a mage on the ship like myself.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342234

>>342231
Stand silent for a while.
"I… All my life, I just… I didn't care."
Sit down.
"You should teach me about shadows."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342235

>>342231
I frown again when Spring pulls us apart.
"Aww… but mister Doc Peg is nice momma!"
I pout.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342237

>>342233
I'm here!

Wf+6 342238

>>342235
She shakes her head. "He's still a pirate. I thought you had taken to disliking them recently."

>>342234
She seems a little impressed. "I don't know if ya're ready fer learning ta use tham, but I can teach ya about tham. Manipulation of shadows is da opposite end of da spectrum of most forms of necramantic cammand. Ya make friends on da odda side, and dey help ya by manipyalating da shadows with yar help."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342239

>>342238
In the meantime, a bit more essay.
Okay, try to be actually a bit apologetic.
But just a bit.
And I'm still right.

Sit down and listen.
"I should take notes.."

Wf+6 342242

>>342239
It's not even a little convincing. In fact, its so comically anti-authoritarian that you're having trouble taking yourself seriously.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342243

>>342238
"Only the mean ones… mister Doc Peg isn't mean! He wouldn't… he wouldn't have let something like that happen… right mister Doc Peg?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342244

>>342246
"Nice to meet you, Foldy? Can I call you Foldy?"
I chuckle.
"And yeah, I am Emrille, in all my fillyhood glory."
I sigh and fake a pout.
"That big old meanie Abilio turned me into one for disrespecting him and now I have to do my homework! Could a clever stallion like you help a mini-mare in trouble?"

Wf+6 342248

>>342241
She nods and lets the shadows flutter around the two of you.

"Friends will never turn on you, ya know. That's a perk in itself, sometimes. Sometimes ya can't afford da risks of Tartarians or even enslaved undead."

>>342243
He looks uncomfortable. "I don't actually know what I would have not let happen?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342249

>>342248
Try to touch the shadow.
"Ah. So, how do you call for the spirits then?"

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342250

>>342247
"I don't mind. A deviation from the norm adds some sense of kinship. As odd as it may sound, I feel I may be able to form some camaraderie with you. It is usually easy to see when people are faking their emotions, but your pout is a bit more difficult to define, though I can still tell. Now, what is your issue with that magician?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342251

>>342248
I cast a worried look his way, my panic slightly rising.
"U- Um… m- my… my momma came with the pirates to help the bank thing, a- and… and… she d-… di-…"
I start tearing up.
"… sh- she died."
I cast a very panicked, very worried look through tearful eyes towards him.
"B- But if you were there… y- you wouldn't have let that happen! R- Right?…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342252

>>342250
"I could call you Foldy Bordy Skewy too if you're not into the whole brevity thing."
Then I poke at the paper at my hooves.
"As to that magician, all was good, he helped me learn some fancy new spells and everything! Then I asked a few wrong questions, and Poof! Here I am, writing an essay for authority for him if I ever hope to be a grown-up agian."

Wf+6 342253

>>342249
It feels… oddly solid.

"It's like communing… but with an old friend."

She smiles. "Here, in the dark, I am with a lifetime of friends dat have decided dey'd like ta stay by my side, even on da other side of da veil."

>>342251
He smiles gently. "I would have done what's in my power, but I don't claim to be a great…"

He pauses. "pony… in terms of skill."

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342254

>>342252
"Fancy spells? I am intrigued. I would, however, first like to know more about his… character. What did he ask you to write, exactly? His criteria?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342255

>>342253
"So many?"
Look around, try to count the shadows.
[1d10]
"I guess I'll have to make friends with them, before comm- Fervor!"
Look hastily towards the mirror.

I softly smile.
"See?… H- He isn't a bad pony!"

Wf+6 342257

>>342255
In a room mostly shrouded in black, it's hard to tell just how many there are. Maybe the darkness itself is a collective of shadows? It does seem very dark, for a room with a candle in it, even if there is only one.

The mirror remains a mirror. No commune cast on it.

>>342256
She sighs. "Well… It's easy to say things, and another to prove them."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342258

>>342254
"He couldn't take a joke to save his life. It's like, someone took 'fun', 'chill', 'take it easy' and stuff like that, and completely erased them from his mental dictionary. He's not an asshole though, not in the least, he's a pretty good guy once you get to know him. Except when you say things he doesn't like. As for his criteria…"
Clear my throat then shake myself slightly, faking a higher tone.
"Be a nice polite little schoolfilly and write an essay on the importance of chain of command~"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342259

>>342257
"Terre, what if… What if I tried to call on Fervor, and bind him to a shadow?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342260

>>342257
I look down and frown.
"But he is a good pony…"

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342261

>>342258
"The.. chain of command? To put emphasis on such a thing seems.. unnecessary. I got through most of my childhood, from what I could remember, breaking as much 'orderliness' as I pleased, because they never felt at all, well, real. Fortunately, I was never caught, mainly because no one suspected me. Either way, I doubt I have any means of convincing his view to ours, but I could go with you later when you are done."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342262

>>342261
I chuckle awkwardly.
"Y'know. I really should try and finish this first though. I feel vulnerable without my gun. And I don't need to convince him, if I could just come up with some bullshit lies that would be more than enough."

Wf+6 342263

>>342259
"It's possible, maybe… It would take time to teach you, though."

If you want to learn this it will take 3 hours (puts you on Summer's clock) and will consume the watch.

>>342260
"I hope you're right, but just remember we're not here to make friends."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342264

>>342263
Wait, consume the watch? Doesn't it give me +1 to learning OR allows me to learn twice in a day but destroys itself?

Borders Skewed [Mage] 342265

>>342262
"He does not seem the sort to be easily swayed by that, even. That is of course what I mean."

I need to leave for a bit, Wf. How long will this go on for?

Wf+6 342266

>>342265
In like 3 minutes, but feel free to keep RPing.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342267

>>342268
Learn you do.

>>342267
Nope, it sucks, you hate it. Looks like you're going to spend some more time as a lil pone.

Maybe if you could muster some genuine feelings about how order and working efficiently are useful, you might get something passable.

[Pause]

Light Heart [Warlord] 342501

I'm waaaaiting~

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342505

>>342501
Let's say you were just walking around nearby.

I look up from my paper.
"Hey! Heart! Over here!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342516

>>342505
"… Miss Emrille?"
I approach her, looking slightly puzzled

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342519

>>342516
I rear up on my hindlegs and throw my forehooves in the air.
"Ta-daaa! I thought the whole filly in a school outfit would suit me better for a trip like this, don't you think?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342523

>>342519
What is it with these pirates and their age spells?
"Right. You do not seem very concerned with this, so assume this whole ordeal has a reason?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342527

>>342523
I nod.
"Actually, it was Alibio. I was asking a few questions about…"
Try to lean up/flutter up/reach up to Light Hearts ears.
"..getting the collar off of Summer."

I look back at myself
"I don't think he was very convinced. Now he wants me to write him a paper on chain of command and stuff to turn me back."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342533

>>342527
"So you followed up on my advice and were magically turned into a filly because of it."
I pick her up and hold her in the air with a small smile
"Adorable."
Set her back down on the table
"I assume from your current state that you did not employ much tact into asking mister Abilio?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342540

>>342533
I scrunch as she picks up.
"It's not funny. Okay, a bit, but you're having too much of it!"
Pout at her.
"I miss my gun… She must be so scared without me."
Laugh it off, then back to the usual tone.
"I found out a few things at least. I wasn't trying to be sneaky, true, but it had a fruit. I know what my next step should be… well, after I'm a mare again, that is. It would be many smaller steps like this."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342546

>>342540
"I imagine she must be terrified without you, yes. I assume you need my help writing said paper? I'm quite busy already, but I suppose I could spare some time for a partner. What is your plan?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342550

>>342546
"You'd help me! Oh thank you, that'd be great! I don't think I sounded very convincing so far."
Show her what I have so far, which is not much, and what I have is more silly than actually usable.

"As for my plan, I'll tell that once we're done with the paper, or at least worked on it. I don't want to be too loud about it or he will keep me like this forever."

342557

>>342550
"You may whisper, miss Emrille."
Time to employ that bluff on paperform.
Scrap the whole thing she has right now and start over. Write down what a pony like Abilio would want to hear.

Roll #1 6 + 2 = 8

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342567

>>342557
I smile as she writes it.
"Good, good, you are much better than this! I knew I could count on you!"

Hop closer on the table to her, then lean closer and whisper again.
"So there's that Commodore dude, the head, right? It's his will that Summer is in that collar. Asking to remove that from both of them? I think that's impossible. But Summer is still just a filly, we are out on the open sea, and she wouldn't go anywhere without her mother even if she could. This is what I have, but from how Abilio spoke of the dude, I'm not planning on meeting him anytime soon. He has three subordinates though. His delegates, Umlock, Landgrave, and Abilio himself. If we get at least two out of three to agree with us, we may have a chance to get the filly out of the collar, she'll be happy, her mother will be happy, everyone wins!"

342572

>>342567
I clear my throat, continuing to write and speaking softly, barely above a whisper
"I've spoken with Commodore Tallow before. Perhaps I can do so again and ask him directly."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342575

"Are you sure? I mean, if you could pull it off I'd be much grateful and everything, but we could take the safe route of just asking his commanders."

342582

>>342575
Keep at it
"He seemed like a reasonable… bull. I could at least ask him, no? Although it does seem like an awful lot of effort on your part just for the good doctor, miss Emrille. She is not the only mare on this ship after all."

Roll #1 4 + 2 = 6

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342593

>>342582
"You could try, yes. Or, how about, we could try. I'm not much of a diplomat, as I said, but maybe there's the two of us he'll be more bent on agreeing?"

Then I chuckle and lean against her neck from the top of the table.
"And the more you fight for something the more rewarding it is, isn't it? I mean, of course there are others, but it's no fun if I could just get them with a wave of my hand. The fruit of hard work tastes better!"
Give her a nudge and lower my voice.
"Not to mention I heard from her she's a mare-virgin~… but most importantly, I already invested a full doubloon in her. I won't let that go to waste."

342598

>>342593
Work work work
"If you hadn't brought her back, I would have. I like having a doctor nearby, just in case. I cannot say I agree with your sentiment of hard work and fruits, but I suppose if you feel that way then so be it. And not to offend you, but I would rather go alone."

Roll #1 4 + 2 = 6

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342605

Hm. Not great, but passable.
Hoof it to Emrille so she can copy it all over if she so pleases.

Lets see where this will head.

Lets just assume I opened the door looking for booze.

"Wha? Mellow told me this is the storeroo…. hey nice seeing you. Welcome aboard the ship." I notion to Lightheart.

>>342614
Turn around to face him
"Mister Chip. How pleasant to see another friendly face. I trust you are doing fine?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342620

"I was at the bank. I was a mare with a big gun and a top hat, not a filly in a schooldress. I can see why that would get you confused."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342621

>>342620
I pick her up again
"And are you not just the most adorable thing I've seen all day, miss Rosemary's heart would no doubt melt in the blink of an eye if she saw you right now. I could just eat you. Fortunately I am not a cannibal, so I will refrain from such acts."

I'm still at the clinic with Spring and Doc Peg, right?

Light Heart [Warlord] 342623

>>342622
It's just Player to Player interaction

But I could be your Spring tonight~

Chip(DD knight) 342624

>>342620
"Ah, I remember you now, you are part of the bank heist right?"
"Or is it Lightheart?
"Doesnt matter, you look kinda good in that dress."
"….. "
"I mean it suits you well."
"……. "

>>342619
"Anyway… I was finding some booze around. I was told by Mellow Marsh earlier there was some here, but I may have misheard and… here I am."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342625

>>342624
"We were all involved in the heist, mister Chip. You proved to be quite capable even. I was impressed by your bravado and skill in battle. Unfortunately, I do not know where the alcohol is stored as I do not drink myself."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342626

>>342622
We are just doing RP

>>342621
I scrunch again.
"Are you done yet? Or will you ruffly mane and scratch my ear too? And leave the eating for Miss Roseary then."
Let out a short laugh.

>>342624
I turn my head towards him still held by Light.
"Uh.. Thanks I guess? Too bad I will outgrow it soon. Hopefully."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342627

>>342626
I chuckle softly and put her down again
"We will get you back to normal size soon enough. As long as you do not provoke mister Abilio you should be safe. And rest assured I would be more than willing to do some eating if you wished me to."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342628

>>342623
>>342626
…oh. That would make sense.
>>342623
Y- You could?

Chip(DD knight) 342629

>>342625
"Uhrmm… well, I am a good brawler back then so that may explain a thing or two."
I look around a bit.
"So no booze here I take it?"

>>342626
"…. and Outgrow? Just saying but you look…. cute." I smile.

… then scratch my head.
"De-aging spell… isnt it that one cast by Abilio or something if I remember correctly?" I looked at Lighheart, then smile at Emrille.

Light Heart [Warlord] 342630

>>342628
Not without Wf's consent, of course

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342631

>>342627
"I'm not sure I can do that. I mean, provoking him is half the joy of talking with him."
I raise an eyebrow.
"And you're not into fillies, are you? Because that's just wrong."

>>342629
I smirk.
"Of course I look cute. I am cute. And charming. Come to think of it, there are oh so many ways I could scam the money out of everyone like this."
Then I nod.
"And yeah, I sort of upset him, that's why he cast the spell on me."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342632

>>342631
I grin
"I do not intend on writing an essay for you every day, miss Emrille. so do try to be more polite and tactful. I'm sure miss Spring would very much appreciate that."
I shake my head slowly
"And I meant after the spell has been removed. Your current form is adorable, but certainly not in that way."

>>342629
"I am not sure where the alcohol is stored. It is unwise to drink alcohol in my condition anyway. But yes, I was impressed."

Chip(DD knight) 342633

>>342631
I approach.
"Well would you now? Makes me wonder why you want to go back to yourself if it would be easier to make money out of that form?" I smile slyly.

Light Heart [Warlord] 342634

>>342633
"Being small means being defenseless. Not a good state to be in around here."

Chip(DD knight) 342635

>>342632
"Well… thanks, I guess?" You are not bad yourself and I got to admit I blunder here and there so I must say that this old sea dog is getting old."
>>342634
I then look at Emrille and back to Lightheart.
"So you are helping her with her dilemna I take it."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342636

>>342632
"I'll try, I'll try, yeah. I'm just not really used to being polite, you know? As for other matters, I don't think miss Spring would appreciate that either, do you?"

>>342633
"First of all, I can't carry my rifle. Second of all, we are on a ship with pirates. Who could I even scam here?"

Chip(DD knight) 342637

>>342635
"Well older than old… I mean I am getting of age." I smiled back.

>>342636
"Ohohoho… perhaps you're right."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342638

>>342635
"We all blunder sometimes, mister Chip. The important part is that all of us are still here. And that we succeeded in what we wanted, despite the deaths and wounds."

>>342636
"I do know. I required some social training myself to get what I wanted. And I cannot imagine miss Spring not approving of you being polite!"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342639

>>342637
"Yeah. I mean, it wouldn't be very clever to try and rob the ponies who give me shelter and food, would it?"

>>342638
"Not that. The other thing. And yeah, she already asked me to swear less. Which I'm trying. Sometimes."

Chip(DD knight) 342640

>>342639
"It would, it would. You're a very clever filly if you ask me."

>>342638
I grab my neckerchief in my pocket and wipe the perspiration forming on my nose.
"She really is cute, would you mind if I carry Emrille a bit?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342641

Outtanowhere! I guess I had to meet Abilio or some shit.
>>342639
"Ehy we have a new filly on board?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342642

>>342640
"They do say I'm mature for my age!"
I giggle.
"Carry me where, though?"

>>342641
"Don't you recognise me, Felfire?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342643

>>342642
"Shooty pony who just wanted to go to sleep? Emrille?"

Sion 342644

I pop in out of nowhere as well, while I was aimlessly wandering the deck.

"Hey. What's going on here?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342645

>>342639
"Miss Spring does not need to know about the other part, of course. Not that I'm pushing for it, I have my own nurse waiting for me in my cabin."

>>342640
I bark a very unladylike laugh
"I'm not her mother, so I suppose you should ask her."

Tony [Trickster] 342646

>>342644
Forgot le name.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342647

>>342645
"I'd rather just concentrate on the task at hoof for the moment. We'll see."

>>342643
"Don't tell me you weren't tired after yesterday!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342648

>>342647
"Of course."

>>342641
>>342644
I give them both a curt nod
"Miss Felfire. Mister…?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342649

>>342644
"Oh, hey Tony! What's up?"

Chip(DD knight) 342650

>>342645
>>342642
I kneel down and carry her on both of my paws.
"Carry you here and see what you are made of. Are you ponies made of marhsmallow?"
rolling to cup some feels while not making it obvious.
'1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

Felfire [Necromancer] 342651

>>342647
"Actually I was up all night. Terrebonne just loves talking about stars."
>>342648
"Light Heart, right?"

Tony [Trickster] 342652

>>342648
"Just call me Tony, and you are?"

>>342649
"Hey, Emrille. Just checking out the scenery. What's going on in here?"

Chip(DD knight) 342653

>>342650
I then bring Emrille next to my face, then whisper.
"I could also carry you where ever you want?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342654

>>342651
"Yes indeed."

>>342652
I give him a polite nod
"A pleasure, mister Tony. My name is Light Heart. I believe we met in the vault? Things were quite hairy down there."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342655

>>342652
"Ugh, long story. Don't pick a pone with Abilio though."

>>342650
>>342653
Looks like I'm completely oblivious to the fact that he is doing that on purpose.
I don't even notice it.
"I think I'm made of pony. Though the way that golem got me smacked might prove that I am marshmallow."
Then whisper back.
"Even richness?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342656

>>342655
"Ehi Emrille, how comes Abilio hexed you?"
I'll just enjoy the scene. Not any day you can see a fillyphile do his thing with a pony that's not actually a filly.

Tony [Trickster] 342657

>>342655
I nod

>>342654
"That was some shit. I'm just glad we got out of there with all our limbs."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342658

>>342656
"He can't take a joke, that's how!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342659

>>342657
"Yes indeed. It looked quite grim for us for a while. I suppose we have only ourselves to blame for not planning our actions better. Unfortunately, there was just not enough time to do so."

Chip(DD knight) 342660

>>342655
Oh my… can I control myself?
'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

Chip(DD knight) 342661

>>342660
"I can make you feel rich, but first I must bite your ears."
I then bit her ears softly.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342662

>>342658
"Yeah, he's famous for that."
>>342657
Cough and nod over at my wings.
"Almost all our limbs."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342663

>>342662
I raise an eyebrow
"Miss Felfire, my apologies. How insensitive of me not to notice."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342664

>>342663
"Meh, I don't care. Actually, I'm thinking about keeping them. The copper has a nice shine to it."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342665

>>342661
I giggle and pull my head away.
"Haha, what the fuck? I told you I don't acutally taste like marshmallows!"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342666

I wander over, but slowly start to back away as I notice all the pirates.
"U- Um… never mind…"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342667

>>342664
I take a closer look
"Surely, that must have hurt? Are you not attached to your wings at all?"

Tony [Trickster] 342668

>>342664
"They DO look sort of shiny." I say when I take another look at those wings.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342669

>>342664
"I don't know how you can keep so chill about it."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342670

>>342666
"Yo kid! Wanna join? I'll take care of you, if that's what you're worried about."
Smile at her.
>>342667
"They are kinda useful, but I might as well wait until my corpse blows up.
I'll just reincarnate and have new working wings."
>>342668
"Right? I'm just worried about having to polish them every day…"
>>342669
Shrug.
"Flesh is a passing thing."

Chip(DD knight) 342671

>>342665
Lick my lips and think for a moment(while squeezing flank nonchalantly)
"Hmmm… there is a hint of marshmallowy goodness but most of it taste like pony."

>>342666
Do I notice her?
'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342672

>>342666
Satan pls
Usher her along out of here
"Yes. Exactly. Never mind. Goodbye."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342673

>>342670
"But what about flying?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342674

>>342670
"I… see."

>>342673
I nod
"Yes, I cannot imagine flight is possible with those."

Tony [Trickster] 342675

>>342670
"Don't you have a lot of walking corpses laying around? Let them do it."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342676

>>342671
"Don't let the newcomer ear you, he'd gobble Emrille up in a bite!"
Giggle a bit.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342677

>>342671
"Sorry to dissapoint then. Maybe we can ask Abilio to turn me into an actual marshmallow next time."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342678

>>342675
"Not even one right now. A shame, really, since I'm horny since this morning and have no skeleton helping me out."
>>342673
>>342674
"I told you, I don't mind for now. Not like I'm much of a fighter anyway."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342679

>>342670
I nervously smile back.
"I- It's okay miss Feelfear… I- I'm just gonna be going now…"
>>342672
>Satan
pls

Light Heart [Warlord] 342680

>>342678
"If you say so, miss Felfire."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342681

>>342679
"You sure? We got booze you know~"
Grin at the filly.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342682

>>342681
"I don't think she's old enough to drink."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342683

>>342681
Give her a curious look, still nervous but curious.
"Booze?… What's that?"

Tony [Trickster] 342684

>>342678
"Bummer" I say very dryly.

Chip(DD knight) 342685

>>342676
I stop licking my lips then look at Felfire.
"Nuh uh. I had better idea's in mind."

>>342677
"If I am Abilio, I would rather make this whole ship turn to…… marshmallows.. yeah." I give an awkward smile.

>>342679
I look back and see her and give her a warm smile.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342686

>>342679
"Summer…"
Motion my head to the door

>>342681
"My daughter is too young for alcohol, it would damage her mind."

>>342683
"You know what it is, sweetie. The sailors back home always had ruined livers because of it, remember?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342687

>>342682
"How did she make it till now the?"
>>342685
Give him a knowing smirk.
"Oh I know exactly what you had in mind."
>>342683
"The god's embrace, kid."
>>342686
"Oh please, I was younger and look how well adjusted I am!"
Then turn to Tony.
>>342684
"I know, right? But there is this spirit from before the discordian era, he's a true gentlestallion.
I think I'm in love."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342688

>>342685
"You have pretty weird tastes, you know that?"

>>342686
Give a small wave for Spring.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342689

>>342687
I narrow my eyes
"Yes. It's uncanny."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342690

>>342688
I give her a not now look

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342691

>>342690
Frown and lower my hoof.

Light Heart [Warlord] 342692

>>342685
"Mister Chip, while I do not doubt mister Abilio's magical skills for even a second, I sincerely doubt he has the power to turn wood into marshmallow."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342693

>>342686
"Oh, alcohol?"
>>342685
I meekly smile back.
>>342687
"God's embrace? But momma told me that Luna never condones drinking alcohol."

Tony [Trickster] 342694

>>342687
"Exotic tastes eh? Whatever suits your fancy."
I turn to Spring and Summer

>>342690
"Excuse me, I haven't introduced myself. Name's Tony."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342695

>>342693
"But Grogar approves. And he's a cool god."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342696

>>342691
Don't give me that look, you. Not with the rest of these stinking pirates.

>>342693
I nod
"Alcohol. You're much to young for something like that, sweetie."

>>342694
I give him an apprehensive look
"Spring Water."

>>342695
"That could very well be, but my daughter follows a different god, as is tradition in our family."

[lemon] 342697

>>342687
Wha.. what?
Oh fuck

"Weeell… great minds think alike. Haha!" I look away while smiling.

>>342688
I give Emrille a stern and serious look. The look that cold froze a thousand sun.
"Many pirates and other…. people of bad taste told me that."

Roll #1 4 = 4

Chip(DD knight) 342698

>>342697
OOC: changing names, internet hating me again.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342699

>>342697
"Nah, I like my servings… Cold."
Smirk again, but don't push the matter.
>>342696
"Think of it as a celebration of the laughing one! You need some too!"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342700

>>342697
It's not very effective.
"Hey, if you want to eat a boatful of candy I'm not going to stop you. Maybe you can find a candy factory in the next city!"

>>342696
Pout slightly at her.
I just wanted to say hi, not hit on you or anything

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342701

>>342694
"I- I'm Summer Seas, mister Tony."
>>342695
"Grogar? Isn't he that evil ram?"
>>342696
"But I got my cutie mark! I'm not that young!"

Tony [Trickster] 342702

>>342696
"Charmed."

>>342701
Smile kindly to the filly.
"Just call me Tony, kid."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342703

>>342701
"Geting a cutie mark does not mean you are mature enough for certain things though."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342704

>>342703
"Like what?"
I tilt my head at her.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342705

>>342699
"No thank you. I remain faithful to the Moon and the teachings of Luna. Not that I expect you to understand."

>>342701
I actually smile at that
"No, I suppose you are not. Still, I don't want you touching that stuff, alright? Give it a couple of years."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342706

>>342701
"Evil?"
Widen my eyes in shock.
"Well now, looks like somepony needs a lesson on the holy ways."
Stand up and trot over to her.
"Is time evil, Summer?"

Chip(DD knight) 342707

>>342700
I frown.
"I.. errr… dont like candy. I like giving them out, but not eating it."
"Marshmallows are good though."

>>342701
>>342701
I then look at Summer.
"Are you feeling fine?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342708

>>342707
I cock a brow
"Aren't marshmallows candy too, mister Chip?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342709

>>342704
"You know, grown up stuff you are not allowed to even hear about yet?"

>>342707
"You're a pretty generous diamond dog if I ever seen one then. I don't suppose you give away money for free?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342710

>>342706
I move in front of Summer
"You will teach her nothing. I do not want my daughter to dabble into the teachings of Grogar. Evil or not."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342711

>>342710
Frown at her.
Fucking Moonbeam and his warnings.
"Okay, your loss. Whatever."
Go back in my corner.

Chip(DD knight) 342712

>>342708
I yelp.
"Well… yes! But they are good and soft than the hard ones."

>>342709
I squeeze Emrille's flank hard while saying this single word in the most flat out monotone that I can muster.
"No."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342713

>>342702
"Okay, mister Tony."
>>342705
"Okay…"
I frown.
>>342709
"But i'm not that young! I know a bunch of grown up stuff!"
>>342706
>>342710
>>342711
"…Huh?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342714

>>342712
Okay, that I can notice, stealthy or not.
Give him a slap on his face.
'1d10'
"Hey! Paws off!"

>>342713
"Like swear words I taught you?"

Roll #1 8 = 8

Felfire [Necromancer] 342715

>>342713
Wave a hoof dismissively.
"Nothing kid, don't worry."
Flop back my ears and stay quiet.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342716

>>342711
"Thank you."

>>342713
"Don't worry about it sweetheart."

>>342714
I frown at her

Light Heart [Warlord] 342717

>>342712
I shrug
"I suppose. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to tend to business with the Commodore."
Take my leave

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342718

>>342716
"Uh, it's good though! Now she knows which words not to use ever!"

Tony [Trickster] 342719

>>342716
"You're a priestess of Luna?"

Chip(DD knight) 342720

>>342714
Alright that got to hurt.
"Ow, ow. Alright it is just in jest, haha calm down." I put Emrille down.
"But I am still not giving out gold."

Chip(DD knight) 342721

>>342719
"Both of them as a matter of fact." I said while rubbing my cheeks.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342722

>>342720
Take a small step back.
"Damn, I was hoping I could scam you at least."
Give him a cheeky grin.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342723

>>342715
>>342716
"But I wanna knooow!"
>>342714
"And other things too!"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342724

>>342723
"Calm down and give it time. You can learn about them in their due time and become a nice pony like your mother, or learn everything while young from sources you don't want to learn from and… well, yeah. You don't want that."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342725

>>342723
Give her a smile.
"I was about to say something really stupid that your momma wouldn't have liked."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342726

>>342718
"Yes, well… you'll have to excuse my lack of gratitude for that."

>>342719
"No. I am a doctor. I worship the Moon and Luna's teachings though. It is tradition in my family."
I pause for a moment
"As was there a tradition to maintain the clinic back home… until these pirates decided to snatch that away…"

Tony [Trickster] 342727

>>342721
I look back at Summer and Spring.

"That's fun. I didn't expect any clergy on board of a pirate ship."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342728

>>342726
"It was in a controlled manner at least. I mean, I know she won't use those words because she doesn't want to dissapoint you."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342729

>>342726
"You should stop being so hateful with Emrille. She's at least trying to help you around here."

Chip(DD knight) 342730

>>342727
I look at the two and back to Tony.
"Well… they are exactly not on their own volition here if I am correct."

"Still it is one's duty to protect the few healers that we got here. Without them, we'd be throwing bodies down the plank in no time."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342731

>>342729
"And I am grateful for that. But the fact remains that without you pirates, I wouldn't have needed the help. I had a considerable amount of savings, my clinic, my daughter…"
I look at Summer
"And now she's all I have left…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342732

>>342731
"Uh, I wasn't exactly around during that time, but if you are going to blame me for it, go ahead. I deserve it…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342733

>>342731
"So since it's between us pirates let me tell you a secret.
It's better to keep the few friends you make on this ship close.
Trust me."

Chip(DD knight) 342734

>>342731
I cross my arms.
"You have us."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342735

>>342724
"Sources you don't want to learn from?"
>>342725
"Oh… okay."
>>342726
>>342731
I sigh and frown, then huddle up closer to Spring as I think of home.
"I miss home…"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342736

>>342732
"That is not the point. I do not blame anypony personally. I blame piracy."

>>342733
>>342734
"Indeed. But can you blame me for remaining careful?"

>>342735
"I know… I'm sorry…"

Chip(DD knight) 342737

>>342735
I give Sumemr a stern look.
"As much as I dont want to say this, but this is your home now."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342738

>>342736
"No you misunderstood me.
Half the ponies in this room would gut you with no second thought.
Emrille? She seems cool.
All I gotta say."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342739

>>342735
"Let's just say that a small pony who lives on can hear a lot of things she wishes she did not."

>>342736
"Not everypony has it easy with live, and some ponies to turn to it. I don't think they spent their lives saying 'oh buy it sure must be nice to live as an outlaw!' as kids, but this is how they used the cards they've been dealt."

Tony [Trickster] 342741

>>342738
I cock an eyebrow at Fellfire.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342742

>>342737
I clench my jaw but remain quiet
I'll gut you when I get the chance, dog. Mark my words, two can play dirty.

>>342738
I look at the ground for a moment, then nod.
"Yes. I know. And like I said…"
I look up at Emrille
"I am grateful for that."

>>342739
"I tend to try and do my best to help those ponies who have it hard. It's… discouraging sometimes."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342743

>>342736
"I- I miss home… and I miss my friends and my school a- and…"
I sniffle.
>>342737
I huddle up to Spring tighter and look at the floor.
>>342739
>>342740
"…You lived on your own, miss Emrille?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342744

>>342741
"What? It's true."
>>342742
Just nod to her and stay quiet.

Tony [Trickster] 342746

>>342744
"I can tell you one thing, I might not know much, but I know my priorities."
Turn back to Spring.

>>342742
"And killing a healer is the last thing in my mind."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342747

>>342742
Smile back at her.
"We all have hardships. Some ponies more, some less. You are a pony with a strong heart though. You'll pull through this little thing too, I know it."
Give her a small wink.

>>342743
"I told you when I first met you. I thought you were abandoned too. And not on my own per say, there were always ponies to hang out with, but most of them either died of diseases or cold, got killed, got caught and went to jail, that sort of thing. There were times when I thought they were the lucky ones, but my fortune shined on me when I discovered I know my way around guns, and can use that knowledge to get money."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342748

>>342745
Snicker, but say nothing.
>>342746
"Smart one."

Chill back and relax.

Chip(DD knight) 342749

OOC: deleted a part arg.
>>342736
"No. I cant blame you, but circumstances has veered you.."
I then look at Summer. "and your daughter to this path. Better make the most out of it than antagonizing everyone around you."

>>342742
>>342743
I then scratch my head.
"I would protect you two even if it kills me. Just ask your daughter, she knows what I mean."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342750

>>342743
I pet her mane and giver her a small kiss on the forehead
"I know sweetie… I'm so sorry…"

>>342745

>>342749
"I know. But like I said, it's easy to lose myself in frustration around here."

>>342747
"That's what I am counting on."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342751

>>342750
"And that's what I'm hoping too. Y'know, you really deserve better."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342752

>>342747
I pause as I consider and think about what she's saying.
"You didn't… try being adopted? Or finding a nice family to care for you?"
>>342749
I pause again to consider what he's saying.
"…i'm sorry for being, um… rude to you, mister Chip."
>>342750
I sniffle again.

Chip(DD knight) 342753

>>342750
I rub my nose with my paw and huff.
"You do know that I would protect you and your daughter from harms way if I can help it."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342754

>>342751
>>342753
"I know. But I also know that I myself am no saint. I have my own flaws and I'm aware of them. Keeping them under control is just not always easy."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342755

>>342752
"Hah! You knock on the door of a nice family living their lives without a care in the world, begging them to give you at least a bit of food, and you know what they do? Smack the door right on your face, so they could live in their sheltered little private reality, thinking that there is nothing wrong going on with this world. Orphanages are not even worth a mention. They serve anything but their purpose. I was better off on the streets than by in one of those."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342756

I crawl out from whatever dark corner I went to sleep in after watching Felfire and Terrebonne manipulate the shadows. Once I finish stretching I watch the party talk.
Are we all on the deck?

Chip(DD knight) 342757

>>342754
I look at Spring, giving her a serious look. I then approach her and put a paw on her shoulder.
"I… I know that feeling."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342758

>>342756
No idea, but I'd probably wave you over.
Ans so I motioned him to join us.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342759

>>342754
"But you can do it most of the time."
Give her a grin.
"That's what makes you a better pony."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342760

>>342758
I slink over while keeping an eye on the others.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342761

>>342755
I shake my head sadly
"I'm… very sorry to hear that, Emrille."
I sigh
"I always did my best to facilitate everypony. Both rich and poor. But I'm aware not everypony else shares that sentiment."

>>342757
I awkwardly look between him and his paw
"O-kay…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342762

>>342760
Move in whispering distance.
"What did Gar tell you, this morning?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342763

>>342761
I shrug.
"I'm alive and well, and that's what matters, right? And some good came of it, I learned a lot during that time, and I know how to take care of myself."

Chip(DD knight) 342764

>>342761
Realizing what I just done, I slowly remove my paws from her.

>>342752
I then look at Summer.
"No need for that, I just hope we can be on good terms." I smile back.
"From now on, I will protect you from harm."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342765

>>342755
I frown.
"That's really mean! Those ponies aren't good ponies at all…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342766

>>342765
"You know what's the sad thing about that? Those were the ponies with wealth and riches. nearly all of them. And do you know who were the ones who actually helped? Those who were poor themselves. Because they didn't have much, but they knew how bad it is when you haven't eaten anything for a day or two."

342767

>>342762
I ruffle my feathers uncomfortably.
"Spirits talk mouth Gar. Words privatesacred for Seekkill."
I look away from her and squint at Ermille. Taking out my dice, I roll some of them.

Roll #1 4, 3, 1, 3, 4 = 15

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342768

>>342766
>>342767
I collect my dice and poke you.
"Pirate?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342769

>>342768
Take a step away and rub my side.
"No, I'm not a pirate, I'm a freelancer. And usually mare sized too, but that's a long story."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342770

>>342763
I stare at her for a long time
"You are also very small. I did not dare to ask, but what happened to you?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342771

>>342767
Shrug.
"Whatever."

And then I relaxed back.

Light Heart [Warlord] 342772

>>342769
"Have you finished copying the text, miss Emrille?"
I step back into the room
"The commodore was busy, so I regret to say I have no answer to your question… yet."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342773

>>342766
"That's what miss Provst Seed Sour told me too…"
I fiddle with the icon she gave me.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342774

>>342769
I poke her again.
"Spirit curse!"

>>342771
"Fluff teach metalwings shadow spirits?"

Tony [Trickster] 342775

>>342767
I take a curious look at Seekkills dice
"That's some crazy stuff you've got there mate. What they for?"

Chip(DD knight) 342776

>>342769
I rasie an eyebrow.
"I thought you wanted to stay that way."

>>342764
>
>>342773

Felfire [Necromancer] 342777

>>342774
"Yeah, she did. Is different from what I knew, really different."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342778

>>342776
Sorry.
>>342764
"You will, mister Chip? You really will?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342779

>>342775
"Ask spirits. Spirits talk."

>>342777
"What spirits metalwings know?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342780

>>342770
I chuckle awkwardly.
"Yeaaaah, about that. Looks like Capn' Alibio does not take jokes well."

>>342772
"Yes, thanks again for that! I'll take it to him soon. I owe you one for this."

>>342773
"Must have some truth in it, doesn't it?"

>>342774
Bat his talon away.
"Cut that out! And what curse?"

342781

>>342780
"Tiny?"
I roll some dice.

Roll #1 1, 1 = 2

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342782

Felfire [Necromancer] 342783

"Hey let the girl go, she's not cursed. It's a little hex Abilio can do."
Then think about the other question.
"I can say I really know only one spirit…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342784

Tony [Trickster] 342785

>>342779
"Really now? What do they say about me?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342786

>>342781
… You don't see that kind of crazy very often…
I eye the griffin apprehensively

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342787

>>342781
>>342782
I sigh.
"Ugh, I told you, this is just a temporarly thing. I'm a grown up mare."

Chip(DD knight) 342788

>>342778
I kneel down and give her a confident smile.
"Most certainly. I will protect you if I can."

342789

>>342783
"Abilo? Hex?"
I shake my head.
"Spirit teach?"

>>342787
"Yes. Tiny fake."

>>342785
I sprinkle a bit of dust from a pouch in my my dice pouch, then let some of them fall to the floor.

>>342786
I ignore her.

Roll #1 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4 = 21

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342790

>>342788
I clear my throat
"And I will protect her even more."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342791

>>342789
"Yes, it's fake. I'm glad we've come to agree on that."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342792

>>342788
I give him a small hug and a smile.
"Thank you mister Chip."
>>342789
"…What are you doing mister… Sehkeal?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342793

>>342789
Nod.
"Abilio talks with many spirits. Very powerful ones."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342794

>>342789
>>342785
I trace some lines between the dice with my claw.
"New. Not slave. Not doctor. Pirate not pirate?"

>>342792
"Spirit ask."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342795

>>342794
>>342793
I glance at the griphon, then at Felfire.
"Is he drunk or he always talks like this?

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342796

>>342795
"Drink? Have good water?"

Tony [Trickster] 342797

>>342794
"I think you call me a pirate mate. Or better, Tony. So do you have a name or should I call you the voodoo griffon?'

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342798

>>342796
I sigh defeatedly.
"Nope, he always talks like this then."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342799

>>342796
"I believe miss Emrille was inquiring whether or not you are currently intoxicated, mister…?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342800

>>342795
"Always. Oh, and he knows a special tongue just for him and the crazy know-it-all dragon."

Chip(DD knight) 342801

>>342792
I then give a hug(albeit an awkward one) back.
"Thanks." I give a warm smile

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342802

>>342792
>>342801
I tense up slightly, but say nothing

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342803

>>342802
Do I notice her discomfort?
'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342804

>>342797
"Seekkill."

>>342799
"In-tox-ih-kate-ed? In-tox-ih. Tox. Tox-sin? Tox-sin poison?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342805

>>342804
I chuckle softly
"I suppose you could call it poison."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342806

>>342803
Of course I do, it's obvious.

>>342804
"And how!"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342807

>>342805
I cackle.
"Immune."

>>342806
"Yes. Toxin how? Heart kill?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342808

>>342804
"Good poison. Poison that let's you not think about the worries and makes you relax."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342809

>>342807
"No, it makes you feel great for the night and terrible for the morning."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342810

>>342808
"Or in my case, could cause a violent heart attack."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342811

>>342804
"Yeah, it's… it's not good for you, mister Sehkeal."
>>342808
>>342809
"It also really hurts your liver if you drink too much!"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342812

>>342808
>>342809
"Self poison?"
I look at them like they are stupid.

>>342810
I clack my beak.
"Heart kill poison."

>>342811
"Liver kill? Useless. Blood rot good. Lung kill good."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342813

>>342811
"Not a big deal since magic can regrow organs."
>>342810
"I still don't get how you survived the vault… We were roasting in there."
>>342812
Roll my eyes but say nothing.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342814

>>342811
I chuckle.
"And your dignity."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342815

>>342811
I nod and pat her on the head

>>342813
"It is a big deal."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342816

>>342813
I look her in the eye.
"Regrow…organs?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342817

>>342812
"Heart? I'm not sure I follow."

>>342813
"I was practically swimming in medication, not to mention I lived most of my life in the scorching tropics. That plus a calm mind can go a long way. Besides, I've seen much worse than that golem."

Chip(DD knight) 342818

>>342811
I put a paw on my face.
I didnt know that.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342819

>>342816
Move my hooves around in a creepy way.
"Maaaagic!"
>>342815
"Seriously?"
>>342817
"I was talking about the heat, but okay."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342820

>>342817
"What the fuck did you actually see if that golem was not bad?"

Chip(DD knight) 342821

>>342817
I give a frown.
"If you had worse than that, then I dont want to know what that is."

Sho Time [Preacher] 342822

Sho is in the barracks, which I suppose is down below.

I came to in a hard bed with a start and sat up in confusion. What had happened? Looking around, it seemed like I was in some kind of…what was this? A house of some sort? There were beds everywhere. Did I faint somewhere ended up being taken to a hospital? The possibilities were endless.

I slid off the bed with a yawn noticing something strange with my neck. Touching it gingerly, I felt some sort of…a collar? What?! Who put a COLLAR on me? I mean, I know I'm small, but that just doesn't make me a housepet! Angered by this, I slammed my hoof upon the wall, growling.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342823

>>342817
"Heart."
Without looking her way I poke her in the chest where he heart is.

>>342819
"Magic. Spirits talk magic. Spirits not teach Seekkkill magic, teach survive, teach be strong."
I point at Summer.
"Fix flesh magic. Regrow organ magic?"

>>342822
Wf+6 ain't here.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342824

>>342823
Nod.
"Yeah. That's the gist of it."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342825

>>342819
"So was I. You think the tropics are cold?"
I chuckle

>>342820
>>342821
"Dragons, undead pirates on big flying ships, mutants, giant sea monsters, even bigger sea monsters…"
I pause for a moment
"Mind you, I did not actually fight any of it myself. I had ponies who did the work for me. Exciting times those were…"

Sho Time [Preacher] 342826

>>342823
I know but he said like I'm not in chains or anything and that I'm free to wander around.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342827

>>342824
I whistle.
"Powerful filly."

>>342826
I know, but I don't think we are in the bunkhouses? Might want to find us.

Light Heart [Warlord] 342828

>>342823
I shake my head
"No… poison kills heart, mister Seekkill."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342829

>>342825
"Well now… Talk a bit about this flying ship of undead ponies…"
My eyes sparkle at the idea.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342830

>>342825
"And here I thought smuggling and assasination was an interesting job."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342831

>>342819
I nod.
"Organs regrown with magic are weaker than healthy organs!"
>>342827
I blush and look away.
"I- I'm not that good at healing magic…"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342832

>>342829
"It was a rather… unpleasant encounter."

>>342830
"Excitement is bad for the heart anyway, miss Emrille"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342833

>>342831
I smile and put a hoof over her head
"Yes you are. You'll grow up to be a better doctor than I am, sweetie."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342834

>>342832
"Sounds charming to me!"
>>342831
"Reincarnation doesn't have those limits."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342835

>>342828
I nod and talk slowly, like I am talking to an idiot.
"Yessss. Poison kills."

>>342831
I cackle.
"Stronger than island ponies!"
I sigh then lick my beak.
"No more plump island ponies"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342836

>>342832
"Yeah, but the lack of excitement can lead you to premature death by boredom."

>>342831
"Of course you are! I couldn't even count how many times you saved my ass back there."

Chip(DD knight) 342837

>>342825
"Uuugghh… I loath to meet any of those mind you." I frown.

>>342831
Am I still hugging you? If so release her from my grasp and stand up.
"Not good? Just look at what you've done to me."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342838

>>342835
"But you said-"
I shake my head
"Never mind."

>>342836
I chuckle softly
"Very true. The key is balance."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342839

>>342833
"Nuh-uh! You're always gonna be better than me!"
>>342834
"Maybe… but it's probably more dangerous."
>>342835
"Island ponies?"
>>342837
>>342836
I assumed it was just a quick hug, so probably not.
"My momma could've done better…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342840

>>342839
"There's just a tiny chance to lose your soul forever."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342841

>>342838
"Or just finding non-lethal excitement. That can come in a lot of forms too."

>>342839
"Remember when that cannonball hit? You saved all of us all by yourself. That's all we need."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342842

>>342834
"A good doctor will make sure reincarnation is not necessary. Necromancy is simply too… costly and risky."

>>342839
I chuckle
"I can see it coming from miles away. You are going to be an amazing doctor when you're older. No denying that."

342843

>>342839
"Blindweak ponies. Island burned. Ponies burned."
I look between her and her mother, then roll some dice.

Roll #1 2, 4, 3, 3, 4, 2, 1, 1 = 20

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342844

>>342839
>>342843
"Stronger. Filly stronger."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342845

>>342843
"Seekkill, what's that those dice do, anyway?"

Sho Time [Preacher] 342846

>>342827
Kay
I looked around, tail whipping in irritation. Maybe there was a way out of this place. I trotted around the room, finding a door and opening it, discovering stairs. Well, it wouldn't hurt if I climbed them right? I raced up, curious to see where I was.

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342847

>>342841
>>342842
I blush and remain silent, merely looking away in modesty.
>>342843
>>342844
"What do the dice do, mister Sehkeal?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342848

>>342845
>>342847
"Dice let spirits speak easy."

342849

>>342846
Do I see him?

Roll #1 1 = 1

Felfire [Necromancer] 342850

>>342848
"Where did you get them?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342851

>>342848
I cock a brow amusedly
"Indeed? What do the spirits say about me? Necromancy is always intriguing."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342852

>>342851
Lean close.
"I'm not sure that's necromancy…"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342853

>>342846
I turn to the hoofsteps I hear behind me
"… Hello?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342854

>>342847
"No need to be like that. You should be proud. At least you have something to be proud of."

>>342848
"What sort of spirits?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342855

>>342848
"How do the spirits speak through the dice?"
I tilt my head, curious at what he's doing.

342856

>>342849
Nope. Too busy explaining the dice.

>>342850
"Different dice different place. Aligator dice. Old dice. Old dice special dice."

>>342851
"Spirit talking necromancy? Necromancy spirit talking?"
I sprinkle some more dust in the bag and roll a few of them.

Roll #1 1, 1, 4, 1, 1, 2, 4, 1 = 15

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342857

>>342855
I lean in closer and whisper quietly
"I think he is schizophrenic, sweetie."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342858

>>342851
>>342856
I stare at the dice without saying anything and pour some dust on them. I blow gently on the dust.

>>342854
I ignore her while focusing on the dice.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342859

>>342858
"Hello? Anyone home in there?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342860

>>342852
"Oh… I'm not an expert, so if you say so, miss Felfire."

>>342856
"I do not know. Maybe so."

Tony [Trickster] 342861

>>342859
I follow Emrille

Sho Time [Preacher] 342862

>>342853
I stop in my tracks, looking up at the beautiful unicorn. Sh-She was talking to me? I blushed a little and cowered slightly. "U-Um..Hi there- My names Sho." I stammered, introducing myself. Times like these made me hate being so small. "Does a lovely lady happen to know where I am- I seemed to have lost my sense of direction!" I proclaimed. Shyness be damned! A girl! A girl unicorn was talking to me!

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342863

>>342862
Glance between the two of them.
Rolling not to laugh too loud.
'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

342864

>>342858
>>342859
I keep ignoring her and roll another die from my bag into the pile of dust and dice.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Felfire [Necromancer] 342865

>>342862
"Now just wha…"
Oh. Collar. Another slave.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342866

>>342860
>>342864
I look up at Light Heat.
"You died."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342867

>>342862
"…"
I blink and fully turn around now
"Um… Right. I think you might want to ask somepony else about that. Not exactly at home myself on this ship."
I look at his collar, poor thing. I give him a gentle smile
"My name is Spring Water."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342868

>>342866
"Yes, I did. Though believe it or not, it's a very common ailment around here. Thanks to miss Terrebonne it is not a permanent one however."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342869

>>342857
"Huh? Oh… like that one pony who thought she was a duck back at home?"
>>342858
>>342864
"What are you doing now, mister Sehkeal?"
>>342862
I turn to look at him, perking up in excitement as I notice that he looks to be about my age and walking over to him.
"Hi there! Who are you?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342870

>>342868
"I would try and avoid it if at all possible, though."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342871

>>342868
I carefully collect my dice.
"Terr-eh-bon fluff?"

>>342865
"Terrebonne shadow spirit teacher fluff?"

>>342869
"Spirit talking."

>>342862
I look at him funny. Why didn't that other gryphon eat him?

342872

>>342871
Nod.
"Yes. Terrebonne is fluff shadow teacher.
She showed me how to do this."

Raise dead on Seekkill's shadow.
In this quest, raise dead on shadows can't critfail, so there are no problems.

Roll #1 5 = 5

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342873

>>342871
"You still haven't explained how those spirits work."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342874

>>342870
"That is the masterplan, yes."

>>342871
I cock my head slightly
"The ewe, yes."

>>342872
I take a step back in shock
"My my…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342875

>>342874
"Pretty neat, uh?"
Grin at her, butlet go of the shadow almost immediatly.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342876

>>342869
I nod
"Yes, exactly."

>>342872
I take a step back in apprehension

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342877

>>342872
"Whoa there. Freaky!"

Opal 342878

>>342869
I could barely contain my excitement! Two, count them, two pretty unicorns talking to me at once! I knew where I was now… Heaven. "Hi!" I said happily. My name's Sho, Sho Time! What's yours?"

Tony [Trickster] 342879

>>342872
"Freaky."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342880

>>342873
"Spirits guide dice."

>>342874
"Ew. Fluff is Ew."

>>342872
I propel myself backwards with my wings when I see my shadow move.

>>342875
When it snaps back to my side I star backing away as fast as I can and beating it with my staff.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342881

>>342877
>>342879
"Gee, what's it with all this hate on shadows."
Grumble a bit and cross my hooves on my chest.

Opal 342882

I'm sorry I gtg

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342883

>>342880
"Yeah, but what spirits?"

>>342881
"It's just weird, y'know?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342884

>>342880
Giggle a bit at this, but say nothing.

Light Heart [Warlord] 342885

>>342880
I chuckle softly
"Don't let her hear you say that."

>>342881
"I for one find it intriguing. Not something I'd dabble in myself, but still."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342886

>>342872
"…What are you doing miss Feelfear?"
I slowly back away in fear.
>>342878
"Um… hi Sho Time!"
I smile at him.
"That's a funny name. I'm Summer Seas!"
>>342882
Later!
>>342881
"It's kinda scary…"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342887

>>342883
>>342884
>>342885
I'm too busy trying to hold off my shadow with my staff to speak to anyone.

Tony [Trickster] 342888

>>342881
"Meh. I wouldn't say I hate it. You're just a creepy bird Fellfire, but I can live with that."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342889

>>342887
"Oh no, it's winning, you gotta' run!"
Try to fake a straight face and not giggle it up.
'1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

Felfire [Necromancer] 342890

>>342883
"And wait until you see a shadow trying to eat its owner. That's when it gets weird."
>>342885
"Safest necromancy of all."
>>342886
"Wanna know a secret? The spirit that moves the shadow, he's my best friend. Would never hurt me."
Smile at her.
>>342888
Nod back at my wings enchased in copper.
"Not a bird anymore."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342891

>>342890
"You're friends with a spirit?"
I tilt my head in curiosity.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342892

>>342891
"Kid I think I'm in love with him."
Give Summer dreamy eyes.

Tony [Trickster] 342893

>>342890
"If I couldn't dig, I'd still be a dog."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342894

>>342890
"Yes… I remember some zebra voodoo doctor using the same type of magic to interrogate my shadow once."
I chuckle softly
"Let's just say the result of it was rather… amusing, thanks to my special skills. And he never even realized it either…"

>>342887
I watch him in slight amusement

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342895

>>342892
Why is everypony on this boat so crazy…
"Ahem, right…"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342896

>>342889
I stop running when I see her rolling around on the ground laughing at me. It isn't until then that I put together what Felfire said and what I saw Terrebonne teaching her last night.

I walk over to Felfire and whack her on the back with my staff.
"Not funny."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342897

>>342894
"Strange. That's… Actually not how this works.
I'm not moving the shadow, I'm asking a spirit to move it for me.
So if I did use commune on it, I'd listen from the spirit, not your mind."
>>342896
"Ouch!"
But yeah, keep chuckling a bit.
"Hey I told you there was nothing to worry about. You didn't listen."
>>342893
"Nice one. I'll remember it."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342898

>>342892
"…how are you in love with… a spirit?"
I look at her, deeply confused.
"Is… is the spirit a he or a she? Does the spirit even talk? Does it even look like a pony? I don't… I don't understand at all…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342899

>>342896
Wipe away my tears.
"Ahaha, oh wow. This was great."

>>342898
"Love is a strange thing, Summer."
Flash a grin at Spring

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342900

>>342897
"Show again?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342901

>>342898
Move close to her and lie on the ground, starry eyes looking into hers.
"The spirit is a noble knight from centuries ago, who fought to save the land alongside the princesses themselves.
And now he's dead, and he's helped me once, twice, and I just can't take him off my mind."

Tony [Trickster] 342902

>>342898
Look at the filly with a kind smile.
"Some magic users have strange quirks kid. That's what comes with trying to figure out things they're not supposed to know."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342903

>>342900
Look up at him with a suspicious glare.
"You promise not to freak out again?"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342904

>>342897
I shrug
"I'm not an expert, so it was probably something else. A different spell perhaps. Might be something for you to look out for."

>>342899
"Love… a strange and powerful force indeed."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342905

>>342903
"Promise."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342906

>>342905
"Good. Stand still."
And let's say I take 6 because there is no critfail.

As the shadow comes under my control, it becomes solid, its motions stops and I look at it with loving eyes before making it stand tall in front of Seekkill.
And bonk him on the head with the shadow of his own stick.

"There, that's payback!"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342907

>>342906
I take the hit and poke my shadow with a claw.
"Can shadow kill?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342908

>>342907
"Yep. And I'm working on something to make it even better. A way to mix corpse explosion and shadows."
Grin.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342909

>>342908
"Oh… joy…"
Tug at Summers' tail softly
"Sweetie, I think you should go study…"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342910

>>342908
I scrunch my beak.
"Corpse explosion? Waste."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342911

>>342908
"I'm starting to feel my gun is going to be underkill if I don't keep up."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342912

>>342911
"And you don't even have one right now, miss Emrille. You must be feeling quite naked."
I chuckle softly again

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342913

>>342912
"That's an understatement. If the saddle was more comfortable I would sleep with that gun on my back!"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342914

>>342908
>>342909
"M- Maybe I should…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342915

>>342909
"Relax I'm not blowing up anything around here yet!"
>>342910
Look at him with an understanding expression.
"I KNOW!
I lost such a hot body when I had to explode it!"
>>342911
"Working for the good of you all."
Grin at her.
>>342914
Look sad at the filly.
"What if I let the shadow go?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342916

>>342914
I carefully guide her out of her, back to her books wherever those are
"Good that we can agree…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342917

>>342916
"Bye, Spring!"
Wave goodbye at her.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342918

>>342917
I weakly wave back

Felfire [Necromancer] 342919

>>342916
"Well, bummer."
Deflate and sit in a corner.

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342920

>>342914
"Strong pony. No fear."

>>342915
I nod sagely.
"Cold bodies terrible. Cold bodies rot."

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342921

>>342919
"Hey, at least you are not mini-sized."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342922

>>342920
"Don't be silly silly, with necromancy they don't. Otherwise, you'd never be able to use a minion for more than a few days!"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342923

>>342913
"That you would…"

>>342919
I cock a brow
"You care for those two, miss Felfire?"

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342924

>>342915
"I really need to go study, miss Feelfear. Mister… um, one of the pirates is going to get mad at me if I don't."
>>342916
I follow along, somewhat gloomy that I have several hours of studying ahead of me.

Felfire [Necromancer] 342925

>>342921
"You know, Abilio was about to teach me how to do that… Couldn't quite catch it thou, so no help from me this time."
>>342923
"I like the filly."
>>342924
Nod as she goes.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342926

>>342924
I pat her on the back
"Don't be so sad. I know it's hard sometimes, but studying is important even here. You understand that, right?"

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342927

>>342922
I give a dismissal wave of a claw.
"Minion only good for hunt."

Light Heart [Warlord] 342928

>>342925
"She is quite charming. And skilled. I owe her a few minutes of my life as well…"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342929

>>342925
"Who doesn't? Though I like her mother better."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342930

>>342926
"But it's boorriiiing…"

Tony [Trickster] 342931

>>342929
>>342928
>>342925

I look at Summer and Spring as they leave and turn to the rest.

"Where are they going? Is there a library or something on the ship?"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342932

>>342930
I chuckle knowingly
"I knoooooow. But everypony has to go through this kind of stuff. I did too."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342933

>>342927
Trot beside him giving huge bedroom eyes, speaking in a sensual voice.
Roll for effect.
'1d10'
"Minions good for bed~"
>>342929
Neigh at this.
"You and Chip should open an hunting association.."
>>342930
"Ush now.
How do you think we survived out there? Because we study.
Now go and learn to be a better doctor!"

Roll #1 8 = 8

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342934

>>342933
I tilt my head.
"Huh? Chip likes Spring too?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342935

>>342934
"Yeeeeeah, totally what I meant."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342936

>>342932
Why'd ya log off of steam?
"Will you help me study?"
>>342933
"But it's all… boring stuff! Not like medical magic! Just… grammar and logic and all that boring stuff…"

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342937

>>342936
I nod
"Yes sweetie. I'll be at your side."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342938

>>342936
"Pff, if I told you Abilio has me do you'd want to crawl out of your skin in boredom.
But you do it to learn important stuff later."

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342939

>>342933
"Sleep on minion? Why not nest?"

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342940

>>342935
"…Wait a second. You don't mean…"

Light Heart [Warlord] 342941

>>342931
I shrug
"Who knows? I sure don't."

>>342934
I chuckle
"Looks like you have competition, miss Emrille."

Felfire [Necromancer] 342942

>>342940
Shrug.
>>342939
"Sleeping with minion… I'm talking sweet, passionate moments of self-induced bliss, with sweat running down your body and a bunch of old bones doing in and out and in and out…"
Demostrate with matching motions up and down.
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

Felfire [Necromancer] 342943

>>342942
THIS ASSUMING THE TWO UNICORNS ARE NOT HERE ANYMORE!

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342944

>>342942
>>342941
"… I get it now. Yeah. It was obvious, really."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342945

>>342937
"Okay."
I set off back towards the cell.
>>342938
"I don't want to crawl out of my skin… that sounds really painful."
I shiver.

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342946

>>342943
We are long gone

Seekkill [Dark Hunter] 342947

>>342942
I sit down and look at Emrille.
"What?"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342948

>>342944
"Everyone has his fix, I guess. He's mostly harmless thou."

Summer Seas [Cleric] 342949

>>342945
>>342946
…But I responded after the fact!
>>342942
>>342943
I peek back in after making my response.
"…What are you doing, miss Feelfear?"

Tony [Trickster] 342950

>>342942
I shake my head.
"Creepy little bird."

Spring Water [Charlatan] 342951

>>342949
But I took you along, so we are
Drag her away
"No more excuses, Summer…"

Felfire [Necromancer] 342952

>>342949
Look surprised as she comes back.
"…Stretching?"
Give a nervous smile.

Emrille [Gunslinger] 342953

>>342947
"I think she means 'boning' corpses, if you catch my drift."

>>342948
"Yeah. I won't let him though. I'll get to Spring first, and I know it."
