No.84396

>>84388
It swings open, revealing another large room.
This one's much more dimly lit.
The party steps on an unsteady wooden platform over what seems like nothing.
In the middle of a room is a very narrow pathway through to the other side.
On this walkway stands a shadow.

"Are you ready to meet my acrobat?"

No.84397

>>84389

No.84428

>>84412
The shadow takes to the air and deftly avoids your shot.
>>84403
>>84400
Just as he's about to lunge at Aurelia, Card's shot manages to graze him, making him drop on the path.
He quickly recovers however.

He pulls out a pistol of his own.
"You might want to step off that wonky thing."
He then points his pistol below the wooden platform and destroys the support holding it up, leaving only his narrow trapeze-like walkway on the air.
"Don't worry about falling down though, you'll only land in the cells in the castle's dungeon."

If he manages to drop you down, you'll be dropped into the castle's dungeons and will have to find your own way out.
The walkway is so narrow that only one pony can combat the acrobat at a time; Pegasi are inherently agile and as such can suffer two critical fails before falling down. Others will fall down should they be rendered helpless at all.

As you quickly duck under the gate, it suddenly stops, letting out a sudden, high-pitched screeching sound.
Then, with a thundering crash, the chains operating the gate snap, and the iron monstrosity comes tumbling down, leaving only a small gap, maybe able to fit a foal, on the gateway.
Some bricks have come loose on the surrounding wall.

And though it may soon no longer be sung in devoted praise, song will never leave me so long as I live. I walked in darkness for a while. Saw death and stared it down. Watched horrors beyond reason swarm those who I cared for. Fought for my life, for my hope, for my redemption. And even heard her voice once more. But in the end… it was not quite enough.

…Do you still fancy that duel you so often referred to? I doubt our paths will remain intertwined for long. Best we leave no loose ends."

"…Here's to you, all who I saw die
Let this be it, my final goodbye
Let this be my final song
Just one last time, saiyonara, so long.

Here's to you, Draven, old foe
I am so sorry for all your woe
I'm sorry that you had to depart
But rest now, forever, here in my heart.

Here's to you, every friend I now lose
I hope you remember me for more than a short fuse
It lasted long, and it was great
But all things must end, if not soon, then late.

And here's to you, Pinkie, light of joy
You sent me through hell on some senseless ploy
But perhaps it was all to show I but needed a small nudge
And for your deeds I will hold no grudge…

And here's to you all, Neith, Card Trick, and Ali my friend
Aurelia and Buttermilk, you stuck with me to the end
And here I now stand, alone in the sun
As I sing farewell to Trotheim, for my journey has but begun~"
