>>316534You go in to the hall early and nab a good seat
>>316535>>316537>>316543You join the others in the Great Hall to listen to the speakers.
First up is what looks like a councilor of sorts
"Welcome all. I will keep this brief for now, as I'm sure you're all eager to get to your dorms and to meet your new companions.
But first, our very own Battlemaster has agreed to say a few words on behalf of the faculty."
A large, rough looking pony steps up
"Good day all of you. My job is to make sure you will not flinch when you stare hell itself in the eye. To ensure when you march to battle the unholy legions, you will not even bat an eye. To make the horrors of war so mundane and dull to you you will YAWN as you cleave apart your foes! For believe me it takes more guts to turn back and run with me in the lines than it takes to kick Tirek himself in his thorny cock! DISMI-"
The councilor hurries to shoo him off the stage
"Well, thank you for that. Now you m-"
He falls silent, then quickly bows and backs away.
A third pony steps on stage. Gaunt, and dressed mostly in dark, well kept and highly ornate robes. His eyes are as pale as his coat, and his thin beard as ethereal as his complexion.
"I am the headmaster. I do not usually greet new students, but I feel there are some among you who I will be seeing again. Some, who have been touched.
Marked. I will see to it that when the time comes, my hunches will be proven true or false. Keep that in mind you two."
He looks at the other speakers, then glances back at the students
"You will all serve well. I know you will. But some will serve better than others. And a few… far more than the others put together."
He leaves in silence.
After a moment the councilor finishes up
"Please report to the scribes at the exits for your dormitory keys."
