Troubled times have befallen your homeland, and the time to give a little something back to your kind lord Nobleridge has come.
For nearly two decade she has watched over this province, spending his days seeing to it that the land and all in it prosper as his father did before him. But his methods have not pleased all, and he has made enemies all the same as allies.

Now, swathes of villagers have gone missing in the outer towns and villages, and Nobleridge has called YOU to meet him and hear his plight.

You have arrived to his estate, a magnificent keep on a cliff overlooking the sea. The guards have granted you passage, and a few are watching over you before the Lord himself arrives to speak to you.
Spend this time well, heroes-to-be.

398720

Walk along with a joyful attitude, playing something on my flute.
Inspire.

>>398716
I look around at my companions.
"Quite a few of us Capras here. I am glad our king knows our value."

398723

>>398716
So where are we? In some sort of a hall? In the yard? A broom closet?

>>398721
"I agree. Yah can't beat an honest Capra."

398724

>>398721
"You beeeeeet."

398726

>>398716
Let's just wait for now then, flipping through my book of prayers and occasionally glancing over to the party.

398732

>>398723
Seems like a big room inside the keep. Likely used for official meet-and-greets and such

Please put your race next to your class. It will help me write descriptions. Thank you.

398733

watch the guards carefullly, and mark down how many there are

398734

>>398732
Right. Sorry.
>>398726
"Whatcha readin' there, lass?"

398735

>>398732
How many guards are there?

398739

>>398733
>>398735
Two guards are keeping watch by a door. It is the door you did not come in through.
There is also a window on the wall, but no guards are keeping an eye on it.

398740

>>398716
So is this how nobles decorate their spaces? Look around the room, what does it look like?

398742

>>398739
Uhhh! Go to the window and look out of it!

"Prayers."

398745

I nod.
"Yeah, this is gathering of the finest sort I presume."

398748

I take out my claymore and polish it with a rag.

"Kri"

398753

>>398748
I give her a dull look
"The Celestial, of course. What do I look like, some kind of heathen?"

398754

>>398739
I look around the room. What sort of valuables are there? I look with my eyes, not my hands.

I shrug.
"I didn't mean to offend ya."

I wave.
"Bonnie!"

398758

>>398752
I look at him.
"Kri? Thats your name I presume?"

398759

>>398752
Paying little mind as I look out the windows, answer absently.
"Copricarnius the great."

398761

>>398742
A lovely view of the sea. It is a calm, sunny day.
>>398740
Some tapestries hang on the walls, and there are seats arranged around the room for guests to rest their legs.
There is also a painting of lord Noblewreath with his wife and daughter.
>>398754
The guards give you a sharp look
"Don't try anything."

398762

>>398752
I don't bother looking up at that.
"Sister Althea."

398763

>>398761
I give him a big smile.
"Just admiring the decor, my good sir."

398764

>>398758
"Yess"

398765

>>398761
How boring.
Climb the window instead and find a nice place to hang down on the roof.

"I've never seen one of you in real life before. Can you feel with these or are they like horns?"

398769

>>398761
I look at the guards.
"We are not trying anything, well not now I suppose."

>>398764
"Kri…. what an odd name."
I extend my hand.
"My name is Lily."

398770

>>398761
Art! How interesting. I'll float on over and look at the painting in more detail. How do the two of them look?

398772

>>398768
I look on with interest.
"Ya know, I always wondered the same thing…"

398777

>>398768
"Dull feel'ng, I c'n still feel thogh"

398780

>>398763
"Hrm. It is nice and tasteful… I agree."
>>398765
You slip and fall on your goat ass on the floor like an idiot
>>398770
Lord Nobleridge is not an old man by any extent, though the white hairs on the painting imply his work holds great stress.
Lady Nobleridge seems to be a fair, young woman, most likely younger than her husband.
The daughter looks like she may be a teenager at best. She has her father's eyes.

398785

>>398770
>>398780
"Admiring our lord?"

398790

>>398777

I cock a brow and point at the lord on the painting.
"The man himself."

398803

>>398794
"Eh, s'pose it's just a rumor. Ya sounded like ya were talking from inside a helmet there."

398805

>>398796
"Tut tut, my friend. If you have no experience these slick floors can be troublesome for your hooves. Let me lead you to a chair."

398806

>>398799
"The man?"
Look back at the painting.
Then the other is that one's…mate."

398807

>>398796
That seems to be beyond your capabilities. Luckily you get aid from >>398791 and stand back up. Butterhooves.

Just in time too. The guards announce Lord Nobleridge, and he enters the room.
He is a humen in his mid thirties, possibly early forties. Clad in rich clothing, with slight white streaks in his otherwise dark hair, and followed by an armoured Myrmid.

398810

>>398803

'Curiosity kills more capra than explosions and in-fighting."
>>398807

398812

>>398806
"The lady, yes. And his daughter. I take it you don't exactly have much experience with humens."

>>398807
I grumble and bow as he enters.

398816

>>398810
My mouth makes an 'o' when I see the plates move.
>>398807
I bow a bit.

398821

>>398810
My eyes widen as you pull back your face plates.
"That is fascinating. Can you do that with all of your plates?"

398826

>>398812
"No. I am new to experiences with you flesh ones."

>>398807
Turn to face the lord as he enters, then stare captivated as the myrmid opens its face plates.

398827

>>398821
"In a fashion"

398832

>>398827
"So ya don't need any armour either?"

398833

398841

>>398833
"Oh don't grumble at me like that. Simply remember to return the favor and be more careful in the future."
I sit you down in the chair and, if the humen chair is big enough, sit down in it too and clap after you finish your tune.
"That was marvelous!"

>>398827
"Could you show us?"

398843

>>398833
He seems surprised, but in a most pleasant fashion.
>>398810
>>398812
>>398816
>>398819
>>398821
>>398826
The lord opens his arms in a pleased gesture
"Ah, it pleases me greatly to have you here. I only wish it could have been a happier occasion.
I fear dark times loom ahead. My scouts tell me that there have been many kidnappings among the outer villages and towns of my province, and that neighboring lords are speaking ill of me for it.
Most recently, I have gained news that kidnappings have happened in… two places?"
The myrmid nods
"Yes, my lord. In the coastal fisher village off the bay, and in a few of the small villages near the mountains."
>>398840
You wouldn't know a myrmid's back from their front.

398847

>>398843
"Which is closer?"

>>398840
openmy mouth to speak

>>398841
"Not. Right. Now."

398849

>>398826
"Oh boy, are you in for an experience."

>>398843
"Hmph, I know a man who knows a woman who's sister has disappeared."

398850

>>398843
Continue to listen to whatever the lord has to say.

398853

>>398843
I sit still and pay attention to him.

398855

>>398843
"Not from the Capra village I trust?"

398858

>>398841
"Well of course it is, I'm The Great!"
>>398843
"This is gonna make for a great ballad!"

398862

>>398847
"They are both roughly the same way away. Though the fisher town is a little closer, it also has some islands nearby that may be worth investigating."
>>398849
"How dreadful. We will get to the bottom of this."
>>398855
"As far as we know, no. It remains tucked away safely in the mountain forest."

398865

>>398862
"Thank you"
turn and walk towards the door out, but stop
"I do hope We'll get paid for this."

398868

>>398862
"I am glad my hometown remains safe, my liege. With the number of my fellow Capra in this group perhaps it would be best if we were dispatched to the mountain towns?"

398869

>>398862
"Ech, I hate water. It makes my coat all soggy and smelly. I vote we visit the mountains."

398870

>>398862
"Yes, we will."

398873

>>398869
"Totally.
Mountain smells so much better!"

398877

>>398865
"Your reward will match your efforts."
>>398869
>>398873
"The path to the mountains lies due northeast of here. The village is in the foothills. Speak to the locals and see what you can find out."

398878

>>398869
"I agree. I do not like being wet."

398882

>>398862
"Why have you summoned us here? To keep us aware of the situation and spread the word of the incident and the kidnappings?" I stare at the lord.

398883

>>398877
pull the plates back over my face
"Gut"
and head out of the keep

398887

>>398877
"As you wish. Any last words of advice?"

398888

>>398878
"Did that coat just talk to me?"
>>398877
"Thank ye, my lord."
>>398883
"Oi! Wait fer us!"
I rush out of the keep.

398890

>>398877
I hop out of the chair and bow deeply.
"We shall do so, my lord."
I stand and walk towards the exit.
"Come, my companions! Onwards towards heroics, adventure, and rewards!'

398893

>>398888
"Being wet weighs me down. I move much slower"
I peer at her for a second before following the myrmid outside.

398898

>>398882
"To update you on the current situation. And to keep myself in the loop of things.
Once you know more, return here so we can discuss a plan of action."
>>398887
"Try not to incite needless panic."
>>398883
>>398888
>>398893
>>398890
And off you go.
You can see the mountains in the distance.
Fast travel? Or RP while walking?

398901

>>398898
I'm good with walking.

398903

>>398898
I nod to the lord and follow the rest of the group.

398904

>>398898
Walking works.
>>398893
"I've never seen one of you before."

398905

>>398898
Let's walk some. We gotta know each other.

And sing a song for travels!

Fast travel

398907

>>398898
I look around at the other party members.
"Now that we are on the road, perhaps we can get to know each other better? My name is Tityroi, the son of two Capras from a foreign land that settled in the kingdom's Capra town."

398908

>>398898
"We'll do our best."

"I am aeon. Others call me Saiduk. What are you?"

398912

>>398907
I flick my ears.
"Name's Lily, some sort of a free agent… of sort."

398913

>>398907
Grin and talk with emphasis.
"I'm Copricarnius The Great, mightiest bard and songwriter of the land! You know legends of the Heroes?
I wrote them!"

>>398907
"g'day to you too, I'm Bonnie, the daughter of McLeod, the one."

398925

>>398912
"Lily. A wonderful name for a capra with a wonderful sense of fashion."

Ready.

398938

>>398918
>>398932
"Capra. Small, active folk known for their outgoing lifestyle. There are many of you here."

You guys are all no fun at all.

#ready

398945

>>398932
I give him a look of doubt and smile.
"Everyone says that. Good to know someone likes it."

>>398938
"There are many of us, well its a capra settlement."

398946

>>398938
I'm listening to you assholes talk and whatnot. I don't know why you're not having fun with each other along the way

398948

You arrive to the mountain village.
It isn't a big place. From the looks of it maybe a few dozen people live here. It has been built along the foothills of the mountain, and you can see a temple up higher, with a small winding path leading up to it.
The houses are connected with gravel paths and stairs to make traversing the hills easier. There are also some crops being grown here, mostly orchards.
Some people are working picking fruit from a nearby bunch of trees, occasionally glancing up at the mountain.

398949

>>398945
"So you settle together?"

398950

>>398948
seeing them glance at the mountain, that's the first place I head

398951

>>398938
What is that supposed to mean?

>>398945
"Where did you find those leggings? I have never found any that were not unsightly, uncomfortable, or far too warm for climate."

>>398948
"Shall we check the temple or the farms first?"

>>398949
"Like kinds stick together."

398954

>>398948
Time to show off.

Go nearby said people and flash out a grin.
"Hey there. In need of some of the best entertainment around?"

398957

>>398950
"Can you do that trick with your plates again?"
>>398949
"It gives a sense of security."
>>398951
>>398948
"Maybe we should head up to the temple."

398958

>>398948
"I'm going to take a look at the temple. Try not to set anything on fire."
Go to the temple!

398960

>>398957
"Wht f'r?"

398963

>>398949
"Perhaps?."

>>398951
"I made them, its a bit comfortable specially in this climate."

>>398948
"So this is the place huh?" I look around.

398964

>>398951
"Like kinds? What do you mean?"

>>398957
"We do not usually settle with our own kind…"

I'll head to the temple as well.

398965

>>398960
"It's neat!"
>>398964
"Why not? I'm sure you miss yer kind every once in a while!"

398967

>>398957
"I agree. Copricarnius seems to have the locals in had."

>>398963
"Would you make a pair for me once I have something to pay you with? It is so difficult to find a skilled tailor back home"

>>398964
"Members of the same race."

398968

>>398965
pull some plates back to reveal my mouth
"Now is not the time. When we are finished with this task, then maybe."

398971

>>398950
It's quite a steep climb.
Want to start aimlessly making your way up?
>>398954
They glance at you, then look back to their work, then quickly back to you again
"What the heck are you?"
>>398951
>>398957
>>398958
There is a path up to the temple.
Take it?

398973

>>398971
"Guys? The temple?"
I say we take it.

398976

>>398948
Yes please.

398978

>>398971
No, take that small path up.

398979

>>398971
Hop back to give them the whole view.
"Why, I'm just the most legendary bard of the land, let me show you!"
Entertain.

Roll #1 4 + 2 = 6

398980

>>398965
"I shouldn't go home until I learn as much as I can."

>>398967
"But you live on humen land."

398981

>>398973
"Yes, the temple."

>>398971
I start climbing.

398984

>>398978
"We should stick together!"

398987

>>398980
"I live in a Capra town. Perhaps you can visit once we are done with this business?"

398988

>>398984
"Right"

398989

>>398987
"I would like that."

398990

>>398967
I give him an odd look.
"Really now? I can make one, but…. it would really look funny to you if you wear one."

I then look around.
"Can you remind me again why we are here in this place?"

398991

>>398984
"Of course, we mustn't lose track of each other after all." I start up the path.

398993

>>398979
"Huh. Well ain't that… quite a something"
"Look, more of them!"
"…are they going to the temple?"
>>398991
>>398981
>>398973
>>398976
>>398978
The path is well maintained and easy to traverse. In no time at all you reach the temple. By the looks of it, it is quite old, and rather small. Closer to a glorified shrine and a house than anything else. You can hear music inside, and the door is open.

398995

>>398993
slowly make my way in, and look for whoever is making that music

398996

>>398993
Walk inside and see what's what?
"Brothers? Sisters?"

398998

>>398993
Who is the temple dedicated too?

398999

>>398993
Frown.
What an undisciplined audience!
"Please my fair crowd, just focus! Has anything worthy of being turned into a song in here?
Your name might even find its way in~"

399000

>>398990
"Just the leggings, not that little green number you are wearing. We can brainstorm about the design later."

>>398993
I walk inside and try to take care to not let my hooves make too much noise on the floor.

399002

>>398993
I enter the hall. Obviously this is a place of song and drink!

399003

>>398993
Float inside. What does that music sound like?

399013

>>398998
The Celestial from the looks of it.
A large statue of it stands in the middle of the temple interior, watching both ways.
>>398999
"Sorry pal, with all the demons up in the mountain and all we really ain't in the mood for song and dance."
"The crops might go bad if we don't pick them in a hurry but almost all of our able workers have been taken my the night."
>>399003
It is soft and mournful, yet clearly designed to instil hope in a dark time.
>>399002
>>399000
>>398995
>>398996
A single old priest is playing music near an altar. He does not react to you entering.

399014

>>399000
I smile "If you're going to have green leggings you could consider a nice bit of green ribbon to go in your hair, or maybe a marvelous Balmoral with a green tuft on top? "

399016

>>399013
pull back my face plates
"Priest"

399019

>>399000
"Yes we will do that." I smile.as I follow Tityroi

>>399013
I called out to the priest.
"Hey! Nice music your making there."

399020

>>399013
"Oh my, this is so serious.
I shall sing you the song of the harvest of my people!"

Then, rejoin the others at the temple.

"Hey! Old man!"

399024

>>399013

399027

>>399016
>>399019
>>399021
>>399022
He stops playing and turns around. One of his eyes is grey and blind, but the other sharply follows you around.
"You have come at a dark time. Demons from the mountain have come to claim us…"
>>399024
His robes are old and traditional, but well kept, even if the colours have faded over time.

399030

>>399027
"Demons from the mountains? What do you mean?"

399032

>>399027

399037

>>399036
"No, correction. You are here to destroy the demons, I'm here to sing about you destroying the demons!"
Flash a smile and do that little think with my hands pointing at her with my index as my thumbs point up and the rest of my fingers are closed.
It's totally gonna catch on.

399040

>>399027
"So we've heard, simply dreadful. Taking away someone's love in the middle of the night. Tell us what you can about these demons, please."

399041

>>399014

"Green leggings? No non no no no, they would match my vest. Pairing that shade of green with my vest would be horrible. A capra with an eye for fashion like yours should know that."

"I am glad to hear it."

>>399036
"You should put on some clothes little lady…"

Cock my head extension a bit.
"Why do they do this?"

"I'm not going to start fighting big scary demons! I mean look at me!"
He's not exactly what you'd call a manly man.
His feet probably hurt.
He's rather be home playing role playing games.
But, well, goat tits are fine too.
>>399151
>>399153
"Soldiers came by the other day. Asked us not to climb the mountain just to be sure. So I think that'd be a place to start."
>>399154
"Hidden… I doubt it. Fast, certainly. Plenty of old paths lead up there. But the orchards up there were abandoned years ago after most of the plants died from some disease they got.
Not that anyone really minded. It was a pain to carry fruit down the hill."
>>399160
"Well he was the elder one of us. Strong and hardworking, if a little slow in the head. Taught me a lot after our parents passed away. Thanks to him I can still keep work up… to a degree."

"Anything? And where'd the bug go?"

399178

>>399177

399179

>>399170
"Your priest said they took the strongest ones first. Was your brother one of those?"

399180

They don't really have much to call an inn here.
It's more of a small tavern with a few spare rooms.
>>399175
"Sometimes they even charge down the mountain at day, screaming and laughing, cutting down those who resist and dragging off the others."

399182

>>399170
"No surviviors? odd."
I look around.
"So who's your leader in this town? Is it the blind priest or someone else?"

399183

399188

>>399178
I sigh.
"Do we have a plan?"

"Hear my words, people of town name here!
You are under the terrible menace of monsters and demons from far beyond your reach, hope is bleak and future is grim!
No force can stand in their way, your men are running thin on strength and your women are too afraid to walk at night!"

"A humen joins the heroes, of holy virtue and might, she carries the will of the sun!
Another is the hero of love, the cleric for all your pains. Can you believe that's not all?"

The barmaid looks back in
"Anything you need from me?"

399708

>>399690
>>399703
"Yes, something to drink for the heroes."

>>399706
I look around for the shampoo.

399709

>>399706
"I could use some help washing my…clothing."

399710

>>399706
"Of course sweetie."
Smirk at her.
"A big, large mug."
Sound a sweet tune.

I get up and walk around. What's Kri doing?

399714

>>399709
"Hop in, friend. I'm sure they have a wash brush around her somewhere."

>>399710
I bob my head along with the music.
"You play beautifully. I have never heard anyone with such a skilled mouth."

399718

>>399714
Wave the flute around.
"It's all in how you blow on it!"
>>399709
"Come on in. I'm sure the water will take care of that!"

399719

>>399714
"But I don't have a body like you. My skin needs cleaning."

399722

>>399705
"Well, there were these guys…
And tall, slender things. They had the same kind of faces. Only theirs were on the back. And long, strange limbs.
Then there were huge ones! But we only ever saw a few. Or perhaps it was only one, and we mistook it for many. But it was still huge! Tore a house right down!
And then there is the Demon Lord… a flying, horrible thing that carried off some of our fairest ladies on dark, leathery wings."
>>399708
>>399710
"Drinks coming right up."
She leaves for a moment, then returns with some frothing mugs
"On the house. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. We owe you big time."

399725

>>399722
… Is the priest around the temple or is he still in town?

399727

>>399722
Look at her. Then over at Tityroi. Then back at her with a flat expression.
"Nah, I'm good."
>>399719
"We can scrub ya if it's so important."

399734

>>399718
"I must say, you blow very well. How long have you been honing your skills?"

>>399719
"And? Hop in and we can scrub you. Keep your skin on."

>>399722
"If you could be a dear and point out the shampoo? the soap you humens like so much doesn't work to well on fur, and simply soaking won't get all this blood out."

399735

>>399722
Neh. I go and knock on Kri's door.

399738

>>399725
He went back to his temple.
He can be talked to there.
>>399734
>>399727
She tosses you a bottle of shampoo
"I'll just leave you to it then."

399739

>>399735
open my door
"Yes?"

399741

>>399727
>>399734
"I don't like being wet though…it makes me slow and heavy. You can wash it if I can borrow something else to shape myself until it is clean and mended."

399742

>>399738
Well I went back there too
"Father?"

399743

>>399722
I shudder imagining the sights of these monstrosities.

………
I then pointed my finger on one of them and give them the stare.
"If you are lying to me about this demon business and I find out that they are just guys in mask, I will personally go back in this quiet town and plant my fist to your face got it?"

399744

>>399739
"Whay do Myrmidons do for fun? I never see you socialize with the others."

399750

>>399741
"Can't you just use an armor to live in? No need to wash it that way."
>>399734
"Long enough. Is good to travel around a lot, you meet many valiant heroes who can teach you much about music, and the world!
You for istance, what's your story?"

399751

>>399744
"Myrmidons are just as social as any other race, I am not a prime example of this fact. I put my profession before the rest of my life."

walk back into my room but leave th door open

399752

>>399743
"Well they looked like demons!"
>>399742
"yes, child?"

399753

>>399750
"Armor takes much longer to fix though."

399755

>>399751
I peer into the room.
"What exactly is your profession? Are you a mercenary? We don't see many o' your kind around here."

399756

399758

How many people do we have?
Ready.

399759

>>399752
I hang my head
"I came to apologize for my previous actions. I just don't know what overcame me."

399763

>>399738
"Thank you, miss. Sleep well."

>>399741
"I doubt my vest would be very good. Maybe you could use a pile of towels?"

>>399750
"I was born to foreign parents that settled in the local capra village. I grew up with a keen eye for fashionable clothing, valuable items, and well-to-do people. As a kid I found a teacher and, as it turns out, had a knack for a simple magic spell."
I charge my horns slightly and let them glow for a few seconds before letting the charge dissipate.
"That is all he taught me, though."

399765

>>399756
With that, I head to the tavern and sleep down stairs in a corner.

I'm here

399766

>>399755
"Yes. I am one of two specialists who deal in melee and ranged fighting. But this recent string of events has caused me to have a personal stake in the matter"

Sure, I'll just say it was mended and cleaned then.

I enter the room and sit down on a chair or the bed if there are no chairs.

399774

>>399753
"Doesn't it last more and break less, too?"
>>399763
"The misterious son of a long-lost lineage, whose keen mind allowed him to master the secrets of a dark and unfathomable magic, in search of his wayward teacher!"
Chuckle a bit.
"I can already hear the crowd cheering."

399779

>>399770
"Well… I still may have overdid it a smidge, no?"

399781

>>399756
I guess.

>>399774
"No, he still lives in town."
I pick up the bottle of shampoo.
"Saiduk seems unwilling to join us, so shall we scrub each other instead?"

399784

>>399772
"relative of mine, taken like the others in their village."

"What is your reason for joining this motley band?"

399786

>>399781
Shrug.
"Never gonna refuse some fresh shampoo. Wanna go first?"

399787

>>399779
"You did.
But so long as that violent lust does not overtake your mind, you will be no more evil for it."

399789

>>399787
"… Right. Thank you, father."

399792

>>399784
"I'm trying to prove my worth as a daughter of McLeod. My Grandfather lead my clan to victory against our rivals! He could defeat hundreds of enemies in battle. I couldn't stay home when I heard something like this was happening."

>>399786
"Of course. Turn around."
I scrub you down, but stay away from anywhere too indecent.
"Your turn."

399798

>>399774
"It's sometimes harder to get around in."

399799

>>399789
"Was that all you needed of me?"

399801

>>399792
"…admirable."

399804

>>399799
"Yes. I'll rest now so I'm fit for tomorrow. Good night."
Go do just that.

399805

>>399798
"Ah, I see.
Want to take over my herb pounch?"
Laugh at that.
"It might make you feel a bit floaty…"

399807

>>399801
"It is, innit?"
I lean closer
"Truth be told, I just didn't want to stay home and do my father's and brother's dishes."
I wiggle my legs a bit.
"So who's your friend? I saw another Myrm outside when we were fighting."

399810

>>399805
"I don't think that would work…it wouldn't let me interact with things very well."

399811

>>399798

399815

"I will build my tower! As soon as I get my own achievements. I really learned to fence when I was the practice target of my brothers."
I wiggle my tail.
"Is she your wife?"

Do that, then.

399823

"Could you do that thing with your armor plates again?"

I'll just skip ahead to the morning.

"I wonder if the mental state of those bandits was linked to the masks."

399864

Keep RPing if you wish, but the plot moves along as well.
IT IS EARLY AS DICK NEXT MORNING
YOU ARE OUT OF BED
THE SUN WILL BEGIN TO RISE SOON

You should head up the mountain path and into the woods.
The old priest and flower merchant give you a few final pointers
"There are another two old shrines up the mountain, but they were long since abandoned. One is about halfway up. The other is at the summit."
"My father told me there was also a small logging camp somewhere up there where he and his workers used to rest when cutting the trees. Not that anyone uses it any more, but it might provide a good resting spot."

399867

>>399864
"Do you think they're coming from the summit rather than from inside the mountain? There aren't any caves?"

405524

>>405502
What is going on?

405526

>>405508
Well technically it's early as shit in the morning.
You arrive to the mountaintop lumber camp. Several masked and unmasked bandits are sleeping around the benches, sheds and near campfires.
>>405513
"Hm, well, I guess my latest batch of moonshine was a little undercooked. Good thing I don't like the stuff myself."
His grip becomes more demanding
"Now now. Don't run off. You don't want me to call for the sentries or anything, do you?
Tell you what… you make this worth my while and I'll let you run along. You seem nice enough."
he puts his other hand on your hip
>>405516
You can't think of a good melody, and end up just muttering words that rhyme with find.

405527

>>405508
"why not children, pebbles or seedlings? What's in a name really, what matters is the feeling you have for them"

405528

>>405524
The others found a female Hork, and are headed to the lumber camp.

405530

>>405526
Oh my. Look at this.
So many many potential verses…
Turn to the others.
"Should we wake them up?"

405531

>>405530
"I say we kill them and leave a few alive to answer questions."

405532

>>405528
Damn capras

continue to the camp, and try to not make much sound '1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

405534

>>405530
I shake my head at that.

405535

>>405532
Screaming "WAIT FOR ME GUISE" is not exactly the most silent approach.
Party, roll to dodge.
Lowest roll is the one he blindly slams into.

405536

>>405526
Oh I thought it was the party's camp, ignore my last post

Keep still and see what the party does.

405537

>>405535
'1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

405538

>>405531
>>405534
"Okaaaay…"
>>405535
Capras always land on their hooves.
'1d10+1'

Roll #1 6 + 1 = 7

405539

>>405526
Stand stiff for a moment and shiver.
"W.. what do you want from me?"

405540

>>405535
[1d10]

Roll #1 6 = 6

405541

>>405540
Should be seven.

405542

>>405539
"I don't think that's too hard for you to figure out. Now are you going to make trouble?"

405543

>>405535
Capras…

Roll #1 7 = 7

405544

>>405543
That's a Myrmid.

405545

>>405535
'1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

405546

>>405542
I whimper.
Look around, where am I and can I escape without a fuzz or the guards waking up if I kick him in the balls.
'1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

405548

>>405544
It's hard to see

405550

>>405546
Could go either way.
"Heh… I like it when you sound like that."
He grabs you firmly by the chest and lifts you in the air a bit
"Nice and soft, aren't you…"
>>405545
INCOMING
A myrmid crotch plate slams into your face, and moments later the whole bony thing falls on top of you.
Welcome back to the party, Kri.

405552

>>405550
I seriously hope we didn't wake up anyone…
"I'm not gonna write about this.."

405554

>>405550
"I had no idea you felt that strongly about me, Kri!"
Try to get up
'1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

405565

>>405550
"You capras need to be taller"
get up '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

405567

>>405550
I just slack from his grasp and look away.
"Please just let me go…. "

405568

>>405552
>>405554
>>405565
"Are we going to kill these cultists or stand around talking?"

405569

>>405565
"I quite like my size, thank you! Now, where is that last capra?"

405572

>>405568
"We could just sneak past them.
Killing someone in his sleep doesn't make for a great song."

405574

>>405568
>>405572
"Let's try to speak past them"

405576

>>405572
"Would you rather be stabbed in the back after they wake up?"

405578

>>405576
"Like they could catch any one of us."
Smirk at him.

405579

>>405552
>>405568
>>405572
"If we want to preserve them, the least we should do is strip them of arms."

How many enemies?

405581

>>405567
"I don't want to hurt you, Red. I'm just lonely…"
Rolling to have a heart
'1d10'
>>405579
Nearby, a group of '1d5' are sleeping.
The whole camp is quite large though. Probably dozens of bandits. A major alert might prove dangerous.

Roll #1 8 = 8 / Roll #2 1 = 1

405583

>>405581
>>405567
He loosens his grip and instead brings you in for a hug
"Sorry if I scared you."

405585

>>405581
I look around at all the bandits.
"Maybe we should free the hostages first after all."

405586

>>405579
>>405578
"I say we slay them all! A true test of our meddle!"

405591

>>405585
>>405586
"No. Hostage rescue comes first, and we must be hasty in dealing with whatever bandits there are here to get to them."

1/5 are sleeping?

405592

>>405586
"I say we let them sleep over their hangovers and bad sex."
>>405581
Right.
Tiptoe around him and check the rest of the camp.
'1d10+1'

Roll #1 4 + 1 = 5

405593

>>405581
>>405583
I smiled inside.
"W… would you let me go?" I ask nervously.

405595

>>405591
"Fine."
I try to walk up to the prisoners without waking anyone up.
'1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

405598

>>405591
"Come on, Nati. Step lightly."
I scramble around again so that I am sitting on your shoulder.

405600

>>405598
"Fine. Less feet on the ground…"

Carefully get to the hostages, if I can see them. Can I see them?

405602

>>405591
There is just one guy here.
He is alone.
>>405592
It smells of cool food and cheap moonshine in here. You can find at least
'1d20+10' bandits asleep around the camp
>>405593
"I guess you wouldn't want to so anything for me in exchange would you?"
>>405595
>>405600
There is a cage outside, with a pair of humens in it.
The caves where the other prisoners are seem to be better guarded.

Roll #1 19 + 10 = 29

405606

>>405602
Be. I. Damned.
Eyes wide, wave around my arms franctically to the others, opening and closing my ten fingers 3 times in a row.

Look if anyone is awake from here.
'1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

405608

>>405602
I approach the cage. Are they awake?

405609

>>405602
I stealth my way off her back and over to the humen cage.
"Stay quiet, we are getting you two out."
[1d10]

Roll #1 4 = 4

405613

>>405606
My eyes widen, and I stay back. I try to motion for you to come back

405615

>>405606
Nope.
They are all sound asleep out here. A half-empty jug of moonshine nearby speaks volumes as to why. It smells yeasty and terrible.
>>405608
They seem to be sleeping uncomfortably, leaning on the bars
>>405609
They didn't hear you…

405617

>>405613
Okay…
Let's do this slowly though.
"We are missing the other capra! The girl, Lily!"

405620

>>405615
I grab one by the mouth so they don't scream and wake 'em up.

405621

>>405602
"Exchange? I got nothing on me… except my clothes and weapon that is."
I look down.
"I was scouting here to investigate the disappearance of the local villagers nearby, I ended up here and… you suddenly appaer." I shrink back.

405622

>>405617
I follow you, cautiously..
"Alright"

405623

>>405615
"PSSST! HEY!"

405627

>>405622
"No time for this. Let's get the hostages out. And… You go, do some heroic stuff!"

405631

>>405620
He looks at you, first scared, then confused, then blushing.
>>405623
The other one blinks a few times
"Bwa… huh?"
>>405621
"Well… maybe you could let me see what you're hiding under the clothes~
…wait what did you-?"
Think fast before he processes what you just admitted.

405633

>>405615
Keeping arms at the ready, look at the cages. Any prisoners awake?

405635

>>405631
".. wha? OH!"
Kick him in the head!!
'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

405636

>>405631
Take a look around the whole camp from the outside to see if that missing capra is here.

Roll #1 5 = 5

405637

>>405631
"What'samatter? Never seen a naked lass before? We're here ta git ya out. Now don't scream!"
I let him go.
"How many of you are there?"

405638

>>405627
"Nothing heroic about cutting down sleeping men." I look for the prisoners. '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

405639

>>405631
"Shh, we are getting you out of here."
I try to pick the cage's lock.
[1d10]

Roll #1 2 = 2

405643

>>405635
You knock him over
Rolling to remain conscious
'1d10-1'
>>405636
Well there's some sort of scuffle going on on the other edge of the camp
>>405637
"Nice tits… lass.
Well there's us here and I don't even know. I was brought up here a few nights back. I think most are kept in those caves, guarded by those really freaky demons…"
>>405638
>>405633
Aside from this pair, only one other cage out here has prisoners.
'1d5' to be exact.
>>405639
This lock is crude but surprisingly stubborn.
Also the hinges are rusty as hell. They'd probably make a lot of noise.

Roll #1 2 - 1 = 1 / Roll #2 2 = 2

405645

>>405643
>>405635
Nope, he is well and truly out cold.
So much for that then.

405647

>>405643
Signal to them to be quiet and see if I can open the cages.

How big are the cages anyway?

405649

>>405643
I keep trying.
"Does anyone have any oil?"
[1d10]

Roll #1 1 = 1

405650

>>405643
Reach said edge of the camp.
Gracefully.

Roll #1 1 + 1 = 2

405652

>>405643
"I need a bigger sword… do you know who has the keys?"

405658

>>405650
With all the grace of someone tripping over a sleeping bandit.
"bwhuha!?
What the? Why the fuck are you?"
>>405649
You snap your lock pick. Curse this rusty piece of shit. Any decent lock would have opened easily!
>>405652
"Probably the leader of the demons. The Winged Beast."

405663

>>405645
>>405643
Breath out of relief, that was so close. Too close on both occasions. Good thing, he has a weak head.
Alright crawl and stealth in the camp and see if I can go back to my teammates
'1d10+2'

Roll #1 3 + 2 = 5

405664

>>405658
"I still think we shoulda just charged in and killed 'm all… who's the beast? Where does it reside? Inside?"

405665

>>405658
"You are still dreaming boy!"
Cheap shot.

405667

>>405658
"What is holding us back from completing our mission here?"

405668

>>405658
I toss the broken pick aside and try to hide when I hear a bandit wake up.
[1d10]

Roll #1 2 = 2

405671

>>405663
>>405668
You end up vashing your heads together as you both scramble into the same hiding place

With a firm punch to the face, he is back in calm slumber.

405673

>>405643
check the bandits, does anyone look like they have keys '1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

405674

>>405671
Time to finally reach this other end of the camp, right?

405677

>>405668
>>405671
"Ow. Why… hey you!" Where are the others?" I look at her

405678

>>405671
"Fine. Just wait a moment."
Where are the others? Are we still together?
If not, I'll just find Kri.
"Come on, let's go inside the cave!"

405679

>>405647
>>405647
>>405647
Well, how big are the cages?

405683

>>405677
"Sorry."

I try again.

>>405678
"And leave ourselves unguarded when all the sleeping here wake up? I would tie them all if I had rope."

405689

>>405679
You could probably carry them one at a time.
>>405674
At the other end, you find a knocked out bandit with a bulge in his pants and cooking utensils on his person.
Also, a staircase to the summit.
>>405673
The prisoners mentioned the Demon Leader.

405690

>>405683
"Hey wait!" follower her.
'1d10+2'

"Where are the others? Whats happening?"

Roll #1 2 + 2 = 4

405692

"We're moving to the cave."

>>405689
I go to the cave.

405695

>>405692
There's about 30 bandits asleep down there, and two massive things up in the summit guarding the shrine.
>>405694
>>405693
Torches light the inside, painting heavy shadows on the walls.
You can hear movement down there. Seems the guards here aren't asleep.

405697

>>405686
"We could..:"
Stomp my hoof.
>>405695
Follow them.
"I'm so lost…"

405706

>>405698
They both turn to face you.
Roll not to panic
>>405702
It is.
You can go take a closer look, now that you slipped on moss at the entrance and rolled down into the cave.
MIN6 to not get seen instantly.
>>405699
You keep to the deep shadows by the wall and creep along silently, sighing as Lily rolls past you.

405708

>>405695
Wait for them to arrive. "We've going to have company soon" I whisper to the ones who are near me.

405710

>>405706
'1d10'

Roll #1 1 = 1

405713

>>405706
"wha Wha!"
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

405714

>>405706
I get my sword ready.
"Just tell me when to charge!"

405721

>>405706
>>405714
"Draw arms!"

Ready myself.

405727

>>405706
I move around so that I will be in a good position to strike at the two figures.

405729

>>405710
History will be the judge of that.
A terrified stream of piss soaks your legs and prompts the two figures to begin moving towards you.
>>405713
You slam into one of the guards down in the cave. He grabs you by the leg and lifts you up, upside down
"What the hell!? Intruder!"
There are '1d5+5' guys down here.
Half of them are clearly humen. The other half are strange, spindly dark things with white markings on their bodies.

Angered, you stab the bandit Natidah smashes, bringing him to his knees.
>>405795
Your sword cleaves the last of the bandits wide open, causing her to collapse.
>>405798
Sadly, nobody is really left in surrendering condition.

And as your friends mop up, you hide under a table.

The cave is now clear.
Both capra have escaped from the shrine.

From the cave or from the camp?

405848

Could someone give me a recap of what's happening
I'm totally out of it.
We are in the hostage cave right?

"What about the shrine?"

405852

>>405846

405853

>>405846
I raise a hand to halt them.
"Its not safe yet, I am not sure."

I look around.
"I will scout first and tell you guys if it is safe to go outside."

Scout and see if there are cultist roaming about.

There isn't all that much here, a few coin purses worth.
>>405865
He has no time to scream before he is brought low by a leaping set of goat tits slamming into him.
I doubt he could have thought of a better way to get back to sleep.
>>405869
And after Bonnie is done subduing him, you kill him in cold blood.
There is now a bloody mess right there out in the open when anyone else wakes up.
>>405867
>>405870
I guess you all get to fight over the gold then.

The papers read
[No further workers are needed after this shipment. Focus on supplies.
The Tide will provide all we need in manpower
The Flame will join the Good Lord on his journey
I will remain to oversee the project for now. Return to me when you are done.]

'1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

405881

Enough.
Put a hand on his shoulder and slowly shake my head.
"Such a shame, the loss of a life."

405884

>>405879
"We still need to kill those things at the shrine."

405887

>>405879
I go back to the prisoners.
"Its alright to go out, I think its safe. Everyone get out orderly and we will be able to bring you all home."

405890

>>405881
"He was legless.. not a threat anymore.." I look into your eyes "Don't you think that he had some love of his own that he was chasing? No that love will die with him, and so needlessly.."

405893

>>405879
are there any bandit prisoners we have with us?

405894

>>405893
pretty sure the ones we were fighting are all dead

405896

>>405893
"We should head to the shrine now."
I get my sword and start making my way up there.

405897

>>405894
a damn shame
"If the townspeople are free, we should lead them to town."

405898

>>405890
"Shh. It's a bad, bad world out there. Eat or be eated.
But this doesn't mean we have to be taken down with it and bend to its rules, does it?
You are still a hero, no?"
'1d10+2' to play a soft, malenchonic tune.

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10

405899

>>405887
"A-alright… ok everyone, let's go…"
They silently sneak out of the camp and head down the mountainside.
>>405893
I think you've murdered all of them.

The prisoners are free.
They will find their own way back.
Only the four in the cages outside remain in captivity.

405903

>>405897
"Let's finish our business here, first."
>>405899
To the summit/shrine/horks/whatever!

405905

>>405896
"Hold on"
>>405899
nod as they leave, then follow Bonnie

405906

>>405899
To the outside, we should free those, too.

405908

>>405899
Go outside and into the cages.
"Hey are you guys alright, time to get out."

Check out if therere is away to unlock the door and open it.
'1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

405909

>>405906
The cages are locked.

405911

>>405909
Shoots.
By what kind of lock?

405914

>>405899
I follow Bonnie.

405915

405916

>>405898
I smile "I can't stay sad, when I hear such lovely music, and by our own Corpy." I give you a hug and maybe just the slightest pinch on the cute little butt

405922

>>405908
>>405915
>>405911
The cages are also quite rusty.
With the right use of force and leverage, the bars can be snapped.
>>405914
>>405903
It seems the two Horks are no longer on the shrine door…

405923

>>405922
I look around a bit. Is the shrine open?

405925

>>405922
Go and grab one of the weapons(a spear is appropriate) that the bandits have and use it as a crowbar and force to open the cage
'1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

405928

>>405916
Awkward.
I will clear my throat slightly.
"Ah. Yes. Thank you, but I do it just for you heroes, my glory matters little!"

'1d10' not to be too happy about that pinch.

>>405925
"That's gonna make a great song! Lily the barbuster!"

Roll #1 9 = 9

405929

>>405928
Cool. As. Fuck.

405931

>>405922
I push open the door.

405932

>>405928
I just roll my eyes.

But yeah I got to admit he is a good musician.

405936

>>405925
That works.
The bar snaps without so much as a sound, allowing the prisoners to climb out and escape the mountain.
>>405931
Inside, the two horks are flanking an imposing figure.
It turn to face you as you open the door.
His face is not like those of the others. It is more detailed and intricate, elongated and with a set of four horns like some sort of foul dragon.
He has strong muscles and a pair of large, leathery wings. He wields a hook-like blade.
This must be the Demon Leader…

405939

>>405936
Ready my sword.
"Oh, great. Who're ya?"

405940

>>405928
>>405936
Well, my spirits are lifted, so I'm ready to face this demon king. stare him down.

405941

>>405936
"You guys go now. We'll stay for awhile and investigate more." I wave the prisoners off.

…..
Oh shit, check out the bandit that I knocked out(that wants to get touchy feely). Tie him up and perhaps we can have a prisoner.

405942

>>405936
"Why have you been attacking the town?"
[1d10]

Roll #1 5 = 5

405943

>>405936
Demon king?
I should sit in the back.
"You go heroes!"

405945

>>405943
Inspire with that.

Roll #1 5 + 2 = 7

405949

>>405941
Lets see if he wakes up as you do
'1d10'
>>405939
>>405940
>>405942
He raises a long, sharp finger to point at you
"You…
Why have you come to this place…
What is it you hope to accomplish by standing against us?"

Roll #1 4 = 4

405950

>>405949
>>405941
Nope. Sound asleep unless you wake him up.

405951

>>405949
"To stop the abductions!"

405953

>>405949
Jump up and point my own finger at him from the back, cocky smile on my face.
"For glory, of course!"
Inspire again!

Roll #1 3 + 2 = 5

405955

>>405949
"We are simply here to stop the humens from being taken, why not just tell us what you even need humens for. We can settle this peacefully can't we?" '1d10+3'

Roll #1 1 + 3 = 4

405956

>>405949
"We are here to stop the disappearances and find out why the people were being taken."

405957

>>405951
>>405953
>>405955
>>405956
"You meddle with far greater things than you understand. Leave my mountain. Leave and run far. Lest I add you to my hunting grounds."

405958

>>405950
>>405949
Tie him up and then wake him up.
'1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

405959

>>405957
Well, sit down.
I should start keeping track of this stuff. Villain monologues are a strong points of epic ballads.

405960

>>405957
"We will not run demon king. We will stand and fight for the one who can not. We will free these people, for the sake of love." Draw my blade and glare at him.

405962

>>405957
"How about you stop doing this and surrender."
I look around. Where are the others?

405963

>>405957
"I think we can take you."

405966

>>405960
>>405962
>>405963
"Yeah, tell him heroes!"
Inspire.

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10

405968

>>405958
"Oh… you again.
What was that hit for?"
>>405960
>>405962
>>405963
>>405966
"So be it then, fools.
I am The Wind of Destruction, the king of the Mountain Demons, and a Lord of the New Dawn. Your heads will make a fine warning to those who would come after you. That I will not be stopped!"

He unfolds his wings and roars as the two masked Horks charge.

BOSS: The Wind of Destruction
Should we wait for our missing players, or?

405971

>>405968
Yes we should.

405972

405973

405974

>>405968
Cheap shot one of the Horks
And yes, we wait.

405978

>>405974
Combat has already begun. Roll.

405985

>>405978
Nevermind, change that to Inspire then.

Roll #1 7 + 2 = 9

405986

>>405968
Wait am I the only one missing?

"You know the answer to that. Now tell me, why are there so many prisoners here?"

405989

>>405986
"Why should I tell you anything?
You don't seem anywhere near as nice as I thought you'd be."

406001

>>405968
are we fighting now?

406002

>>405989
I give him a stare.
"How nice should I be huh? I hit you in the head because you will rat me out, its survival instinct thats what they call."

"Now tell me whats is happening here or you will suffer."

406004

>>406001
Waiting on Dsty.

406008

>>406002
"Make me."

406016

>>406008
I scratch my head.
"Alright?"

……
"I really am not fond or even good at torture and stuff. How do I go with this? Stab you in the hand or the neck?"

406020

>>406016
"You're not fond of torture and I'm not fond of pain.
Why don't we just make a deal?"

406024

>>406020
I stare at him.
"I'm listening."

406029

>>406024
"You give me what I want, I give you what you want, we both go away happy and unharmed?"

406038

>>406029
"You really have little power to demand with your predicament right now, you know that."

406041

>>406038
>to demand anything from me considering your predicament

406043

>>406038
>>406041
He nods towards the thirty sleeping bandits
"Actually, I am."

406055

>>406043
……………
How did I miss those guys.
I gulp and look back at him.
"Alright what is this deal? Speak."

406058

>>406055
"You lose the clothes and let me go, and I'll you about our operation."

406062

>>406058
I bit my lips and clenched my fist.
"If not, you will shout and wake everyone right?"

406063

>>406062
"Between that and being tortured, yes, I think I choose raising the alarm."

406065

>>406063
"…. fuck."
Take off my clothes slowly in front of him, but not my undergarment.

406067

>>406065
He shrugs
"Hm. Good enough.
Now, untie me, please."

406070

>>406067
Remove my underwear too.
"You want to see everything right?"

With that I approach him and stuff my underwear to his mouth! Prevent him from shouting!

He seems oddly ok with this outcome.
Though now he can't tell about what's going on either.

406073

>>406071
Drag him out of here and into a more secluded location.
'1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

406074

>>406073
He is quite heavy…
After some sweaty and exhausting pushing and shoving you manage to roll him to the edge of the hillside, away from the lumber camp.
He didn't seem to mind the extra physical contact.

406075

>>406074
Take away the panty from his mouth.
"Now talk, before I let you go."

406079

>>406075
"Well you turned out to be a fine upstanding young lady.
My friends work for the Wind of Destruction, an eccentric fellow who hired us to gather villagers to help in some large project he is working on. It seems to need a lot of healthy, strong bodies, whatever it is. He was also very interested in the timber, so I guess he is building something. Probably wants to make an estate on the cheap.
My only complaint is that he is prone to being so dramatic…"

406082

>>406079
"…. maniac…" I fume and blush a little.
Get my clothes and put them on. Also clean my panty and dry them before putting it on.

"Go on and keep on speaking, why is he so dramatic? Also, do you have any idea on bandits wearing demon mask to take away villagers?"

406084

>>406082
"I guess he's just like that.
Proud too. I don't think I've ever seen him take an insult, challenge or dare well.
As for the masks, that's just kinda thing he insisted on. He even had a really nice one himself. I guess so nobody would see his face and know who he is."

406085

>>406084
I then giggled uncontrollably upon hearing this.
"Really? So you really are the guys who goes from town to town to kidnap townsfolks."

"Hey hey, you know what? There is this priest in this town that likes to create ceremonies to ward you guys off. He even prays for like a whole day or week and is really convinced that you guys have come from hell. Really is making a fool out of himself when I saw him and I was right." I then laughed.

406088

>>406085
"I guess the masks did they job then.
Can you untie me now?"

406089

>>406088
I stand near him.
"How can I be sure that after I take off those ropes that you wont just attack me. Also I dont want you to go back to that base of yours to warn your friends about what has happened so this is a bit of a predicament."
I look at the cliff before looking back to him.

406091

>>406089
"Well somehow I get the feeling I'm about to lose my job here in any case. Maybe it's time to move on and cook for someone else?"

406093

>>406091
"Hmmm… alright" Go and untie him.
"Run, I have to go and see if there are more things to be done before I go back and report to my village."

406094

>>406093
He rubs his wrists, then kneels down to face level with you
"How about a parting kiss for good luck, Red?"

406096

>>406094
I give him an irritated look.
"After you treathen to make your way to me back there, you really are pushing your luck."

"No."

406098

>>406096
"Eh, was worth a try."
He pats you on the head, stands up and leaves whistling a merry tune.
