"You know the drill," a gruff voice calls from beyond the door, prompting you to get up and dress for the day ahead.
You exit your room to see Bear and Golden, both standing stiff as statues until you shut your door behind you. They silently take their positions in front and behind you, and walk you towards the dining hall.
For once, they are completely silent. The only sound that echoes in the large halls are the sounds of your small party's footsteps.

Dinner comes and goes with Celestia giving you a knowing wink at the end, and you're soon in a lounge room with Luna going over your reading assignment for that day. Again she helps improve your understanding of certain tenses in writing, but she seems pleased with your progress as well.
But the real question is, what should the two of you do tonight?

You opt for spear training today, and Golden goes over the basics with you before giving you a pony shaped mannequin to poke at while he observes and corrects. The spears are a little short for you, but you manage to get his approval.
"Hard tellin' when you do something real weird considering it's all weird with you," he comments afterward, making you smile.
You also ask if Celestia chewed him out for his behavior, and his face tints a bit when he responds.
"N-not really, actually. She was very understanding. I mean, she made it clear I'm not to act like that again, and we aren't supposed to be as informal with you as we are, but she didn't yell at me or anything. Very…kind."

Truth be told you don't think you can do it either, but it's at least worth learning about. Maybe some way to deflect it or avoid it besides ducking would be nice, if such a thing exists.
Luna nods at your request, and she retrieves a few books from the library to read from.

She begins to read from the book, explaining how one gathers energy on the tip of their horn, the general sensation it gives, how to know if you're in control, etc…

In the span of a blink she leans forward and gives you a quick peck on the cheek, her soft lips pressing gently against your skin and making your heart flutter.
Before you can return the favor she hops off the bench and trots to the door, calling your escort. Just after doing so she flares her wings and begins a gentle ascent into the air, saying she needs to begin her patrol for the night.
She takes off into the night sky as Bear and Golden stride onto the patio to take you to bed.
And maybe it was your imagination, but you think Luna's voice was wavering when she said "Goodnight."
