The last thing the maid listening outside the door hears is Celestia saying "B-back that ass up."

The same way you spoiler on 4chan.

Multicrits are offline for now due to DARK POWERS INTERFERING
Anyone who cant find their way here is assumed to follow the party and not say or do anything until the player returns.
Cloak
and Dagger nod, then pull open an heavy trap door covering a staircase
that leads underground. After everyone has entered, they shoot out a
flare.
>The clock of life is ticking
>Every moment wasted is a pony never returning home
>Let us hurry
>They will die to give us time
Meanwhile, Dusklight observes the flare, then gives the order to open the gates.
Over
a hundred ponies stand ready to attack what lies within. At the very
tip of this spear stands Gracious Glory. This is where his service will
end for all eternity, one way or the other.
>"CHARGE!"
As
you descend down the stairs, you get the uneasy feeling that they lead
far deeper than they should. You must already be below the Necroponelis
itself, yet the stairs just keep going.
Listen for sounds?
Snuff all light sources and creep ahead?
Tell Cloak and Dagger to scout ahead?
Tell Valiance to blindly charge in?
>>5903
Advance with cautioun.
Tell the Twins to always scout ahead, but not too far away.Rolled 7 = 7

Snuffing out light will not benefit us. Let the spies scout ahead, they know to do it better than us.Rolled 8 = 8

No. Only roll if you intend to roll for something.
>>5909
You can hear some of the noise from the battle, but the darkness is too thick to see properly in.

>We can see the hall this path connects to

If we are to charge in, ready crossbow, despite suspecting that they will have a trap.Rolled 4 = 4
>>5912
We have three sneaky ponies with knives and one with a crossbow. They have four guards.
>>5914
"Clearly they know better then to leave their backs unguarded. If we are to eliminate them, we must be swift and silent."
>>5920
You are hidden from sight
Cloak and Dagger follow you into the darkness of the room, distracting the closest guard with a well tossed pebble.
There are indeed four guards. Two by the door you entered from, two at another exit. There is also a third, unguarded exit.
>4chan.org
>SORRY, THAT PAGE DOES NOT EXIST
>>5922
The twins take up positions along with you, and three guards fall dead, silently.
The fourth guard, who went to investigate the pebble, realizes something is wrong but does not raise an alarm.
>>5923

I do so love it when work follows me home.
>>5933

is quickly silenced.
The room is clear.
There are two exits.
One was guarded, the other was not.
>>5936
>>5937
>>5938
>>5939
As
you head down the corridor you can see the ceiling is full of intricate
carvings, most depicting Grogar and acts of necromancy.
You also see another pathway of stairs leading up. Most likely another entrance point.
At the end of the corridor lies a large door.
>>5942
"I'm not really good at navigating in these Light forsaken catacombs…
Someone should lead the way, I would just get us lost.
Damn it, Trusty should be here…"
>>5946
You can hear soft clicking sounds, and some general commotion behind the door.
>>5944
The door seems pretty big and heavy. It has more carvings on it.
>>5954
At
the center is a large circle. From it, several lines extend to other
shapes, each filled with different depictions of evil acts.
On the top left, what seems to be a golem made of corpses
On the bottom left, necromancers reading
On the top right, a twisted crown
On the bottom right, a group of ponies
At the top of the door, unconnected to all things, is a circle with a skull.
>>5953
>barging in sounds suicidal
>this door seems to have more to it that seems
>it might be trapped
>or enchanted
>>5956
>>5957
"How do you all propose we move on, then? If we destroy it from a distance, then maybe.."
>>5957
"Zebro, do you feel anything suspicious about this door?"
And maybe someone should check that unguarded room out real quick.
>>5959
>We can attempt to disarm any traps on the door
>But if it is magical in nature, we will need a way to dispell it first
>>5961
Doesn't the other door lead back?
>>5962
Ask everyone if we can have any items we can sue to dispel these.
>>5968
Well it is magical at least.
The exact spell is hard to tell, but you assume it is a booby trap or alarm of some sort.
>>5966
Hint: the Runesword is antimagic.
>>5969
Be struck by a mysterious epiphany and ask the wielder of the Runesword to try and touch the door with it
>>5971
I thought he did…
Oh well. Does anyone have a way to contact him?
The runesword pulses sharply as it touches the door, then grows dim.
>we can now attempt to disarm the door
>unless you wish to check the other path first
**going to have to leave now, sorry guys
I'll leave it to DM if I just follow the party occasionally looking at stallionface or am whisked a way by a mysterious force**
>>5974
I'll stay here and watch out that nothing unusual happens
We still have those communication things, right?
>>5974
>>5975
>>5976
The other path leads upwards, but not as sharply as the one you used to enter. You can hear loud commotion higher up.
After some walking you begin to feel the place looks really familiar.
>>5979
Try to remember why it looks familiar.
>>5977
Bye! Will you be back later?
Who will tell me how pretty my stallionface is now?
>>5981
If you guys are still around in 4 hours, then yeah
**your stallionface isn't anything pretty, it's juts.. special. yeah.
>>5981
>>5982
As
you go a bit further you arrive onto a balcony or walkway of sorts.
There is an old bloodstain by a nearby pillar. Then it dawns on you.
This
is where you were attacked when you last came down here. You are in the
bottom floor of the Necroponelis. The door must have not been guarded
as it was the way used for the army to move out and engage the frontal
assault forces.
>>5986
Do you two want to go investigate that Lifebinder's Tomb, or go back and see if the twins have figured out that door?
>>5992
Valiance speaks up
"You
would abandon Commander Gracious to fight this threat alone? We are in
the perfect position for a surprise flanking attack. We could free up
his entire force for our use, with minimal losses!"
>>5994
You
didn't share our dream last night. Every single pony engaged up their
dieing would be a small price to pay if it means that we can act in time
to prevent Strife from being reanimated.
>>5994
"We
are here for a different task… And that would let them know we are
inside. I'm sorry Valiance, but they fight up there so we may complete
our mission down here. Stopping Strife is more important than stopping
his minions."
>>5994
"Trust in your commander. His job is to give us the time we need to finish this entirely."
>>5995
>>5996
>>5998
"But I- gah, you're right. Let us head back then."
The twins are working on the door.
As
you arrive, the pegasus lands and walks up to Dawn as the unicorn
continues working the door's inner mechanisms with telekinesis.
>Can we talk quickly?
>>6001
>Yes. There are things left unsaid and my brother needs not hear them. Neither does your sister. Or any of those here.
>>6002
>YOU stay out of this for once. Save your blind judgement to those who need to die this day.
>>6008
I don't think that it's safe to take out that sentry.
Let's just head back down, and stay silent.
>>6012
Away from you.
You can smell ash.
>>6010
>Then come with me a ways further back. This is important for me.
>>6015
It is probably another exit. We should at least see where it leads to, in case it is another ritual site.
>>6019
>>6017
What if there is someone who is facing this way and sees us?
There is absolutely no reason to jeopardize this mission to take out one sentry!
>>6018
You stop in a dark shadow a short way back into the hallway
>Dawn. We've shared everything we can by now. Our skills, our knowledge… ourselves.
He removes his hood. For the first time ever you can see his face. He is handsome but badly scarred.
>If
I fall this day, I want. No. I NEED you to take my place as the eyes of
Celestia. I know I can trust you. That is a rare thing in these dark
times. Promise to me that you will do this.

>My
brother would never allow it. He is devoted. Cold even. We knew our
duty when we accepted it. However I never expected to meet one like you
back then. If we run, we become fugitives. Worse even.
>>6020
The
sentry occasionally opens the door and looks around whatever is on the
other side. You can see some motes of ash and smell lingering smoke
whenever the door opens.
>>6031
>We
will be remembered as traitors and heretics. Ones who betrayed their
sacred duty to the sun herself. But for you… I admit I am tempted.
He
is brushing his hooves on the floor. It is strange seeing this much
humanity in the spy who was previously impossible to tell from his
equally faceless brother.
>>6034
>*sigh*
Yes my love. Let us hope so. Whatever our fate will be, it will be ours
together. Should we return to my brother or… would you like… to…
something else?

Traces
of fire. Not just fire. Of a raging inferno. Consuming many, both
living and dead. Leaving nothing behind. Burning death. Everywhere. Like
a great oven.
>>6032
There's a hell of a firestorm up there and I think it's hurting us and them. Maybe the dragons are trying to help?Rolled 3 = 3
>>6038
>Yes. Let us do so.
Dagger is visibly relieved as he pulls his hood back on, once again obscuring his features.
Cloak
is sweating as he focuses to delicately move the last components of the
arcane locks aside. He hasn't even noticed you were gone.
>>6040
"That is disconcerting, but if it burns the enemy as well then we have no need to interfere."
>>6040
After a bit longer you realize you are sensing past events, not current ones.
The death magic down here must be confusing you a little.
>>6042
>>6044
Wait,
no, that's not happening some time ago. I have no idea what's going on
up there. Radiant, does you stallionfriend want to try using his
crossbow again?
>>6049
Dozens.
Or at least there once were.
Ponies. Dragons. Beasts. Some dead before the fire. Others after it.
>>6055
THE BASTARD TRACKER
THE DECEITFUL ROGUE
THE MERCILESS PALADIN

BURNED US ALIVE
>>6063
ASK THEM THEY ARE RIGHT BEHIND YOU
KILL THEM FOR US TOO WHILE YOU'RE AT IT
IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE
WE DID NOT REALLY ENJOY THE FIRE
>>6071
Well whattayaknow. This is the cave of initiations where you got the Binding Spell.
Seems like it was connected to the necromancer fortress all along.
>>6070
The
other way only goes to the catacombs where we revived Gracious Glory. I
ask the Twins if they no the layout of this place and where the skull
of Strife might be.
>>6072
"Finished your quickie with your spy friend? Was it good defile a tomb with your perversion?"
>>6074
>The carvings are the doors imply it could be a map
>I suggest you memorize it. Or draw a copy
>…I, brother?
>We. We suggest.
>Indeed. However even if this assumption is correct, we do not know how to reach the skull.
>We suggest taking down one of the two Lords of Death and questioning them.
>>6076
"We
should find the Reanimator then. He seems to be the weaker out of the
two. But if the beggar told the truth, we won't be able to kill him."
>>6077
>>6078
>If our interpretations are correct, he should be in the northeast wing.
>Provided he is doing what his title suggests.
>where did that other path you checked lead anyway?
>>6081
"One lead back to the center of the Catacombs.
The other to someplace burning. Or I don't know, I told you I'm not good in underground orientation!"
