The party is being led down a dark corridor. At the head of the line walks a cloaked unicorn. He is levitating a dimly burning lantern along for light. The corridor is lined with natural stone walls, and leads downwards. Some steps have been carved into the floor at parts where the descend becomes steeper.

The cloaked one speaks, his voice raspy and worn, but genuinely curious
"So tell me, how did you all end up here? I'm sure may came to serve the great Grogar, but I doubt that is the reason you all are here. Please, tell me. We still have a ways to go before we reach the master"

He unlocks a metal door at the end of the corridor. It makes no sound as it opens, but you can tell it is old, if well cared for. Beyond the door is a domed chamber with hallways leading off into other directions.
The cloaked unicorn walks over to the largest hallway and stops to wait for you.

You can hear screams of pain from one of the corridors, heavy dragging noises down another and the clanging of metal down a third. It is too dark to see deep into any of them. Before you can check the last two, the cloaked unicorn stops you, and tells you to focus.

Now that everyone seems ready, he pulls up his lantern again and keeps his head low. This corridor is lined with large statues, many decorated with talismans of bone and glowing runes. It seems the statues have been carved from the natural rock walls.

You walk the rest of the way in silence.

You arrive into another large chamber. Two massive ponies in dark iron armour stand guard by the doorway. The cloaked unicorn nods to them and they make way. This chamber is lit with torches of blue flame, and the air is heavy with magic. The entrance aside, you can spot another door up near the top of the room, accessible via a set of stairs and balconies.
There is a throne at the back of the room, up a small flight of stairs. The unicorn looks at it, then asks the guards where their master is.
The guards nod towards the side room just as a howl of agony is heard from it.
The unicorn nods back, then hurries to kneel before the throne, motioning you to follow.

As you take your places before the throne, the screams stop, and a pony walks out from the side chamber. You can only see a silhouette of him against the blue flames, but you can see he is tall. His long horn glows for a short moment, then he opens his wings and takes flight, landing upon the throne with a mighty crash. His voice is deep and booming, and his intonation not unlike the way royals of old used to speak.
"SUNSPOT. ARE THESE THE BEST CHAMPIONS YOU COULD MUSTER?"
The unicorn swallows and replies
"They were not... mine, uh, it was, it was Ashwing who..."
"SILENCE" demands the large pony on the throne. "I WILL SEE TO IT THAT YOU GET YOURS LATER."
He then turns to face you with his piercing eyes.
"RISE. TELL ME WHY I SHOULD NOT HAVE YOU TAKEN TO THE BONE PITS THIS INSTANT. LOOKING AT YOU I SEE FEW REASONS TO USE YOU AS MORE THAN MEAT"

It seems the master is not too pleased with you at first glance. Try convincing him that you are worthy.

The master lifts you into the air with his magic and brings you close you him. In the glow of his horn you can see him more clearly. His horn changes colour near the top, as if it weren't even the same horn. His knees have lots of scar tissue and visible stitches, and his wings resemble those of a griffon's more than a pegasus' in size and shape.

The master is cut off by another voice

The second voice belongs to a unicorn who has emerged from the side room. He has a wispy beard and a sharp horn. There are some bloodstains on his chest and what appears to be six severed diamond dog hands hovering around him, some still grasping implements.
He hops down the steps as Master Patchwreck begrudgingly drops the laughing mage.
The new arrival speaks

Patchwreck rolls his eyes and the two start heading back to the main hall.

The shortest way to the archives forces you to make some pretty long leaps and sneak past some windows. There is also an easier route, but it takes quite a detour.
