You should try forming your own opinion about a movie, it is really refreshing.
No.794676
>>794674This is literally the exact opposite of how you're supposed to use reviews. Don't go with "well most critics liked it so it's good". You find a critic whose taste resonates with and matches your own with a high degree of accuracy on a regular basis, and then if they like something you will like it, and visa versa.
I respected Roger Ebert immensely but totally disagreed with his tastes in film, so he wasn't a useful critic for me.

It's much safer to rely on the masses to voice their opinion, though even that has its risks. Of course since everyone who watched it on the Sub so far has been positive about it, it's a bit of a safer bet.

I aesthetically appreciate small cute things but just because it's small doesn't necessarily make it attractive. Use of perspective is a good way to convey size, but that's extremely difficult. Another good way to emphasize size is to include something in the picture to give the viewer a scale of reference - a jar, a cage, a q-tip, a ruler, a feather, a [normal sized body part], etc. And naturally any naturally sexual situation is still attractive - e.g.: stimulation of erogenous zones. But that picture is still cute. >Springtrap malfunctions and impales his body and merges with him, but he doesn't die since he was already undead because of Ennard
>Springtrap is recovered and put into Freddy Fright years later once the pizzerias are already a spooky myth

We have this same conversation EVERY FUCKING TIME that you quest with me. Someone's worried that you're minmax'ing too much. You tell me it's all okay and they're overreacting. And 10 sessions later I do have to put a limit somewhere because it's getting out of hand.
And while I feel it's not getting out of hand right now, the precedent is there. I mean, what am I supposed to do? I wish you'd just make a regular character for once.
No.795238
>>795237I made a regular character! What the fuck mate, I literally just picked all Chance feats I could without even looking, I used only book options, and my casting level, at level SIX is something like 1 or 2 tops.
The only thing I can do is spam AD on skill checks and never run out of spell points, but I'm a pushover in any kind of combat scenario.
You telling me I broke a system as mathematically sound as FC without even trying? The truth is, you just don't have combat, so my one weakness (which usually should be around 50% of a normal ttrpg session) doesn't show.
I don't even have utility spells or anything so all I can do, again, is ace skill checks. Might as well have picked a Keeper.
In conclusion my character can do ONE thing well, like any character should, and since I didn't just make one of the 2 stock choices for character builds I'm OP as opposed to someone who didn't care to build his character properly.
But if this is the sentiment here I can quit, sure.
No.795239
>>795234More of a reason to care I guess. It seemed like you were maybe playing up Bright as a possible love interest which could be a reason if he was more forward, or something. You know Fairweather is very selfish but not in the traditional ways like wealth or power, she's almost like House (the doctor) in that she doesn't like unsolved mysteries, hence the question she asked the witch lady in the "mushroom dream". A promise of an answer about the nature of reality (or more down-to-earth, insight into the nature of the breezie equivalent of humanity) would be more of a draw than "you can save lives" or "you will win the respect of your peers".
tl;dnr version: Increase the stakes in saving an individual like Bright OR bait Fairweather's pet cause for true insight
>>795237>>795235I just said I was worried about it, I will still give it a chance. We have only been in the same room for like 5 minutes so far as yet anyway.
No.795240
>>795238That's kind of the definition of minmaxing, right? Completely useless in one area (min) and extremely strong in one area (max). Nobody in Breezie is using a stock character.
Usually you have a lot of characters who are okay in combat and have one good niche, e.g.:
Skill checks are a good way to make every player feel like they're useful.
>Keeper: Don't worry guys, I'll craft us better potions with my Craft.>Courtier: And I'll keep us well equipped with my excellent Haggle, maybe gather some information with my Diplomacy.>Burglar: I can Sneak past the guards and steal the keys with my Prestidigitation.>Barbarian: And I can climb up the cliff to lower the rope.>Captain: When the time comes, my Tactics will win the day, but in the meanwhile I can still lead the Search better than anyone. But instead you've forgone combat entirely in favor of being better than any of those characters even in their niche skill. They may as well not show up to the session if there isn't going to be a fight.
No.795242
>>795240No, the definition of minmaxing is max-imizing strengths and min-imizing weaknesses.
No.795243
>>795242Whatever, you get my point. If it's a combat session (because we all know combat CAN take an entire session, maybe more) you may as well not show up, and if it's a non-combat session, why do I even need to be there? I have STELLAR medicine, tactics, and search checks (I even took Enlightened medicine in my origin) and you probably can roll +15 higher on those checks. I have no motivation to even be there for the session at all since you're doing all the meaningful interactions.
No.795244
>>795238>>795239Well, as long as I don't have to deal with more minmax'ing accusations I'll be happy, because I'm really done with those.
Here's the thing, there really should be some roles for everyone. Because otherwise Petilia will be all over the place. So what if we could work out roles for the team? Like Petilia could be more dealing with alchemy, perception, knowledge, persuasion,…
And Fairweather survival skills, intimidate, search…
And Pattern, crafting, Tinker knowledge, Stealth, etc..
And we just agree that you guys focus on your own sphere. This way we can solve this with a gentleman's agreement, and everyone gets a place in the spotlight!

No.795268
>>795263Maybe so, in any case, Fairweather already
>>795267I didn't admit to that, I have 10 skills that are at +10 or higher, two skills at +16. That's a great stat block.
The problem arises that even in a situation where I put ALL of my skills toward being good like Medicine (I have +16 because I took the special Enlightened Medicine that lets you extend your maximum skill ranks even higher), Petilia would
still be better, even in a niche where my character is specifically designed to be really good at that because his skill dice give a universal boost to all skills.
FantasyCraft has 21 skill checks, 21 ways for your character to demonstrate their usefulness to the party. In a group with three people, we should expect to be the best choice for about 7 of those, but I would settle for being the best at just two.
But even with a character specifically designed to be good at medicine, a Doctor, the chance character is better because dice add to everything. The lucky witch is better at medicine than the doctor. No.795269

You for example have Survival, and you could probably easily outroll Wf, who's styled for it, with your AD's. SO my proposal would be to let everyone have their role a bit. Like when you guys are going through the forest and you need to track down some evil monster, let Wf do it and when there's need for magic spells or socialising, it's your turn to shine. And you don't even need to retool your character for that, let's say at a certain point you end up alone and have to do Survival, you can do that anyway.
My point is to create a story where everyone feels like they can contribute meaningfully, not to limit any characters.

We could do the same with for example MEdicine. As a Ranger, Fairweather would be more familiar with cleaning and healing wounds, while Petilia could be better at healing sicknesses and poisons with her potions. And this wouldn't need to be a hard barrier, just like I'm talking about roles.

I dunno. Horizons never had the same spark that Pirates did for a lot of the cast. Sylt used to seem to enjoy it but he got discouraged when this big final case came up. I can't read Andy at all, seems like she's not having fun at all so I don't even ask her to play anymore. Groves always chooses to vidya over quest so I know he's mostly indifferent.
Weirdly Nopoy came in as a cameo but he's in the camp with you, Fidget, and Maali as people who are actually eager to play. Maybe if Lilly gets captured or something I can run with just you and Nopo and we can bust through content faster.

After designing everything that way, they kinda add in compatibility and alternative recipes for when other mods are present. Never fully grasping that doing all the content would require another few dozen diamonds emerald and now special rare mod minerals.. and how taxing that is to collect manually.. and then what should they do? Lower their resource cost for their machines? What if someone DID just install that mod and not that other? and why should YOUR mod be the cheap one? Is it somehow weaker or worse to deserve that?
Really gets complicated quick when you try to even think about how that should be balanced, much less why it should be done or when. And to expect mod authors who can't even be bothered to make their trees sub for wood in other recipes.. well..
