Focusing on protecting Earth from climate change and meteorites is all well and good, but eventually we're going to want to make sure that if something happens to Earth, we still have a home away from home. Climate change isn't really even that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. Oh sure, it might kill off billions, but we've got seven of those and change. It will be tragic if it happens, but the world will come into balance. With less humans, means less demand for industry, less cars being driven - things will get better.
We need to manage to not start a nuclear war.
>>785406We may be able to simply synthesize whatever we want before asteroid mining is practical. If we master rearranging atoms, then molecules are ours to command. Master fusion and fission, and we can make whatever molecules we want.

Or assuming the character would rest up, eat and get supplies before leaving a town for not-so-realistic.)
No.785640
>>7856381. This is a bit of a loaded question, since I'm running from two extremes at the moment.
In the Cyberpunk quest
S, there were several different people working in the same big city. I was planning on having them meet and do some interaction, but because I did soloquests because of the messed up schedule, they never did. The only major crossover was that Maali's Nurse worked at Wf's clinic. The two Fantasy Craft quests take place in completely different settings.
Most of my solo quests tend to have a story arch idea, at least in my head. For example, Andy's is going to be a three part story. I have a few ideas of things I want to see Maali's character react to. Going on what Sylt has said, I know how I want to end his quest. So I build a setting and let them loose, or try to at least.
2. Unless the quest specifically demands something like that, I just hand wave it. Cyberpunk tends to end the day's adventure when she gets back to her apartment. Maali has a Mayor's Building and ship to call home. Sylt is currently a mercenary on a ship, so it's all covered there.
Did you have something in mind?

I did enjoy the part where we met a nice spider though, and seeing the ladybug ranchers. And the little town on the lake was cool. In the Hollow, everything is Breezie-sized though.
I like how Arietty and her family make do with makeshift pilfered things, like using a stamp as a painting or earrings as climbing stakes.

Opinions like that are incredibly easy to form from a comfy modern western country that was never near Russia or was never a puppet state of the USSR.
No.785765
>>785762I would support Ukraine being an independent state, but they themselves fucked it.
Look at Finland, they used to be part of Russia. And they don't like Russians either. But what's this? Their government isn't a Russian puppet? How could this be?
It's because after WW2, they realized that they wouldn't make it if the Soviet Union got uppity. So they said "yes Russia, we'll keep your interests in mind. We'll trade together. And we con't join this NATO thing. That way, we don't have to get into costly wars."
And the fact that Finland exists proves it is possible. If Ukraine went that way, maybe in 30 years they'd be another Finland.
I don't say that Russia needds to control Ukraine, but compromises have to be made. Ukraine didn't want to and now they lost the Crimea.

No.785767
>>785765>But what's this? Their government isn't a Russian puppet? How could this be?Are you pretending to be retarded?
That's because Finland won the war against Russia. Ukraine didn't. They were part of the fucking USSR until it fell apart, just like Hungary.
And the people who were the sons of rich people who served The Party became their Russia-asslicking politicians… like in Hungary.
Do you see the pattern here?
These are countries that have been 'independent' for about two decades. Just before we were born they were literally still part of the USSR. There hasn't been a change of generations yet.
But the new generation has internet, and they can see what is going on in Russia and want no part of it, compared to what the West is.
