It has been seven years since Stiltson in the high northern docks, the last significant city-state, signed the Unity Agreement: making the Sunlantian Union a truly intimidating force. So far the Opaleyes of Lawforge have not demanded anything more than cooperation with a few safety laws to reduce monster attacks and support in defending other Sunlantis Union members. To ensure that the laws are being followed and help negotiate trading terms for more supplies, the Lawforgians regularly send a caravan to their allies containing a diplomat, a monster expert, and a trading expert in addition to the required guards to even arrive by hoof. It is now the time when they would visit Spiritos, the City of Souls, true home to every mage and old ally to Lawforge: of the first the sign the Unity Agreement even.. however..
The Council of Magi has summoned three experts of their own in concern of this pending arrival, sending them each and urgent summons to the city. Its gates open and its common ponies wandering around normally, but the Council guards certainly seemed anxious when they greeted you and escorted you inside the meeting hall, seats for all ten representatives on one side of their grand table decorated with a shimmering cloth, empty plates and seats for four visitors on the opposite. You might expect them all to be filled but, of course, only one of the Magi was there to meet you. Typical Wizards, only being where they want to. The old crystal pony doesn't smile, but simply nods under his beard. "I see you are as timely as your reputations let on. I am Blaze, the Magi of Elements, I trust that the the Magi of Illusion's message was at least basically informative about the situation?"
You know that they are having a problem with some 'over zealous' wizards doing 'dangerous and unstable' spells which 'may need the attention of a monster slayer'

The diamond dog's eyes go wide and he shutters.
"Okay, okay. So I didn't actually leave, he, Master Red, told me to leave for tea, but I didn't.. I saw through the door he was doing.. a summoning, but it wasn't just him.. another wizard was there, I couldn't see too well, but I heard one of the words used.. and then there were there creatures made of ice and when I saw they sealed the tower I just.. I sort of panicked and altered what I overheard a little, tried a spell on one of the small portals and I wound up outside.. They told me to stay here."
"T-that's all really."

Inside of the room is just what you'd expect from an Inn of this quality, decent soft looking bed, a small sofa, a small table: covered with books, a bathroom that reeks of perfumes, and a small chest to store valuables in.

His hoof gently picks up the page, he first lets his natural light shine onto it, humming to himself and them uses a small gem to pass over the page, words glowing briefly and the page itself becoming whiter. Its still a bit light, but you can read it now.
The way to open these secret passages is to use a specific artifact referred to as the 'orb of definition' as a key, in the slots indicated by symbols on the walls. "Well, I believe this is actually still in the Spiral. Around here." He indicates a place in the second floor. "As part of a statue."

Sit down at the small table, standing for too long is not healthy for me.
"I hope you don't mind me just barging in, but I have to distract your studies. I want to ask about the Spiral."

"Quite hoofy."
thanks for running!

Aqua surges with information, feeling a little giddy. "Well, if we're done here, I'd like to get going."

The snow is coming. It'll bring a lot more Diamond Dog attacks.

You are stationed in the modest town of Twente, home to a decent sized Magic Academy supplying goods to your forces against the Diamond Dog hordes. While your group has brought in plenty of supplies, you can still see the weariness in the eyes of the civilians, the constant attacks and ceaseless production makes it hard to rest.

But for now, you have a few moments to yourself, at least during this afternoon break. Several other Equines are busy working on fortifications, while a few merchants sell what food and candies they can to liven up spirits in town. Several loud noises can be heard coming from the nearby Academy.

It's a bigger tunnel, good if you need to shoot something.

It's also much quieter, with only the sound from the occasional waterfall. Though, you do hear some music from up ahead.

Follow the music

The tunnel connects to a massive cavern. It's so long and large that the darkness hides most of it, except for what looks like a hotel overwatching a cliff. It is angled a bit to the side, and the piano music adds an occasional banging to it.

"Is, this your base Pony? It's kind of, bad."

"No it's not!"
Kinda tired Knight

She gives you a disbelieving look as you all continue to march towards it.

Then the music stopped.

And a couple of Goats pointed guns at you through the Windows.

It has been a long and relatively quiet flight to the edge of the plains. You managed to avoid towns on your chosen route. You've been in the right area since last night but, Its late afternoon before spot what looks like stone buildings covered in moss, and washed over by the river water a few times judging by the discoloration. You land your ship nearby, anchoring it down to a particularly heavy boulder.

"But you can't rein in a crew without wits!"

"Guess I got wits. At least I have good taste in bards if anything."

"Would you say…. your crew has the best bard in it?"

"Yeah. I'd say that."

"Then we'll just have to make sure we're the best crew, and I know I'll be ready!"

You high tail it out of the library (as much as one can loaded down with weaponry) back to the outskirts of Las Pegasus' North Town. You find most traders here dealing in small food items and even smaller weaponry, though some might be likely to give you a few caps to jangle for the trouble you went through.

Being a Ranger of Equestria is never easy.
Especially not in the desert.
Even moreso if you lose a leg and have to sell everything to get a new one, just so you can get back to protecting the innocent ponies from outlaws again.
But it's the life you chose, and what you are good at.

Even if it leads you into strange wars between mercenaries and bandits who are shooting up the town.

You start tailing them slowly.
Even the coward is behind them closely, a small knife at the ready. You can effortlessly take one of them down and he'll probably get the other, so you'd only have to worry about the third.

You soon see who was shooting. It is a middle aged stallion beating a zombie to pulp with the butt of his gun. On the other side of the road there is a mare with a giant claymore, fighting off another two undead.

Uh…those are my guys right?

Nope. They seem to be from this town.

Kill those 2 zombies and prepare to fight the third

You takedown one of the zombies while the sheriff shanks the other in the back of the head, driving it to the ground.
The third one turns around with a snarl, but its brains splatter all over the ground, coming from the stallion who was fighting on the other side of the street just now.
The moment you'd turn to thank him there is a flurry of shots, wounding his flank and making him collapse in pain.

The mare cries out a worried "Dad!" but is still too busy fighting the last zombie.

The sheriff sees it before you, starting to panic.
"What are those, WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE?!"

Three more undead, all coming out from the alley near the stallion that just got shot. It's nothing you've ever seen in your life.

Leading them is a huge diamond dog, one of the paws hacked off and replaced with a row of sharp blades.
All across his chest and abdomen are thick metal plates, driven into the body with large nail and hooks.

The morning after, Rushin' clambers up onto the bus and spends most of the long trip through the mountains sleeping next to Bang on their seat, all the way until they come up to their stop to look down at the town below.

Rushin' walks out with Bang, whistling as he looks down at the fishing town. "Yeah, but, hopefully they do some cruises too, I bet we have to go out pretty far."

"And we're not gonna be in the town a whole lot, we're going out on the ocean. The high seas!" He wraps a hoof around Bang, "Think about it! Captain Rushin'!"

Flicker leans against DB to get warm.

"But I have to worry: worry about finding something to do! I mean, look at this," Minty says, proceeding to motion her hooves at the serene tranquility that only a foggy fishing village could achieve.

"Now see, everything Alaster just said, except the lich, sounds way more fun than being here…kinda…it's at least something…."

"Or we could bail and go see these other places without fighting these dumb lich thingies. That's always an option too, ya know," she says with a big frown.

"I wouldn't let you captain a dingy," Minty says flatly, not looking overly convinced.

After getting back onto the bus, the drive down is just as twisty and turny, allowing the whole class to play Jell-O on the way down, instead of just Minty. Darkness falls, and the fog creeps in even thicker, rising above the town and up into the mountains.

Almost halfway down, Miss DB stops, flicking the high-beams on and off, grumbling to herself. "Alright, everyone, we'll have to sleep in here tonight," she says, "This fog's too thick to drive through, and I don't want to run us all off the edge."

It is a lovely Saturday afternoon. The weather pegasuses made sure there wasn't a cloud left in the sky after this morning's light rain, and the ponies of the town are hustling and bustling about.
You, Troy and Cloudbloom, are no different. Though your adventures are currently taking place in your house.

>Hangs head in failure

"You promised"

"I'll ask mother when we get back".

And so, you trudge home, laden with groceries. There, you are received by your mother, who has already made lunch. Turns out that it's hay and cheese sandwich day.
That night, you dine upon a lovely stew, made with the ingredients you went to fetch. All in all, a good day.

Quest End.

>You continue to spend time with Luna despite being unable to separate yourselves from Nightmare Moon
>"Truly," Luna says, placing a hoof on your hand. "While I do not wish for her to be here, I would not push her away."
>Luna tells you more about her past, herself, and Celestia
>According to Luna, she and Celestia (as alicorns) have always been and known that their purpose was to move the moon and the sun
>Over the years they sought out others like themselves, but only managed to stumble across Discord in that time.
>When Equestria was first being formed as a country, Starswirl called upon them for leadership and tutored them for their role as princesses and guardians of the country
>No others came before them, but there has always been a natural force of Harmony within their world
>Until Celestia and Luna had taken up the responsibility of harboring its growth, the flow of Harmony in their world was unpredictable and chaotic
>Starswirl believed that Luna and Celestia could use what power they had for the betterment of this world and they believed him
>Curious to see if you can change your form, you proceed to use what magical ability you possess to do so
>Your first change into a pony comes easily, partly due to the dream making things easier
>Luna favors this form greatly
>You change again into a Diamond Dog, and then once more into a near flawless copy of Baron before reverting back to your pony form
>You lie with Luna before the fireplace you've created and the two of you fall asleep

Alright. Calling it here. Pretty sure you guys know what comes next so Probably not gonna be a session next week. Gonna try and work on the thing. When that's all finished and distributed, then the quest will resume and you can all go on to kicking some Tiamat ass.

Thanks for the session A.J.!

>Pretty sure you guys know what comes next

She was fairly open about it.

There's gonna be two versions…or at least I'll try to do it that way. One with Luna, one with Luna and NMM

Looking forward to it

You have arrived. After a journey from the Mountainhomes into the forbidding wilderness beyond, your harsh trek has finally ended. Your party of seven is to make an outpost for the glory of your civilization.
There are almost no supplies left save the ones you thought to stock up on, but with stout labor comes sustenance. Whether by bolt, plow, or hook, provide for yourselves. You are expecting a supply caravan just before Winter arrives, but it is Spring now. Enough time to delve secure lodgings, ere the hagfish get hungry. A new chapter of diamond dog history begins at this place.

Strike the earth!

"What we can do is start one, then the other. What's we build the basic seawall, we'll have an idea of how much material we'll really need."

Your two groups join you.
"Well? How's it going?"

"True enough. I'm mostly just worried about getting enough wood for anything."
"Well enough. I can at least start drafting some boat designs. We shouldn't need much more than one or two though."

"About what I expected. A quick and simple seawall seems like our only realistic option. We'll have to get in more supplies first before the real wall takes over."

"Great. We were talking and think we should bring the fisherdogs in on the boat design."

"Alright, we'll spread the word to the other groups."
