In the middle of this Age of Piracy, there are those who stand up against their oppressors.

Ordered to inspect an island that might be useful in the future, they find that they aren't the only ones looking ahead.

556589

#Torm and Klava
You find yourselves heading back to the ship, to report on what you've encountered after dealing with a Pegasus and Gryphon pirate.

Both of you, roll a d10 to hold on to the boat oars.

#Hopscotch, Knox, and Gunhilda
The Donkeylamia is sailing off, but not before leaving you with a present, a horribly altered Pegasus whose skull has exceeded the skin of his face and whose wings flap in an unholy manner.

After the oar tries to pull away from you, you yank it back in. There's a good sized tooth stuck to it.

>>556626
You lose the oar as something pulls it away. Trying to see where it went, there's another set of eyes looking back at you from underneath the water.

>>556631

You get it back, square in the chest as it is shoved against you. A pair of webbed fingers grab on to the boat and starts pulling the rest of the body up. A strange, naked Diamond Dog with half of the face of a shark reaches over and smirks.

"Our priority is getting back to ship. We go above the canopy now and find it! Hopefully they'll have a signal up by now!"

556746

>>556744
"Indeed I do."

The following takes place before the ship leaves port.

All vendors and personnel are available.

559192

>>559191
I suppose I ought to check out the shops before telling the girls the news. What all places are still selling stuff?

559193

559194

>>559192
>>559193
Mostly food vendors trying to make a quick buck from the new arrivals. There's a small goat selling clothes, a Diamond Dog peddling weapons, and almost anything else a small colony like this can sell to all the arrivals you rescued.

559195

>>559191
I suppose I may as well purchase something for myself.
Onwards to the weapon shop!

559196

>>559194
I'll check out the clothes shop first. See if they have anything the girls might like to wear.

559197

>>559195
You'll have to fight your way through, after the attack, he's been raking in the dough. He's got plenty of small weapons and ammunition if that's what you're after.

>>559196
A small goat boasts about his skills and the quality of his clothing.

"What can I do for such a dashing lad like yourself? Perhaps a new scarf to replace the one you have now, or how about a tricorn hat? I hear those are all the rage back in Equestria."

559198

>>559197
Heh. I need not fight!
I fly up and perch atop someone's shoulders and look over his wares.
Any specialty items?

559199

>>559197
"A tricorn hat sounds rather appealing, but I'm also shopping for my six girls. We're going to be heading into some situations where things can get very chaotic, and I'd like to have something for them to wear so we can identify each other easily."

559200

>>559198
Pony rolls not to panic about the predator that just landed on it. '1d10'

The colony has some strict weapons rules, so all he can really do is make knives that would work decently as spear heads and long pieces of metal that might accept one. His ammunition, however, is a bit more varied. He's got some 'poisonous' shot, as some fine better burning powder made from the local materials. He's had to refine it to supply the town guard's weapons.

>>559199
"Well, color would be easy enough. Good at a distance too, but it might drawback by making you easier to spot. I do have a selection of earrings, hats, and other accesories that might help. How about some belts? Different colors and sizes. you can even add a pouch to them."

Roll #1 4 = 4

559201

>>559200
Oooh.
I purchase some of the poisonous shot and the better burning powder and completely pay no mind to the panicking tiny horse below me.

559202

>>559200
"Hmn… how about mixing it up a bit, same color but different items? Let's see, Fisher would probably like a bandana, Citrine would like a scarf of her own… What do you have in purple?"

559203

>>559191
First I need to check my slaves for illness, with that Scald around.

559204

>>559201
He hands you a bag, though it's harder to grab with that pony moving about.

#'Poisonous' Shot
On Critical hits, the enemy suffers an additional wound of damage. It's best not to ask where it comes from

#Better Burning Powder
On rolls of 9 or higher, the shot exceeds its limits and burts when it strikes a target, dealing an extra hit to all nearby enemies.

You can pick only one for the duration of a mission, unless you return to the ship to rearm.

>>559202
He checks some of his bins at lighting speeds.

"A hat that I must admit is not my best work, I'll give you a discount on it to rid me of its presence, as well as a thin cape to cover the body."

559205

>>559204
"All right, let me see." What do they look like?

559206

>>559204
Ooooh.
Fancy!
I pay for my purchases and finally leave my posting upon the tiny horse.
I go see how my servants are fairing now at the tailor's.

559207

>>559203
Singer and Amadi are the first ones available on the top deck. They've been taken up to help load cargo. There's a sleepy Unicorn with a rifle guarding them.

>>559205
Like he mentioned, the hat has a few areas where it was restitched. You have to pay attention to see them, since the Goat is a good tailor to start, but they can stand out.

The cape goes around the neck and would clip on to regular clothing so it doesn't trip its owner. Quite plain, but that's what it is for.

>>559206
You pass Torm and the Goat peddling his wares. Inside of the building. Murrah is covered in clothing. She seems to be having some difficulties. Kuvasz, however, seems focused. He's working on a shirt.

559208

>>559207
Any symptoms on Singer?

"Singer, how's your skin been?"

559209

>>559207
"Hmn, I'll take them both. Also, I'd like six matching belts and a new scarf, if you have that."

559210

>>559208
Singer gives you a confused look, but then looks herself over as much as possible.

"I'm fine, but why are you asking?"

>>559209
The goat jumps in glee and seems to hover in the air for a moment. He runs around to some of his racks and plops the order on a table. The bill comes out to be most of your available funds at the moment. The rest is promised when you return.

559211

>>559210
So I'll owe him money when I get back, or I'll get the stuff when I return? Either way, I'll take what I have and head on back to the ship. I hope the girls are allowed a break soon.

559212

>>559211
You only have enough on you for a hayburger and maybe a soft drink if you can get it marked down. The rest of your pay is in promisory notes, to be paid when you complete your mission.

The girls aren't going to be getting a break soon. Reaching the ship, you can see Gravy holding up the rope that allows Desmayo to clean the side of the boat.

559213

>>559210
"Mister Torm is ill with an infectious pony disease. Do be careful, we're a lot of people in one room for disease to spread. Seen any rats around, by the way? "

559214

>>559213
This time, it's Amadi who panics and hides behind Singer.

"Is, is it deadly? Should we be worried?" Amadi asks.

Singer doesn't seem to care. "We've been trying to clear out the mousies, but they keep showing up in some of the corners and down below, in the bilge is a favorite spot."

559215

>>559212
Hmn… well, guess I better just tell them. Maybe give these two their belts, see if they like them?
Or are they not allowed to wear anything?

559216

>>559215
They'll get hassled for wearing it now. It should wait until they're in your room, at least.

When you tell them about the Scald, Gravy assures you that she's not worried as she scoots a few feet away. Desmayo can be heard shouting in protest to the sudden movement.

559217

>>559216
Chuckle at that. "I don't blame you for being worried. Maybe the fact that you're not ponies means you'll be resistant to it. Either way, it'll probably be best to try and keep you separate from me until it clears up." Well, got to go find Fisher now. This is going to be bad.

559218

>>559214
"Doesn't seem to be, but it's unpleasant. It mainly hits ponies, so just help look out for singer. And thanks."

Going to need an enclosure first. Ship have any spare boxes? Wooden and big.

559219

>>559217
Fisher is with Viatka today. She's already wearing a jacket. Viatka is with her today in helping them scrub the walls. The Gryphon guard spends his time doing wing-ups.

>>559218
Lots. If not on the ship, then just off of it on the docks. The Persimmon, the ship you are on, is taking in supplies for its return trip. How big do you want it?

559220

>>559219
Big enough to be a good arena for a shrunken servant and rats. Maybe I should get another to actually keep the rats in…

559221

>>559219
Well shit. Guess I might as well get both of these over with.
"Hey girls. Mind if I give your coats a quick brush? There's a reason, just… let me do this, just to see if I'm right."
Is their fur already starting to fall out?

559222

>>559220
Plenty lying around, though you might want to buy your own extra rations to feed them. Iolite won't be happy if she finds out you've been feeding rats.

There's some groups selling some recently harvested food, though some vendors might be more trustworthy than others.

>>559221
Roll a 2d10 to spot her troubles.

559223

>>559222
Let's see if they're already sick… '2d10'

Roll #1 1, 5 = 6

559224

>>559222
Just a few rations to keep them alive.
I don't have any miniature weapons yet, right?

559225

>>559223
The guard thinks you're trying to get frisky with her. He coughs out loud to remind you of his presence.

Roll another 2d10

559226

>>559224
Not unless you count forks and toothpicks. If you are interested, you could try the toy store, or see if the smith has any scraps he can sell that you can improvise.

559227

>>559225
Darn it, I can't let my mind start wandering now! '2d10'

Roll #1 4, 5 = 9

559228

>>559227
She uses you as support as she starts sneezing. Her breathing is labored and she's sweating.

559229

>>559228
"Fisher, be honest with me. Do you feel sick?"

559230

>>559229
"I'm fine… I can clean up. They won't give the other girls more work if I stay up here."

559231

>>559226
Time to visit.
Ask about scraps I can request to be shared into small swords, maybe a tiny bow to shoot toothpicks.

559232

>>559230
Take her just out of earshot of the guard but still in sight. Failing that, I whisper to her.
"I asked you to be honest with me. "I'm fine" isn't correct when you're having trouble breathing and you're sweating. What's. Wrong?"
Check her for a fever. '1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7

559233

>>559231
"Huh, are you Gryphons all into those little models? I had another one come by some weeks ago and ask for similar things." The Zebra smith asks.

>>559232
She's pretty warm.

"They'll make Viatka work harder if I don't help. She's my friend, almost like family, like you, and I can't let her take my burden."

559234

>>559233
"Hmm? What did they look like?"
Sound like anyone I know?

559235

>>559233
"You have a fever."
Sigh and rub my head.
"This isn't even why I came here…" Explain to her about the Scald.
"So you see, you're probably already sick with Scald, and now I find you running a temperature, short of breath, and sweating up a storm? Look… I won't take you away from the work, if it's so important to you. But if you're sick we need to get you treated before it gets worse."

559236

>>559234
"Don't take it as a sign of my tastes, but even I could tell he was strong. Under all those feathers, I don't doubt he could'a chopped me up if he just so much as squinted at me."

Roll to recall from the extra description she gives you.

"For the bow, ask the old Toy maker. Wouldn't put it above him to have made a few since the attack."

559237

>>559235
"I'm sorry I'm so useless." She drops her head. "Even as property, I'm no good." Sweat falls to the floor.

559238

>>559236
'1d10'
That might be the description of the killer about.

Roll #1 4 = 4

559239

>>559238
Except for his strenght, she doesn't really offer a good description of it. Stretching a little, she could have described Knox.

"When you're done with the little props, show them too me. I want to see what you Gryphons do with them."

559240

>>559237
"Don't you dare talk like that," I growl as I force her head up to look into my eyes.
"I don't ever want to hear you talk about yourself like that again, you hear me? Despite how horrible you're feeling, here you are, working your hardest, not because you have to, but because you want to protect those close to you. That's not what a useless pony does. That's what a responsible mare does.
There's no shame in admitting you're feeling weak. That's why you have other ponies to help you bear the load. That's what I'm here for."
Give her a breath-taking kiss, only letting up once my lungs start screaming for air.
"Now tell me exactly what feels bad. I'll see if one of the doctors can identify it from the symptoms so we know how to treat it."

559241

>>559239
"So when can I pick up the gear? I'm using them for training, incidentally."

559242

>>559240
She tries to smile when you finally release her from your embrace, but she starts coughing. "It's, probably just a fever. I'm really hot, and I get dizzy a few times if I stand up too fast."

Doctor Perche is on the deck, if you want to talk to him, but don't forget you are showing concern for a Pirate. He might not be so cooperative.

>>559241
"Here, I'm just having fun with these, but how would a Gryphon like you use this to train? I could jam them into you and you wouldn't even notice."

559243

>>559242
"Things like rats become a lot more dangerous when you shrink yourself. I just needed weapons. I haven't actually tried it yet, I'm surprised someone else thought of the same thing."

559244

>>559242
"All right, I'll see what I can do."
Catch her before she returns to her work.
"And don't think this means we're not still on for tonight," I whisper huskily, running a hoof down her wing. "The fact that you're sick is just all the more reason to do something to make you feel good."
Could I check at the clinic? They'd probably be more cooperative.

559245

>>559243
"Nah, you Gryphons are just crazy. Just leave the bits at the door."

>>559244
The workers at the clinic would, but do you want to risk taking a braned pirate into town, to an area filled with the injured by an attack they blame on them?

559246

>>559245
Dang it. Well, I could just pass it off as being worried she's contagious… might as well find Doc Perche and get this over with.

559247

>>559245
"Thank you for your services."

Time to see the toymaker. After paying

559248

>>559246
She rubs her head against your body as you walk. Your warmth makes her feel more comfortable.

Doctor Perche is a black Stallion, enjoying a few drinks of whiskey. "What can I do ya' for?"

>>559247
Of course, an honorable Gryphon like you would never do such a thing.

The Toymaker today is an old Unicorn. He's starting to fall asleep, sinc eh e isn't getting much customers still. Most of the people are still keeping their children inside. He looks at you when he sees your interested in his wares and walks up to you.

"Shopping for something for the little ones?"

559249

>>559248
"Fisher here seems to be sick, and I'd like you to see if you can find out what she's got."
Stand my ground; this guy's going to help me out, whether he likes it or not.

559250

>>559249
"Oh, she your special pony?"

Rolling for inebration. '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

559251

>>559248
"Haha, one could put it that way. Do you have any miniature bows?"

559252

>>559250
"One of several, but yes. She seems to have a fever, sweating, and difficulty breathing."

559253

>>559250
>>559249
>>559252
He's well enough to recognize symptoms.

"It's a fever, alright, but it could be the flu hiding itself this time of year. 'N back here, she needs to keep it covered. Could be bad. I might advise against activity. Some liquor and sleep will be all she needs."

But not well enough to recognize the branding.

"I say, the older I get, the harder it is to understand the way the youth try to dress themselves up and down."

>>559251
"Let me see." '1d10'
"Trying to get them to pick a weapon? With all that's going on, I'm not surprised folks are trying to get the kids to learn to defend themselves."

Roll #1 1 = 1

559254

>>559253
>>559251
"Alls I have left is just one, a little toy Earth pony. Like the Guards from back in Poneland-Lethuania. His bow works, at least, but I can get you a crossbow if you like."

559255

>>559253
"All right. Thank you for your time."
Let's get going.
"Alright, Fisher, you heard the sawbones. Liquor and sleep for you."

559256

>>559254
"Could I have one of each, please?"

559257

>>559255
"Funny, this is just like before I met you. No matter how things change, they still stay the same."

>>559256
"Sure, I need to sell what I can. Been kinda slow the last few days. Make sure they treasure it, okay? I might not be long for this world and they might not get anymore!" He starts laughing.

Pause after next post.

559258

>>559257
"Well, not entirely the same."
As I have her lay down in the bed, I suddenly grab the blanket with my TK, wrapping her up until only her head is sticking out.
"Can't have you misbehaving, can we… and besides, you're not supposed to be doing anything."
Rub a hoof between where her wings must be right now, using TK… creatively.
"So, be a good girl, and just relax…and Fade to Black"

A little while later, rub her cheek affectionately.
"So, ready to go to sleep like the doc said? Or should we try again?"

559259

>>559258
She smiles and pulls you close.

"Again."

#PAUSE

559260

>>559257
"Your works shall make a difference in the lives of my charges, Master craftsman. This I assure you."

559261

>>559260
"Well, I'm a sucker for compliments. I'll give yo a discount for taking some of my older stuff. I wish them the best with their new toys."

#PAUSE

559262

>>559259
Nip at her ears playfully as my hooves wander lower and my TK massages her wings.
"All right then… you asked for it."
And on that day there was much sexing

560910

Wrecking crew here.

560911

I've just signed up for the Pirate Hunting fleet, and am now aboard the ship. Hope that at least some of these ponies know how to fight.

560912

>>560910
Oh. That's a big diamond dog. She should be strong.
"Hello there."

560913

Just going to be making my rounds.

560914

>>560912
"Mmm? Oh, afternoon."

560915

>>560914
"Are you one of the Pirate Hunters? You look like you know how to fight."
>>560913
You see a heavily armored buffalo cow talking with Klava. Her helmet is thick and extended like a battering ram.

560916

>>560915
"When it's necessary. I like to live by the philosophy of preventing conflict."

560917

>>560916
Snort and paw the ground.
"You can't prevent conflict. There's always somepony out there looking to cause trouble. That's why we have to fight in the first place."

560918

>>560915
"And who would you be? New arrival, are you? You seem a mighty warrior."

560919

>>560917
"You might be surprised what you can do with a little nonlinear thinking."

560920

>>560918
Nod to you as you approach. What do you look like right now?
"Indeed I am, and I could say the same about you. The way you carry yourself shows you know your way around a fight."
>>560919
"Charging straight and true always works out all right for me."

560921

>>560920
Nod slowly. "There's a time and place for that. But at Tver, there was a siege that had lasted four years. The generals had tried charging straight and lost thousands to the cannons. They called in the sappers to ruin their defenses through subterfuge, and the siege ended with tens of casualties."

560922

>>560920
In my battle dress, swords sheathed.

"Thank you very much for your complement, I could say the same about you. How do you choose to fight?"

560923

>>560921
"But somepony had to hold their attention so the subterfuge wouldn't be discovered. That's where I come in."
Thump my helmet proudly.
"Not too good at sneaking around, but I'm not too easy to take down either."
>>560922
"Bash them into the ground and keep hitting them until they stop moving. Though judging by the swords on your side, you probably use fancier methods."

560924

>>560923
"A good sapper makes their own cover, but I get what you're trying to say. I did mention there's a time and place."

560925

>>560924
"Yes, and I get what you're saying too. The best fight's a fight won without bloodshed. I just can't stand ponies who think there's never a need to fight."

560926

>>560925
"Eh, I'm ex-military. I'm a pragmatist, not a pacifist."

560927

>>560926
"Ex-military? I knew you looked like a fighter. Where did you serve?"

560928

>>560923
"For you it functions. Myself, I am learned in the School of the Stormblade. We are taught to be like swift and destructive like hurricanes, our swords as bolts of precise lightning. How were you taught?"

560929

>>560927
"Novdogod, 7th Sappers. The Iron Moles."

560930

>>560928
"The same way the Stonehead Tribe has always been taught; to be like the avalanche and the rockslide, unstoppable and unrelenting as we crush those in our path, supporting each other as our strength carries us onward."
>>560929
"I won't pretend to know about the Iron Moles, but I've heard that Novdogod's sappers are among the best. I look forward to fighting alongside you."

560931

>>560930
"Mm, you too."

560932

>>560931
"So, what can I expect from our foes? Are they cowardly and shrinking, or arrogant and foolhardy?"

560933

>>560932
"Outside the realm of the law there are all kinds."

560934

>>560933
"Hence why I asked to know more about these particular criminals."

560935

>>560934
"It is no different. We set sail for new islands now that we've dropped off our passengers in this town. If I had to commit to one or the other, I would call them aggressive opportunists."

560936

>>560930
"You are used to working in a group, then? I hope you will find us good comrades."

560937

>>560935
"I see. I believe they will be surprised when they come up against an opponent they can't take down."
>>560936
"I hope so too. Know that when things grow dark, I will lend you my strength so we can all hold the line."

563290

Captain Camarillo orders the Anchor be raised and that the crew prepare for bombardment of the island. You've hit upon a Pirate holdout, and they won't give up without a fight.

#Klava, Torm, and Charlene
You are all back on the boat. Torm has been ordered to help with the bombardment, while C.C. has verified that the pills are fine. Charlene has been ordered to prepare for combat as Torm will help with the Cannon.

#Hopscotch, Knox, and Gunhilda
You find yourselves in the woods of the middle island. The pirates are arriving and will attempt to use this island to counterattack with their cannons. Hold them off as much as possible before you attract more attention to yourselves!

Flyers, pick an area to patrol and try to silence any enemies, but be quick about it and don't be afraid to run. Cannon fire may fall on your locations because of the light coming from your location!

I guess I'll just chill with CC if I don't have orders.

The Ship sets sail. It's up to you to open the initial attacks.

I'll take over Torm's shooting from here.

There's a banging on your doors as the crew starts running around.

"We're gonna drop you off as we pass the island. Get yourselves up on deck!"

>>563308
There's a pair of ponies, a Crystal one and a Pegasus. They've got Binoculars out and are looking out to sea.

"Which means that, if I choose to spare your life, you owe me. If I take you as a servant, that will be because I own your life, and so you will still owe me for choosing to spare you. Do you understand? You will not only be property, you will be property in debt to me."

Back on the boat, the crew is running about. They weren't expecting so much resistance from the island and are rushing to prepare the ship to sail and loading weapons to see what happens next. Some stare off into the dark night, hoping to spot an enemy vessel before they get themselves spotted.

The Captain is overlooking maps with the Navigator and Doctor Peche is checking up on Torm. You have a few minutes to chat before the next orders come down.

One of the sailors who gets a look at him vomits. Running under the deck towards the Doctor, there's a moment of pause when he sees the Pony.

His mouth is tied shut. His two hind legs are gone, and so is his front left leg. Knox's bandages did a good job of stemming the blood flow, but the damage is still there. His eyes are vacant now, though he's still breathing.

Obe just sighs.
"After all this, I just don't care. Just tell me what I charge them under and I'll take your word for it."

When you get to the lower deck, you find Aqua, the former sea pony, sporting the pirate look. Her skin seems to be regrowing on her back half, but there is plenty exposed. On top of that, they're trembling under the weight of the collar they have her in.

>>573233
He starts breathing rapidly in between his tears. There's very little you can do now except just try to keep him from hurting himself and stopping the bleeding.

Captain Camarillo has a dour expression, though. He's watching through his spyglass as some of the other people who worked for the smuggling operation are heading towards their boats.

"Oh, you're leg is full of scratches! Here, I can take care of that at least. You stay where you are!"

She flies over to her little house and you can hear her get to work on brewing something up. All the little things she has in there start making their tiny little noises.

>>575232
"I'd like to, but…" Citrine starts talking, "we didn't stay alive this long without being good at seeing long-term. Part of me still doesn't like it, but I'd at least like to stick with you, you know. It hasn't been anywhere as bad as it could be."
