The party is in the blackened, ruined Temple of Luna in the Forsaken District of the city. The entire building is filled with a bleak, oppressive gloom and many of the shadows here have melded with the falls, floor, and furniture. At the back of the temple, under a massive statue of Luna, stands a jet black alicorn. It remains still during the fighting, not even breathing.

Fourteen treacherous Discordian paladins are arranged against you all. Roughly half are wounded from the fighting, but the rest are unharmed. Their numbers consists half of pegasi, and half of an assortment of other races. They have some strange, unknown plan for the Shadow which is bound in this temple, but have been far from straightforwards.

With you all stand six Nature paladins and a paladin of The Laughing One. Each of them are slightly hurt, but can keep on fighting.

>>532088
You set fire to one of the helpless Discordians. He screams and rolls as the magical flames scorch him, and when they burn out he is nothing but a charred husk.

>>532089
You hook one of the Discordians with your horns and toss him into the air. He hits a pair of pegasi and knocks them to the ground, then lands awkwardly on his leg and snaps it in half.

>>532091
A rubber chicken filled with concrete hits you upside the head.
"You're right! We're making history this time!

>>532092
The other buffalo choo choos harder and slams into your side, forcing you off course and into a wall.

>>532093
A pony throws a chunk of cheese into your mouth, and you cheerfully chew on the ricotta instead. Meanwhile, a band of Discordians pops up in the back and starts making a horrible racket.

You kick hard at the donkey but he scampers away before you can knock him down.

You nearly skewer a downed pegasi's wings as she tries to stand. She screams and falls down again.

>>537391
You stick your mouth in her hear and start chanting a sermon of jokes in her ear.

>>537392
You shoot at the mare Zulu is targeting, sticking a second bolt inside the almost dead pony.

>>537393
You get spun around and hit him in the head. You are wearing a helmet and he isn't, so blood quickly starts to drip down your face from the gash you open near his horns. He stays standing, but only just.

>>537410
An earth pony wearing a spandex suit grabs a wooden bench from the ground and smashes it over your back before you can fire.
"OOOOH YEAH!"

>>537411
He does indeed. Your sharp shield cuts open his midsection as you slam it into him. A few of his guts come out of his hole as he passes out and falls to the ground, bleeding heavily.

"Do you SMELL what this pony's cookin?"

>>537416
The other pony steps out of the way long enough to let you tag her, then leaps up. He grabs your horns and spins around your head a few times before making you faceplant on the ground.
"OH YEAH!"

>>537417
A goat, dressed in a dress-shirt and blank slacks, hits you on the head.
"No interfering!"

>>537418
You stab him with your dagger, which punches through his resistant uniform. He yelps and falls to the ground.
Another pony rips the leg off your minion before playing it like a xylophone. After the song ends the skeleton falls apart.

>>537419
You leap over the spandexed ponies and land on her back, healing her up. Some of the residual magic seeks out the other buffalo and heals Brutus.

The pegasi around the shadowcorn are still up to something
"Hurry up, featherbrains!"

537465

>>537459
There are no more pegasi flying around. You try to arc your shot over the defending Discordians to hit a chanter, but one of them raises his hammer to act as a lightning rod. He jigs and jerks then collapses, but is still breathing.

>>537460
You try to shoot through the defenders, but cannot. At least the spread of party forks was wide enough to hit all five defenders.

>>537461
One of the Discordians lowers a spear as you charge. He gets it around your shield and it bites through a chink in your armor, stopping you short.

>>537463
You shoot the helpless defender, making him bleed.

>>537464
You give him a great big healing hug and pat him on the back until he coughs up the splinters.

The paladins have fallen back to the group, waiting to be healed.

Andelia: 6/6 hits
Bessy: 5/5 hits 5/5 Wounds
Brutus: 3/8 hits 5/5 Wounds
Dreamkicker: 6/6 hits 5/5 wounds

Paladins: Hurting

Ten Discordians remain, one is helpless.
The pegasi have erected something small around the shadowcorn. You can see it between the legs of the defenders.

You call him a meaniepant hornhead and say that he has cheesy fartbreath in an attempt to get him fired up. Instead, it looks like you might have hurt his feelings.
If Dreamkicker fails his next action it will be an autocritfail.

>>537467
You bounce a stone off the downed defender's hat and crack his skull. He's still alive, but barley hanging on.

>>537469
You shoot the downed defender. The beam of light sears a crater deep into his chest, killing him.

>>537470
You try to grab it, but all that does is let him stab you all the way down to the bone.

The paladins finish healing themselves and prepare the charge the line.

Your shield misses and returns to you.

>>537473
Embarased, as it turns out, you jiggle your shot. The bolt bounces off a pillar and hits you in the rump. It chips a bone, but you manage to stay upright.

>>537474
You run over and tap Brutus with a glowing pink hoof. He is as good as new in a heartbeat at the rest of the energy goes to pop the arrow out of Dreamy's butt and heal the wound.

>>537475
You shoot one of the defenders with your arrow, which comes apart and sinks into him. He snorts and shakes his head.

>>537476
You arc it to high and shoot the statue instead, giving Luna a streamer goatee.

The paladins start to charge, but break and wheel back suddenly as the next bit happens.

Andelia: 6/6 hits
Bessy: 5/5 hits 5/5 Wounds
Brutus: 8/8 hits 5/5 Wounds
Dreamkicker: 6/6 hits 5/5 wounds
Happyhorn: 5/5 hits
Pomelo: 5/5 hits
Paladins: Healthy

Five Discordians remain.

The grey glow grows larger and brighter, until the entire group of Discordians is blocked by a flickering, grey ball of light. There is a loud clapping sound and springs explode in all directions as the light bubble pops. Only the defenders are left. The shadowcorn and pegasi are gone.
"You guys ready?"
"Ready!"
"For Discord!"
"Do it!"

537478

Your armor ripples and clanks around you as you shift into your supernatural fighting form.

>>537481
Maybe if there were three of you, but the world doesn't deserve that kind of good fortune. The matrix is too powerful for you to close on your own.

>>537482
He hits you to the side with a hammer.

>>537483
Your bolt punches through his neighbor's shield and hits his neck, but he doesn't go down.

The paladins get ready to charge again, but the Discordian's break their lines.
"Gogogogo!"
The ones on either side of the middle Discordian and balance on his back. He reaches up to grab their hooves as the next two jump onto their backs. More hooves are linked as the last one jumps up onto them and links hooves to complete the circle.
"For Discord!"
"All the snack bars!"

They start to rotate counterclockwise. Slowly at first, but a second later they are spinning too fast to see. Faster and faster they go, until they are a blur. Then, as they slow down, it becomes obvious they have changed. In their place is now a large, spinning wheel devided up into small segments. A clicker clicks at the top like it were a versicle roulette table. One the edges or the wheel in each segment things like snowflakes, flames, stones, and chains are drawn. The wheel can be studied to see what other things are drawn.

The wheel noisily clacks around and around, but is quickly slowing down.

The wheel catches on fire, but continues to spin without taking damage.
This must be a divine construct. You've not seen one of these since the time Pinkie and Bessy accidentally filled your room with unpoppable balloons.

>>537486
You try to small into the wheel, but the wooden pegs on its edge catch your armor and throw you up into the air.

>>537487
>>537488
The wheel can no longer see where it is going or what its result will be.

>>537489
You can see zombies, a few dragons, some explosions, and a single skull and crossbones.

The wheel is getting slower and slower now. You can easily track each shape as it spins.

537492

>>537491
Ah balls. And dogs don't always land on their feet. Once I hit the ground, and if I'm not helpless, go around the giant wheel and see what's behind it.

537509

The Discordians and shadow alicorn are gone. Pomelo is coming apart as he tries to stop a Discordian Danger Wheel by himself, but Bessy and the Party Paladin rush in to help.

>>537500
>>537504
You and the Party Paladin flank Pomelo as he begins to dematerialize. Pouring your love, friendship, and laughter into Pomelo. Using him as a catalyst, the two of you pull his missing pieces back from beyond and channel your goddess's power into the wheel. It slows, slows, slows as the ticker moves past a dragon.
The very next segment is the only skull and crossbones on the wheel.

>>537503
The statue is still there. The Discordians are all gone, as is the shadowy alicorn.

>>537505
You think a heartfelt prayer, and start to feel warm inside. The feeling bubbles up inside you as you focus on the wheel, pushing hard to keep it off that skull. Harder and harder you press, but it won't stop. Suddenly, you make a noise.

It's a strange noise. Something none of you thought might be possible. The noise comes again, and this time it is certain that is is from Dreamkicker. Jaws drop among the Nature paladins as Dreamkicker giggle. He does it again, and again. Soon, he is shaking with mirth and the giggling turns into full-blown laughter. Smiling as wide as a mile and laughing loudly, his horn shines the same shade of pink that Pomelo, Bessy, and the Laughter Paladin are shining. The wheel spins just a little more, then stops on the peg.
The clicker snaps, then the wheel splits down the middle. It bursts apart in a shower of technicolor sparks and the fragments fly off into the shadows.

537510

>>537509
I'll just stare dumbfounded at Dreamkicker.

537511

Pomelo and Bessy.
The two of you, and the Paladin, feel a connection form. The connection to Dreamkicker is faint, seeing as how he is initiated, but present. The three of you feel that, if you focus your divine powers together, you can all accomplish something stupendous.

537512

The only Discordians left are the ones that were killed in battle. The pegasi formed a teleporation matrix around the shadow alicorn and teleported away with it. The remaining Discordians sacrificed themselves to summon a Wheel of Misfortune, which was just destroyed.

>>537521
One of them growls back at you, apparently knowing how to speak wargish.

"Yeah!"

"Whatever it was, it was evil. And evil has a way of twisting ponies. Or strengthening the evil that's already there. This place already had a problem with vampires, ghouls, and all sorts of things. No sense in giving them an even bigger advantage."
Start heading towards the door.
"Let's get going."

537532

Just a few zombies in the distance as you are led by werBrutus. There is werBrutus, technically, but eh.

>>537542
You hop up onto a buffalo's back. As you notice that you hopped on to Brutus he changes under you into a hulking, armored werwarg. Too scared to do anything you spend the rest of the trip shivering on his back.

537575

Deliver a smack.

"You have not yet mastered your femininity! Do not attempt!"

537576

>>537560
The paladins shrug.
"Who knows? It's Discordians. If they thought we'd expect them to trap the gate then they probably didn't."

>>537561
You look through the gate and see no traps at all in them or the courtyard beyond. However, your vision cannot penetrate the temple.

>>537563
You pull open the gate. The path beyond is broken with dread vines and the courtyard is a grey mess of withered plants and broken statues.

>>537566
>>537567
>>537570
As they walk in a few of the Nature paladins start whistling a popular love ballad.

Everyone is now inside the grounds of the Discordian temple. From where you are it looks like a standard two story mansion. There is a large entrance, the doors are gone, between two parts of the building designed to look like watchtowers. The building extends in each direction rather normally after that. There are windows on the first and second floor.

>>537578
You are pretty sure they either teleported directly into the mansion, or came in from the side or back.

The inside looks clear. The way inside is flanked by two dry fountains. The floor is made from polished wood and the hallway continues around a corner.

>>537580

Neither of you can see through the windows. In fact, they aren't even windows. They are just paintings meant to look like window.

537596

PAUSED FOR REALISIES

538074

All of you stand at the entrance to an old, overgrown mansion: the abandoned temple of Discord. Bessy has spread fruitcake over the hardwood floor in the entryway to keep people from slipping.

Up above, the thunderclouds rumble and begin to rain.

538076

>>537595
So we're inside. Are we on the ceiling? Or have we come in through the bathroom?

538078

>>538074
At least she didn't waste any carrot cake.

What's around the entryway?

538080

>>538076
You are in the entryway. The hall leading in looks perfectly normal and turns to the left up ahead.

>>538078
Just inside, on either side of the hall, are two dry fountains.

538086

>>538083
They are dry. So far, the only thing you have seen that suggests this building isn't normal is that all the first floor windows are painted on. You couldn't see the second floor windows well enough.

>>538081
The paladins shrug.
"Maybe?"

Your normal nose isn't anywhere near as keen as your wernose.

You follow the buffalo.

>>538090
They aren't really towers. They are just parts of the building made to resemble guard towers. You cannot see any arrowslits or anything like that in them.

>>538093
You go down the hallway with the others.

At the end of the hallway is a metal placard on the wall. The hallway splits in a T-intersection.

538096

I look up at Pomelo on your back and give him a look.

"And let's be sure nogoat eats it, eh?"

538122

>>538116
You cannot see the split anymore thanks to the curve of the hallway.

"What's wrong?"

>>538119
You can see the hallway is just the same up here.

538123

>>538122
Hmm. How many steps did we take? I'll start walking the other way.

538124

>>538121
"We need something better than cake for that!"
I aim my cannon at the ceiling and fire off a burst of streamers, balloons, and confetti! Then there will be no mistaking that we came this way!
And also a tiiiiny bit of cake. Just so they can't dupe it.

538126

>>538123
"No! Stick together. The last thing we want is to get lost in here."

538127

>>538124
I wince at the blast.

538128

>>538126
"If my guess is right, either going back this way will spit me out on the other end of the hallway and I'll run into you again, or I'll end up back at the split."

538129

Stick out my tongue at him

538131

>>538128
"So? Then you keep going forward til you do it twice like the sign I read says!"

538133

>>538128
"Just stay with us. Nothing good happens when you go off on your own."

>>538131
"Yes… that could be what it meant."

538134

>>538131
"Going the entire length of the hallway isn't a step."

538135

>>538133
I'll roll my eyes, but stop.

538136

A bit of difference in the walls is refreshing to your eyes.

Aaaah. Much better.

538141

Yeah keep going.

538142

>>538139
You get out your special wood-colored party poppers and scatter them on the floor behind you. They blend in perfectly with the floor and cannot easily be found.
You can't quite rig a balloon popping trap though.

>>538140
>>538141
The two of you continue forwards along with half the paladins. After a while you each come back to the T-intersection. It looks like you all came out of the left hallway.

538143

>>538142
…Go left again. Do I came across the others?

538144

>>538142
Eh, good enough!

Here's a quick doodle. The left and right hallways curve slightly.

>>538144
You walk forwards out of the left hall and go back to the intersection. Dreamkicker is there.

538147

>>538145
"Hi again! This place is weird."
Keep going left, then right when I come out

538148

>>538146

He looks like he has the right idea!
Do we see the stuff on the left path when we go through it again?

538149

>>538147
>>538148
You both go down the left hall and come out the left hall. Do you continue down the right hallway, or the hallway to your right which is the one you all originally came down?

538150

>>538149
Mmm… the one we originally came from. Just to check that the way we came is still normal

538151

>>538150
You walk back down the hallway to the entrance go around the corner.
You are now in a square, stone room with a door opposite you. On the door is a very large lock. The only thing in here is a wooden plank on the wall that says KEY on it. There are several nails driven into it and from each hangs of a key of different size and shape. Behind you is a door with the word EXIT written on it.

538152

>>538151
Hm.
I go left once more and then go back out the way we came.

538153

538162

The plank itself is hanging off a nail by a loop of wire. Raring up on you back legs lets you reach it and pull it off the wall.
The keys jangle as you move it.

>>538161
You open the door and are suddenly back outside in the rain.

Dreamkicker has left the room.

538163

>>538171
Give him the plank with the keys on it

538174

>>538173
"Well, I'm just going to see if the Key works. I'm not going anywhere without everyone."
And I'll go walk the plank over to the door, and put it in the keyhole. With all the keys still dangling from it.

538175

>>538169
You head down the left hallway until you come out of the left hallway then go back to the entrance hall only to get back in the room with the others.

Dreamkicker walks in through the EXIT door.

538176

>>538175
"…welcome back."

538177

>>538174
The lock clicks and falls off as you touch it with the plank of wood.
The door swings open and leads to a hallway that curves one hundred and eighty degrees.

538182

>>538181
Nope, just a very short hall that looks like it should curve back around into the wall of this room.

538183

>>538180
"Big guy already did that!"

>>538182
Let's go down it I guess?

538184

Ahead is a long, eye-twisting corridor. It seems to rotate back and forth as it goes, leaving points where the roof seems like it has replaced the floor. The hallway also seems to grow larger or smaller in places, but from this distance it is hard to tell. Lights hang in randomly placed recesses in the walls, floor, and ceiling.
It looks wide enough for four ponies or two buffalo to walk side-by-side in.

All of you walk into the strange hallway. The journey is a strange mix of ups, downs, left, rights, and loops as the scenery changes. All of you walk along the walls as the hallway changes to resemble an old magma chute. After that the party passes through a waterfall and the head of the line walks along the floor, over the heads of the back of the line who are still walking on a crystal ceiling. The hallway does expand and contract but all of you do so as well, although not always in the same order.

Eventually, a corkscrewing path leads you all to one last pair of doors. They are abnormally tall, made of a yellowish wood, and gilded with some common grey metal.

It takes a moment for any of you to process what you are all seeing. The room each of you has all stepped into is far too large to be inside the mansion, but here it is. The floor, made mostly of mosaics, spreads forwards and to the left and right. Along the walls rise massive columns of stone, ice, woods, various minerals, and unfamiliar materials. There is no ceiling to this room, however. Instead, above all of you is a sky quickly and randomly experience all stages of day and night and every conceivable mixture of weather.
Not too far away, just barely still in earshot, the Discordian pegasi stand at the base of a large chimera statue which is several times taller than they are. They form a ring around the prone form of the shadowy alicorn they took from the Temple of Luna and shout strange words in rapidly changing voices.

All of you charge forwards, through a sandstorm then a blizzard, and begin to catch up with the paladins. The landscape shift and fades, some sections of floor even vanishing if they are not looked directly at, as you all run. Finally, you all catch up to the paladins.

The distances stop changing as you all finally grow close to the circle of pegasi. The world tilts onto its side, suddenly, and when it returns to normal (or as normal as it can get here) the circle of pegasi is gone and only the chimera statue remains. It looks down at you all and rises to a standing position. Three voices, the loudest from what you thought were the pegasi, speak.
"So predictable."
"And boring."
"Shut up and kill them so we can finish waking lord Discord."
"But that's exactly what he would expect us to do!"

Instead of atomizing or bursting into electrical flame as you expected, however, the tiger head instead twitches and rolls as it is zapped.

>>542019
You carefully set each of her broken legs then channel your magic through them until she is as god as new.

>>542020
Your first skeleton is able to attack the tiger's head, but is taken out as bone shrapnel hits it. The shrapnel originated from your other skeleton as the snake slams it hard with its face.
You try to heal the Nature paladin, but get a dusting of the shrapnel yourself.

>>542021
You take aim at the snake and hit it with your powerful cannon. The snake head hisses a scream then passes out.

>>542022
The pinkie paladin stands up, but the first Nature paladin cannot find the strength to do so. The second and third Nature paladin rough up the goat head, but it ignores them as it starts to eat the cans. The fourth Nature paladin is able to stand up and hit the Tiger's head, but the last one cannot stand.

>>542023
A leg kicks you as you try to mix another remedy.

>>542024
You try to get up, so the snake bites you again. You can feel a fang brush against your hear as the world suddenly goes black. You can just faintly make out the sounds of combat.
You are at 1 Wound and cannot stand yourself.

The pegasi tip the dice cup again and let the die fall out.
[1d10]

The goat, after waiting for the charge to pass through the cans, starts to eat them. As it does all the damaged heads start to visibly heal and grow stronger. The tiger and snake head both reawaken as the goat eats the last of the cans.

The skull pips on the die glow green as you line up your throw. Before you can get it off the snake bites you, hard and fills you with poison. Only your inner stronk keeps you upright.

>>543062
Before you can get to a good firing position the snake headbutts you. Luckily, Brutus is there to support you until Pomelo heals you.

>>543071
A paw swats you while you are yelling.
"Keep ssssssshowing usssssssssss!"

>>543081
The pladins keep Brutus busy as the snake strikes each of them in turn, biting two of the Nature paladins but beeing chased off by the buffalo knight.

"Bah! Enough fighting, I'm starving!"
A goat hoof begins to stamp the ground and large cans appear around it!

Brutus slows down, too tired to safekeep everyone.

>>543091
You line up the goat's head in your crosshairs, but the snake gets you first. It lifts you off the ground as it bites you again and again, then throws you down with enough force to crack the floor. You feel many of your bones break as the world fades to black.

>>543093
Your shot hits the ground below the monster, but it is a dud. The snake rams you with its head again and nearly knocks you over.

>>543094

The goat starts to eat and quickly finishes its snack. The monster heals as the goat eats, and the tiger head wakes up.

The Discordians roll the die back into the cup and start trying to lift it.

Your armor starts to ripple as you stand, and by the time you are all the way up you have shifted into some mix between a bear and a wolf that stands as tall as a buffalo. You feel even stronger as Pomelo's healing magic flows through you.

>>551925
You yell at the dead goat's head, totally not coming unhinged from everything you have seen happen, and strike the helpless snake. As Pomelo's runoff energy hits you you feel stronger.

>>551926
You heal the other buffalo as he turns into a big bearwolf thing (Bessy can't do that, right?) and direct the rest of your healing magic to Bessy.

>>551929
The Pinkie Paladin is struck by a paw and sent flying straight into the sixth Nature paladin. The Nature paladin screams as his neck bends at an odd angle and he flops to the ground like a fish. Another Nature paladin is struck, but remains stranding as the last two rush in and strike the snake with their weapons.

>>551928
Your hearts feeling full, you channel a blast of magic at the helpless Snake head. The bolt of magic hit the snake in the eye and vaporizes a large chunk of its head in a magical blast.

The Discordian pegasi push the giant skull die back into its cup and start lifting it.

>>551933
You loudly chant a prayer and focus on the paladins. As you watch they all glow pink, and all one of the helpless ones stands up. The one with a broken neck survives, but will need mending before he can fight again. The world spins (more than normal) and you wind up on your back.

>>551935
You fire a concussion bolt at the Tiger's head, which explodes with a bright flash and loud noise. Unfortunately, all it makes the tiger do is blink and cover his ear while yowling. Your minion is crushed into paste by a goat hoof.

>>551938
You stand back and fire your cannon, but the ground twists and your shot sails over the Chimera's head.

>>551940
The paladins try a team attack and it works: Only one of them gets hurt by the Chimera's counter attack.

>>551941
You line up your shot and fire, making minor correction to your bolt's flight with your TK. The bolt strikes the tiger in it's eye, but bounces off. Bruised, the tiger roars.
"I CANNOT BE HURT!"
It seems to be invulnerable to critical hits!

The second on strikes the fallen beast on the snout. The die glows green and time seems to bend in on itself. 552093

>>552088
Time to run!!

552094

>>552088
>>552092
The two of you make it back into the long tunnel with the paladins. It untwists and unfolds as the bunch of you run through it, over rock and ice and fire and paving stone towards the doors leading to the rest of the temple.

>>552093

Keep running!
"We gotta get outta heeeere!"

552099

>>552097
I hope you realize I'm covered in chimera viscera. I really need a bath. Like, super-bad.

552100

>>552094
"Did we get the Paladin bodies?"

Keep running

552101

>>552099
Like she cares

>>552100
"The other paladins did!"

552102

>>552095
>>552097
As Happyhorn messes with Brutus's fluff, Brutus and the paladins race down the unwinding tunnel and burst back into the room where they solved the picture punnel. Everything here feels decidedly real, and several of the paladins kiss the ground.
Pomelo, Bessy, Dreamkicker, and Andelia are all running still, and behind them is nothing.

>>552096
>>552098
>>552100
>>552101
The paladins got their bodies.
All of you run into the long hallway as everything returns to nothing behind you. The ice is turning the steam, the fire crackling away into electricity, and the ground becoming mud as you all power through it.

552103

>>552102
I'll halt at the edge of madness, ready to grab anyone who happens to trip at that last moment.

552104

>>552103
And by the edge I mean on solid ground.

552105

The five of you leap forwards as the ground gives way under you. Flying and spinning through nothingness, all of you tumble out onto solid ground inside the Discordian temple.

>>552110
Your magic yanks you backwards, but Brutus and Happyhorn's minion forma living chain to reach out into the nothing and drag you back to reality.

552112

>>552111
I'll do a quick headcount. That everyone?

552113

As the nothing makes contact with the doorway the stone around it flashes then grows inwards until the breach in reality has been sealed off.

Brutus
You can no longer smell the evil scent the corpse of the black alicorn was giving off.

552114

>>552112
That's everyone.

552115

>>552113
"…neat party trick. You think you could do that next time, Pommers, Boofy?"

552116

>>552113
Snort. Well, it's gone now, wherever it is.
>>552114
Good.
"Alright, let's get the hell out of here. I need a bath, and the dead need to be raised or lain to rest, whichever is proper."

552117

>>552116
I start drawing little pictures of the battle in the viscera coating him.

They are highly abstract.

552118

>>552111

Hop off and give tight hugs to everyone.
"Is that is? Are we done here!?"

I'll start leading the way back to that underground tunnel out of the forsaken district.
"Let's go. I don't want to stick around here much longer."

552127

>>552126
You lead everyone out of the Discord temple and back to the tunnel entrance. The few undead you can see are standing around, unmoving. As you all pass a ghost it implodes violently.

552128

>>552127
Better than exploding. But that will be startling.

552129

>>552120
"No! That's never happening ever again!"

>>552122
Hop on and rub my face in her fur

Stick my tongue out at where the ghost was

552130

>>552128
>>552129
All of you head back down the tunnel and through the basement of the Temple of the Two Sisters. You all pass the beam of false moonlight, and you can see it slowly unraveling and falling apart. In one room you see vampires hastily packing various items into coffins and saddlebags, but there are several batbeasts with them so you all decide that discretion is the better part of valor and move on.

I shake my head firmly.

You faint, but your minion catches you.

I guess I'm picking up the old goat as well.

"I don't plan on doing that again…"

Shake his hoof and give him a hug
"Thank you sososososo much for your help!"

>>552151
Elbow him

"Good. I expect a real celebration."

The attendants insist you use a private bath, and even kick the guy who was in there out. You now have a large tun all to yourself.

>Everyone else

You stand near the wrecked guard booth outside the fence surrounding the Temple of the Two Sisters. Night is falling fast, and you could all use a place to relax and rest.

557445

>>557439
Well, I've finished making a mess of the place, so I guess I'll hoof it. The Nature temple should be a good place to get some sleep… if I don't get seized by the trees the second I walk in there.

557447

>>557439
"We should get back to the Adventurer's District before nightfall."

>>552166
"We need to report to the temples and then go see the twins. I'm sure they'll be interested in our… findings."

"The sooner we get there the sooner we can get back home."

You start making your way through the darkening streets. Your nose more than your eyes alerts you to figures moving through the alleyways, but non of them stop to harass you.
On your way to the Nature Temple you pass the rest of the party outside the Temple of the Two Sisters.

>>557450
You are with the party in a plaza in the Temple District. More specifically, you are outside the Temple of the Two Sisters and between the Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Sun. Maybe you should return your stuff before leaving?

"Home, and then parties."

>>557466
"I'm sure the twins have baths… though we might not want to use them."

557473

>>557470
"Aww… but then we're not gonna be able to have a party with any of our friends here!"

557474

>>557463
If you knock on the doors they might let you in.
The rest of the party also has artifacts they borrowed from the temples.

>>557482
"I don't know if I want to bathe in front of them…"

"I dunno if DK will want more goats back home… And if we wanna invite Andy she'll probably wanna bring the twins and the rest of the nature temple! And then the party will get all kinds of huge and we'll have to fill out one of those awful event forms!"
I stick my tongue out.

557490

>>557479
"Goat-o-gram! Got a package for you! A shiny one!"

557491

The door cracks open and someone gasps.
"Holy sun! Come i-uh, shoot, I mean show my your teeth!"

>>557488
You are loaded up with materials for a ritual that was never required.

557492

Groan "just use the bath in the hallway then"

557493

>>557491
Ah. Well, there's that I guess.

557494

Show teeth.

I smile and show my non-fangs.

"There. See?"

I frown.

>>557513
I'll watch as well.

Happyhorn, Pomelo, and Bessy do a startlingly good job reenacting the battle and events surrounding it with shadow puppetry, mock sword fighting, and interpretive dance. Dreamkicker and Brutus use words to fill in the few details that remain.
To say that the high priest looks concerned would be an understatement.
"I…really? This is serious. Very, very serious. If you have proof please give it to me. The Discordians need to be run out of the city immediately."

>>557518
He shakes his head.
"You would need to see the Grogarians about that."

557525

>>557524
"Proof? What more do you need, pony? Ask the paladins!"

Do we have any of the costumes and stuff we found in the temple?

557527

"Proof… uh.. well I am guessing our proof disappeared when the chimera warped reality.."

557528

>>557524
Spit on the ground.

"I'll do it here under sun's guidance. Anyone know where the fallen paladins are?"

557529

>>557525
"Right, right. Can you give us their names and denominations?"
You have them.

>>557527
"That would be unfortunate."

>>557528
The Nature paladins brought them back to the Nature temples.

557530

>>557528
"The other paladins carried their own with them."

>>557524
Those paladins still with us?

557532

"Do you think we just made up that entire shebang? It really happened!"

557533

>>557530
>>557529
"Alright. We'll vist them latere."

557535

>>557529
I hand over their names and give him the ancient Discordian assassin costumes.

557536

>>557532
Yeah! Some of us even died!
>>557533
"What are you up to?"

557539

>>557536
"Yeah, like me! I got better though."

557540

>>557530
The Nature paladins went back to the Nature temple and the Pinkie paladin went back to the Pinkie temple.

>>557532
"I believe you, but I need proof if I want anything to be done about them."

>>557535
I takes them carefully and looks at them.
"But these are ancient. They're from the time period when the Shadow…"
His eyes get wide.
"Those bastards. How involved in this were they?"

557543

>>557540
"From the very beginning, it seems. Their first betrayal came just as the Shadow was sealed into its vessel, when they murdered the other clerics."

557545

>>557540
I'll shrug.
"There was also a rather large pile of holy symbols that lacked any Discordian contribution. Everyone who helped seal the Darkness was stabbed in the back."
I'll pull out the little tree symbol.
"This is one of the symbols from the pile."

557546

>>557536
>>557539
"I'm going to recall the others who died. No reason you all should be the only ones wit hthis privilege."

557549

>>557543
>>557545
He exhales slowly and carefully sets the outfits down on his desk, then takes the symbol from Brutus.
"Thank you for these. We will send word and proof out to our ally temples and temples opposed to the Discordians, as well as to the city council and the Inquisition. We will handle it from here, you have all done more than enough. Stick around long enough and no doubt you will all be made heroes."

557550

>>557546
"Of course! It's the least we can do to pay them back for their help. Or.. least you can do rather. I don't think I can."

I shrug.
"True…"

>>557552
"You'd like that, wouldn't you…"

557555

>>557551
"Your friends have given us proof, mam. Thank you again for everything you have done."

>>557552
>>557553
"Certainly. Statues, feasts, titles, women, the whole nine yards."

557557

>>557553
"Well I typically don't delve around in dank crypts for my health, you know. Some sort of compensation is in order."

557562

>>557549
I'll shrug.
"I've no plans on going back through that undercrypt. Though as we were making our way back, it looked like the vampires and other undead were packing up and moving out as well."
>>557555
My stomach will grumble at the mention of feasts.

557563

>>557555
I gag a bit when he mentions the mares.

"I see. Nothing of substance, as usual. Though I'm sure Pomelo would enjoy a good feast."

557565

>>557555
"Even… [size5]parties?[/size5]"

557568

>>557562
"Even better! Haha, this is a wonderful day!"

>>557563
"Goats normally do enjoy eating, yes."

>>557565
"Tons of parties."

He speaks to all of you.
"You must all be exhausted. We can handle the return of whatever items you were loaned while all of you find a place to rest."

557570

>>557555
"Oh gosh. They give away women? Like to carry bags and brush my hair and stuff?"

557571

>>557568
I'll set everything I was carrying on the floor.
"Works fine for me."

557572

>>557555
Nod tiredly. "I just want the city to be safe."

557574

>>557557
I roll my eyes.
"Clearly you're not delving in the right crypts!"

>>557555
"Nine yards?!"

>>557568
"Okay!"

557576

>>557568
"Can some pony escort me to the nature temple on that case? Or are we all staying here?"

557577

>>557570
"Uh, well, the women aren't an official reward but I am sure there will be plenty willing to do anything you want. Normally the stance of the church is against it, but this is not a normal event."

>>557571
Several ponies enter and start to gather it.

>>557572
"You are too humble, madam of Nature."

>>557574
"It's an expression."

>>557576
"I can arrange an escort."

557579

>>557574
Laugh softly "crypt diving is a fine hobby.but I think I might retire from it."

557580

>>557568
"We have business at the nature temple."

>>557570
"Heheheh. Probably not."

"Don't forget to give the priest that musical ball before we leave."

557581

>>557570
"Pommy please."

557584

>>557577
"Most appreciated sun priest." I nod contentedly.

557585

>>557580
>>557584
"I will provide an escort for you all."

#Say when you are ready to go to the Nature temple.

557587

>>557577
Well, I'm just waiting on the others, then.
>>557585
I'm ready.

557588

>>557585
Ready!

557590

>>557585
When the others are ready.

557592

>>557579
"Same. I quit and I'm never workin' another day in my life."

>>557580
"Oh… right. That's a thing I have."
I put the ball and anything else borrowed I might have down in. Then quickly turn on the ball '1d10'

>>557585
Ready

Roll #1 3 = 3

557594

>>557585
Ready!

557595

557596

>>557592
"Scurrying around the Academy until the Provost gets tired of you nibbling on the tapestries doesn't count as work, either, Pommy."

557598

>>557587
>>557588
>>557590
>>557590
>>557592
>>557594
>>557595
You are all sent back down to the main room. After a few minutes a dozen warriors in glowing armor wielding bright yellow weapons file into the room. Cheerful, they all congratulate you on your victory and escort you all the way to the border of the forest surrounding the Nature temple. The more observant of you can see a few figures in the alleyways making themselves scare as the column of armored ponies makes their way past.

557600

>>557598
Head inside and find the entrance to the Twins' lair.

557601

>>557592
"But all we do is plan parties, Pommy. It's not work if you love what you do!"

>>557598
>>557600
Down we go!

557603

>>557598
Oooooooh….

557604

>>557598
"This is a bit excessive. But I guess once you've seen us to the gate, that would be enough."

557606

>>557598
"How nice to have a quiet trip for once."" I smile and give the paladins a nod. "Take care of yourselves."
>>557592
"I want to retire and do nothing but garden. Forever." I laugh a bit more.

557610

>>557600
>>557601
>>557603
>>557604
>>557606
The armored ponies part ways with you as you all enter the forest, but one sheds his armor and weapon and continues with an old Discordian assassin outfit and the old Nature symbol. All of you are greeted at the entrance to the temple by the entire membership of the Nature clergy including, surprisingly, both the Seed Council and the Twins.
The Twins hang back and the seed council moves forwards to greet you. Before any of you can speak the Sun paladin bows respectfully and approaches them. He whispers to them for a minute then hands off the symbol and the outfit.

557614

>>557610
"As you can see, we won."

557617

>>557601
Of course! That stuff don't count. And we do more than parties you know!"

>>557606
"Ohh that sounds nice. I bet you'll have a whole field lookin' great before next spring!"

>>557610
Wave at them

557618

>>557610
I'll just keep quiet.

557621

>>557610
Look confused at the scene but bow to the high seed.

557624

>>557617
"Yeah… but parties are the only thing we get paid for!"

>>557606
"You'd be a great gardener Andy!"

557625

>>557614
>>557617
>>557618
>>557621
The Sun Paladin says his farewells to you all and makes his way back up the path leading out of the forest.

The Seed Council approaches you all, then all of them bow respectfully.
"You have done us, and this city, a great service that we can never repay. If we may ask one more favor, though, we were told that one of your goats was a necromancer skilled at returning life to the dead?"

557627

>>557625
I point out Olga

557630

>>557625
I'll nod to Olga.

557632

>>557625
I point at Olga as well.

557633

>>557624
>>557617
"Yes.. I miss my garden at my old home. With mirabelle."
>>557625
Look astonished as they bow to us. "You honor us high seed. We merely wanted to do the right thing."

557636

>>557627
>>557630
>>557632
Olga seems to have fallen asleep on her hooves. She is snoring softly. A few of the oldest members glare at her.
"We will speak to her when she wakes."

>>557633
"You deserve honor, Andelia."

The High Seed stands back up.
"Now, I assume you youngsters wish to spend the night hollering and hooting and partying. Well..I guess you have all earned it."
The Seed Council walks back into the temple and the Twins suddenly appear where they were. They hug Andelia first, but hug everyone else after that.
"We heard what the paladin said."
"Frightening."
"But we cannot smell the evil anymore."
"The draw is gone."
"You said the vampires were leaving?"

557638

>>557625
Smile
"Hey, it was nothin' but a couple of bruises and a few scrapes. And also a few sleepless nights of terror and some warped reality. But yeah, nothin'"

>>557636
Hug back with no fear

557639

>>557636
"We saw many of them leaving the ancient temple as we escaped, yes. What drew them here is now gone, and they seem to be leaving."

557640

>>557639
I wince a bit at the hug.

557642

>>557636
"Only time will tell if they really leave. But we believe they will now." I say relaxing a bit now that the twins have hugged me.
"Are the baths free? "

557643

>>557636
I'll nod at the twins.
"The ones who'd bunked down there, at any rate. And if you'll excuse me, I've got a few old farts to talk to."
I'll start following after the Seed Council.

557645

>>557638
>>557639
>>557642
>>557643
"This is wonderful."
"Stupendous."
"Fantastic.
"Pretty good."
"How can we repay you."
"You all need a reward."

>>557640
The Twins ignore this chance to mess with you.

>>557642
"Yes."

>>557643
No one tries to stop you as you follow them into the temple. They stop and turn around when they hear you following them.
"Yes?"

557646

>>557636
"Yeeeeep. And a buncha others."

>>557643
I watch him.

557647

>>557645
"Riches, a bath…. help in getting back to Equestria…"

557648

>>557645
"I'd like to talk with you all about a few things, if you've the time."

557649

>>557646
"Perfect."
"The city is safe now."
"For us."
"And everyone else."

>>557647
"We don't have much cash."
"But can scrub you in the tub."
"And hire you a boat."
"A boat that floats."

557651

>>557648
"Time is something we have, yes."

557653

>>557649
"A boat sounds excellent.

"Your aid in the bath, however, is unnecessary."

557655

>>557625
Shake myself out of my standing nap

Yes, yues?

557659

>>557649
"Yeah. A place like this needs to be safe for everyone, huh?"

557660

>>557645
"I bet that pommy and Bessy want one last party. Just us friends."
"I will take a bath.. and then we can talk about the future."
Head down to get clean.

557662

>>557651
I'll grumble a bit.
"This is a bit awkward, but you know the small emblem that was returned to you? The tree? I… don't suppose there's some way I could… keep it?"

557664

>>557660
I yawn
"That sounds nice. Almost as nice as week long nap."

557666

>>557653
"We are only trying to help."
"We wouldn't like it much more than you would."
"Speak for yourself."

>>557655
One of the Nature paladins approaches you.
"Can you raise our friends now, revered one?"

>>557659
They nod.
"Safety is important."
"As is not being afraid of vampires."

>>557660
"Of course."
"Yes."

>>557662
They look at each other.
"We need to hold onto it until we can get the ball rolling against the Discordians, but after that I see no reason why you can't have it."

>>557664
"We can help you with that."
"We have lots of fun drinks."

557667

>>557666
"Yes, I have been preparing for that. Take me to them."

557672

>>557666
I shudder a bit.

"It seems we're staying here for the night? If you would show us to our rooms and the baths…"

557674

>>557666
"Thank you. It… well, it helped me deny the darkness the nipped at my mind while we were in there."
I'll idly paw a hoof.
"I may be considering joining the Nature Temple, at some point in the near future."

557675

>>557666
>>557672
I nod.
"Yeah, I could use a bath… and a good night's rest!"

557678

>>557666
"I guess. It's no fun living like that after all. Kinda weird coming from you though."

557679

>>557664
Ruffle your fur before heading down there.
"Rest up little goat."
>>557666
Maybe find a nature paladin on the way down to help scrub my back.

557683

>>557667
They lead you to a quiet, peaceful garden behind the temple. The paladins are laied out there and clothed in shirts of leaves.

>>557672
"Of course."
"Someone will take you to bed."
"But not like that."
"Don't worry."
A zebra steps forwards and motions for you to follow him.

>>557660
Oops.
You head down to the Twin's place. A few ponies follow you and help you draw a nice hot bath in a large tub.

>>557674
"It would be for your best if you did, we think."
"He will be tenacious in trying to claim you."

>>557675
A donkey steps forwards and asks you to follow her to the baths.

>>557678
"We have a vested interest in people not fearing us."
"Stakes hurt really bad."

>>557679
They join you in the bath and help you scrub yourself.

557686

>>557683
I follow after her to the bath, and once there immediately set to scrubbing myself off and getting clean again!

557687

>>557683
It's time. Light some incense around them, then see which one the smoke blows to first. Resurrect.

Roll #1 5 = 5

557689

>>557683
I'll nod.
"Then it would be a great pleasure to deny him his prize. As it is, I should probably sleep, though I doubt the others will make that easy."

557690

>>557683
I follow and drag Pommy with me.

557691

>>557683
Do the bath thing. Rollan for bubble quality '1d10'
Then look for a place to sleep I guess

Roll #1 1 = 1

557693

>>557683
"Yeah, I think I can guess…"
Do I get a room as well?

557694

>>557690
>>557691
I'll just leave those two to their fun.
