After a long boat ride home, Pumpkin Swansong returns to find the North over run with a demonologist cult called The Childern of Tartarus. He has made contact with the Celestia Intelligence Agency, and is coordinating with their leader Crisp Evergrasp. As the Northlander's most current exploit he saved a dragon from being turned into a demonic host. He now seeks advice from his old friend, a zebra necromancer, and the queen of the dead.

Kilana smiles back and then shakes her hoof at you mocking a stern voice.
"A dragon is a big responsibility, you have to take good care of it, I don't want to see any scales on my floor."
She is eyeing the bundle you are carrying closely.

Snap my hooves in front of her.
"Something wrong?"

She does not stop staring at the bundle.
"What is it that you carry brother?"

"What do you think it is?"

"Something demonic."

"Indeed. I figured burning it wouldn't have been the safest thing to do."

Kilana nods and draws her scythe toward it.
"Codar, levitate that for me." You feel the gentle tug of telekinesis pulling the object from you.

Cut the object loose, keeping an eye on it.

Roll #1 7 = 7

You watch as the object slowly spins, its leaves are completely soaked in black, a steady motion like a heart beating is coming from it. Kilana looks at it with hate and channels a dark flame into her scythe, "I can see what you want to become. That will not happen."
She slices into the bundle of leaves, as the dark flame covers it the leaves wither and turn to dust, the slime with-in being sucked into the scythe, and a small squeal can be heard.

"The best way Usually is. " She puts her scythe back on her back and looks at you.

"What happened to… It?"

She blinks. "To make it simple, I killed it."

"Sounds simple enough."
Sigh and move on.
"You should check the dragon. See if there's anything of that left inside him."

She nods. "Yes, if that was inside him, then I should look. Lead me to him."

Back to the dragon we go!

The massive three headed beast, known as Codar spreads its wings and carries its master after you.
You track the dragon easily, its large tracks and the burnt area of ground outside of a cave let you know exactly where he is. Inside the cave you see the large red scaled dragon laying down, he lazily opens an eye at your approach.

Keep approaching.
"Here's that friend of mine."

He nods replying slowly in norse. "You may approach Underqueen."
Kilana strides closer putting a concerned hoof on the dragon and climbs up to get a better look. "How did they get to you?"
"I was sleeping.." he answers reluctantly.

Keep watching the exchange.

"You should find a safer place for you naps then." Kilana examines the wound and nods slowly
"You'll be okay, looks like pumpkin removed that thing before it could really infect you."
The dragon nods and then looks slowly to you.
"I suppose I owe you now pony."

"Well, if you'd like to help, burn a few of those fuckers up while you go back to sleep, uh?"

The dragon give you a toothy grin "That sounds like fun."

"What's your name, dragon?"

"I was once called Iron Tooth." The dragon replies.
Kilana smiles standing next to Codar. "You may call me Kilana."

"And I…"
Bow slightly.
"Am Pumpkin Swansong.
Be alert on your travels, Iron Tooth."

The dragon smiles at you.
"I will keep an eye out for you Pumpkin Swansong, most unusual pony. For now, I shall rest and let this wound heal, before traveling."

Nod slowly.
"Now, I think it's time for us to part ways."

The dragon stares at you for a long moment and lays its head down its claws.
"Provided you don't die, we will likely cross paths again."
Iron tooth closes his eyes.

Leave him be for now, and back with Kilana.
"I guess it's time for me to report back."

Kilana shakes her head. "Why work with equestrians?"

Smile at her.
"I've been doing that for the last five hundread years now."

She gives you a soft smile with a sigh "…and I still don't understand it.. if we ever succeed in bringing them back, the Equestrians will probably try to take over again.."

Keep up the smile, jerking my head slightly on the side.
"And they will find us ready."

She nudges your side as you walk together. "Well, do what you need to do then. Those sites you asked Morrigan to investigate check out, so at least they are being honest with you."

"News on the runaway mages? Did they test their spell out yet?"

"Not yet, they are waiting until sunset. One of the pegasi insisted on that, something about wanting them all to be sure they wanted to remember."

"I should probably go check on them…"

"Or you could just sneak over there just before sunset and watch the results for yourself."

Blink a few times.
"Well yes, as I said, check on them!"

Kilana looks confused and then sighs. "Sorry.. You should come by more often.."

"I'm not going anywhere just now…"
Smile and brush against her side.
Spend the rest of the day with her, until the sun starts to set.

You spend the rest of the day together, talking about old things, laughing, and even enjoying another meal together complete with red wine.
Kilana seems much happier by the time the day is over, relaxed even. When she notices the sun hanging low in the sky she give a pleasant sigh and a nod to you. "Good luck, bro"

Spread my wings.
"I will be back."
Smile at her and take off. Towards the mages' position.

Its not very far away actually. You spot all fifteen of them gathered together inside of a cave, four of them standing together inside of a runic circle, each holding a small vial liquid.
"Well. You are ready for this?" The pegasus that you spoke with before asks.
The four nod. "Lets give it a try right?"
"We just take the potion and say the words right?"
"No, you just take the potion and then they say the words for us."
"Oh, right."
"Lets just do this before someone forgets how to swallow"
A few of them chuckle at that.

Dive down and hide in the snow.

Roll #1 8 = 8

Much like a shadow in the darkness, you are perfectly well hidden.

The mages all nod to each other, the four inside the circle drink up and the others chant a spell, magic swirls around the circle, and a bluish spark of magic hits each of the four in the circle, the fall over, two scream, one cries, and the last one just looks amazed.
The spell finishes and the other mages look concerned but the pegasus stallion from before is the first to try and comfort them.
"Hey, calm down.." he says placing a wing over the crying one, the others soon follow suit and try to comfort the four.

Keep watching.

"It worked.." the amazed mage says.
"..yea" the sobbing mage says. "I remember now.."
The other two don't say anything just holding onto their fellow mages.
"Well.. do you remember too?"
The both of them slowly nod, but refuse to speak.

Appraise the ones that do remember.

Roll #1 3 = 3

You remember them from before: 3 unicorn and one earth pony, they are capable of casting dark magic and arcane magic, they are physically weak, and one of the unicorns is a mare.
3 unicorn casters: 5/3
1 earth pony caster: 5/4

Keep watching, try to tell any oddity in their actions.
'1d10' MT.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Roll #1 3 = 3

Aside from the crying and looking terrified nothing odd is happening, and after a while they calm down, and sit together comparing notes on what exactly they remember.
"So.. you and I met at the cultist meeting in Pone Brier.."
"Yea, It was about midnight and we had just killed a boar."

Keep listening.

"Huh, you guys killed a boar? We killed a lion." the earth pony brags.
"A lion, what did you do with that?"
"We used its heart for our first ritual, hey, I even got to keep most of the bones! of course the thing I made with them was destroyed later.. but it was fun for a while."
"Sounds like it, but when did you get up here?"
"That was when Grey was still in charge here, man do you remember him?"
"Grey, yea, he was an ass, even for a cultist."

Come out of the snow.
"And now, what will you choose?"

The four of them nearly fall over in shock.
"Who are you?"
"What are you doing here?"
"Wait isn't this.. the one who killed the others?" the earth pony squints at you.

"Yes. And the one that told you to build a new life for yourselves.
So. What will it be?"

"Ah, well.. my father would have wanted me to become a merchant, I guess its not too late for that." the unicorn mare says.
"I'm not going to do anything like that anymore. ..It was terrible the things we all did.. I wish I didn't remember.." one of the unicorns says.
"I don't really know what I'll do, all I've learned here, is it even useful for anything else?" the earth pony ponders.
"I promise I won't go back.. Just don't kill me.." the third unicorn says.

"Not if I can help it, kid.
Now, I'd like your help. There's somepony with your very same condition that needs to be fixed."

They nod slowly. "We have one extra of that potion.."

"How convenient."

"..yea, one of the others backed out at the last moment." the earth pony says.
"He was lucky, screw remembering everything." one unicorn says
the scared unicorn levitates a vial with the potion inside to you. "H-here.."

Take it and gaze it over.
Does it look poisonous?
"And what of the chanting?"

Roll #1 1 = 1

Oh c'mon.
Try to ruse.

Roll #1 5 = 5

You firmly believe that its not toxic at all.
"Right.. you're not a mage, you probably need one of us to go with you."
The scared unicorn cowers behind the other three and nudges the earth pony forward with magic.
"Were you always this brave, or did you remember how to be?" the earth pony says rolling his eyes.

Stare at him. As in, the scared unicorn.
Come with me."

"What.. why me?!" he cries. The other three move aside slowly.

"Because you look like the most experienced."
Smile broadly.

"…" he looks to his other mages for help and they shake their heads.
"He said you man, just go."
"I'm sure he won't kill you."
The unicorn hangs his head a bit and comes to stand next to you.

"I'm sure you will do great, pal!"
Pat him on the back and start walking towards the base.
Secretely slap an explosive rune on his back.

Roll #1 9 = 9

You guide him to the CIA moutain base, arriving about where the door should be, nothing but another rocky mountain side by appearances. it begins to snow.
Explosive rune secretly placed, he probably can't even reach that.

No, stay away from there, keep him a few hundread meters off.
Turn my sight to the woods. "Tell my friend to come."
I know this place is being watched anyway.

Very well then, standing out in the cold, you hear nothing but the wind to affirm your request, but with in five minutes a yellow mare with blue eyes and blue mane arrives in front of you.
"You called?" She smirks at you.

"I knew you wouldn't be late. Got a gift for you."
Pull out the potion.
Is the guy here calm enough?

The unicorn you dragged out here is shaking slightly, but seem OK.
"A drink? And just one? You must think I'm really a light weight huh?" Maddie smiles.

"I'd just hate to see you lost to yourself…"
Turn to the unicorn.
"Explain how it works."

"Right.. Miss, to get your memory back.. y-you need stand in runic circle, just a little one will due for you.. and then you drink that.. and I say the spell and.. your memories are zapped back to you.."
He looks nervously at you as if to ask if that was good enough.

Nod at him to go on.

"Um.. it might hurt.. but your memories are out there in the void between here and the other realms, and the spell calls them back to you, sort of like.. calling your dog back."
he draws the appropriate circle with a steady stream of magic.

Keep a close eye on him.
MT to see if he's hiding anything.

Roll #1 10 = 10

He finishes drawing it and nods. "Step inside Miss.."
Madison stands inside the circle. "..okay then."
"And just.. drink that when you're r-ready.."
She drinks the mixture and he begins to chant the spell, magic surrounds the area of the circle and blue sparks start to materialize Madison looks worried as they strike her as fast as lighting, she screams and falls over her eyes wide in fear of something.

He is carrying a copy of We are The Children of Tartarus, a rock shaped like a butterfly, a small length of rope and a bit of bread wrapped up.

Keep watching him silently with a very hard stare.

he cowers away from your stare. "Hey.. I warned her it might h-hurt.."

"Just pray to whatever god you hold dear she's alright once this is all over."

He gulps hard and nudges Madison who recoils from his touch and springs to her hooves, she glances around quickly and the focuses on you, she seems to relax a bit.
"So, not getting rid of me yet pretty boy?"

"No, not quite yet."
Smile and offer her a hug.

She hugs you tightly and whispers "Thank you"
The unicorn seems relieved but still stares at you.
next time
sweet sweet memories.
and death

Slowly, let go and look over at the unicorn.
"Can you find the way on your own?"

"Y-yea, I'll be fine." the unicorn slowly backs away.
Maddie eyes him suspiciously.

"Take care."
Wave him goodbye and wait in place.

He nods and teleports about fifty feet away before running away from you.
A white flower drops down next to madison. She looks down and it and looks around behind her before picking it up.

What… Where did it come from?

Roll #1 8 = 8

It is a white variety of sun-tulip, a popular equestrian flower, and it was dropped from the east side near the forest.
It has a note on it [ To M. Stay safe.].

"Jealous pretty boy?" She smirks.

Smirk back, but start walking towards the base.
I gotta report back just to see the look on Crisp's face.

You both make your way up to the mountain. To the spot where the door will open up.
Maddie glaces around before pressing in the stone and walking into the dull identical halls, lit by floating lights. You soon arrive at Crisp's office door.

Uncerimoniously walk in.

Crisp looks at you, perhaps a small smirk between that stone cold stare..
"Me too."

Nigga you better not.
'1d10' MT.

Roll #1 5 = 5

You can't tell if he's lying or not.
"You heard me, your little hunting party can take place now. "

"I'm glad. You work well, Crisp."

"They don't let just any foal work this job you know."
He spins the floating ball on his desk a bit with telekinesis.
"So, you decided not to kill the dragon."

"The dragon had nothing to do with this, no."

"Hmm, for a murderer you're leaving an awful lot of things alive. "
Crisp gives you a flat stare.

"Chronicles on my account might have been… Exhaggerated."

He gives you a small smile.
"Perhaps, some of the reports were ..colorful."

Smile and move forward.
"Now, where could I be useful?"

"Somewhere besides my office you mean?" He raises an eye brow
"I'd start with the pony going by Eson, his demon isn't very strong, but its crafty, he might even suspect something. He's in the file I gave you before, of course I hear you like to do your own homework, but if you really want to be helpful, just stay in touch."

"Not gonna get too far."
Okay, so, back to the 45.
"What now, Maddie?"
Jump on bed and start looking over the file.

She lays down next to you in bed. "Well, he seems to have lightened up a bit, what happened?"

"Eston": Male Pegasus pony
Red Eyes- demonic
Yellow fur
White mane
age 45

While he tires easily and must take frequent naps he lays down deadly traps without even warning his own men. Eson is difficult to get close to talking only to his five assistants, which frequently rotate and undergo various identity tests. He was once called Blustering Falls, and went to the Canterlot Mage Academy. He was teased, about his failures with expressions like "Blustering fails", he looked up to a Professor of Magical research a goat named "Darwin Tusk" who died of a heart attack.

Eston is currently located at an old stone palace in this location, the area is heavily fortified.
His capabilities include: flight, identifying false hoods, ice magic, expert trap laying, limited mind control, demonic armor on skin.

"Guess he just had a bad day…
Happens when one of your friends get injured."
Take out the compass paper now, and see where it points.

"Yea, Jasmine's doing okay thou, I saw her earlier today. If I didn't know better I'd think she likes you or something."
You take out the scroll with the gate on it, and wait a moment for it to activate, the familiar purple light on the arcane symbol glowing steadily at you, the symbol for death blinking rapidly a black arrow forming in the middle of the gate and pointing back at you.
Maddie looks surprised, "So, this is what you meant by a scroll."

"Pay it no mind…"
Dart my eyes around, telling her there could be someone listening in.
Pull out the pendant, and touch it with the scroll.

"Right, well, this place really isn't so bad. A lot nicer than Bramblewood."
You take the scarab pendant out and touch the paper. The blinking light on the symbol for death becomes solid and the arrow fades, after a while you see a single blink of red light on the symbol for fire, and a single blink on the symbol for holy magic, No arrow appears.

No arrow… Strange. Put the scroll away.
"So, you say she's got a crush, uh?"

"Kept asking about us, how we knew each other, and how close we were. Of course, I dodged her questions, but it wasn't like standard spy stuff you know."

"Spy stuff is made of a lot of different kinds of stuff!"
Look around.
"You had dinner yet?"

"I'm not hungry." She replies with a smile

Roll my eyes.
"As usual. Guess I will have to ask somepony else then!"
So. Leave this room and go look for the jenny…

Maddie follows you this time. "Hey, you don't know where you're going."
You move down the halls, annoying identical aside from markings on the ends and the doors, they seems a little more crowded than before, but the faces are mostly happy.

What, were they hiding?
Can I remember the way to the infermery?

Roll #1 2 = 2

Well, you do remember your way there, you head to the infirmary and try to walk past the counter, the receptionist stops you. "Can I help you sir?"

"I'm looking for a friend. Jasmine."

The pony flips a few pages and nods, "Yes, I'll see if she's up to have visitors, you can follow me."
She goes down the hall and knocks once on a door before entering and speaking softly with someone inside. The nurse pony then nods to you both.
"She actually wants to see you."

"Why wouldn't she, we are friends!"
Walk in, snickering stealthly.

"Friends, right of course." the nurse says as she walks away.
You see the jenny sitting up, she waves as you enter, she seems to be healing up quickly.
"Oh, so you and your friend are here together now?" She says.
Maddie smirks "Yea, of course."

"You know how stalkers can be."

Jasmine raises a brow at your comment. "I'm sure you could get away if you wanted."
Maddie laughs a bit.

Shake my head sadly.
"Anyway, feeling any better?"

"I'm feeling fine, really, but you know how doctors are." she mocks an official tone "just stay over night for monitoring.."

Then, you won't mind joining me for a midnight bite?
I'm feeling hungry. Saving dragons is hard work."

"Any excuse to get out of this room sounds like a good excuse to me." Jasmine smiles.

Stand up and offer a hoof.

You help Jasmine out of bed and she stands next to you.
Maddie watches from the side.
"Yea, lets see if we can't find something decent?" Jas says.

"Your home, I'm afraid. Where do you go for a good time?"

"Somewhere else." Jasmine smirks at you and takes you down some stairs past a few more ordinary looking ponies, you can smell some the scent of food on the air "But, you can always get a warm meal, with the weird hours we have here, somepony would always be hungry." The stairs open up to a room with tables, several ponies are sitting together eating and chatting. Jasmine walks over to the counter greeting the brownish unicorn mare with a smile. "Evening Ginger, what have you got for us tonight?'
"For you JJ, I've got a carrot cake with extra icing."
"Nah, we need some real food."
"Alright, I've got plenty of salad, or a nice carrot and dandelion soup if your friends are feeling cold."
Jasmine looks at you "Well, what are you in the mood for?"

"Something… Normal?
I haven't dined with spies much in the last…
I haven't dined with spies in a long time."
Give her a smile.

Jasmine tilts her head at you. "I never think of it that way you know, its just eating with co-workers to me."
"Salad should be fine then, and I'll take that cake on the side, I hope there is enough for three.."
"I knew you would say that JJ." the unicorn mare steps to the side and serves up a tray with three bowls of salad and three slices of carrot cake on it, a small bottle of salad dressing is on the tray.
"What do you want to drink?"
"Just water for me." Jasmine says.

"I'm fine with water too."
Turn to Jasmine.
"It's more of a…
Old, familiar feeling. The way ponies in here act, it reminds me of home."

Maddie nods. "Water is fine."
"Three waters then, you feeling well enough to carry this?" The unicorn asks as she sets the waters on the tray.
"Please I can manage a tray."
"Just let me. I won't see you dropping that nice salad on the ground."

Jasmine nods to you. "I think I understand what you're saying."

"So you can see why this is a breath of fresh air for me.
But enough of this. Tell me of you, the spy."

The unicorn mare levitate your meal to a table for you and the three of you sit down together comfortably.
"What's there to say? I do my job, I'm told I do I did well, but there is always somepony better." Jasmine says as she eats.

Try the food.
Give her a quick, secure glance.
"Then tell me of you, the jenny."

Roll #1 9 = 9

Its really nice, crunch salad leaves, the salad dressing makes it a bit sweet in a good way.
The carrot cake is probably the best you've had since that one bakery in Pona-cola town.
Jasmine smiles softly "Well, I'm pretty good at fishing, impressed a gryphon once or twice with the size of cat fish I was able to reel in."

"Must have been his cousin."

She snickers at that. "What about you? Got any hobbies? I know Maddison here plays cards."
Maddie scoffs.

"No, Maddie cheats at cards."
"I used to sing. Always wanted to be a bard…"

"Hey!" Maddie says.
Jasmine giggles "Well, if its true.." and then to you she looks curious "Oh, you can sing then?"

"I can try…"
"But I'm not too good at picking songs."

"Its better for you to do one you know, I'm sure you know at couple by now. Songs about moonlight are usually pretty."

"Songs about the moonlight, uh?
Well there just isn't any inpiration in here!"

in here, we should go outside!"

"My boss will not be happy if I decide to go off exploring in the snow a day after I nearly died."

"Seeing how the stallion that nearly killed you is here, I don't see how it could be a bad idea!"

She smirks. "Clearly nothing can go wrong at all with this plan."

Stand up and offer her a hoof.

Jasmine lets you help her up.
Maddie narrows her eyes at this situation. "Yea.. I think I'll go ahead.. just to be sure there aren't any demons or anything outside.." and with that Madison leaves you and the Jenny alone.
Jasmine sighs at that and smiles to you. "Shall we go then?"

Smile back, entirely unfeathered by the situation.
"We shall. Into the demonic unknown."
Lead her outside.

You lead Jasmine outside, both of you covered in puffy winter coats. The night is dark, overcast with clouds, the snow is freshly fallen, you now recall it was snowing earlier when you got here.
"Guess there isn't much inspiration here either." She comments looking up at the skies.

Give her a 'you ain't seen nothing yet' expression and sit down.
"Hop on."
Spread my wings.

She gives you a smirk "Don't think it will be that easy to impress me. Plenty of fliers around here." She says and she climbs onto you back.

"Impressing you?
Far from me, I swear!"
"Hold on tight now."

"Sure.. Up we go then." she says as she grips you.

Lift off!
Charge for the closest cloud.

Roll #1 6 + 1 = 7

Woosh, you fly up and easily make it to a cloud.

Pomf =3
Look up at the moon with a smile.
"First thing I ever looked up to."

Its a half moon tonight, waxing.
"Yea, a lot of us like the moon.. Its the only light you have some times. Guess that makes you appreciate it more. "

"I tried to fly to it, once."

She laughs. "Did you really?"

"A whole night. But I knew I'd be going nowhere. It was more…
A test for myself, I guess."

She shakes her head slowly "How old were you when you did that?"

"Uh… In my teens?
I mean, it was about the tim-
Oh, thirteen! No way I'd forget!"

"Ah, such a fun age isn't it? All the world is yours, or so you believe."

"It only gets better."
Give her a knowing smile and then turn to the moon again.
"Now, let's see if I can remember that…"
Some old… Prench song, about the moonlight. I Should know one.

Roll #1 8 = 8

You do, and prench is such a lovely language, Jasmine smiles. "You really would have made a nice bard."

"Care to join me?"

"I've got no talent for song, but maybe you can cover up my flat notes." she tries to sing along with you '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

Fill in where she fades, but encourage her to go.

Roll #1 9 = 9

You do a wonderful job of covering up her mistakes, while making her voice actually the star of the song.
You swear you can see the stars spinning around you, a low humming of birds complimenting your song perhaps.
By the time you both finish Jasmine is grinning and giving you a calm yet happy stare.

Humming birds this hour at night?

Match her stare, hinging closer, shining softly.
Gotta set the lights right for the mood!

Roll #1 5 = 5

You probably just imagined them, this song is supposed to have birds as back up when preformed properly, usually a druid or shaman would be hired for this.
You decide to let yourself shine a bit, and Jas looks surprised at your glowing body. "You always this bright, or was it something I said?" She smirks.

"Only when I'm happy."

"Seems like that would be an awful burden for someone like you."

"Not tonight, not up here."

Jasmine smiles softly at you "Well, you certainly know how to make a girl feel important."

"And let me tell you, I've always been a pony of actions, not words."
Pull her close and kiss her.

Roll #1 10 = 10

Her eyes go wide in surprise at the sudden kiss, and she returns it gently with a slight blush.
You shine even brighter, reflecting a bit of the moonlight from yourself, a soft bluish white glow, you can feel Jasmine's heart beat in excitement.

Push deeper, wrapping my wings around her.
Then roll over slightly, moving on top, and break the kiss, pulling back, staring into her eyes without a word, and with a confident smile on my face.

With only your wings between her and the cloud you stand over her and searches your face and body language for motive.
Finding no answers she continues to smile up at you, "Okay, that is a little impressive."

"It was interesting, yes."
Roll again, this time putting her on top, and relax on the cloud, smirking.
"Let's say it's my way to apologize."

She smirks at you giving you a kiss, her eyes bright and happy "..And what If I didn't want to hear an apology?"

"Then you will have to find a way to shut me up."
Poke her chest, lazily drawing shapes on it with a hoof.

With a slightly seductive look in her eyes she smirks "I think.. I have an idea or two." she guides your hoof under the coat and lets you touch her soft stomach.

Get closer and kiss her once, taking control of my hoof once again, slowly moving south.

She returns your kiss as slowly reach down and find her body willing, her eyes showing that she wants you.. will you give her what she desires?

Clouds are the best for this.
Let's hope nobody comes looking for us.

Roll #1 3, 10, 9, 10, 4 = 36

Roll #1 4, 9, 1, 6, 5 = 25

61/100 isn't too bad. The jenny sighs in your hooves tired by the end of it.
"Thanks for a nice night."

Can you really put a score to lo-
Yeah, you can.
Hey, she could have been better!
Let her rest on my chest and pet her mane, whispering in her ear.
"Thanks for a moment of peace…"

She smiles up happily at you. As if memorizing this moment for later. The wind blows and you both feel a chill, it is getting a little late now.

Don't you mean early?
"Hold onto my back…"
Mount the cloud, using my wings to flutter down to the ground with it.

You bring the cloud down the ground with a flutter. Jasmine steps onto the ground and looks up at you. "I suppose you've got to get going now?"

Smile softly.
"I'm just still a pony. A night's rest after taking out a few demons, saving a dragon and finally knowing you would be most welcome."

"Well, you do have a room here." she smiles at you. "And you know where I am."

"I'm sure a wire-tapped room or the infermery are great places to cuddle in quiet."

She chuckles back poking you in the side and speaking softly "At least Crispy would be in a good mood, but we could always pop over to the gryphon town, Eagle's Rock, the inn there isn't bad."

Brush close to her.
"He's into that kind of things now?"
Chuckle back, but start moving for the door, putting a wing over her back.

"He just likes to know where we are." She walks with you back to the base.

Step aside as we get closer.
"So, the official version is, we went demon hunting. But only found a very suspicious cloud, and decided to question her!"

She smirks. "And unfortunately the cloud didn't make it."

Hang my head low, shaking it.
"Such a tragedy."
Open the door and walk in.

You press the now familiar rock and enter the hallway, the gentle white orbs of magical light illuminating your path and then closing the door behind you both.
"So.. Your room?"

Raise a brow.
"No problems being seen around with me? Half the troops here either hate my guts or are afraid of me."

She shrugs "If they have a problem with it they'll let me know. Its not like whatever reactions you have been getting have stopped you from coming back."

Yes, but I might be gone tomorrow…
"My room is still gonna be better than the infermery."
Let's go there.

You go back to room 45, the soft plush beds have been bed, and smell vaguely of mint.

MT '1d10' to identify the smell, but I'm too tired to care.
Fall asleep with J in tow.

Roll #1 2 = 2

You really don't care it seems. You fall asleep next to the jenny called Jasmine jewels, you hear some hoof steps wander into the room sometime after you are both settled in and move into the other bed, but you don't really care about that either. Maybe you will care in the morning, maybe not.

I hope I had sweet dreams~

Roll #1 4 = 4

You have a nice enough dream.
Walking in the snowfall, looking up at a full moon, you see a few owls pass over you.
Suddenly you walk into grass, bright green grass, you look up and there is a field of flowers before you, the sunlight dripping into the area like honey, butterflies and birds peacefully flying around.
You think you can make out somepony in the middle of this, but its a bit difficult, they are as green as the very grass. You notice a large tree with the image of a wolf craved into it.
After this you wake up feeling curious but refreshed.

Open my eyes, is the Jenny still here?

Roll #1 2, 10, 3 = 15

Yes she is still in your arms. Looking across you can see Maddie with an eye open in your direction her hooves around two sleeping stallions.

Meet her gaze and mouth silently the word "coffee?"

She nods at you and carefully slips out into the mini kitchen without waking them.

Escape Artist to silently slip out of bed and meet her by the kitchen.
Start silently working on the coffee.

Roll #1 8 = 8

You know how to make some pretty good coffee by down, Maddie sets down five glasses for it. She is giving you a small smirk.

Smile back.
"I guess you had a fun night?"

"I had to track down flower boy didn't I?"

Nod slowly.
"Be careful with what you let slip off those lips of yours.
We are not amongst friends.
Bring two cups of coffee back to the other room, setting one near Jasmine, and sitting beside her with a smile.

Maddie nods in return "Yea, I know.". Carefully bringing the other three cups back with her.

Jasmine wakes up fairly easily with a smile to you she examines the coffee and then drinks it.

"Want to do something before I have to run?"

"Did you have something in mind?" Jasmine says thoughtfully.

Maddie's guests each give her a kiss on the cheek before leaving.

"Wasting away in bed really is not an option, is it?"
Smile softly at her while stepping away.
"Let's take a shower first. Other things later."

Maddie frowns at you and plays with her mane.

Jasmine steps out of bed and stretches a bit. "A shower might be nice."

Let's walk in there and have a warm shower.
I haven't had one like this in forever.
"Will I find you here when I come back, tonight?"

Roll #1 1 = 1

No, No, that's the cold water. Jasmine corrects it by pressing the hot water and creating a nice warm shower.
"Its not like I have anywhere else to go." She replies with a smirk.

"I'd think the life of a spy was all about being in constant, mortal danger…"
Get closer, enjoying both her and the water's warmth.
Keep brushing.

Roll #1 7 = 7

"When I get a new assignment maybe.."
You can feel a few scars under her fur, and not just from where you sliced her.

"I will have to ask Crispy not to make that too quick then…"
Touch one of them, slowly massage it.
"Feels like a story."

With a smirk at the nickname she replies "Make it back tonight, and maybe I'll tell you."

"Short term goals are the best kind of goals."
Finish cleaning her '1d10' and then turn my back, waiting for her to help.
"Believe it or not, it's been long since I've had anything like… This."

Roll #1 7 = 7

She helps you clean up in a very non-lewd way '1d10'
"I don't get too close to many stallions either.. Connections like that can be expensive.."

Roll #1 6 = 6

"Trust is a commodity.
I heard it a lot, and as I grew older I learnt it just wasn't as true as they said."

"Hmm" she nods to you and finishes scrubbing you off.

Get out of the shower and dry myself off, going over the papers of my target.
"Ever seen this guy before?"
Show them to Jasmine.

Jasmine looks at papers and the picture and slowly nods. "Only twice, he hardly ever made it to the meetings."
Maddie hops into the shower after you both are clear of it.

"The guy is twitchy, paranoid, and possessed." She replies.

"Just like all of them."
Smirk, pick the files up and get ready. Wear the armor and go for the exit.

She smiles back. "Should be to problem for you then."
Jasmine looks back at the clock and then leaves after you turning toward the infirmary. "I should let the doctors do their job I suppose."

"Guess they are wondering if you are still alive."

"I'll have to surprise them then." She smirks as she head down the hall.

"This I don'twanna miss."
Smirk and follow her.

She chuckles at you and turns into the door. She is greeted by a pegasus mare with a scowl on her face. "Jasmine Jewels. I believe you were told to stay here."
"I tried, but my legs were restless!"
The pegasus mare rolls her eyes. "Lets check you over, I want to see just how much your legs agree with you running around."
"Fine.." Jasmine follows them
Next time
Another way to die

Silently slip away, unnoticed.
Time to head to work.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Roll #1 3 = 3

The doctor glares at you as you try to leave without a word.
"Steal another of my patients and you'll be staying here overnight." She warns you before taking Jasmine further away, you can hear a door shut just a little too firmly and a muffled
"What were you thinking" as you turn to leave.

Eheh, doctors.
Let's get going though, back to the 45. Time to gather my last piece.

You bump into her in the hallway.
"Morning." She greets you a little coldly.

"Get ready, we are moving out."

She tilts her head at you and spins one of her blades in her hooves.
"Where are we going?" She smirks.

"Old griffon land."

"Right, more catbutts then." Maddie puts her blade away and nods. She has her coat already.
"Lets go then."

"Nah, the target is a pegasus, and we are going deep into the demonologists' territory."

She nods slowly glancing around the hall.

"Anything on my mind?"
Let's head out.

on your*

Maddie follows you outside, there is even more snow right now, the trees are heavy with it. The smell of the freshly fallen snow is kind of pleasant, familiar, like home..
"Nothing important." Tsk, She has that touch of upsetness in her tone.

Keep silent until we are far enough.
"A clouded mind is the fastest way to get killed."

Maddie continues walking examining you.
"What about you? You like that ..Jasmine and awful lot.. "

"You care?"
Look at her with a smirk.

"Of course not!" She says a little too quickly and looks away from you.

"Maddie, I'd rather hear a hard truth than a comforting lie."

"Yea, well.. do you actually like her?"

"Why does it matter to you?"
Are we being followed?

Roll #1 10 = 10

Maddie scoffs. "All this time you don't sleep with anypony, then she comes along and you can't wait to get in bed with her. I don't get it."
You listen to the area around you, you can hear a single steady heartbeat staying about 20ft from you. Also you and maddie both have a small listening device on you, small as a tick, behind your ears.

"I just needed to let off some steam. And she's easy to talk to."

"And I'm not?" Maddie frowns.

"Are you implying something?"
Smirk at her.

She flicks her ears back in annoyance.
"It doesn't matter, do what you want."

"Do you plan on going into battle with that mood?"

Maddie blinks a few times and looks at you.
"I guess I didn't think of that.."

"What are you even following me for? To get killed?"

"No. I wanted to help." She looks more serious now.

"You are doing great so far."

She smirks back.
"Yea, I'm sure it shows.."

"Now, allow me to teach you an important lesson. Do you have a throwing knife?"

She nods and offers you a small throwing knife.

Take it, sit down and…
Thow it towards the pony that's following us. Very close, but not hitting him.
Just give him a good scare.

Roll #1 4 = 4

The wind knocks your aim off a bit but you think you gave him/her the message.
Maddie looks back at where it landed closely trying to see what you were aiming at.

Keep staring for a moment.
"I don't like to be followed. Not without my consent."
Purpousefully ignore the listening devices.
"Let's go now."

Walk to my destination.

You keep walking until you see the old cliffs of Stormheart, Maddie frowns at them, they look a bit intimidating. You can see one of Morrigan's shadows lurking nearby you now, it offers Maddie the golem wings back.

Turn to the shadow.
"Have you scouted ahead already?"

"Yes. There are a few fliers to watch out for on your way over there, they have sharp eyes. The actual building has about 25 guards on it, and is three stories tall, I would guess that anyone important is up top."
Maddie silently straps on the wings and looks ahead.

I'd rather not let them run free, once the target is down."
MT from here. What can I tell about the compound? Possible entrances?

Roll #1 9 = 9

You can see it from here, its a tall building on a cliff, surrounded by a fence, There are windows, but they are covered in bars. The surest way in is the door, and guards roam the area outside. two teams of three fliers swoop by at regular intervals.

Hide myself, too.
I know what to do.
As soon as one of the flying patrols comes near, kick off some snow to catch their attention.

Roll #1 10 = 10 / Roll #2 2 = 2

Maddie hides almost as naturally as you, but you hide so naturally, so perfectly, that the tiny bit of snow you move looks like nothing but wind.

Okay, plan B.
Sneak down to the ground, approaching the guards on hoof.

there are 7 guards on foot outside, they vigilantly look around themselves for any signs of danger, carefully watching their steps as if afraid of falling into a pit.
You crawl close to the tall gate which wraps around the building, you could risk flying above it or opening it.

Lift a blade to her throat.
"Speak. Quickly."

She gulps nervously "Please don't kill me.. I almost died twice this week already just on the traps.."

Coldly, speak again.

"..5 on each floor.. different places.."

Poke her with the flat side of the sword.
"You will soon bleed out if you don't do something.
The faster you talk, the quicker I will be gone."

She gulps and looks around. "Okay, we put some marks like this." she dips her hoof in her blood and draws a little arrow with a swirl in it. "To tell each other about traps.. Is that good enough?"

"Where is Eston?"

"I don't need to."

"They open up a treasure vault full of magical gear." The pegasus says as innocently as possible, his right ear twitches when he says this, a common tell for ponies.

"I told you. I don't need to lie. If you don't tell me what I need to know, you are no use to me."
Poke him with the sword.

He narrows his eyes at you.
"Each is different: Stairs, Elemental, Golem, or Trap."

"Which one is the stairs?"

"The third one." [ear twitches]

Harden my stare and don't move the sword.

He stares down at your blade and then follows it to your eyes, blinking slowly.

Oh, duh, this is the Old Pomanian style of rune work, you read this in a circular pattern like so and.. Yea, you can totally copy this, but it won't work without a power source and an object to channel the spell throu.

You cautiously move down the hallway, hoovering gently and peak around the corner cautiously.
This room is dimly lit has a table with a pair of chairs at it, there is a locked cabinet against the western wall, and the eastern wall has three iron-bar cells which contain a single prisoner each, but there is room for more than that. The first one you notice is the source of the tapping, an orange unicorn stallion is tapping on the ground with his left hoof at a regular pace, his irises are white, his right hoof is shackled to the floor and he has a sort of ring attached to his horn.
The cell next to him has a tired looking gryphon, grey and white with blue eyes, he sighs "I'm pretty sure they are dead, that tapping won't help." He says toward to unicorn.
"Just let him go, its not like you have any ideas." the blue earth pony mare in the next cell replies and covers herself with a blanket.

"Yes, they are."
Slowly come out of the shadows.
Appraise the prisoners.
"Not many of them left."

Roll #1 8 = 8

The earth pony rolls over and looks at you with a raised eyebrow. "..uh hello there." She looks a little hurt, a few bandage on her left back leg. She doesn't have any weapons on her, or much of anything really, but she seems like she could use a sword. 6/3
The gryphon moves closer to the bars a small smile on his beak. "Oh, really?", he seems better off than the mare, but his wings are bruised. 5/4
The unicorn stops tapping and nods in your general direction. His eyes don't move toward you, as if he can't see you. You guess that he's some kind of caster, but he looks really frail right now, his breathing is a little heavy too. 5/2

"How did you three get in here?"
MT for lies.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Eh, whatever.

"Just unlucky really." The earth pony replies.
"Decided to fly to the wrong place." The gryphon says.
After a long moment the unicorn replies. "A twist of fate."

"How long?"

"2 months" the earth pony says.
"3.. no that was 5 months ago." the gyphon replies.
"..seven weeks, this is the eighth week." The unicorn responds.

"Do you know where their leader hides?"

"Do we look like we know anything?" The mare frowns at you.
The unicorn slowly gestures up.

"Hold on just a few hours more."
Back to the shadows.

Roll #1 6 = 6

You disappear quietly into the shadows. The gryphon looks disappointed and lays back down, the earth pony mare looks annoyed, and the unicorn stallion just keeps staring ahead as if nothing changed.

Backtrack and go for the northern room.
Keep an eye out for shadows.

Roll #1 2 = 2

I meant traps.

File: 1384462918709.png (6.56 KB, 646x477, Floor2.png) ImgOps Google

You don't notice anything off, to the right there is another arrow with a swirl in it pointing toward a circle covered in runes.
To the left is a small room with shelves full of regents: herbs, bones, a few vials of things, and a live snake in a glass box.

Quickly appraise the runes.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Yep, they are runes.

I will decipher them later. Move on, through the storage.

General "watch out" roll.

Roll #1 10 = 10

File: 1384464087655.png (7.95 KB, 646x477, Floor2.png) ImgOps Google

You walk through the storage area and into a small room you spot a single pony standing guard here, and some stairs, when go to step into the room you notice a small bit of string and a slight glow on the floor, this is a trap meant to set anyone on fire who passes into it.

Stairs up or down?

But go back, explore the one door I haven't checked.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Roll #1 9 = 9

File: 1384464694918.png (8.02 KB, 646x477, Floor2.png) ImgOps Google

>rolling before I tell you ~
You head back down the hall to investigate the other door, you note that while this doornob turns it doesn't open, as if it was blocked from the otherside, and you can hear voices from beyond the door.

Pick the lock.

Roll #1 5 = 5

You go to pick the lock, and discover it is unlocked, but something on the other side of the door is keeping it closed.
Next time.
Evil doers
Evil doors
They must be punished.

Very well then.
Peer through the keyhole.

Roll #1 6 = 6

You can see something wooden is blocking the door, perhaps a heavy table? You can still hear soft whispers coming from the room.

…Slice open the door.

Roll #1 10 = 10 / Roll #2 6 + 1 = 7

You sharpen your blades with practiced precision, and then slice the hinges off the door, as well as cutting it in half, as it falls down you can now see into the room, behind a table that is laid sideways there is a pile of stuff, just whatever was in the room it looks like.. and behind that, there are six ponies here, one of them looks to be a pegasus guard, he boldly stands in front of the other five ponies who seem terrified.

Appraise them.
Step forward slowly.
"You know why I am here, right?"
MT, keep always vigilant.

Roll #1 6 = 6 / Roll #2 8 = 8

You casually push their pile of junk aside and they slowly nod. "You want to kill us.."
"Because of him."
"Of because of us.."
"Maybe because of himself.."

Pegasus guard: 5/5: melee, range(gun)
white unicorn stallion: 5/5 caster
Blue unicorn stallion, glowing left eye: 5/5 caster
yellow pegasus mare: 5/5 caster
white earth pony mare, orange mane, glowing right eye: 5/5 caster
grey unicorn mare, dark mane, yellow eyes: 5/5 caster

"Don't think this as an act of force. Think of it as repentance for your crimes. Think of it as the ending you chose."
Sentried Hot Irons on all of them.

You toss a smoke pellet down and disappear, you quickly make your way to each one of the ponies, ensuring that they each meet your blade in turn, cutting their sides as you move to the other side of the room. Before you can turn back you hear them all fall on to the ground, gasping in pain.
"But.. who are you?"

Pegasus guard: 0/4: melee, range(gun)
white unicorn stallion: 0/4 caster
Blue unicorn stallion, glowing left eye: 0/4 caster
yellow pegasus mare: 0/4 caster
white earth pony mare, orange mane, glowing right eye: 0/4 caster
grey unicorn mare, dark mane, yellow eyes: 0/4 caster

"An old shadow."
Jump atop the blue unicorn stallion with the glowing eye.

Roll #1 2 + 4 = 6

You finish off the blue unicorn with a clean stab to the heart. his eye continues to glow.
"..but is it really just you?"
A few of the others sigh, and seem to be trying to struggle to get back to their hooves.

Pegasus guard: 0/4: melee, range(gun)
white unicorn stallion: 0/4 caster
Blue unicorn stallion, glowing left eye: 0/4 caster
yellow pegasus mare: 0/4 caster
white earth pony mare, orange mane, glowing right eye: 0/4 caster
grey unicorn mare, dark mane, yellow eyes: 0/4 caster

"Always has been."
Jump on the other one, with the glowing right eye.
'2d10'+1 to both.

Roll #1 6, 5 = 11

"I see..
How terribly lonely.."

You kill another one with your sharpened blades.

grey unicorn mare, dark mane, yellow eyes: 0/4 caster
yellow pegasus mare: 0/4 caster
Pegasus guard: 0/4: melee, range(gun)
white unicorn stallion: 0/4 caster

Blue unicorn stallion, glowing left eye: 0/4 caster
white earth pony mare, orange mane, glowing right eye: 0/4 caster

Slice all 4 of the remeining ones.
Then, stop.

Roll #1 3 + 1 = 4

Roll #1 8 = 8

You rush with your blades and slice each on them in the chest finishing them off. You are now in a room full of corpses.

Check the two with glowing eyes.

Roll #1 10 = 10

The eyes persist to glow.
The Blue unicorn has: a copy of We are The Children of Tartarus, a sliver key dangling around his neck, an eye patch, a cracked mirror, and a notebook.
The white earth pony has: a copy of We are The Childern of Tartarus, a silver key dangling around her neck, an eye patch, a notebook, a blue crystal, and a talisman.

Pick the silver keys and search the other corpses for similar ones.
Then read through both notebooks.

Roll #1 5 = 5

You find that the other three casters also have sliver keys, but they do not have notebooks.
Skimming the notebooks they seem to be detailing personal experiences with demonic blood, written like diaries they have dates and times of each experience, many of them are similar, the unicorn's progress a bit more rapid and violent. It is noted that gryphons are not as easily influenced.

Mh. Pocket both notepads.
Now, what's in this room?

File: 1384483357207.png (10.11 KB, 646x477, Floor2.png) ImgOps Google

There the door you knocked down. and the pile of random stuff, and the west wall has five small holes in it.

Peek through those holes.

Roll #1 2 = 2

You lean in close and.. Owch you poke your eye on a pointy stone in the wall!

Pumpkin: 4/4

Close the helmet, this will teach me to get comfy on a mission.
Peek again.

Roll #1 3 = 3

You can't see anything but holes here, but.. they look about the right size for those keys you just picked up.

Try putting the keys in the holes and turning them.

Roll #1 7 = 7

File: 1384484003551.png (9.97 KB, 646x477, Floor2.png) ImgOps Google

You hear a slow tumble, a clicking from with in the wall, and then the wall sinks down revealing the stairs, the bulky guards pony you saw before looks up at you with shock and draws a pole arm toward you.

Appraise them.
Sentry sharpen, stand in position, drawing my sword and pointing it towards them as I get ready to jump into action.

Roll #1 3 = 3

You sharpen your blades and decide he looks decently tough, you feel a bit uneasy about him, as if he's hiding something.
Pegasus guard pony: 18/5: melee (pole arm)

First thing first.
Run up to him as if attacking, then Vanish and place a rune on the top of his polearm! Sabotage!

Roll #1 7 = 7

The pony groans as you toss down a smoke pellet at the last moment blinding him while you place an explosive rune on his weapon. "Fucking rogues.."

Fucking rogues?
I love to!

Roll #1 6 + 3 = 9

You stab him and as expected he falls helpless.. but his body glows with an aura much like the eyes of the mages. He gets back up and glares at you.
"I Really. Hate. Rogues."

Pumpkin: 4/4

Pegasus guard pony: 7/4: melee (pole arm)

"My feelings about demonologists are neutral."
Call the explosion of the rune, and rush at him right after, double slicing him.
'2d10'+2 each.

Roll #1 7, 5 = 12

His weapon explodes in his face and you take advantage of this momentary confusion to charge in an slice him with each of your blades.
He huffs angrily as you send him to the ground again and with shear will power rises up, he is breathing much more heavily now and doesn't reply.

Pumpkin: 4/4

Pegasus guard pony: 4/2: melee (pole arm)

"You seem troubled."

Roll #1 9 + 3 = 12

You toss another smoke pellet in his face. "You're just taunting me now." He says as he tries to clear the air around him and stab into his side, making a long slice that tears open his leg. He falls down and doesn't get back up this time. "damn it…"

Pumpkin: 4/4

Pegasus guard pony: 0/1:

"Yes. Yes I were."
Finish him.

Roll #1 2 + 2 = 4

You go for his heart and he knocks your sword off course glaring at you hard. "Do you know why I hate rogues?"

Pumpkin: 4/4

Pegasus guard pony: 0/1:

Coldly backstab him.
"How could I know?"

Roll #1 2 + 3 = 5

He rolls to the side to ovoid you. "They always think they're right." He breathes heavily and closes his eyes, "they think they're smarter than everyone else.." with a last effort he rolls himself into the fire trap and is engulfed in flames. Roll.

Pumpkin: 4/4

Pegasus guard pony: 0/0

'1d10'. +1 if it's a dodge.
I should be able to hide behind the stairs.

Roll #1 8 = 8

You hide behind the stairs quickly and wait until the heat and the light of the flames die out completely.
You wind up without even a bit of ash on yourself.

He's the first one I've met tonight who didn't fear death.
He was different.
Stealth, move upstairs.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Roll #1 4 = 4

Its kind of hard to stealth when everything is so bright, I mean where did this bright blue light some from anyway..

*come from

Avert my eyes!
MT to quickly gauge the situation!

Roll #1 2 = 2

next time
what is that blue light?

You looks away and from the top of the stairs, slowly backing off and see a translucent pony appear next to you and strike you with its hoof, it hurts a lot more than you would think.
Pumpkin: 1/4

translucent pony: ???

Backflip and sentry sharpen!
Appraise it.

Roll #1 6 = 6

You flip backwards and sharpen your blades against each other making sure you are ready to kill and look at the pony attacking you, its a more transparent version of a tan unicorn wearing a cultist rope.. This is a hastily formed doppelganger, which means that the caster can't be far away.

Pumpkin: 1/4

Doppelganger: 7/1

Vanish and drop atop it.

Roll #1 5 + 3 = 8

You disappear from sight and fly above the creation to bring down your blades on it, Its form ripples and staggers backwards.

Pumpkin: 1/4

Doppelganger: 3/1

Slash twice at it now, end this quick.

Roll #1 6, 9 = 15

You cut transparent pony twice and it disappears leaving nothing but a bit of dust.

Now, quick, scan the room for the caster!

Roll #1 4 + 1 = 5

You look around and don't see anyone, but you do see a bolt of magic being fired toward you, its just a little too fast to dodge and you fall helpless, a very real looking tan colored unicorn then choosing to emerge from his hiding place, staring you down from under the hood of his robe.
"You will leave here in pieces."

Pumpkin: 0/3

Caster: ???

Appraise him.
And EA up, cracking my neck.

Roll #1 3 = 3

He is a brown unicorn, he has green eyes, and some kind of crystal pendant on his neck.
He looks taken back when you stand up so easily.

Pumpkin: 5/3

Caster: 5/5

Poor sob.
Vanish, backstab.

Roll #1 8 + 3 = 11

don't mind this.

Roll #1 6, 3, 3, 7, 4, 2, 3, 9, 6, 4, 7, 9 = 63

You move behind him with a fluid flip and thrust your blade into the pony, dark red blood flows from the wound and he struggles to breathe as he falls to the ground.

Pumpkin: 5/3

Caster: 0/3

Clean my blades and sheat them. Now, what's this room like?

The room at the top of the stairs is a long tunnel, much like the entrance to a maze. But you can hear something echoing down the hallway.

Stealth and keep moving.

Roll #1 8 = 8

You sneak quietly and calmly along, the hall, up ahead you see a pair of roaming golems, their steps echo as they walk and they don't notice you.

Quickly appraise their strength, but move ahead otherwise, letting them be.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Roll #1 3 = 3

You stop to study them and they turn towards you looking closely at the area you are hiding in before they continue walking. Apparently they aren't capable of seeing throu stealth.

That's very, very convenient.
What pattern are they walking exactly?

they are walking around the hallways, they have a sort of symbol branded on their chests, looks like it can be used to summon them somewhere else.

Well damn.
Inspect them very closely then.
And take advantage of their inability to see me to place a rune right on the sign!

Roll #1 5 = 5 / Roll #2 3 = 3

You believe they are most likely hollow, and that destroying parts of their shells would weaken them significantly. They wield large axes, and seems about as bulky a knight.

2 golem ponies: 8/6

You mess up your rune and the piece of paper burns away in your hoof

Well okay. No use delaying this.
Sentry sharpen my blades.
This should get their attention.

You run your blades against each other and the golems stop drawing their axes toward your direction.
Show yourself one them speaks in a ghostly tone.

Jump out of the shadows and slice at both of them. Cut off their front hooves.
Hot Irons.

Roll #1 1 + 1 = 2

Roll #1 9 = 9

You rush toward them and they both swing at you once you get in range. Predictable, foolish even, you easily dodge to the left and cut one hoof off each of them, they struggle with their axe's weight look at you with their gently pulsing eyes, you can see a network of glowing runes on the inside of their shell like bodies. Some magic seems to leak out.
2 golem ponies: 2/5

It's time like these I wish I were a paladin.
Neverming, just keep going.
Vanish and backstab one of them.

Roll #1 6 + 4 = 10

yea, a paladin would be a good ally wouldn't they..
Using your pouch of infinite smoke pellets you blind the golems, and flip behind one, slicing off a section of its back, and throwing his balance off.. he lands on the ground magic seeping into the room.
1 golem pony: 2/5
1 golem pony: 0/4

Jump atop the other with my two swords!

Roll #1 10, 3 = 13

The golem sees you coming and tries to stop you with his axe, he can't put much power behind it with only one hoof to hold it up..
You take advantage of the opening after his strike to deal a slicing blow, cutting the rune off his chest and watching as he falls to the ground.
His eyes show some kind of recognition at the fallen piece of his chest and he pushes it away from himself.

Pumpkin: 4/3

1 golem pony: 0/4 sliced chest plate
1 golem pony: 0/4 sliced back plate

They have been dealt with.
Now, stealth again and move on.

Roll #1 10 + 1 = 11

File: 1384649168060.png (5.08 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

You move quietly away from the fallen golems, The shadows hiding you, your hoofsteps muffled, and your breath as quiet as a whispering wind. You turn the corner and see that the hall keeps going north and to the right there is a path. Down the right path you see a strange plant, its green leaves glowing a dull blue color.

Blue again?
Appraise it quickly.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Ruse my idiocy?

Roll #1 1 = 1

Its a potted plant, some type of fern, its leaves gently glow blue. You could carry it with you easily, it even has a nice scent to it.

I'm not interested in plants.
What's behind it?

you're walking past the plant or just looking?

File: 1384649945045.png (5.16 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

There are two doors across from each other.

Okay. Why would anyone place a plant in the middle of a goddamn hallway.
I'm wary of that stuff.
Flatten against the other side of the wall and move north.

Its a very pleasant plant, it has a nice light smell, and the gentle glow crates a soft light.

Moving north you locate a door, and an orange brick to the side of the door.

File: 1384650362655.png (5.31 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

An… Orange brick?
Appraise it.
And MT for traps.

Roll #1 8 = 8 / Roll #2 5 = 5

You circle around the brick looking carefully, you can see a slot about the right size for one of those silver keys.

Based on the fact that many other doors were trapped, is most likely a trap attached to this door.

But I have the key.
Place one of the keys in the slot, and turn it.

File: 1384651189423.png (5.48 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

You turn the key into the slot and the door before you opens slowly, the sound of tiles flipping and setting into place. Behind the door is what looks like a library, shelves full of books line the walls and create three rows, you can hear someone moving around in here, mumbling to themselves. "..witch weed.. poison joke.. snow.."

Poison joke?
Move through the shelves, identify the pony talking to himself.

Roll #1 5 = 5

You see a yellow pegasus stallion, his eyes are an unnatural red, and shaped a bit like a bird's eyes. His mane is white, and his chest and back area are covered with some kind of dark.. skin? It resembles cooled off lava.

What the…
Appraise him from the darkeness of my hiding place.

Roll #1 6 = 6

File: 1384652484352.png (5.69 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

You can tell a few things right away: He's wearing a catalyst pendant, a sliver bird with a blue gem in the center, his eyes dart around as he picks up a few more books, perhaps he is aware of certain certain sneaky things, less sneaky than you of course, you who cleverly lurk a top the shelves. He probably uses a lot of ice magic, he has a bracelet on his left ankle, and his right back hoof has a demonic symbol on it.. and that.. odd shell he has will make it hard to get at his vitals, but maybe you can pry it off somehow. He matches the description for Eston perfectly. He twitches a bit, and then throws the whole stack of books onto the floor, grumbling angerily at them before turning toward the wall and shakily hoovering to a small yellow gem at the top of the wall.

Pegasus Eston: 20/10

Let's get this show on the road.
Rig the shelves to fall on him at my command.
'1d10' sabotage.

Roll #1 3 = 3

You carefully try to rig the shelves, but find yourself too distracted by Eston, who opens up a secret passage in the wall just big enough for a pegasus to fly into. "Fire ferns, the key must be fire ferns.." he says as he slips into the opening.

Damn! Follow after him, still hidden.

File: 1384653473657.png (8.9 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

You follow him quickly down the tunnel and emerge into an actual room, there is a summoning circle on the floor, a sofa against the wall, a table full of various objects, potion vials, and a small burner, a bed with the sheets tossed onto the floor, and another of those odd fern plants like in the hallway.

Damn, a summoning circle?
Is it complete?
'1d10' appraise.
If it is, Sabotage it.

Roll #1 7 = 7 / Roll #2 7 = 7

It is complete, and old, as if placed here at least a year ago. You float over to it and place an explosive rune inside the circle, next to another of the runes, you try to match the color as best you can, but it still stands out as new.
Eston twitches and hoovers over his table examining the various vials of things, eventually he picks one up looking it over and mixes it with another.
"yes, just be quiet a moment.. a moment of rest.. no.. I know what we need, but Merdith is not here, we must do it ourselves."
he turns on the burner and begins to heat the mixture.

Very well.
Now, sentry sharpen.
Dive down from my hiding place and burn Eston's face on the burner!

Roll #1 5 = 5

You sharpen your blades against each other and drop down from above, but Eston swivels to the side. "YOU! You must be the one who ruined all my traps!" He says with his red eyes glaring at you.

"Not even a tought for your ponies?"
Slice at his bracelet!

Roll #1 5 + 1 = 6

"My ponies.. yes, you must he seen them.. Probably dead.. but.. I can bring them back! The good ones like Merdith, and Hanset.. Once I deal with you.."
You cut at the bracelet, weakening it enough that another hit will take it off, the strike also hits his hoof.

Pumpkin: 5/3

Eston: 19/10

Backstab the back leg with the demonic sign on it, trying to disfigure it.

Roll #1 9 + 3 = 12

He twitches even more attempting to aim a bluish ball of magical energy at you but missing as you move and circle behind him, cutting into his right leg directly through the demonic rune peeling off part of the skin, black blood drips to the floor.
"ugh, that hurts!" Eston says as his spell hits nothing but his wall, and he looks back at the mixture on the burner.

Pumpkin: 5/3

Eston: 12/10

"It's a side effect of being stabbed."
Now, slice across him, painfully pulling the sword out by the jagged part and slicing into the forehoof and the band on it!
'2d10'+2 each.

Roll #1 3, 7 = 10

"What about side effects of ice?"
His body pluses and a blue wave knocks into you, you feel cold, in your bones, as if you are moving slower now. Before this can take full effect you slice off the bracelet leaving a small cut on his hoof.

Pumpkin: 5/3

Eston: 10/10

2 is also a crit fail for the next 1 turn
for the next '1d3' turns only nat 10 crits or stealth crits are crits

Roll #1 3 = 3

Damn, he was faster than me.
Wince, but get back on the ready and line up another hit!
Go for the chestpiece, slice if off with a critical move!

Roll #1 4 + 3 = 7

You try to slice the blackened chest area off, Eston looking horrified as you try this, he back away, and you leave him with a cut, red ooze slowly drips from the strange chest armor.
"Don't touch that!" His tone between a whisper and a hiss, something deep about it.

Pumpkin: 5/3

Eston: 8/10

Take this moment to call the explosion on the rune, to distract him.
Then, trap his chestpiece. '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

The explosion causing him to duck behind the table, and cover his eyes with his wings he looks a little sad as his circle falls apart.. The floor there breaks and crumbles into the floor below, you hear a soft scream of surprise from the newly formed hole.
Eston never sees you move to the other side of him and place an explosive rune on his darkened chest plate.
"You don't understand what you're doing!" He cries out at you. "What you're undoing!"

Pumpkin: 5/3

Eston: 8/10

Appraise the chestplace.
And backstab him.
"Illuminate me."

Roll #1 4 + 1 = 5 / Roll #2 1 + 4 = 5

Ruse the backstab!

Roll #1 4 = 4

You can't tell much about it, except that where you cut.. the red ooze leaking out seems almost.. alive.. You feel Eston tackle you down to the ground, his red eyes looking insane at you.
"You won't separate us. I won't let you."

Pumpkin: 0/2

Eston: 8/10

Escape artists up.
Call the explosion on his chestpiece.
"Sorry to disappoint…"

You slip away and trigger the explosion before he can even blink, he screams in pain and falls to the ground on fire, the blacked shell now a mound of red ooze that seems more inhibiting than anything, sticking to his hooves and wings in a tangled mess, but at least that ooze seems to have put out most of the fire, only a few feathers and tuffs of fur remain in flames.

Pumpkin: 5/2

Eston: 0/9

Rush towards him and impale him with a backstab.
"Now you are together once more."

Roll #1 8 + 4 = 12

"…no.. not now.." The ooze slows your blade down but you power through it and stab into his heart a gentle beating sound echos through the ooze as you feel the pony's heart stop, black blood leaking into the red ooze.

Pumpkin: 5/2

Eston: 0/0

Let out a sigh of relief and pull back.
Time to inspect the body for anything he might have on himself.
'1d10' And the room, too.

Roll #1 10 = 10

File: 1384659197164.png (10.62 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

Inspecting the body you see the ooze is soaking up the blackened blood, the bird shaped necklace with the blue gem shines at you, and he has a book on alchemy on him.
Looking around the room you see the alchemical nature of the objects on the table, the plant in the corner still pluses gently, the hole where the summoning circle was leads down to where the prisoners are. The bed sheets on the floor, and the slightly burnt bed frame seems ordinary enough, a few boxes are stored under here. The sofa has fallen completely through the hole.

Pick up the book and necklace before falling down the hole.
"Sorry for the mess. Are you alright?"

Oh yeah, before leaving, check the boxes under the bed.

File: 1384660037006.png (12.12 KB, 646x477, Floor2.png) ImgOps Google

The boxes are sealed with a magical spell, there are three total, each about a foot long.
You flutter down the hole and look at the prisoners, seems like you didn't hurt them with the mess but they are backed away as far as possible from the wreckage.
"Yea, just fine.." The mare says staring at you.
The gryphon is passed out in his cell, and the unicorn tilts his head at you. "He's dead right?"

Griffons are more resilient to the demonic corruption…
"I hope."
Cut open the cells of the two ponies, but stop in front of the griffon's, making noise to wake him up.

Roll #1 1 = 1

If you count that to cut, ruse it. Otherwise don't.

Roll #1 2 = 2

The earth pony mare walks out of her cell to stand next to you, as you whistle to try and wake the gryphon. You open the Unicorn's cell and he gently tugs on the shackle on his hoof and looks in your direction expectantly. You note that the ring is still locked on his horn.
"Its probably no use, cat-bird has been asleep ever since you left. The explosion didn't do anything to stir him." The mare explains.

"I see."
Appraise the Gryphon.
And remove the ring from the unicorn's horn, and undo both ponies' shackes.

Roll #1 2 = 2

You pick the locks on the shackles and remove the ring from the unicorn's horn. The orange unicorn smiles and his body glows yellow a moment, he comes closer to you. "He's not a demon, its okay." the unicorn whispers to you.
You look the gryphon over, he shakes slightly, and coughs a bit. He is reacting as if he was poisoned by something. 5/3
"Hey.. Glenn.. wake up!" The blue mare tries. The gryphon reacts to her, opening his eyes.
"Yea, that's it big guy, try to get up."
The gryphon stands up slowly and looks at you. "I knew you'd come back."

Nod slowly.
"I did promise.
But you are ill. Poisoned. Any idea what it is?"
Shift through Eston's notes. He was doing alchemic research.

Roll #1 9 = 9

"No." The gryphon shakes his head. "Not exactly, but it didn't do what they wanted it to."

You see a recipe for a liquid poison that has been bookmarked, the slip of paper on the inside says 'traditionally used to weaken lions, may help to speed along corruption only apply once a week'

How is it made? What counters its components?
MT, discern an antidote.
"What did they want it to do?"

Roll #1 2 = 2

You can counter this with a mixture of Black Carapone, Mint DiamondWeed, and Safforic Leaves, boiled for 6 minutes or until a pale blue color.
"Demons, it was always about the demons, wanting to know how to enhance gryphons with demon blood or something." The gryphons says bitterly.

"Yeah. Too bad they don't know the truth, uh?"
Open his cell.
"Come with me."
To the storage room!

"..what truth?" Glenn asks confused.
All three of the prisoners follow you, the gryphon walking closely to the blue mare and the unicorn trailing behind following your hoof steps.

"Help me find [List of ingredients]."

Roll #1 8 = 8

You hoover around the shelves and find of of the ingredients, the prisoners bring you what you didn't find.
"Okay. Now what?" The blue mare asks.

"Now, I'm gonna work on something. Say, what are you experienced in, miss…?"

"..Victory Veil.. I'm Victory Veil.. I was a warrior, training to be a leader, but.. I'm not good with this kind of thing." She frowns at the pile of herbs.

"Nevermind then.
Go through this book and look for pointers on griffons."
Give her the diaries.
Up to the floor above. There was an alchemic lab, I think.

"Alright." She nods to you, Glenn leans on her shoulder as she reads, and the unicorn absently presses the room with yellowish magic.
Eston had a lab set up, yes. You go back to his room, his dead body still on the floor near the table, the ooze darkened black by his blood, and find the substance he was heating is completely burnt now.

Too bad for him.
Throw it away and and clean the pots. Time to make my own mix now.

Roll #1 3 = 3

You toss the old mixture away and take your time to clean out the tools, you mix up your own potion and wait for it to brew, …6 minutes later you have a vial with a pale blue substance inside.

Appraise it. Looks good?

Roll #1 10 = 10

It looks decent, a little weak perhaps, maybe a more concentrated version is appropriate here.

Go for a second try.

Roll #1 9 = 9

You mix another batch and wait for it to change to that pale blue color, it looks deeper and richer than last time, and you can smell the Mint diamondweed this time, this should help a lot more.

"We are ready."
Turn to the griffon.
"Go ahead. Try this."

You return to the gryphon and hoof over to potion to him, he looks at it a moment before drinking it.
He coughs a bit and falls to his knees but then seems to get some color back as the blue mare helps him stand back up.
"I feel a little better now." Glenn says.
"Yea, you're going to be fine now big guy." V.V. encourages him.
The unicorn stays quiet.

"Found anything in the books?"

"Nothing useful, this seems like its all about the ponies. They mention Ongoing fustrations with trying to spread the corruption to gryphons several times, and.."
She frowns and flips the pages.
"There is one entry from 2 weeks ago: finally a success with the gryphon, strength was amplified, fatigue still an issue. " she reads aloud.

Turn to the gryphon in the room.
Now that he's had the potion, Appraise.

Roll #1 2 = 2

He seems to be getting better, he stands a little more upright, still tired, he sticks close to the blue mare. 5/4

"Is the griffon they talk about you?"

He looks a little sad and shocked to hear you ask this. "Well, as far as I know I'm the only gryphon here.."

"I see. Stay here."
There are rooms I still haven't checked, on this floor.
Move south.
Avoid the poison joke and keep an eye out with MT.

Roll #1 2 = 2

You continue past the plant, and spot a runic circle that matches the one on the floor below, there is an arrow with a swirl pointing at it.
There are two doors here, one you believe would lead to the library, and another you aren't sure about.

Try the southern door.

You find the lock on this door has been broken and it pushes open easily. Inside you see the a few tables and chairs, the wall looks like it has fold-down beds, You notice about six pegasi on the ground with small throwing knives lodged into them, in the heart of one of them you see a dagger with a fan-like hilt, you look up at the ceiling and see a familiar yellow mare upside down with goo on her hooves, she is attempting to remove the gunk with a knife and not seeing much success, but one of her hooves is not attached to the ceiling at least. She looks over at you and seems to sigh.

File: 1384713355428.png (12.62 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

Raise a brow and open the faceplate.

She sticks her knife into the ceiling and replies. "Uh.. can I get a hoof here?"

Sigh and flutter up to her.
"How did this happen?"
Carefully cut her free.

She blushes a bit as you pull you her free . "That one pushed me, and then I was forced up here."
She points to one of the bodies as she carefully hoovers and wipes off the sticky slime.

Look her over.
"Did they do anything to you?"

Roll #1 5 = 5

She seems okay enough, notably her left rear leg has a large cut on it. 6/4
"Besides try to kill me? No. They didn't have time."
She reclaims her knives.

"Good. They have the bad habit of sticking demons inside their guests."
Nod her to follow, and enter the last room I haven't visited yet.

Roll #1 8 = 8

File: 1384715408128.png (13.16 KB, 646x477, Floor3.png) ImgOps Google

"Ew." She says as she follows you.
You carefully step to the right of a subtly placed trap, there is another plant here in the corner, and a few benches on the side, a shelf above each one with a small statue, and the center of the room is totally and completely empty. made of smooth black stone.

"I don't even want to know what they used this place for.
Let's leave."
Back to the others. Time to leave this place behind.

You and maddie head back to the three prisoners.
Glenn looks a little warily at you, Veil greets you with a simple nod, and the unicorn doesn't acknowledge you, staring off into the distance with his white irises.

"Time to leave. We have a place nearby, with warm beds and medical supplies on top.
Everything will be alright now."

"Lead the way then." Veil smiles and falls in line behind you, Glenn sticking close to her.
"Can you drop me off somewhere? I don't want to stay with spies." The unicorn replies.

"I would if there was anywhere to.
And you might need deep examinations before we can be sure you are fine."

The unicorn sighs and follows behind. "Anywhere would be preferable Blade Master.." He adds the last part in Norse.
Glenn: "Well, as long as they don't separate us."
V. Veil "It will probably be for the best, at least to get looked over."
Maddie: "I don't think they can fly."

Do I…
Recognize him?
"We are going by hoof. Might take us a while."

Roll #1 2 = 2

No, just some random orange unicorn, he's even blind, so its not like he recognized your appearance, maybe your voice?
They nod. Maddie looks them over once more and also nods. "Okay, lets got then, its a long walk."

fast travel to the CIA base?

Yes. But along the way take him by the side.
"Who are you, stallion?"

"I am Tiresias, I am supposed to help you..
You who will secure the keys.
The Northlander.
This will be difficult if Evergrasp keeps me in his hide out..
He whispers in a hushed tone, switching over to norse just to be sure.

Wait, let's say that before this I even pulled out the bugs on me and covered them.
"How do you know my name and mission?"

"She told me." He replies back to you.

"I've met an awnful lot of shes in my time."

"I know her as Green, but you may know her as The Master, I know she has not spoken directly too you recently.. but perhaps you noticed a voice in your dream, or a whisper in your thoughts?"

"And what of her and you?"
I liked it better when the master didn't look like a pretty mare.

"..I am supposed to help you locate the keys.."
He repeats from earlier.

"Yes but w-here are you coming from?"

"..I come from what is now called Ponetia, a coastal town, north of here."
Yea, wait, you've been there before, it was called Thornbese before, back when Rosefall was still intact.

"I have a safe place for you."
Motion to Maddie I'm taking a detour. Mouth the words Be Slow and confide her the listening devices.
Then, head for the Deep Roads.

"Thank you" You take the unicorn toward deep roads, he feels his way forward with yellowish magic avoiding falling down holes or into tree while he follows you.

Maddie nods and mouths back Got It while leading the two on wards toward the secret base.

"What is your name, unicorn?"

"Tiresias." He reiterates as you walk, the tunnels long and dark before you. "Green thought it was an amusing name."

Keep moving.
"Is Green all you ever knew in your life?"

"No, just the most important thing."

"The keys. How much do you know about them?

"I know much about the keys, Where and When they might surface, their purpose, and their potential."

"And why were you sent?"

"To help you Pumpkin Swansong, to relay information about them to when it was needed.."

"Start now then. Tell me all you know about the keys."

The unicorn smiles slightly.
"Long ago, before time was charted, and ponies were a new creature, The Seven Great Elementals roamed the lands, using their powers to influence the world, and keeping in balance with each other.
All the creatures adored the Great Elementals and sought them out for advice, aid, or company, all except the Elemental of Death. The Death Elemental was lonely, and only had one creature as its friend, a gray fox called Lilith, and they spent many years together speaking of many things. The creatures of the world grew stranger and more powerful as time went on, some of them blessed with powerful magic from the other elementals. One day, Lilith complained to Death about how she could eat nothing but scraps and that the other creatures were cruel to her because she did not have any magic. Lilith pleaded to the Elemental of Death, to grant her some kind of magic, her long tail swishing and her ears bent back to make her eyes seem larger, Death took pity on her and called to meeting the other elementals. "We must help the Gray foxes, they can no longer hunt in this world without magic" Death declared.
The Elementals of Life and Earth replied with scorn "The gray foxes have been fine all this time, there is no need to do this, and it would throw off the balance of the world."
"This creature is taking advantage of you Death, it has no need of such powers."
The others seemed not so eager to go against Life and Earth.. However the ever curious Arcane Elemental replied "I will help you Death, together we shall bless your Gray fox with an all new magic, that will surely protect them." For you see, when two elementals work together, they can create something that normally would not exist, Earth and Ice together made the northern lands we now trot under..
Tiresias pauses to take a breath.
"Death sighed and looked to the group "Any who wish to help me, Acrane and I will bestow a gift of power to the gray fox at the next high moon."
And so at the next high moon, Lilith sat with the Arcane and Death elementals, and to their great surprise Earth and Life came as well. "We will lend some of our power to your cause Death. Surely this creature that means so much to you deserves our attention."
"Thank you Cousins." Death replied with a smile on his voice.
And so the four of them combined their efforts and gave Lilith a new kind of magic. Or so it appeared. Life and Earth were concerned about the kind of results this new magic would have, and what they really did was to insert a weakness into Lilith's new power, a weakness that would be needed all too soon..
As Lilith used her new energy to ravage the world and take what she wanted, she found she was able to infect other creatures, twisting their desires to her own, and making them more like her. By the time that Death saw her again, Lilith was a fox no more, but a demon, and she had changed a thousand creatures to be like her. Death pleaded for her to stop this madness, and Lilith refused, leaving no choice for the elementals but to fight her and all the other demons, and create an isolated space for them.
The seven elementals each played a part: Earth and Fire formed the new world for the demons, Arcane took it upon himself to maintain the portal to the new world, Life lead the fight against the demons, followed by Ice, and Lighting, and then Fire and Earth once they had completed the new world. Many who were blessed by the Elementals, directly or indirectly, also fought in this great battle.

"The tide was so greatly against the demons, that they were forced into the portal, Lilith being the origin was the most powerful and the last to be pushed into the portal.
At this moment The Seven Great Elementals combined their powers, in what they had agreed would be their last act in the world.. for their interference had caused this mess, more interference must be avoided.. They sealed the portal forever, leaving nothing behind but a small chunk of themselves, which was then scattered to the winds so that none could abuse their powers again.
But, even in that final moment, Death pitied Lilith and left a small crack in his magic that could lead to her, so that in someway, Death would still be connected to his old friend Lilith.
Others would come to know about this crack, this path, and would use it to contact demons, the place they were banished to, became known as Tartarus."

"That is what the keys are, They seal away the most powerful and ancient demons."

"Death sounds like an old fool."

"At some point we are all old fools." He replies softly.

"So the keys would bring forth an invasion.
And why have they been dormant so long?"

"They were supposed to stay dormant forever, hidden away as nothing more than old relics or good luck charms, some guarded by those descended from the armies that pushed back the demons in the olden times. But, time wears on the memory, and few even know more than the barest of facts about the legend. Shrines once put in place to honor the Elementals and safegaurd their essence, now lie in ruins and the keys stolen like common loot."

"But, this time is important, 500 years ago, a great deal of magic was gathered, an empire created that could influence lands beyond its borders with its very emotions.. and this empire wanted power.. It needed power to survive, this pure desire awakened the keys, because they are power, and the elementals themselves were power, made to grant power to those who needed it. The sudden silence of that call came too late, and the keys were already seeking to fulfill their purpose. It has taken these five hundred for anypony to realize what they had, for the legend was all but lost. "

"And why trust me with them?"

With a soft smile he answers. "Because Green is also an old fool."

Shake my head.
"Not the Master I remember.
So, where to next?"

"That is more correct than you may realize Lord Swansong.
The key you must secure next is the key of Life, for it has strayed close to the Sun Princess and should she notice it, she will not give it up easily."

"That's damn far."

"Then I suggest you ask your friend Jasmine if she knows a fast way home."

"You know way more than you let on, do you?"

His only reply is a small smile.

"This will have to do as your home for the time being."
Introduce him to kilana and tell her about him.

After hearing your explanation Kilana nods. "Tiresias.. You are welcome here, would you like an undead to help escort your around? I could assign you one."
"That would be helpful Lady Kilana."
"Of course."

Now wait to be alone with her.
"Keep an eye out.

"You believe he's dangerous then?"

"Not directly, no. But I told you about the Master bfore."

Kilana gives you a nod, narrowing her green eyes "I recall you had nothing good to say about him, which makes his sending a prophet a little unusual..right?"

He's usually not so… Upfront, in dealings with the likes of us."

"…do you think something happened?"

"Maybe. Maybe things are worse than they ever were.
Anyway, I don't have time to stop. The equestrians still think I'm on my way to their base.
Be aware, they might have spies in here too."

"Alright, you be careful out there bro, I don't want to see Morrigan or Maddie dragging your body back to me over this.. whatever this is.."
She pulls you into a hug.

Hug her back.
"I won't die. Again."

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10

You hug her with perfect placement, and emit a gentle warmth from your crystal body, Kilana giggles softly back "Better not. I can only revive you about a hundred more times after all." She comments as she releases you.

"You'd just grow bored to death without me~"
Let's catch up with the others.

Roll #1 7 + 1 = 8

You know very well the land and the path that they would follow, you flutter down and land in front of the group of three.
"Welcome back." V. says to you.

"Sorry. Took a leak."
Smirk at them and take the listening devices back from Maddie, planting them again where they were before I left.

Maddie silently returns them to you, and nods.
V. sighs "Right, are we close now? I'd really like to see Glenn lie down to rest.."
"I'm alright, really.. You're the one with the bad leg" Glenn says.
"I can walk just fine."
Maddie rolls her eyes at the conversation, apparently they have been going on like this for a while.

Smile at the scene and take the head of the group.
"Let's go everypony.
And gryphon."

You lead them to the mountain where the secret base is, and feel the wind blowing, night has fallen yet again, the moon is a little fuller than last night, a few clouds dot the skies, and you feel as if you're being watched.

No shit.
"I bring friends."

A pair of stallions in stealth suits drop down seemingly out of nowhere, Veil and Glenn look a little intimidated by this.
"Your friends are hurt. So are you." One of them says.
The other produces a pair of blindfolds "For your friends." He gives you a flat expression that sort of asks do I really have to explain why

No of course he doesn't.
Pass the blindfolds along and help them tie them on.
"That we are. I hope your infermery's beds are nice enough."

"They aren't bad."
With the blindfolds secure on the former prisoners the stallions nod to you and help escort your group inside, turning down the brightened halls to guide the four of you to the infirmary before removing the blindfolds and taking their leave. Quickly a group of four ponies in nurse uniforms come to your sides, a unicorn stallion, a unicorn mare, a pegasus stallion, and lastly the pegasus mare from last night that scolded jasmine.
The unicorn mare smiles sweetly, approaching Victory Veil, "I'm Heartful Hooves, please let me look you over Miss."
The pegasus nods toward the gryphon. "Lets see what we can do for you, alright?"
The unicorn stallion looks between you and maddie and then to the pegasus mare who has a small smirk.
"So, you found your way here on your own, huh?" She says to you teasingly.

Glenn shys away from the doctors. "I'd rather not.. be alone.."
"Come on big guy, its not so bad." V. nudges him. "Probably the best help around. And I'll be right around the corner."

Next time
I need a doctor, call me a doctor
I need a doctor, to bring me back to life.

"I left something behind."
Smile back.

As Glenn and Victory are lead away down the hall you are left with the unicorn stallion and pegasus mare.

"Nurse Ethan Pom, Please examine this stallion for head trauma, I think he may be suffering sort-term memory loss." She says continuing her smirk.
The unicorn raises a brow at her as if trying to see if she's serious "…"
which causes the mare to sigh a little at him. "They don't look too bad, just do a basic healing and check up. "
"Yea, of course. I'll start with you then." He says to Maddie and guides her to the hall full of small beds surrounded by curtains, apparently that's the light care section, he guides her to an empty bed and closes the curtain around them.

Look at her disappear behind the curtains and turn to a nurse.
"Do I get a bed too?"

The pegasus mare tilts her head at you and guides you to a bed with a curtain as well.
"Where does it hurt?" She says as she puts a hoof over your vial organs pressing gently. You feel a stinging pain as she touches your left side, just about where your kidney is.

"Just about there, yeah."

"Hmm." her hoof glows slightly and you feel the familiar magic of healing flow from her to you, the pain subsides and she nods slowly. "Anywhere else?"

Roll #1 1 = 1

Guess that's plenty of places!

"Tsk. I thought you'd be more careful, seems like you really do want to stay here overnight." She lays you down and heals each of the spots you indicated, wrapping some of them with bandages that feel very nice, as if they are numbing the pain. It takes '1d3' hours in total and she seems a little tired afterward. "Stay here a moment." She says firmly.

Roll #1 1 = 1

"Not going anywhere…"

She comes back after a moment with a small bottle.
"Take this, its to make sure you aren't infected with anything."
and then she looks you over '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

Appraise it.

Roll #1 10 = 10

Its a white liquid, that strong smell, its definitely an antibiotic, with a touch of cleansing magic to combat any demonic or dark magic you may have encountered. If you were a weaker pony it would also make you fall asleep for about 2 hours, but you have a high tolerance.
what you think she was trying to poison you?

Well yes. Amongst spies, never rest.
Drink it.
"Just like old times."

"Some things never change." She smiles softly at you and takes the empty bottle from your hooves. "You can leave when you feel up to it."
As your doctor turns to leave Madison pokes her head behind your curtain "Hey, feeling better pretty boy?"

"I've been worse.
How are you holding up?"

"Of course I'm fine, It wasn't even that deep of a cut. " She smiles and brings a tray with soup and a glass of wine to set down next to you. "So.. I heard you haven't eaten yet?" She comes close to your side.

"Now where the heck did you pull that from?"

"I asked nicely. You'd be surprised what a lonely chef will do for a pretty mare."

"Well then, shouldn't that pretty mare eat her soup before it's cold?"

She stares at you. "Just eat pretty boy. Or I'll go find some-stallion else who wants it."

Sigh and start eating.
"I love it."

Roll #1 4 = 4

You don't love it and it shows, Maddie frowns slightly but nods. "You just want to leave, huh? Or you want me to leave. "

"Maddie, we are in a hospital. I have nowhere to go."

"…" she puts a hoof next to you. "…then I'll just you rest.. I'll find you in the morning.."

"Wait. Do me a favor, come over here."
Remove the transmitters from me and her.

You pluck the bugs off both of your ears and Maddie looks curiously at you leaning close so you can whisper.

"Show me what you can do kid. Find the rest."

She smiles and after a moment picks out three similar devices from area and presents them to you.

Is this all?

Roll #1 4 = 4

All that you can see without getting up. Of course you're free to leave if you feel like it, your doc said so after all.

No, I don't plan on leaving. But do stand up and check again.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Yea, that seems like all of them.

"Now we can talk."
Smile at Maddie.

She smiles back at you. "Great. What do you want to talk about?"

"You are acting like a silly girl."

"What do you mean by that?" Maddie pouts slightly.

Give her a costanza face.

"..okay.. go on.."

Back to my bed, I'd rather lie down.
"Have you tought about your sister lately?"

She raises a brow at your grammar.
"I thought about her last night, you know, after I remembered about her.."

"Fair enough.
How much is back?"

"..how would I know if anything was missing?"

"Try to think about… When you were twelve.
If you can't, we know there's still a problem."

"Right.." She closes her eyes, and focuses. '1d3'

Roll #1 1 = 1

She shutters and opens her eyes quickly narrowing her eyes at you. "Yea.. I remember enough."

Frown at her.
"Well that didn't look pleasant."

"That's because it wasn't." she says with tone that indicates she doesn't want to share.
"I guess that means I'm fine?"

"Seems like.
Now, want to share what's the other thing bothering you ever since we came here?"

She sighs. "You mean Jasmine?"

Nod slowly.

"Yea, I kind of get you being like 500 or something.. you wouldn't be interested in anypony since you've seen them all.. but then we come here, and you meet her.. I can't figure out why you like her."

"And this is bothering you."

"When you say it like that it sounds dumb." She frowns.

"Nah, I just find it curious."
Smile slightly.

Maddie sighs and gives you a smirk. "So.. is she a fun lay?"

"She's nice."
Smile back.
"But don't think too much of this, okay?"

"I'll do what I can to find something else to think about." She smiles a bit more honestly.

"So turns out the admirers were two, not even one."

"Apparently they don't do anything alone." She returns your smirk.

Suppress a rifle of laughter.

Roll #1 6 = 6

You manage to suppress your laughter to only a small snicker, maddie laughs softly as well.
"Yea, I guess I was being pretty dumb.."

"Just think about resting now, alright?
You did a great job."
And with that, rest some too.

Roll #1 8 = 8

She smiles proudly as she leaves. "I'll come find you in the morning."
You rest very well, hospital beds are always firm, the pure white sheets have that fresh new feeling, and the snug corners make it easy to relax.
Morning comes you can hear the sounds of ponies moving around, you can smell pancakes and coffee from down the hall, and you hear the voice of a certain jenny nearby.

Mhmmh, pancakes…
Sneak there!

Roll #1 8 = 8

You sneak quietly toward the sweet scent of pancakes, following it down the stairs to the cafeteria where a short line has been formed, ponies and a gryphon or two all gathered around tables eating and talking, the soft roar of the crowd comforting in a way.

Yeeeah… Honor amongst thieves. Except not.
Slip ahead and get a plate and a few pancakes.

Roll #1 10 = 10

You slip past the line snagging a plate and filling it with pancakes and even your favorite syrup before anyone can notice, well, its not like there is a shortage of pancakes.

Now, follow the one voice I did care about earlier…

Roll #1 9 = 9

You sneak past the other ponies, some of them seeming to vanish from the doctor's sides leaving the med staff annoyed.
You see Jasmine in one of the rooms talking to a pale blue mare. "Yea, It was great to see again, try to make it home alright?"
"Don't worry J.J. I'll be fine." The blue mare smiles as she disappears.

Come out right behind her.
"Worrying your head out?"

She coolly answers you. "Only as much as my friends deserve."

"I hope it's nothing bad."
Extend a wing and offer her the plate.

"She's always been fine.." She raises a brow at your plate. "I prefer blue berry, but thanks."

Roll my eyes.
"Darn, my perfect breakfast plan, foiled again!"
Chuckle a bit.

She smiles and takes a bite of the pancakes. "Hmm, that flavor.. Wheat Seed must have made these." She comments with a smile.
"So, you made it back in one piece." poking gently at your bandages. "Or mostly anyway."

"I can sleep this stuff off. Replacing legs, that's a pain, let me tell you!"
Nod towards a table and go sit down.
"And you?"
How does she look? Has she slept enough, does she have fresh cuts..
All that stuff.
'1d10' Appraise.

Roll #1 4 = 4

You guide her over to a table and sit down with her, she looks a little a tired, and is leaning just barely to her left instead of keeping a balanced pose.
"I'm fine, nothing a little rest won't cure."

"Had it tough out there?"

"Its been worse." She smiles and munches on pancakes with you.

Riiiight. Finish breakfast then.
"Knowing how lucky you are, I'm sure of it."

"Luck isn't given, its earned." She replies quickly "So, what are you doing today? Heading out again?" she asks as breakfast comes to a close.

"Well, are you?"

Roll #1 9, 7, 8 = 24

"Yea, later tonight. I can't stand to be in one place you know?"

"It's a big world out there. Gotta see it all before it's too late."
Smile at her and stand.
"Let me drop by Crisp, gotta check a few things up with him.
Say, is he in a bad mood?"

"I'd say he's in a decent enough mood.." She says a bit tentatively.

Raise a brow.
"Something I should know?"

Jasmine raises a brow. "You know you caused him a lot of trouble right? He probably doesn't want to see you."

"A lot of trouble… Again?"

"Nevermind, you're going to see him anyway right?"

"Damn right I am! Gotta clear home before I can leave."

"Well, then it doesn't matter much what kind of mood he's in." She smiles a bit.

Smile back and head for Crispy's office.

You find his office easily and knock on the door hearing a subtle cough from behind you. You turn around to see a white unicorn with a blue mane, he is wearing a dark blue suit and tie.
"Mr. Evergrasp is a little busy right now, perhaps I can assist you?"

Appraise him.
And MT to hear noises from behind the door.
"Yes. By making me speak with him."

Roll #1 8 = 8 / Roll #2 3 = 3

He seems to be a capable fighter, you discern that he has no less than 14 hidden blades on him, as well as a gun and a pouch of smoke pellets. 15/10
"No, I don't think that I will be doing that just now."
You can't hear anything from behind the door.

Turn around and ignore him.
Open the door and enter Crisp's office.

the door is locked.

I should be able to do this reasonably quickly.

Roll #1 2 = 2

You fiddle with the lock top no success and the stallion stares at you.
"Didn't I just tell you he was busy?"

"If my time was worth half of your busy I'd be sleeping all day and getting it on with pretty mares."
Keep going.

Roll #1 7 = 7

You eventually pop the lock open and feel a bit of static coming from the door, roll.

Roll #1 6 = 6

you jump backward letting go of the door before it can electrocute you. The stallion is still staring at you, and you hear a [pomf] of teleportation from behind the door before it slides open to reveal the familiar tan unicorn, Crisp Evergrasp.
"You can go Trent." Crisp says to the stallion who nods and leaves.

Walk in and watch out for traps.
"Hosting dangerous guests, are you?"

Roll #1 5 = 5

"One in particular, yes." He says looking evenly at you. No further traps are triggered and the door closes behind you.

"Some ponies might grow… Suspicious."
Appraise Crisp.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Crisp Evergrasp: Apparent leader of the Celestia Intelligence Agency, You aren't sure if his qualifications are purely in his orderly nature and high efficiency at managing ponies, and how much of it was earned through skill.
"I don't like ponies in my office without me here." He says plainly. "I assume this is urgent, or you would not have attempted to break in."

"The map. I lost enough time and need to strike quickly before they can retreat."

He lays out the map and marks two locations for you.
"These are the last two bases of their operation."

Ponder over the map for a moment.
"You should send your ponies here, here and here."
Point out on the map the few exits from the harsh cold valleys of Stormheart, Timberjaw and Rockeye.
"I will take care of the Mage Academy. And then, if none slip through, they will either be dead or holed up in northscrown."

"And I should do this.."

"Because you, obviously, still like our world as the green happy garden we are used to know it as."

He ponders you and the map, and then speaks.
"You truly believe the world will end if you don't kill all of these ponies?"

Give him a slight smile.
"I believe it will be a worst place if I let them live."

He stares at you for a long moment and sighs slightly. "I thought you might say something like that..
Have you spoken with Tome lately?"

"Not since I left Equestria, no."

"I think you two are a better match than us two." He says a bit absently as he looks into the distance past you.
"But you do need my help, I already helped you on this once, giving anymore is not in my favor."

Give him a flat look.
"Why are you people even here?"

"Not to wait on yours hooves if that's what you think."

"Three days I've been here, three of their outpost me and a greenhoof cleared. Alone.
What good did all your infiltration and subtle tactics do you?"

"Did you find the gate?"

"No. They did."

He narrows his eyes at you. "Where?"

"All I know is that they have been talking directly with Lilith."

"Talking to a demon doesn't mean they know where the gate is."

"Start with assuming the worst.
If nothing you will have overplanned. Still worth it."
Stand up.
"Now, I should leave. Whatever your decision is, I will make sure to complete the mission."
Leave and go to Madison.

He continues to regard you evenly.
"Happy hunting."

You find Madison, or more specifically she finds you. "Hey, you look better."

"We are moving kid. Ready to take on an army?"

Madison nods with a small smirk, "as if I'd let you do something like that alone."

Shake my head with a smirk of my own and leave.

You both head out into the snow, the skies are clear today. where are you going?

To Rockeye.

Roll #1 4 = 4

You start to head down south, and after you get about two miles away from the mountain you hear a soft whistle to your left, behind a group of trees.

Wait. Before that, nopony followed me, right?
Then, turn my attention to the trees.

Roll #1 5 = 5 / Roll #2 3 = 3

No pony you can see, but they could be hiding..
At first you don't see anything, then you go closer and you see a curious thing..
The tan unicorn known as Crisp emerges from the shadows, using telekenesis to pluck a listening device off you and Maddie and crush them before you. He then presents you with a small box and Maddie with a slightly larger box.

Look at him unfuzzled.
"Damn. Now your little cabin boy won't be able to hear the battle."

He smiles at you slightly. "Despite appearances, I do care."

"What's in the box, Crisp?"

"Officially nothing." He opens it for you. Its two crystals, one decorated with an eye, and one decorated with a phoenix. He magically lifts up the one with the eye. "Talk to me." Then he magically lifts up the one with the phoenix "Talk to Tome." Then sets them both down in the box and again. "They only work when both sides are holding theirs, and will get warm when the other party picks theirs up."
"Maddison's is just a suit." He adds and waits for you to accept the box.

Snicker and pick up the box.
"She did need a new suit."

You pocket the box, Maddie smiles slightly and opens her box holding up the stealth suit, before trying it on, it seems effective enough, she looks almost professional in it.
Crisp nods at you both and turns to leave. "I'll do what I can for you."

"Don't worry too much."
Smirk and move on to my destination.

You move toward rockeye, the snow getting less and less as you move further south, the land changing to hills. The old academy stands intact, mostly, and the spot with the x isn't too far from that.

"We should thread carefully."
Lie low, belly on the snow.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Madison nods and follows your lead, you believe you are well enough hidden for someone who is untrained. "How many do you think there will be?"

"Two.. Three times what we saw earlier."

She nods slowly.
"More traps too?"

"Depends on how long they have had this position for… Try not to fall on the spikes though."
Move closer and keep an eye out.

Roll #1 10 = 10

You move closer to the area marked by the X, there is already a small stone building here, a dozen ponies are milling about, 7 look like casters, the other 5 look like guards.

Appraise them.
"Ready to start? We are not going in silently."

Roll #1 8 = 8

"Right or left?" She asks you with a smirk.
3 healers: 5/3
4 dark artists: 5/4
5 guards melee and ranged: 5/5

"Deal with the healers."
Point at them.
Approach behind the dark artists.
Sentry Sharpen.

You sneak behind the of group casters, hiding near the building while rubbing your blades against each other. They seems a little cold despite their fluffy hooded robes with the runes embroidered on the trimming. By now you can identify their rankings, these guys are all pretty low ranking except for one, a green earth pony stallion with a strange blue tattoo on his face.
Madison sneaks behind one of the healers you indicated and attempts to stab him. '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

The guard next to the healer pulls him back before the blade can make contact. The guard draws a reddish pistol and aims it towards Madison.
"Not today." He says simply.

Come out of stealth.
Jump atop that guard.
Backstab, bring him death from above!

Roll #1 8 + 3 = 11

With a darting glaring and a swift strike from above, you bring your blades down on the guard making him drop his weapon as he falls down in into the snow.
Not wasting any time Maddie goes for the healer again.

Then, rise again, slicing the two healers at once.
Hot Irons!

Roll #1 1 + 1 = 2

Roll #1 6 = 6

She doesn't see your smirk, because of your mask, you quickly fly from one end of the area to the other, cutting each of the healers once. maddie tries the goblin sword on one of them.

Finishing him off as he falls to the ground.

Maddie: 5/6
Pumpkin: 5/5

1 healer: 0/2
4 dark artists: 5/4
4 guards melee and ranged: 5/5
1 undead dog: 7/1

1 healer: 0/0

Now, rear back and be ready to fight properly.
Throw myself towards the dark artists, Hot Irons the four of them!

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10

You dive past the barrage of spells to get to the casters, knocking them all to the ground with a sweeping slash of your blades, their legs seem heavily injured. The guards turn towards you shouting something, but its as if they are speaking in slow motion.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Meanwhile, Maddison goes to finish off the the last healer, only to find one of the more ambitious guards charge at her and knock her into the snow. They help up their healer.

Maddie: 0/5
Pumpkin: 5/5

1 healer: 5/2
4 dark artists: 0/3
4 guards melee and ranged: 5/5
1 undead dog: 7/1

Calmly, slide over to her.
"Leave the healer alive."
Backstab it again.

Roll #1 1 + 3 = 4

>Backstab it
what is it?

The healer.

"Right." She replies smoothly as she rolls over and gets back to her hooves.
The You go for the healer but nearby guard draw a gun and shoots you with a blast of a hot fiery ball. Its a bit bigger than you expected and you get knocked down from the blast. The healer seems scared at your statement but goes to go help the fallen mages.

Roll #1 4, 9 = 13

Approaching the dark artist squarely, he attempts to lock eyes with you guessing a little to low about where your eyes actually are. He commands the undead to attack you and blasts you with his own bolt of magic, but this does not stop you and you leave a small cut on his chest.
Maddie finishes off that guard but one of the others slices her with a sword and she falls down.

Roll #1 7 = 7

You toss a smoke pellet toward the guards and jump into the air leaving the guards confused as you attack the same on that shot at you before pinning him down with the force of you blade.

Backstab mr. fuckface.

Roll #1 2 + 3 = 5

Stare him down.

Roll #1 10 = 10

You stand back up and stare down the smug bastard, "You think you can handle more? You look a little tired there buddy."
Just then maddison slices at him with the goblin blade, electricity sparking from it, the guard collapses twitching as the electricity pluses through him.
"finally" she whispers to the sword.

Maddie: 6/3

1 healer -sleep- : 0/1
1 dark artist: 0/3 -missing a leg
3 dark artists: 0/3

"Good work."
Exhale in relief.
"Now let's make sure they don't wake up."
Get to work on them all. Except the healer.
Do I have to roll for this?

Together you stab each of them in the heart, silencing their protests and futile efforts to survive, leaving only the healer alive, who seems to be waking up.
"Yea, they were tougher than they looked."
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell

Here in the snow, outside of a small stone building, two assassins stand side by side, both seem youthful, in the prime of their lives even, one is a male pegasus, and one is female earth pony. The pegasus appears to be in charge, perhaps ironically calling the mare kid..
Here among the scattered dead bodies of their enemies, my allies, the pair rest a moment.. Most disturbing to me is that before I passed out, I heard them saying that they wanted me alive.. but for what purpose? There was a higher ranking member with us.. So probably not information.. I wonder if they noticed me I'm awake yet..

One the ground the red and green pegasus stallion healer has opened his eyes and is staring at you and Madison with a curious and slightly fearful expression.

Nod to Madison and trot towards the healer.
He's not bleeding out, is he?

He seems stable, at least the cuts have scabbed over now and aren't leaking blood everywhere.
He blinks at you not moving at all, as if waiting for you to speak.

MT to see if he has anything he could commit suicide with.
"I won't torture you, if this is what you fear.
Or kill you. If you obey."

Roll #1 4 = 4

"…Okay.." He watches timidly as you carefully search him and take away anything that looks even a little dangerous, that little letter opener of a knife, that vial of unknown substance, that little notebook that he could maybe write in, and that very sharp edged crystal. You leave him with his catalyst, a small rat talisman.

"Heal us."
Stare him down.

He nods slowly and shakily stands up reaching a hoof towards you, a soft light emits from him resonating from his talisman and bouncing toward you, the familiar feeling of healing magic washing over you, after several minutes of this, you feel stronger, its easier to breath, your burns and cuts begin to disappear.

"Now, her."
Point towards Madison.

He repeats the process toward Madison, the soft light hitting her, she stands up a little taller once the stallion finishes, he looks back at you uneasily.
"..what now?"

"Now, you wait and don't make a sound.
If at the end of the day we are still alive, you will be free.
Would be a shame if your old pals learnt how you helped us."

He looks hopelessly depressed at the idea and pushes his hoof against the snow.
"..Oh.. I see.." He slowly looks up past you toward the skies letting his wings get pushed open slightly by the wind.
He then brings his eyes back to you, and Madison who is at your side looking suspiciously at him. Glancing at the bodies and the building he gives a solemn nod. "Fair enough.."

To Maddie.
"Led him somewhere safe and tie him up."

"On it." Maddie prods him slightly so he doesn't drag his hooves about it and then walks with him out of sight, to an empty building you passed on the way over here.

In the meanwhile, oversight the terrain.
I need to carefully plan my attacks.

Roll #1 8 = 8

The hilly terrain here could make for a way to break up large groups, the scattered buildings would make decent hiding spots, of course, they might already be hiding there on their way south. And you can spot the outline of a castle in the distance.

I should care to trap the most dangerous places with explosive runes.
And inspect said castle.

You scatter a few explosive runes onto the entrances to larger buildings you pass and make your way to the castle. This is where the bulk of the ponies seem to be gathering, there is dangerous looking mote, a draw bridge, roaming guards on the inside, a few pegasi floating by, and the castle itself is decently sized, two towers spiraling up on the north and south side.

Damn. Hide and appraise the lot of them. How many ponies exactly?

Roll #1 2, 3 = 5

You hide against the wall and try to count the ponies, but before you can get a handle on even just the fliers, one of them swoops down near you to rest and spots you.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" He shouts at you and draws a weapon.
Madison has caught up to you and remains unseen so far.

Vanish. Sentried Backstab him.

You flip behind him and stab him before he can say another word and bring him down to the grassy hills. He seems panicked to get away from you.
1 guard: helpless/??

Knock him out cold with the butt of my sword and drag him away, in hiding.

Roll #1 9 = 9

+1 from CE.

no. sentry vanish crits don't activate it.
You knock him out and pull him out of the way buying yourself more time to make a plan.

Now, check their numbers.

Roll #1 9 = 9

You estimate 25 moving about on patrol outside. They move in groups of 5, having one dedicated caster, two ranged attackers, and two melee attackers. most of them are 5/5

Interesting. Hide and follow one of those patrols.

'1d10' Stealth roll.

Roll #1 3 = 3

You stealthily fly in past the gate and pick one of the groups to follow, the seem to be going back and forth between the north or south tower. "Hey, careful, they are right above you." Maddie whispers.

Stop dead and hide in the snow.

Roll #1 3 = 3

File: 1385489642168.png (8.91 KB, 603x477, CastleOutside_1.png) ImgOps Google

You roll forward toward a pile of snow just a little too slowly. The patrol descends around you surrounding you, they draw their weapons on you, two with swords and shields, two with pistols, and one appears to be getting read to cast a spell.
"I don't suppose you want to come quietly?" The caster asks as he examines you.
One of the melee guards scoffs at that. Maddie lurks nearby watching you.

2 melee pegasus
2 ranged pegasus
1 caster pegasus

Don't even waste time to smirk.
With my wings, whip up a whirlwing of snow to Vanish into, and descend upon them silent. Deadly.
Sentried Hot Irons.

Vanishing into a powdery whirlwind you move between them all slicing with your twin blades and making them fall onto the ground in, they look around quickly trying to get a lock on you and find you hoovering above them.

Come down hard on the caster, backstab him.

Roll #1 9 + 2 = 11

With a swift diving motion you bring your blades down on the caster. He closes his eyes at the last moment as you pierce his heart.
Meanwhile, the two melee guards have made it to their hooves.

2 melee pegasus : ???
2 ranged pegasus: 0/??
1 caster pegasus

There's still some for each of them.
Hot Irons everyone.

Roll #1 8 + 1 = 9

The melee fighters see you coming this time and do their best to block you, but your blades are a bit stronger then their defenses and you break through cutting through their armor and leaving a decent wound on both of them as they fall back down, the two ranged attackers have little chance to react before you are on them, slicing their necks.
2 melee pegasus : 0/???
2 ranged pegasus: 0/??
1 caster pegasus

Jump and Backstab one of them.
That was a crit, right?

Roll #1 4 + 3 = 7

they ded
You do a quick jump and flip to get behind one of them and finish him quickly while the last one struggles to his feet, raising his sword toward you.
1 melee pegasus : ???

Raise mine too.
Appraise him.

Roll #1 7, 10 = 17

He dashes toward you while you are sharpening your blades, from the way he fights you guess that he has some training in stances, his movements are a bit different than the others, and you note his blood is a bit darker than theirs. He clips you on the side with one of his many fast attacks.

Pumpkin: 4/5

Samuri: 6/4

you feel shimmering inside of you at the thought of a challenge

No sense asking him to stand down. just after he charges me, Vanish from his sight, trailing behind him.

Roll #1 9 + 4 = 13

he probably thinks the same about you
Regardless you toss a smoke pellet down and move behind him cutting into his stomach with a strong and sure strike. He stumbles forward in pain and looks back at you.

Pumpkin: 4/5

Samurai: 0/2

Point a sword at his throat, ready to slice at the minimum sign of sudden movement.
'1d10+1' to keep good of that.
"Your blood. Are you a host?"

Roll #1 9 + 1 = 10

He stares at your blade uncomfortably. "Yes.. A pretty bad one from the looks of things.."

Pumpkin: 4/5

Samurai: 0/2

Slice him down.
Should I roll Backstab or can I use that 10?

roll again, just for fun, you have a CE+1

So… The only thing that could mess this is a critfail and a fail one after the other.

Roll #1 8 + 4 = 12

Yes, so?
You slice his head off and watch his body carefully, he doesn't move..

Appraise just to be sure as I clean my swords.

Roll #1 10 = 10

You watch him as you wipe your blades clean and seeing nothing you almost leave, you even step away, but then you notice a slow thumping of his heart, his body seems to be warming the area around him.

Oh no.
Not a second time.
From now on, new policy.
Slice their hearts out.
'2d10'+2 each.

Roll #1 9, 2 = 11

File: 1385502308403.png (5.58 KB, 369x477, Over head view_01.png) ImgOps Google

You carefully cut out the heart and slice it in half.
Close one.
You could go up to the south tower they were headed to now.

Slide back into the shadows and the snow.

Roll #1 1 = 1

Roll #1 3 = 3

Maddie gives you an odd look from the shadows as you try to hide in the water. It certainly is warm in this mote.. roll again.

Even assassins need to piss!

Roll #1 2 = 2

Pumpkin plz, try to focus on the dangerous looking fish that swimming towards you.

Water is no place to hide in.
Jump straight out!

Roll #1 6 = 6

Maddie is trying her best not to laugh at you as you jump out soaking wet.

This could be dangerous. Wet in the snow is never good.
How many ponies are left by my earlier calculations?

File: 1385503168370.png (7.53 KB, 369x477, Over head view_01.png) ImgOps Google

20 fliers, in four groups and lucky for you this is rockeye, and its spring, so there is less snow than usual.
This is your best guess as to where they are.

"So.. what's the plan?" Maddie whispers guiding you to a hidden place against the wall.

"We take them out. Group by group.
Let's climb the northern tower first.
Find a window and go all the way in.

Now with a roll.

"Alright." Maddie watches you attempt to take off effectively soaking her with water as you dry off your wings and groans softly flicking most of the water off her onto the ground before climbing up the tower, and scoffing as you then soar past her to arrive just inside the window first. There are 4 ranged fighters, 4 casters, and two melee, they seem to be resting.

Smile to myself.
Then look around at the room.

Roll #1 9 = 9

There are stairs, benches, a small table with snacks on it, The guards chat with each other.
"So, are you going further south?"
"Yea, Something's not right up here anymore, with ponies winding up dead like that."
"You think its a… spy?!" one of the ranged attackers comments dramatically.
"Well, if anyone is a spy its not you, moron."

You see a few locked boxes behind them.

Stick to the roof and ready an explosive rune. Place it atop the ceiling.
Then slide above the two lone enemies on the right.

Roll #1 6 = 6

Abusing your wings you silently stick an explosive rune to the ceiling, then sneaking over to the two standing off to the side. Maddie circles around near the boxes
"Yea, well at least I'm good with the mares, unlike you, who seriously tried that demon line"
the room bursts into laughter.
"Yea, it almost worked."
"no, it really didn't."

Sentry Sharpen.

You sharpen your blades looking down on the pair of guards, a couple of them stand up and stretch moving about the room.
"Yea, I'm going to head downstairs and see how the gate room guys are doing."
"I'll go with you, its not safe to go alone."
"I'm not alone, not really."
"Bragging won't deter me."
"Ha, alright then."
A caster and a ranged attacker leave down the stairs.

Jump down.
Slice the three casters and the three ranged fighters.

Roll #1 3 + 1 = 4

Roll #1 4 = 4

Roll #1 6 = 6
