A quick recap:
You've been transformed into seaponies for the duration of three days. You've had quite the busy first day, you arranged a peace talk between the shark ponies and the sea ponies, uncovered a plot to spoil the peace talks by spiking their dinner with cursed blood to induce a blood rage. You now have captured the seapony spiking the food red-finned.

Other things: As you were exploring you also picked up a new member; agreed to investigate a gang of bandits that follow a mobster lobster and hang out in some kind of cave system; you discovered an island full of dragons, which is being suppressed and controlled by some kind of undying dragon with a means of commanding the others, you rescued 8 of the eggs total, 7 land dragon eggs and 1 sea serpent egg (accompanied by a baby sea serpent).

Current: Its getting close to time for the dinner, you've got a captive to interrogate and might want to tell Prince Daniel something.

"We should take him to the prince! This is proof that the Queen's up to no good!"

"It might be a too much to dump all of this on him, though. Should we come up with a plan on how to deal with all these things? He might have a breakdown, for all we know."

"Well… I guess we did stop him in time before he drugged all the food, but…"
I'll look around the kitchen.
"There's no way the chefs can replace the tainted food in time!"

"Cooking is just three dimensional art that is edible, give me some instructions on what we can make and I can have my doppelganger help us try to get caught up. You can have the Heroes help you with the main negotiation."

The captive smirks at you. "So you agree that the prince is too weak."

I'll nod.
"I'm pretty sure the chefs will be able to help you out there."
I'll swim up so I can look down on him.
"The queen's the one who's weak! Look at you, skulking about, poisoning food! Don't you know making peace is a whole lot harder than making war?"

"He's got a point. You were the one who went out to weaken the paws, I mean fins, of others. That doesn't reflect well on you or your employer."

He shrugs looking smugly at Rhodan "You didn't seem all that weak to me, Sharkblood."

I frown.
"You. Shut up. Don't say anything unless we ask you something!"

Give him a big, toothy smile.

"Sharklood. Sharkblood… I like how that sounds. It's got a nice vibe to it."

I'll swim up near you.
"I think he meant it as an insult, though…"

He rolls his eyes "Fine by me, talking to you lot is about as entertaining as watching guppies swim by."
"You would like that."
I like that, it sounds tough, we should be tough.

"Really? I've heard others call great wizards dragonblooded, so I thought of it along those lines. It just sounds so alive."

I'll shake my head.
"Down here, getting called a sharkblood means that you're a brute, or stupid, or just plain violent. It's not something you say to ponies you want to be on good terms with."

I shove my hammer to his chest.
"Quite gutsy this one is. I wonder if the Prince will lock him up for good or if he'd have something more extreme in store for you…"
dumb post

He stares unflinching at you. "Was that a question?"

"That's what it means!"

"You jerk, you take it back."

And I was there, too

I ignore his insult.
"So the queen sent you? Do you know why she did that?"

"Just thinking aloud. As for a question… why? Why do you think the prince is too weak?"

To make things more clear for those trickling in: you have dragged the queen's guard: your captive: over to another room. The cooks are still in the kitchen cleaning up the mess and prepping new food, and Prince Daniel is presumably waiting back at his throne room.

He looks at you as if you've lost your mind "Why should I Sharkblood? Does it make you angry, are you going to attack me?"
"Of course I know why I was sent, what fool doesn't know his own mission?"

"So the queen sent you to drug the food to sabotage the peace talks? Why? What could she possibly gain from that, other than the small chance the prince would die?"

"Tell us why she did that then!"

"Maybe I should stoop to your level and poison your food from afar? Like I'd have the stomach for that, I'm not some attack dog that carries out orders without thinking of the consequences for others."

"What are we arguing with him for? Let's just give him to the guards and go beat up that queen for being a wargobbler and stuff."

"We'll need to talk to the Prince first and convince him to let us do that second. We can't just go breaking in all the doors."

"Clearly he doesn't think we can hold the land, or he wouldn't be having these talks. Not at this time." he now seems a little uncomfortable with your hammer and stares at it.
"Her reasons are to better the seapony colony."
"As if you could even pull off such a mission."
"The sharks are the warbringers, its one thing that never changes no matter the age."

"Have you got like a muscle problem? I think I can take down a door even as a silly fish."

"And starting a war with the sharks that are left is supposed to be better than working together? How in the wide deep sea does that make any sort of sense?"

"Better it how? How does breaking down peace talks 'better the colony?'"

"We're the ones who gave him the idea of talking to the sharkponies, and that was only after we fought some. They've resorted to robbing others of their food because they have no land to hunt on."

I nod
"That might be a good idea at this point"

"I can't believe you trust those.. creatures.." he scoffs and closes his eyes.

"You are the ones with experience in these types of things. If you believe this is for the best, than my doppelganger and I will be there for you."

"They're not 'creatures!' They're the same as you and me!"
I prod him in the chest and frown.

"And I can't believe our queen is such a… such a…"
I'll take a small breath.
"A back-stabbing bottom-feeder!"

"If no one else has any objections, I'm ready to bring him to the prince. As much as I'd like to go straight to the queen, this one needs to be locked up somewhere."

I nod vigorously.

I'll nod too.

I'll nod agreeingly.

"Prince Daniel, we have somepony you should see."

"Somefish? Somefishy?"

Slip back into the shadows just in case.

Roll #1 1 + 2 = 3

You drag him off to the throne room, and Daniel's two lobster guards seem to be on alert and examine the prisoner.
Daniel looks surprised "What.. this is Cloephin's guard isn't it?" He frowns "What happened Swiftfins?"
"What happened is that I was caught doing my job."
"Which was.."
"Showing you how unstable your new friends really are."
Daniel sighs and looks to you "Well, he's not the talkative type I take it?"
you swim around in a circle looking for a good place to hide and a lobster guard tabs you on the shoulder "What are you doing? Is.. blood in that bag?"

"I dunno, he seems to talk a lot. We're gonna go fight your Queen and restore piece to this… water."

"peace," rather

"He was drugging the food! The guest we brought along to make sure everything was fine was effected, and he almost attacked us! When we tried to stop him from drugging the food, the Queen's guard attacked us."

"He was trying to stuff the food with blood so the sharks go crazy! And when we tried to stop him, he attacked us all!"

"We caught him putting something extra in the food. He was lacing it with blood."

"And I'm firstpaw proof that it was blood. It even affected me."

Daniel nods slowly "I'll have him locked away, and a guard watching over the kitchen."
he nods to the bag noxx has "I guess that's the blood? We'll keep it as evidence."
the captive is taken away.
He looks taken back "You want to do what?"

"Well the Queen's behind it all, right? So let's go take her down. This is a pretty easy mystery to solve."

>taken away

"No, keep him with us, they could hide him. "

I'll look a little concerned as well.
"I don't think fighting her is a good idea. Then it'll just look like a coup d'etat."
I'll look a little curiously at you, since this is the first time you talked.

I frown
"He was doing it under the orders of your Queen. She plans to sabotage the peace talks with the shark ponies."

"Maybe we can just keep the key, instead?"

"You want to watch over him personally?" Daniel shakes his head, "You've done more than enough already, he'll be secure in the dungeon, but if you like you can follow the guard to his cell."
Daniel looks deeply disturbed by this truth "Well.. it does add up, I just didn't want to believe it. I'll go confront her about it.."

"She'll just try to kill you or something, right? C'mon just let us go fight her!"

"We should come too! I mean, if she's willing to go this far to ruin the peace talks, what if she's got some sort of spell or a trapdoor or something?"

"The kid has a point. She might try something drastic if we confront her while you're present."

"It would be better to have somefish reliable at side.. If you're up for it I'll have you at my side." He smiles at you all.

I'll smile widely.
"We won't let you down!"

Give him a paw/fin thums up.

"Of course."

I smile back at him.
"We'll be right there by your side!"

"Well… alright. If you say so."

"I'll be here."

Stealth up.

Roll #1 9 + 2 = 11

He picks up a long spear, the tip glowing with a yellow spark, and swims up toward up the stairs to the fancy door belonging to Cloephin. It is unguarded and Daniel pushes it in easily. "Hello, Auntie. We need to have a word"

You are a but a shadow among many. None could pick you out for certain.
I will be here as well, waiting to strike. Surely she doesn't deserve your usual mercy Rhodan?

maybe we should wait for the others, perhaps do this friday?

That would be fine.

I'll swim about where she used to be.
"Who is that, anyway?"
I'm fine waiting for the meat of the party to get here.

>no campfire
Right. I'm cool with waiting

Steam sucks.

Reposting here too many people will be absent so I'll have to postpone until next week. Sorry.

The white light from the queen's horn set the room a glow. "Welcome dearest nephew, how goes the preparation for the meeting with those be- I mean Sharkponies?"
Daniel's own eyes lower "You know exactly how it is going Aunt Cloephin."
"Yes, your guard was caught red-finned trying to sabotage the meal."
"Well, that is a problem.. I guess there's no point in playing the foolish old woman anymore." she smirks and sings the notes of a song, apparently it was some kind of signal as serval ponies emerge from the shadows to swim at her side "There are my followers, the Dark Echo I call them, we wanted to take over properly, but this will have to do.. Shame that that shark envoy went insane killed you.."
Spirit staggers backwards "What?! But I!"
Queen Cloephin "Yes, its even more of a shame that I wasn't able to save the city's favorite prince… Oh well, at least I can get revenge.."
Prince Daniel falls down in pain as a seapony dressed in all black appears beside him. "You traitor!"

you may roll your actions, the queen and 6 guards are present. Ebony is available to heal.

Oh, and Spirit is available for this fight as well, but will hang back until you ask him to step in.

you bump your head on the ceiling.

"Give up yet, traitor?"

"Give up! You can't beat us!"

I stand up, then help Arioso up, nuzzling her as I do.

"It's over. Your backstabbing plan failed."
Turn to Prince Daniel and help him up.
"Are you okay?"

"Please give up, for everyone's sake."

I'll perk up.
"Oh, right! Prince Daniel!"
I'll swim over.
"Are you okay?"

she scowls at you "I see you are an overwhelming force indeed." she drops her daggers, all dozen or so of them, and they float away from her. "So, then.. will you kill me now?"
He is swimming a little more with his left side than normal, further inspection leads you to see that his right side was heavily damaged particularly the tail fin which was sliced off on the right. "I'm much better now that she's not a threat."

doppel seems disappointed at your command by stays by your side.

Oh geez, that's terrible. Try and Heal as much as I can. '1d10+1'

Roll #1 2 + 1 = 3

"No. We're going to send you straight to jail, where you belong you witch!"

"We're not killers."
Look around at some of the bodies.
"At least most of us aren't."

I just shrug. We won, let's swim off with that.

"No. Tell us why you decided to do this."

they aren't very long dead. indeed most of them can still be healed if action is taken swiftly

I wince at his wounds.
"You're hurt pretty bad… Ebony, could you help the Prince with his wounds please?"

"…and the rest of these seaponies we just er… fought."

Who was doing most of the killing?

"Thank you, that assassin of hers was brutal."
Ebony does her best, aided by alecrus and the worst of his wounds seal up, but that tail fin will take time or stronger magic to fix.
I wasn't exactly keeping track of that
she heals them up once she's done what she can for the prince, they are going to be out for a while.
"Because my plan was discovered, and I had little choice but to fight for my right to rule."

"Doppelganger and I can hold down the Queen, can anyone who knows healing magic or first aid help those guards? They were just following orders, no need to be brutal to them afterwards."

I narrow my eyes.
"Where did you get the idea to call your guards the Dark Echo?"

"But you might have mobilized the Sharks and put all the seaponies at risk if they decided to attack."

"You had no right[i][/i] to sabotage peace talks! How many seaponies do you think would die if the sharks [i]really wanted to get us? They'd find a way past the lightning!"

"You're just… you're pure evil! You shouldn't rule over even the tiniest of… coral!"

"I think what Odette means is, why all the warmongling?"

"Thank you, Ebony."
Turn to Cleophin and scowl
"Anypony with murderous intentions like that shouldn't be in charge of anything."

I pat him on the head

"Mongering, Cloud. It's warmongering. That is a good question though."

she closes her eyes "From the fact that my line's been cast into the shadow, we are an echo of the past seeking to bring ourselves to light, and we are everywhere."
"Those beasts couldn't find their way past an open gate without help, much less our expert magi. Still, wouldn't it be nice to be rid of them all? To never worry about what their next 'leader' might want?"
"There are still those who would follow me. Who believe I am the rightful queen and that I am far more wise than Daniel, why should I not make my move?"

Daniel just shakes his head "What you've done here is just murder, and you know as well as anyone that the punishment is death."

I'll just frown at her. Hard.
"That sounds like somepony who doesn't want to deal with the responsibilities of maintaining a good relationship with others and just wants to play queen all day and wear pretty dresses."

"…just so you could get your throne back? Wow, you really do suck."

"Oh. I thought it was something else."
I wipe by brow. I look at Daniel and shake my head.
"Executing her only makes her a martyr. Lot's of actors and actresses I've met say martyrs help their side more once they die in all the plays they preform. Lock her away instead."

"Nothing is impenetrable. They would have kept trying until they found a way, and all because you wanted to a title instead of taking care of your ponies."

"Death?" I shake my head
"Please no! We just stopped her from causing a massacre. Why not something.. less severe? Something that doesn't stoop to her level."

"Death?… do we really have to… she should rot in jail anyways! It'd be more painful for her!"

"They should tell her to leave and never come back."

I shake my head.
"That would be as good as killing her. Look at her, she's old and fat and probably never had to do anything for herself. She'd be eaten by a whale or something have five minutes."

"I was thinking more along the lines of prison. Less risk of her gathering an army to come back with from there."

"Or that."

I'll shake my head as well.
"Exile never works in the books. It just gives the villain time to gather their strength and attack in even stronger numbers…"

"Exactly. She can't do much behind bars in a dungeon."

"But, that is simply our law. She is a murderer, and a traitor, what compelling reason is there to spare her life?"
"I guess I could jail her, that would at least draw out anymore of these Dark Echos she claims to have everywhere."

Cloephin looks a little sad at this "You know.. after your parents died, I hunted down as many sharks as I could to get revenge, I sent many seaponies out there to find the one responsible but never got a confirmation that the culprit was dead. A shark with a scar on the side from where your father wounded him…. I thought you were being foolish, too soft.. when you decided to do this, and I wanted to protect you nephew.."
"Please, enough lies. I bet you never found the shark responsible because he didn't exist."
"Don't talk to me right now." he says turning his back to cleo and leaning on Ebony for support.
"Um.. maybe we should get you to your room your highness?" she timidly suggests

"I can help, too!"
I'll swim up along the other side of the prince.

Did I miss the murdering?
"Cloud and I are going to escort the ex-queen to dungeon with some guards."

"Doppelganger and I can take care of the injured guards and move them out too. They are in no condition to fight."

I'll swim up besides the Prince.
"Prince?… Are you alright?"

I put a hoof on his shoulder.
"I understand if you're upset. Do you need a minute?"

"Ebony, can't you heal the prince?"

as of now they are barely alive and won't wake up until tomorrow.
"As you wish" he says mocking a bow and begins to move the guards.
"Ah, I will be okay.. My trust is the thing that hurts the most." together ebony, alecrus and arioso escort the prince to his bed to recover. "I just can't believe this.."
"I-I can't regrow limbs I'm sorry if that's not good enough.." she looks distressed. "I've already done what I can.."
Daniel gives you a seal "this will get you into where you need." you and cloudcaller take her to the dungeon, the guards helping you after you show the seal. They also open up a cell for the queen's dark echo guards.

I'll sink a little.
"There was no way you could have known. That old anglerfish probably had everyone fooled…"

"Watch them close. She says there are traitors that will help he escape and kill the prince."

I look at Cloud.
"What do you think, Cloud? Was that enough action for you?"

>no Allegro
Andy pls

"So… what are you going to do now?"

"Well… it was pretty exciting, but I've seen excitinger."

Follow the Prince
"Sorry… there's no easy fix to stop the hurt over a betrayal like that. Take your time, but remember, your people need you to stay strong for them."

I smirk.
"Well, it was only a traitor queen trying to kill her nephew and commit genocide. The hole Nightmare thing was a lot worse."
I give you a hug.
"You did good, Cloud. Do you still have enough of those sleep arrows? I bet the crystal seapony can make you mare if you are running out. Maybe she can enchant my knife too."

How many of those sleep arrows do I have left? I have the trick shot, too, but I mean the ones I use with the marksman shot.

"Yeah, that might be a good idea."

I hug her back.

He was not exactly helping him be moved, but yes he is in the same room.
"I should have her killed.. but for now I'm going to rest and then go to that dinner. She can wait until the morning."
"Yeah, but still… to think she's been planning this for tide knows how long.."
"You're right of course. I'm sure my people will rally behind me against any more of these dark echos."
they nod "We expect that Daniel will execute them soon enough anyway. Does he require his medic?"

"I think he might. Do you know where we can find the crystal seapony right now?"

"But now she's been exposed! No one who's loyal will take her side."

one of the guards hurries away to get the medic "Probably in her lab working on something or another, do you think she was involved, do you need assistance?"
"I appreciate that Alecrus, having loyal ponies like you in my city means the world to me."

"So, what's the plan for the rest of us? The Seaponies and Sharks can get their meeting going, what will we do?"

Hey could I get an answer on this?

Okay. '4d5' is how many you have left.

Roll #1 2, 3, 3, 5 = 13

I nod and leave him to rest

I'll smile at that, and rub the back of my neck.
"Well, gosh."

I'll nod and join Allegro.

"I hope he'll be okay…"

"I've got thirteen left. Yeah, we should probably try to get more

he smiles and his old medic floats in and talks to ebony
"Um, I healed him, but he's lost a fin, I'm sorry."
"Ah, don't worry lass I've versed myself in healing, I can cast a powerful enough spell to regrow this."

"Yes, I'll see too it that you're properly rewarded once the dinner is over, you will be attending, won't you Alecrus?"

"Thanks, but we're fine."

I pinch your fishy butt before breaking the hug and swimming off to her laboratory.

"You mean I can? I mean, I didn't even know about it until today, and I don't have anything prepared, and and my books and…"
I'll take a deep breath, and then smile.
"Yes. I just need to find something good to wear. This robe serviceable for work, but it's not nearly fancy enough for a royal dinner party."

He smiles and waves at his own closet "Pick out something nice then, we're close enough in size."

"I'm sure he will be, eventually. And what about you, love? I hope you weren't hurt bad."
I nuzzle her and check her over

"Not as bad as the Prince… are you hurt, love?"
I return the nuzzle and check him over.

you begin going there, your memory of the place a bit absent since I recall you went to gather the sharks instead of meeting Diamond, but the others told you about her so it won't be that hard to find.

I try to find her.

Roll #1 10 = 10

I'll shake my head and hold out my hooves.
"Oh no no no no, I couldn't! I couldn't possibly! What if I spill something on them, or or…"
I'll look a little longingly at the closet for a brief moment.
"Are you… are you sure it isn't a problem?"

I smile at her looking me over
"No pain can hurt me as bad as seeing you hurt like you were. As long as you're unharmed, I'm fine my love."
I pull her into a kiss

"Please, its the least I can offer you since you helped save my life. If you prefer you have an official mage uniform, or we can something tailored, but time is short so it would be better to pick something already sewn together."
the closet is full of various fancy outfits, the colors and patterns are many.
you locate her workshop, a large shell shaped structure with a crystal door.

I eagerly return the kiss with enthusiasm.

I knock then go inside.
"Hello? Are you here?"

"No, no, my own robes are serviceable. But I thank you for your graciousness."
And I'll swim over to the closet. Do I find anything that goes well with my scales of many hues? '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

"Leave me alone! I've already seen enough guests today"

Oh, let's go and check on the Shark that came with us. We shouldn't leave him alone with all the Seaponies.

"It's Odette and Cloudcaller. We are friends of Allegro and Arioso."

Of course you do, there is an outfit here that sparkles in a similar way to your scales it would probably enhance the effect. "To be honest my aunt picked out many of these outfits, so I'm happy to get rid of any that you find suitable." he sees you eyeing that outfit "Yes, that's something called glitterweave, supposed to be the only outfit you'll ever need, ha! I only used it once, a bit flashy for my tastes."

"Then it's okay if I take it? Use it, I mean. Not to keep. Unless you're really sure you want to get rid of it?"

"Really? Well.. I guess if you're friends with those guys.." she lets you in, she's covered in specks of crystal, and her mane is a mess. "Something I can do for ya?"
Spirit is in the hall conversing with a hermit crab "Hey Rhodan, go that mess all cleaned up I see."
"Yes, the enemy has been cleaned up" Doppel says
He nods "Consider it a gift."

I'll smile from ear to ear.
"Thank you. I'll make sure to take good care of it!"
Bowing as best a fish can, I'll swim a little ways before sheepishly turning back to the prince.
"I don't suppose there's an empty room nearby? And when might the dinner be starting?"

"Cloudcaller needs more arrows that put whatever they hit to sleep, and I need the magic done to my knife."
I show it to her.
"How did you hear about us, anyways? Everything we did was on the land."

"Yes, but in a way I'd have rather avoided. They threw themselves at us with no regard to their own lives. I know Sharks are strong, but those seaponies must still have been dangerous."

"Still, do you think we can have the Sharks and Seaponies agree to peace, even after all this?"

"You have a few hours yet, and yea you can use one of the guest rooms, they are just down the hall."
"The fishing boats brought word to us, you all were the biggest news in years." she looks at the arrow "Well, I can try. I can't say that I know this specific spell."
Spirit nods "By defeating this Cleophin in battle Daniel will only look stronger in their eyes."

Rhodan, you note your wand is glowing yellow

I'll bow a little again, and then swim off to the guest room to try this sucker on.

"Really? What did they say?"

"I don't think Prince Daniel will see it quite the same way, but he'll have to put on a brave face to work for the future of the land here."

"Oh, and if things do settle down, do you have any idea of what you'll be doing?"

"Hey, what's going on with this thing?"

Hold it up, is it doing anything else besides glow?

Its a perfect fit, it shimmers in the light as you move changing color depending on which way you view it. the front of it is quite ornate having a silvery ribbon to keep it tight.
"They said you spared the land from becoming the Nightmare's playground, that you were true heroes, and without your efforts the bat ponies would be collecting us all as slaves for their mistress."
"I don't know exactly what I would like to do. but I will most likely be asked to stay on as a translator, if not by Daniel himself then by our twin leaders Lex and Leon, I'm one of their more trusted advisers despite my rank not being that high.."

"we could find out, test it out a bit, don't you think we could use that creature for target practice?" he points at the hermit crab.
Spirit reacts defensively and picks up the little guy.

I nod my head.
"Sounds about right."

"Let me see what this thing is doing."

Let's try to channel some magic into it while aiming it a rock outside.

"Sorry about my Doppelganger, maybe all the action has been affecting me."

Apologize to Spirit and Dispel the Doppelganger. Don't want people to think I'm a crazed psychopath.

I'll be grinning like an idiot.
"By the tides, would you look at that!"
I'll swim to and fro for a moment, and then stop.
"I've gotta show Ebony!"
I'll almost reach the door before stopping.
"No, wait, what am I doing? I'm acting like some love-starved guppy fresh from the school. Calm, collected."
I'll take a few calming breaths, and then go look for the other party members. Ebony will see the robe at the dinner, and I can make an entrance! A fabulous entrance, just like in the books!

she seems to have finished working on your knife. its now lined with crystals which are of a faint purple hue. "This is the closest I could do for it, it should have a chance of knocking them out." you can have knock out as a crit effect
your attack seems charged with static electric energy perhaps a weak boost, the color changes to green.

"No, I will not return to that void." the doppel says firmly resisting your attempt to dispel him.

Spirit backs away "Well, he doesn't seem outright dangerous, at least he hasn't acted on his own?"
alright, so you stayed in the room for a time?

Not the dinner room, certainly. I mean go look for the other party members that aren't Ebony. '1d10'
Because wouldn't it just be awkward running into her in the hallway all dressed up like this?

Roll #1 5 = 5

"Thank you. Do I have to stab them with it to make it work?"

You can find either odette or rhodan, your choice.
"Smacking them should work as well."

Let's find Odette. She should be able to appreciate a good outfit, right?

"My Doppelganger has never acted on its own, Spirit."

Look at Doppelganger and try to dispel it again.

"Go back until I need you."

"That's great, thanks."

she is talking to that creepy fan girl great inventor Diamond dust.
The doppel seems more desperate to hold on to this form now "Please master.. I'm sorry I offended you, I'll be quiet now, just let me stay" you may roll to get rid of him

Spirit looks concerned but stays silent.
She nods "mind your head on the way out, I've got a crystal sting ray floating about here somewhere."
indeed her workshop is very crowded, things dangling everywhere, skulls, crystals, and some half finished things on the table.

I'll wave from the doorway.
"Hey! Hey Odie! C'mere, I wanna show you something!"

I swim over to you.
"What is it? Where did you get that flashy outfit?"

"It's what I wanted to show you! Isn't it neat? Prince Daniel said I could have it, since we saved his life an' all. It's called glitterweave! Look at how it catches the light!"
I'll excitedly swim back and forth a little.

"Doppelgangers aren't supposed to argue with their Master. Go back until I need you. I've already gotten in enough fights today."

Dispel [1d10]

Roll #1 4 = 4

"It's absolutely beautiful! I would have given most anything to have a leotard made of that back when I was just a ballerina."

"I think if you ask, you can get it tailored while we're here. It might take a few days, but Prince Daniel said that glitterweave outfits are 'the only outfit you'd ever need.'"

"A few days? I'm not sure we are going to be around for that long."

"but I just.." his form quivers and shakes slowly dissolving, his voice lingering in your mind "wanted to help.."

"Well, he said it would take that long for a full outfit… a leotard probably should take that long."
I'll nod to myself, and then look at Odette a little sideways.
"What's a leotard?"

"Try not to be so crazy about it, sheesh." I tell to no one know.

"Sorry about that Spirit, maybe there's something in the water that's affecting me? Anyways, who is this little guy?" I ask as I point to the hermit crab.

He nods "Not to worry, I've had troubles with getting some of the monsters to agree with me, and they can't exactly be dismissed like your double there." he hold out the hermit crab "I call him Red because of the red spots on his claw." the little crab has a bit of metal as his shell and pokes out cautiously waving a speckled claw at you.

"It's a tight, stretchy outfit worn by some dancers."
I roll my eyes.
"Don't tell me you guys don't have ballet here."

"I… think we do? I don't actually get out much."
I'll put my hoof to my chin and think a moment.
"Though I've never heard of the water ballet needing tight outfits, since that might cling on the fins…"
I'll ponder a little while longer.
"By some dancers, do you mean the ones up on that big floating thing, where I found you guys earlier?"

Wave back at the little guy with a clawed fin.

"Is he a pet, does he help you with your work?"

"he's more of a pet than anything, but he is good for scouting ahead, and he's pretty clever. Even been on the surface a few times, he goes up there to look for a new shell once in a while." the hermit crab nods eagerly. "I've been telling him all about our adventure so far, he's a bit of a gossip at times, not sure why or how he followed me here, I left him back in my cave while I was doing official business."

I snort.
"You can't dance naked-hmmm."
I grin devilishly and glance at Cloudcaller.
"Um, I'm sure some of their dancers do. I bet yours do to and you've never seen them because you don't get out much."

I'll nod.
"That's probably it."
I'll float in silence for a second.
"Oh, hey, yeah, I forgot! I'm invited to the dinner too!"

"I know you said you'd probably stay with the Sharks here and help, but I don't think anyone would object if you wanted to come see the Surface world with us, even if only for a bit. At least enough to see where Red here gets to."

"that's good. You were pretty useful as far as egg headed shut-ins go."

I'll grin at that.
"Yep! I even surprised myself! That was only the second actual field test of that haste spell! And the homing magic worked great, very reliable this time around. Sometimes they get confused, you know."

He ponders it for a while "You would really want me along? I'm not much of a fighter, really I mostly just tame monsters and make them fight for me. There's a reason I'm not very highly ranked in our society you know." he laughs a bit "did you see my flailing about back there? I didn't know what to do."

"Wait a second, you used magic on us that you had only tested once."
I frown.
"What if you had killed us?"

"I'm a Cartographer by trade, not a professional combatant, so you wouldn't be the only one who is a proverbial fish out of water. We are traveling to new, unknown lands to us, so someone who can really read the tablets other sharks have left behind would be helpful."

"Besides, you never know if you'll find something you like on the Surface world if you don't at least check it out once."

I'll wave a hoof.
"Nah, that wouldn't have happened. Got those kinks out during the alpha phase of the spell. Worst it can do now is make you go slower if I cast it wrong. Or make me go slower, anyway. I was testing the finished version, and I'm happy to say that it worked perfectly. The only harm it could have done was to the ones we were up against, or me. Perfectly safe otherwise."

I fold my arms/flippers/whatever.
"If you say so."

"I doubt you will find tablets just left about. Lex and Leon put up a reward for those a while back and sharks from all over cam hauling tablets for the extra meal, or the other reward." spirit frowns "I don't think I should leave the sharks at a time like this, they will need my help getting settled in, and I'll have to give lessons I'm sure."
"see, the weakling doesn't want to come." that voice says in your head

"Anyway, what have you got planned until the dinner starts? Walking around? Doing adventurey stuff?"

I shrug.
"Seeing the sights with Cloudcaller and keeping him out of trouble, I guess."

"He has something else worth fighting for, I'm not going to force him to come with us." I tell myself.

Do I say it loud enough that Spirit can hear it? [1d10]

"The offer stands, but helping your fellow sharks is a great goal. But you mentioned another offer besides meal, what was it?"

Roll #1 6 = 6

I'll nod.
"I guess I'd just be an extra, there. Maybe I should float off so you two can enjoy yourselves."
I'll think.
"Well, there's plenty of books I can read. Time to go have a crash course on dining etiquette!"
With a wave and a shimmery flash of my tailfin, I'm off to my little sanctum, piled with books about all sorts of things. Let's see if they've got one with proper dining manners. '1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

I wave goodbye.

I guess you were able to contain it.
"fine, I don't want someone that soft anyway, it will make you weaker."

he looks for how to put it delicately "well, you weren't exactly there, but.. being the king of sharks has its perks, they have the ability to protect many mares, keeping them at their home and raising strong pups, it is a privileged life as they never have to worry for food or status climbing." he blushes a bit "the other offer was a night with their brood of mares."

I mean a smirk

Try not to turn red. [1d10]

"Sorry, I shouldn't have asked. For the moment, let's try our best to help everyone and make a happier ocean for the Shark and Seaponies. I expect to hear lots of great things about you."

Roll #1 4 = 4

"oh my, Rhodan the great and powerful is embarrassed." the voice taunts you.

"I'll certainly try to keep in touch, I'm told the seagulls make it far inland, so I could send you word that way. Red here is only so fast." the hermit crab shakes his claw disapprovingly "Well, if you really want to risk going up there and delivering a message yourself.. " Red curls up into his shell. Spirit laughs.
"By the way, I have found a more permanent version of that transformation spell."

"Really, how did you manage that? Of course, I can't volunteer to try it out, I still have a job to do on the Ship."

"I was looking at my old records earlier, and I discovered something I had overlooked before. And well.. it would work both ways, a sea pony would be permanently land pony, or a land pony permanently gilled- at least until the spell was cast again effectively reserving it. "

Anything you want to do before the meeting we can do. We've captured Queen Cloe and her guards, locking them up in the dungeon, Prince Daniel lost a fin and is recovering with his personal doctor and Ebony, and some people got some items.

Is there an arena here? Maybe Cloud and I could do some team fighting before dinner?

I'm in my study looking up proper dining manners, dance motions, anything I might need for a dinner party. I don't want to embarrass the others…

Roll #1 8 = 8

Pull out the brush again.
"It changed to green, what happens now?"

Let's head off into town, and look for what the sea ponies use for art and other purposes. We'll get used to the brush by using it in our duties to map and catalog what we've found under the waves.

I'm gonna head back to crystal pony and see if I can learn some more on crystal magic.

There is an area used for training nearby. Its got training dummies and targets to shoot at. there are a few lance wielding sea-ponies training here.
You head to a book shop with a very grumpy, but surprisingly young, barely older than you, clownfish patterned sea pony. "Welcome to the sea novel emporium: Can I help you lad?"
Diamond smiles at you "Welcome back. Your friends were just here.."

You learn how to properly hold your shell-ware, how to speak properly to a noble guest, what kind of toast is acceptable when and see some instructions on how to do a fancy dance.

I think about stuff.

I grab Cloudcaller and swim over to the seaponies.
"You colts want to spar?"

"I instinctively keep my papers away from water, but this place flips that on its head." I whisper to myself.

"Hi, I'm traveling through these parts, and I was wondering if you had any maps of the area and history books. If you have any on art that you can show me, that would be nice of you. Still, I'm surprised to see a book store of all things under the sea, especially after all that I heard has happened."

Great. Let's practice that dance. '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

"Hey yeah!"

"You should use something other than a bow, though. It wouldn't be fair to them and I want to make sure my stallion knows how to use a lance."

"Hey, I was wondering if you could teach me some more on crystal magic."

"Makes sense…"

I look for a spear.

I blush a bit at the "my stallion" comment, too

And I start looking for training daggers.

a bit of sunlight shines on your head as you think.
"spar with you two?" they nod to each other "Yeah, it'll be good practice. You set up the rules."
You are faced with two guff sea pony males. they each wield a spear but there are many weapons around on racks.
"We have plenty of extras if you want. Or we can try another weapon type if you like." there is a whole rack of spears, varying lengths none are too sharp.
"Well, that's because I had to work very hard to collect these tomes." he swims over to the third shelf and pulls down a book with a cover sea ponies in fancy armor. "these will get you started on history, its mostly stories of war, but that's what our people have.." he pauses a moment as he drags down another book with a cave on the cover. he opens it up and the pages are translucent, like plastic or jelly, when he flips the page it seems to vanish. he shows you and over head view of the castle "this is where we are now."

"We fight until both sides submit and try to not hit each other in the head. that sounds good with you two?"
I pick up a pair of training daggers.

You pick up a pillow and practice the dance in front of a mirror, you do it so smoothly that you have to do a double take to makes sure its you doing that.. your glimmer-weave making you look like a star.
"Well, sure. What do you want to know?"
yes there are practice daggers here

I grab one of the shorter spears and stand near Odette.

Well, float near Odette.

"Woah. I've never seen anything like this. I'm used to paper, which could never be this translucent, or water resistant. I'm afraid of taking books like these to the surface with me in case they dry away. But I can't not take them, how much for them? I'll figure out how to safe guard them later."

Perfect! Now I'm ready. I think. Am I ready? Oh no, what if I have to dance with Ebony? What if she asks to dance? Will I be able to do it just as well? I mean, I don't want to carry some seamare's eggs just yet, but… but she's so cute, and those little ears, and oh no.
I'll flit back and forth nervously.
What if I make a fool of myself at dinner? What if I say the wrong things? What if she doesn't want to dance?
I'll sink for a moment and sit.
"Pull yourself together, Al! It's just a fancy party… with the prince-soon-to-be-king, a bunch of adventurers, and a really really pretty seamare. You can do it. This shouldn't be nearly as stressful as fighting an evil queen and saving a kingdom, right? Right!"
I'll take a few deep breaths at the door, and then swim back to the castle.

What time of day is it? And I have no sand dollars, right?

"I want to learn some more on making crystals, mainly on specific shapes like how you made that manta ray last time."

"Right, sounds good, count of three then." they smile and stand ready. their rolls '2d10'
"Well, I know the sharks use stone tablets, I have a few of those in back if you want." he shakes his head "What are you going on about, surface this, surface that? Don't you know you can't breath up there? Better stay down here lad." he rings up a price. "That's 40 sand dollars.. with a first time discount of 4 sand dollars, 36 sand dollars."
"…this is what you like to do master?"
the palace guards greet you "Welcome back, do you need assistance of any sort?"
you can have sand dollars from the prince if you want, or track down Cinder and she'll give you money. Its late afternoon.
She nods "Well, its best if its a shape you know well. I used to have a pet manta ray so I know them pretty much inside and out. Using diagrams of their body structure is also helpful. one you know what you are building you just have to focus on it and turn the crystals the way you need them. "

Roll #1 4, 2 = 6

"On the count of three."

Roll #1 8 = 8

I'll fidget my front hooves nervously.
"I… uh, I don't think so? I'm probably really early for that dinner party still, but… well, I didn't want to be late, and I don't know what to do until then…"

I'd feel bad asking for money from either. The Prince is recovering and Cinder is probably at his side worried about him…
Anyway, I give Arioso a kiss and tell her that I need to sneak off to attend to some shopping. So off to the market district! Are there lots of ponies around? '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

"It's um, for a little hideaway I have. How crazy would anyone else have to be to try and find a small cave that only makes itself reachable during certain parts of the day?"
Let's pay the sea pony and be on our way..

"This is for work and pleasure. Learning is it's own rewards, and my desire for it is what has kept both of us alive. It's how I learned magic to defend myself with. You might not even be if I wasn't so curious."

"Alright, now as for making the crystals, does that need anything to make them from, or just as long as I can cast magic I can make them anywhere?"

While some have packed up for the evening, there are still plenty of ponies selling a wide variety things. Trinkets, food, the book store, the smithy. Anything specific you want you can probably find.
The merchant rolls his eyes. "Just be careful or you'll get beached without a chance of rescue. if you ever need any more books let me know."
"As long as you can cast the spell you'll be fine It taps into the creation matrix to spawn the crystals, and spawning more precise crystals isn't that different than spawning any old crystal: fundamentally at least. It might get tiring if you're making a lot of specific crystals, like for a complex gate mechanism so be careful not to tire yourself out."
you out maneuver your partner with your shorter daggers and land a good hit. "You're pretty fast." '1d10' his roll.
Cloudcaller seems to be doing well with the other one. looks like a spear isn't that hard to use after all.

Roll #1 5 = 5

I bop him in the flank with my spear.

Roll #1 9 + 1 = 10

"To be honest, I'd be surprised if I found another book tore under the sea as good as this one."

Head towards the market if that's where we are. We should buy whatever they use for paints and see how different they are from those of the surface world.

I go to the nearest weapons shop.

"Sounds simple enough. How durable would the crystals be, or does that just vary depending on what I try to make?"

I parry his spear with one dagger and poke him with the other.

Roll #1 5 = 5

The guard shrugs. "Well, I can show you to the table if you want to wait there, Daniel will be down soon enough, he likes to be early. nice outfit by the way."
"Trust me you won't." He smiles are you swim away. you see an artsy looking booth on search, there is a pair of spotted seaponies behind the booth arguing over what color is better. There are some jars of color, they seem kind of ink like but aren't dispersing.
The dark blue smithy is available. "Hello there lad, looking for a new spear or hammer?"
you land a hard blow. "Oh, that smarts."
you match blows with you target, him blocking your strikes with the pole part of his weapon.
"They're about as hard as rocks or turtle shells." she says simply. "they chip away instead of shattering and can be endowed with an elemental spell if you know any."
are you trying to unlock something like this?
Raise Crystal: you may roll to raise a crystal minion anywhere you are.
Crystal augment: you may strengthen [current minion] by conjuring crystal armor or weapons for it

I whip the butt of the spear around and knock him hard in the chest.

"You need any help over there, Odette?"

Roll #1 9 + 1 = 10

I'll smile.
Then I'll dither a bit.
"And, if you'd be so kind? I'm not really familiar with… palaces."

I press the attack.
"No, but thanks."

Roll #1 9 = 9

"Mind if I interrupt your conversation? You seem to be arguing about a color, but is there a reason for it? Are you painting something? Sorry if I'm intruding, it's just I'm an artist and I couldn't help but listen into parts of your conversation."

I put my mace on the counter.
"Looks like I won't be needing this thing anymore. Would you be willing to buy it? It's still in quite good condition, and very sturdy… and exotic! Made in a land quite a ways away from here."
Give it a knock to show its sturdiness and smile.
Also a roll if I need it '1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

"Good, so it won't break easily then, that happens too often when I try using dead minions."
Yea, figured I could get something when I animated that manta ray that one time

you land another hard blow the sea pony seems out of breath and fumbles his weapon a bit "Okay, I give. This match is yours." he swims to the side as he waves to his partner. "Sorry partner. I'm out."
you sea pony seems to be short of breath as well and makes a last attempt to strike you. '1d10'
"Well its certainly no problem, we're all anxious about the sharks arriving. That one your group brought with you isn't so bad, a little anti social it seems. Mostly talking to his pet crab in corner." the guard guides you to the banquet hall. A long table set with many plates, shell-ware, and glasses. there are a few snacks set out for early arrivals, sea weed cakes, and a few shrimp puffs. Spirit is here and swims over to you. "Hey, you look shiny."
they blink at you "Well, I think Indigo is the best shade for this, but speckles wants pure blue."
"Pure blue is the best for this one, trust me spots!"
they show you the fan, its an unfinished decorative shell that one might put on their outfit or armor.
"Sure, I can give you.. 100 sea dollars for it."
"Right, being all bones they would fall apart. I can't wait to see you use it!" she looks excitedly at you.

Roll #1 1 = 1

"Thanks! Since I didn't have anything that would really work for a fancy dinner party thing, the prince let me have it…"
I'll idly tug at the fabric.
"It's called glimmerweave. Very durable, or so he said."
Nodding absently, I'll continue.
"Are you nervous? 'Cause I'm nervous. I've never been to one of these kinds of parties before, or any parties, really, but now I'm at this one and I'm totally lost. My books can only tell me how to do so much, right?"

I try to disarm him.

Roll #1 5 = 5

and immediately regrets it, he huffs and puts a fin up "I'm done too. You two are good."

you easily knock the weapon out of his grasp. He smile "Good match."

"It's pretty even the way it is, but an even more important question is where it's going? Do you have a certain outfit in mind that you'd like to use this with?"

"That's right! Too good!"

"See, no reasons to doubt my skills with the lance. I was All-Province with the Javelin Throw back home, you know."

"That sounds reasonable enough… I think. I'm not from around here and I honestly have no idea how much 100 sea dollars can get me, but I'll take what I can get."
I accept the money and swim outside.

There any stands or shops that sell jewelry?

"Alright, now let's see if I can try to make something."
Let's try making a crystal copy of Fenrir '1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

I shake his fin.
"Yes it was."

"The Javelin Throw? I didn't know that. You know, there's still time left. Do you want to take me, umm, take me…shopping? Stallions and mares do that together, right?"

"Y-yeah, s-sure. What sort of stuff do fish sell, anyways?

"Or buy?"

Also, do we have any money?

"I'm not even sure what mares buy."
I look around awkwardly while I try to figure out what to do, but then I smirk and raise an eyebrow.
"Are you as good at throwing your javelin as you are at catching javelins?"

"An outfit from the royal closet, that's some kind of honor right?" he looks impressed. "It certainly lives up to the name of glimmer weave."
"As far as the party.. I'm sure you will be fine, more in place than Blood Fin at least." Spirit smirks "Strong as he is he's not one for follow protocol very well. Ah, Lex and Leon will have a time explaining to him why he should even try."
Spot and Speckles glance at each other. Speckles speaks up first "Well, its to be a gift for our mother."
"Your mother"
"Right, but its still important to you."
"Well, yes. I do live with you guys now, and my name will be on the card"
"Well, spot you did help make it.. I'm not trying to steal credit from you!"
"No, just trying to steal all creative control!"
yes, there are several. the one with the lemon colored sea pony looks to be the most well stocked.
you focus your energy, twisitng the crystals as they form to be shaped like bones and produce an exact replica of your favorite minion in blue crystal. he swims in place in front of you and wags his tail.

I'll nod.
"But at least we got the real problem out of the way first, right? It would have been a disaster if the ex-queen had gotten away with her scheme. I don't even want to think about it…"

"H-hey! I only did that once… and we didn't do that!"

"Um… mares usually like clothes and stuff. We could look for that."

He returns the shake heartily. "The market has anything you need. You really put my partner and I threw the hoops back there. You going to be part of the guard here?"
you could say you asked the prince for some money, or actually go ask someone for money like Cinder or the prince? might not want to fill up too much right now.

"I think you're forgetting someone in all this. Do you know what color your mother likes? What does she normally wear that you think those colors would accent nicely?"

I go by there and give her a nod.
"Just looking for now miss."
There's bound to be stuff here that costs plenty more than what I have. She have anything along the lines of an especially beautiful pearl necklace or a ring? If so, how far above 100 sea dollars is it? '1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

I grin and swim closer.
"Really? Really? I had you down as sort of a, well, you know. Anyways. Clothes and stuff. Maybe a nice scarf I can wear after we leave."

"I, uh, well… um…"

"Yeah, a scarf might be cool…"

"Wow, looks like an exact copy and even already animated, that'll help in the future."

"Yes? Come on, tell me."
I wrap a fin around you and start swimming.
"We can buy you something too. All we need to do is figure out what sort of money is used here. Think we can get that seapony Allegro and Arioso made friends with to give us some?"

"N-not in public!"

And I swim with you to wherever.

I'm going to leave for a few minutes. I'll be back but I'll probably be calling it quits within the hour, FYI, Andy

Cloudcalleer and I try to find Alecrus.

Spirit nods "Yea, at least there is that. I've actually had one of the sea ponies go look for the regents I'd need to make an antidote, in case her follows attempt it again."
they look a little sad "Well.. I guess she likes that awful color of yellow, who knows why it clashes with all her outfits." "Yeah.. we wanted her to look nice for once."
She has the pearl things near the front and watches as you look them over. "Let me know if you need help." the prices on these are outrageously high, the cheapest is 230 sand dollars for a bracelet, and the longer the strand of pearls the more expensive it is. but its easy to see why, these are real pearls and they are the prettiest thing you've seen under the sea yet, the way the light catches them makes them shine in the most pleasant manner.
alright, night zulu
he's at the dinner table chatting with Spirit.

Diamond nearly hugs your minion but is satisfied with swimming around it. "Its.. lovely! Perfect! Just like a real surface dog!"

I clear my throat.

I'll brighten up a little.
"Well, that settles that, at least. Now if only things worked like they do in books for the rest of the evening…"
"Oh hey! Is it already time?"

"Not yet. Cloudcaller and I were wondering what you use for money around here and where we could find some."

"I'm surprised it came out this good for my first try."

I'll cock my head a little curiously.
"You don't use sand dollars? That's the common currency for seaponies."
I'll think a second.
"Oh, and when I say sand dollars I don't mean the ones that are like these," I'll hold out one of my sand dollars. "I mean it's a type of coin that we just call sand dollars. You can usually get them by selling things in the market, or just working at any place that will pay you in more than room and board."

I grin and chuckle as I see the prices.
"Lovely. Just lovely…"
I clutch my money and look at the more expensive ones.
"…Looks like I have work to do."

I swim away from the stand, sit myself on the nearest corner, and take out my violin.
Leave my case open and start playing! Inspire '1d10+2'

Roll #1 1 + 2 = 3

"Mind if I borrow your paints for a moment? Don't worry it'll be fast. First, describe your mother, what does she look like? Be fast and loose, I only need a quick idea to demonstrate on this canvas. Second, you said she liked yellow, but it clashed with her other outfits, what colors does she usually wear? For the last piece, you'll have to tell me how a sea pony carries a fan around, fashion isn't my forte, but art is."
Pull out the brush and get too drawing what they say.

"I don't have any of those and I don't have anything I'm willing to sell. Would these work?"
I fish a bit out of my bag.

"Huh, that's a weird coin…"
I'll look at it for a minute.
Andy, would bits work?

In your anxiousness to impress you hit a sour note. the store keeper looks annoyed but tries to ignore your playing.
"Its because you're so talented!" Diamond concludes firmly. "Probably the fastest student I've ever had. Well.. only student but that' just because these regular ponies don't have the aptitude to understand. I hope its helpful to you."
they describe a green and white pony, her mane a blue, and blue eyes. the green spots on her are large and splotchy. She usually wears purple, blue, and red.
bits are made of gold, which is a valuable metal. it is possible to exchange them for sand-dollars but the merchants won't really know what to do with bits exactly unless its a metal worker, jeweler or artsy type that can re-purpose the metal coin.

Cough and shake my head. Just a warmup!
Try again '1d10+2'

Roll #1 4 + 2 = 6

as for how the sea ponies hold fans, its usually as an additive to an outfit, sort of pinning it to clothes, or in their mane, or at their side.

"Well, what's it made of? If it's gold, then you might get a good price from a jeweler or metalworker."

"Awesome! Thanks!"
Cloud and I swim off to find a metalworker.

I'll sorta sink a little.
"Well, I can't blame them for wanting to enjoy the city, I guess.

She looks slightly impressed this time as you sing about flying over a mountain. "what an interesting song, where did you say you were from?"
there are enough to choose from, do you go to the smith, or one of the jewelry sellers?
Spirit is hoovering near the shrimp puffs. "Well, their loss." he seems to be trying to get his pet hermit crab to eat a seaweed cake, but the little guy is stubbornly refusing.

I'll swim over.
'So, what's your little friend's name? He looks like a Sebastian."

"Those are some pretty good choices she made."
Draw a color wheel as best we can.
"Green and Blue are pretty close together, so they are complimentary. They contrast with red and orange, here."
Use my finger/fin to make an imaginary triangle connecting them.
"Now, here's the kicker, the million bit question for you, when you think of your mother, what comes to mind? Tell me the first thing that shows up."

Jewelry. Mares are supposed to like jewelry, right?

"I'm sure it will, being able to make minions rather than finding corpses is already a big plus."

"A place called Seven Shadow's Hallow. Wonderful place with plenty of music to learn and hear."
I smile at her and keep playing '1d10+2'

Roll #1 10 + 2 = 12

Correction! you attract a bit of a crowd as you play a song about flying over mountains. The sea ponies curious start to throw out titles of songs you don't know. "Sharks on horizon?" "The ballad of whalesong?" "Ink clouds in the cave?"
"This is Red, he's been my pet for years now.. See He's got Red spots on his claws." the little crab has a bit of metal as his shell, and red speckles on his claws.

Well then… I stutter and clamor at the songs I've never heard of but try again.
C-Can I keep that roll?

Or not. Goodnight.

yes I was trying to fix my mistake about your location!
the crowd grows bigger and looks more impressed. a few toss some sand dollars your way. A clown fish stops by and decides to be your drummer. There is cheering and some dancing when you finish your number. "What was that called."
you go to on that looks a well stocked enough, there is a yellow mare behind the counter "Can I help you?"

oh.. yeah it is latish night.

I'll nod enthusiastically.
"What's with the metallic bits? Armor plating? He's a very handsome crab, for certain."

"Is there anything else you want to know about crystals? Or magic in general?"
pause soon

"A little song called The Heights of My Love. One of my favorites!"
I bow, and give a wink to any mares watching and I give the strings a last few plucks in hopes of a few more sand dollars tossed my way '1d10+2'

How much do I have now?

Roll #1 5 + 2 = 7

"Can't really think of much else at the moment."

Spirit gives up on trying to feed Red "That shell? Its something he found on one of his trips to surface. he goes up there every once in a while to find a new shell to call home. He's a growing creature after all." he smiles proudly "He's a pretty sharp fellow too, always picking something sturdy, and bringing back bits of information when he can."

The ladies swoon at your wink, and more ponies eagerly toss the shiny sea coin your way. you have a good pile now, but maybe a little more won't hurt, those pearls are expensive?

"He goes up to the surface? What's it like? All I know is from when I hold my breath and look over the waves. Never see anything but more ocean… But it must be fascinating!"

True. While I have their attention… one more song. Something smooth and romantic. Arioso's gotta have the best after all…!

Roll #1 7 + 2 = 9

"Well, its certainly an honor to have you in my study. Maybe I can show you what I've been working on?" she picks up a half finished manta ray, its made of a bit of metal and a bit of crystal, there are some gears on the inside. "Something that can run without magic, or without much magic anyway. I am trying to get it to run for weeks off a single spark of energy, but so far.. " she taps it an it blinks a few times "It won't run for more than a few minutes, and this is the smallest thing I wanted to do, a toy really.."
"Its.. a whole new world.. Its full of wonders, and dangers.. and very warm. He claims he can hide easily in the sand as he searches for a new home, and that surface sand falls apart in pieces, not shifting the way it does under here, and that there are huge flying creatures, and well as land ponies that try to kidnap you" Spirit almost laughs "But this is also from the view of a tiny crab." Red shakes a claw at that. "I'm certain those were just sea gulls you saw red."
A couple dance to your music and sneak in a kiss when they think no one is looking. the mare tosses you an extra coin as they leave. You believe you have enough for a fairly fancy pearl necklace now.

"That sounds so amazing! If only there was a way for seaponies to breathe on land! I'd give my left fin for that!"

I bow as I finish playing and take my leave back to the stand. It's been a while since I put my charm to use like that… on a scale from 1 to 10 how much did I enjoy playing that ladies colt again? '1d10'

Approach the jewelry stand from earlier and put my sand dollars down on her counter.
"I'd like the most beautiful necklace I can get with this, please."

Roll #1 7 = 7

"Surely, something has to strike you when you think of her?

they seem to be following you color wheel speech and both answer your question at once "Angel fish" "Seaweed pie!"

"Interesting, you could use necrotic magic since we saw that it worked when I tried it on crystal. I've had Fenrir up for a while in the past, but it does tends to wear off easily from damage."

Just look at them with a smile.
"This might be harder than I anticipated. I guess one last thing I should ask about is how much of her the dress covers. Does she like big, poofy clothes, or smaller, easier to take care of things?"

Spirit looks a little shy at this "Well.. I do know a way actually.. that spell that was used on the land ponies to make them seaponies.. it works both ways, and I discovered how to make it more permanent."
looks like you really enjoyed that. "Of course sir." she immediately picks up on the the bigger necklaces. Its a four layer necklace. "Is this one too plain? I have some with other gems accompanying the pearls." pic related for what I mean.
"Maybe.. I don't actually perform necromancy myself, just make the crystals."
"She loves the poofy stuff, its all the rage in her circle of friends."

I'll swim up, almost in his face.
"You do? You mean there's a way? And you could cast it?"
I'll pull back a second.
"Wait, what landponies? You don't mean… Odie and Allie and all the rest of them? Ebony too?"

"Oh.. you didn't know? I'm sorry I said anything then.."

So I did. That rush… I shake my head and think of Arioso.
But maybe… if it's for her sake, I wouldn't mind doing it again. For her sake.
"A few gems in the mix would be fine. As long as it's mostly pearls."
I hand her the money and give a slight bow while smiling.

I'll shake my head.
"Don't be! I mean, yeah, it's kind of a shock, but it explains a few things. Like not knowing what sand dollars are, or her really cute ears."
I'll nod to myself.
"But! I'm not just going to let this opportunity swim away! When they go back up to the surface, I want to go with them."

"What have you tried so far to make it work?"

"Then you'll want to accent her. The dress is already taking center stage, you have to remind all the other sea ponies that she's there too. So taking into account that she's green and blue, white is neutral and stays out of it, and that she likes to wear yellow, we can see that a red or orange would stand out more. Not only would it highlight and contrast her colors, it would even function like a flag and call attention to her if she wears it on yellow. What do you think?"

"Shopping for someone special?" She shows you a few more necklaces "Do they like cool colors like blue? Maybe this nice jade is what you want?"
"I've been able to electrically charge a gem and make that its 'heart' but its been.. rough at best."
"Well, that can be arranged for sure! You know.. Rhodan asked me to come along back with you guys but I just.. I can't leave at a time like this.."
the nod to each other.
Spot: "Well, she would probably like that.. Thanks, you can have something from the shop at a discount for your help!"
Speckles nudges him
Spot continues "Uh.. on us.. that is.. We really mostly sell art supplies, like paper, and paint."

I clap my hooves together
"Perfect! And yes, someone very special to me. I'll take it!"

I'll ponder a minute.
"I can see why you'd say that. I mean, the sharks are going to need an ambassador, after all! Someone who knows their customs, how to deal with both sides of the tide pool, all that fun stuff. But if you stay, who casts the spell? Can it be taught?"

"Rough how? Does it just not work enough or does it end in disaster?"

She smiles. "I'll wrap it up for you then." she places it in the box and wraps it up neatly with ribbon. "She must be a lucky mare." the shopkeeper comments. you wound up with a few coins of change, 30 sand dollars.
"Their unicorn Anya picked up on the basic spell well enough, I'm sure she can do the improved version too.. but also. Its not required for me to transform to use the spell, only the target is changed… No, in fact, if I was the only one who could cast the spell I wouldn't be able to go at all! "

"I'm the lucky one here!"
I pocket the sand dollars and hurry back to Arioso
Thanks for running Andy!

"Usually it only works for a moment before stopping, rare cases it will explode, but ever since I stopped using jelly fish bodies an insulators that problem has stopped. The worst this model has done has zapped me, an expected effect of using eclectically charged crystals to power it."

"Thanks, it's just what I was looking for originally. I'll tell you, it's really nice that you were thinking of your mother, ties like that are important. Even in dreams they are hard to forge."

Let's get just a little of each and get started on drawing some parts of the city.

"Just like these two siblings, the Queen may have wanted what was best for others and disagreed with the Prince, but she went about it the wrong way. When I gathered the facts about their mother, I was able to offer ways to help the siblings. If I had forced myself like you might have preferred, they would have rejected my offer without the backing of facts. When it came to the Queen, we still had to find out exactly why she did things, so that's why I had to settle on stopping the Queen and her guards. In the Queen's case, her fate is in someone else's paws after we got all the details."

"Then… Then maybe I could learn it too! And I'd be able to go to and from the surface whenever I'd want!"
I'll swim about excitedly for a moment.
"Do you think I could get her to teach me? Or if you've got the notes, I could study them? I mean, this is an amazing spell you cooked up! Just think of what it would mean for both ourselves and the surface! We could actually trade with the surface ponies for materials and information! I mean, the world you opened up… It's the whole world!"

"Hmm, I think it isn't holding the charge to stay powered. Have you tried anything else before you got to electric charged crystals?"

You do so.
you begin painting and the seaponies take some notice of your work looking over your shoulder. The paintbrush lends itself to this task adjusting its tip to what you want it to be, and showing you the exact color you are using curiously it stays green once the paint is gone.
"I tried letting it run on the current itself, but that only worked when there was actually a strong enough current and not everywhere."

"Sure, I gave Anya notes already I wouldn't mind telling you how its done. But I don't know about a whole new world opening up, I'd rather stay under the sea myself, I've seen what some ponies will do when threatened.. in my days holding up ships, and its not always pretty, friends throwing each other over board as bait for my sea serpent so they could survive.. of course i wasn't necessary, I just wanted their food"

Then he adds "Well, in many ways, it a lot like here. What that Queen Cloephin did wasn't pretty, and some of the sharks have done some regrettable things to gain a bit more than they needed.." spirit looks over to red "And if they make things that Red finds interesting.. and those land ponies trying to help us.. well, I guess if things were different I might consider it"

##pause time

I'll pout a little.
"But things don't just become different if we wait for them to change! We've gotta go out there and change them! I mean, look at what you've already done. You managed to talk the sharks into agreeing to meet with the prince. That's already going to change so much! As for the land-ponies, well, if Odie and her friends are any indication, then we should be able to get along with them pretty well too!"

preemptive bump.

The night has finally come. Prince Daniel sits at the head of the table, His outfit seems little more than a reorganized flag, a Green and White striped Cloak, with a regal crown on his head. Ebony sits to herself, she is wearing a purple dress, and her mane is done up in a bun with a shell as a bow. Spirit simply has a bow tie, and is standing to the side looking behind the door way. A few guards are posted at the entrance wearing an ornate version of their normal armor. A small seapony with a fluffy collar speak. "Now entering, the Royal Ladies." They part and let a a stream of fancy ladies flow in, each one being announced as they swim to a seat.. "Lady Camille, Lady Cassandra, Lady Ciel, Lady Cinder, Lady Cloe.." A total of twelve come in, all equally fancy, and pretty.. they take up a whole end of the table. A few wink at the party.
"The Guests of Honor will now enter." Spirit is seen waving and two handsome white colored shark ponies, wearing matching blue bow ties, swim to a seat near the front, looking rather impressed by the ladies. "Lex and Leon!"
Soon after swims a big and strong looking shark, he wears no bow tie, and looks hungrily at both the lavish meal and the fancy ladies.. "Blood Fin." the announcer says. He smirks and finds a seat next to Ebony Heart, as was promised to him earlier.

"Aren't we guests of honor?"

I smile at all of them as they enter.

I elbow you in the side.
"Of course we are. That's why we were seated before they were."

Bow at the ladies as they swim in.

I nudge him
"That's not important right now, kid!"

"This dinner has rocketed past what I ever considered fancy, so I'm going to try and stay quiet and out of the way."

I give a small smile to all of them as they wave.

I wave too!

I sit back as everyone enters

Your title would be 'Heroes who Bring Peace', but you are already here.
they wave at you as well, with their fancy color coordinating shells and bright smiles.
"Acting as official translation specialized. Spirit Fang." the announcer says and spirit swims to the seat reserved for him right near Leon, Lex and Daniel. Prince Daniel speak loudly "Welcome all, and please enjoy the meal."
Lex and Leon smile "Indeed, it all looks.. marvelous" the turn to spirit to be sure they are using the word correctly, spirit nods eagerly. They grabs some rare looking fish, and begin to chow down. Blood Fin copies them, but eats much sloppier. Daniel just grabs a few shrimps for now.

I causally look around. Are there servers here or do we grab our own food?

I eat some seaweed or something.

Let's look at what the ladies that came in are wearing. I had suggested that red fan, but what are the others here wearing?

I take my seat next to Arioso and look around. How close to the prince are we?
And uh… what's the food like?

I, uh
I've never really eaten much seafood before…
I grab the thing that looks like it's the tastiest?

Roll #1 5 = 5

Guess I'll try a little bit of everything

I've been paying attention the whole time. Honest. I'm not too nervous to eat.
…Am I too nervous to eat? '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

Apparently not. I'm starving.
So, in keeping with those manner books I read earlier, I'll start filling up my plate.

File: 1375324358187.png (7.49 KB, 1522x531, TheTable.png) ImgOps Google

There are a few servers swimming by if you desire, it is acceptable to grab what you like if its close enough to you. "What may I get you Lady Oddette, a bit of seaweed salad?"
A fine choice.
you are anywhere in the orange you like. I imaged Oddette as in that spot on the other side of Daniel. Close enough to hear everything and contribute.
The food is all manner of selection of sea life, sea weed, and jelly fish, prepared in ways that are strange, yet amazing. The most popular dish seems to be a jellyfish gelatin, is shaped like small shells and you can see bits of something floating inside. its surprisingly sweet.
You start with the appetizer foods, the sea weed salad, using the proper utensil, and eating a bit at a time. you look so fancy that anyone could mistake you for royal blood.

Prince Daniel: "Was your journey here very hard?"
Lex: "No, it was easy actually, now that your men are not trying to kill us."
Daniel appears nervous at that: "Right.."

"Yes, please."
I watch Cloudcaller out of the corner of my eye to make sure he is chewing with his mouth closed.

I guess I'll try some of the fish then, and continue to try and see what styles and colors the Ladies are wearing.

I'd like to be sitting across from Ebony.
Aren't books great. And there's even a lovely seamare across the table… no, focus on dinner. This fork with that food, that spoon with… wait, why would I need a spoon?
I know, conversation!
…would be great if I knew what to talk about.
"Say, Ebony, you look really nice in that dress. It really complements you."

I grab some sea weed and jelly fish.
"Never actually tried something like this…"
Poke at it before taking a bite

I munch politely. Momma taught me right.

Also, how's the prince getting along? Can I hear his conversation? '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

Well… I pile some food onto my plate and try it all I guess.
Is it any good?

"Neither have I…"

Roll #1 9 = 9

I'll take some seaweed and jellyfish gelatin and take a seat at the table

Any warriory or knighty types around?

"It tastes… different. Nothing like I thought it would."
Give it another poke then take another bite as I hold Arioso's fin with mine under the table.

I give him a soft smile as I feel him grab my fin.
"It tastes pretty good actually!"

The server places some one your plate until indicate that is enough.
seems like cloudcaller is being polite.

"Oh, thank you Alecrus. You look rather nice in that rainbow outfit, it matches your scales."
No need to roll, you can hear him just fine. He looks to be failing to even make small talk with the sharks.
Of course its good, it was made by the finest chiefs under the sea. how they manage to make things juicy underwater will remain a mystery but its wonderful.
The sea weed is comparable to a slimy salad, and the jellyfish gelatin is sweet yet satisfying.
Well there are the sharks, they are a warrior species, Blood Fin certainly is attacking that meal with gusto at least.

"The pleasure of having you here is unfathomable.."
Leon "Please, Daniel if you wish to ask something then do so."
"Well, what do you think of the city so far?"
L&L "I think it is a fortress, a save haven from the monsters, and that you have a display of impressive measures"
"So, would you consider joining such a place?"
"Joining, yes, we wouldn't be here if if wasn't our intent to discuss it."
Spirit looks to the party for help.

I thank the server and start eating.
"Mmm. Delicious."
I try a few of the other things too.

I shrug at spirit. They seem to be getting along well enough so far.

"Well sounds like the Sharks and the Sea Ponies are hitting it off together, right Odette?"

I go talk to the nearest Shark knight looking guy and introduce myself.

They're talking, not stabbing, so it's good.

Give Spirit a toothy smile and a fin up and help myself to more fish.

do you wish to approach Lex, Leon, Blood Fin, Rhodan or a random shark guard?

I'll smile at the compliment.
I'll turn to Daniel, Lex, and Leon.
"So, Prince Daniel, do we already have the buildings that the sharks could move into? Or were you going to wait until this has all been formalized to start construction?"

I nod.
"It does. I hope everything keeps going well."

I nod at Spirit and clear my throat.
"It is quite a beautiful place. Peaceful too."
I smile at Lex and Leon
"A good place for both of your species to coexist, don't you think?"

I smile at Spirit.
"Just keep talking! Things are going well it looks like!"
I turn to Allegro and squeeze his fin.
"Do you wanna go socialize love?"

Uh…. which one looks the coolest?

Not Rhodan I already know him.

I blush slightly
"I would love to Ari. Just give me one minute."

I continue eating, seems they're going fine enough so far with peace talk

Blood Fin it is then. He looks strong and has a few cool scars. "Hello Cloud Caller, my name, Blood Fin. You look tougher than these other seaponies." he smiles
Spirit looks a little relieved, you can tell he is tense right now.

Daniel picks up on this "Yes, we have plenty of space for your kind here, you could move in if you find it agreeable."
"We might find that agreeable" they whisper to spirit.
Spirit "Lex and Leon wish to know what you might like in return for allowing them space in your city, and how much land you might allow them for hunting."
Daniel nods "I can allow the north western quarter for their homes, and for their hunting space.. how much do they need?"
L&L "We ask for 1000 leagues of hunting space to be split among our kind."
Daniel "That's quite the area, perhaps we can define exactly where those locations are, or you could share some hunting waters with my sea ponies?"
Leon "We like to have space when we hunt, its easier, safer, better."
Lex "What you still haven't said is a price of your own Daniel."
Daniel "I would like to enlist some of your kind of fighters against the monsters. I hear that you have those among you who can even tame them." he smile at spirit. "Such aid would be valuable, and our kind could become brothers by sharing the battle field."
Blood fin Cheers at the mention of battle "What monsters, when can Blood Fin Fight them?!"

"Ah, thanks. You're pretty tough-looking, too. Not like most fish I've met.

"So you're a shark. What's that like? You gonna move in with these sea ponies?"

I'll smile a little that conversation has resumed.
"Say, Ebony, have you tried any of the Jelly Tarts? They've still got just a little bit of the sting in them for flavor."

Dog up, and let's go talk to some of these ladies. Which is the closest one and introduce ourselves.

I give a surprised look at Blood Fin, then chuckle
Nod at him and make a punching motion with my hoof to hint to him to keep on that subject

I try to strike up a conversation with the royal ladies.
"How's the high life?"

That motion was to the prince

Blood fin grins at you. "Maybe, Seaponies have a very nice lair. Make good fish, spicy. All new tastes for Blood Fin!" he viciously tears off a piece of meat from the fish and tosses it into his mouth. "Blood Fin loves to be a sharkpony, proud to fight, proud to live. Blood Fin is strong, almost as strong as the leaders."
She smiles "Yes, I find them.. interesting, we didn't have anything like that back home. Well, not that I tried many foods back home, I mostly ate a special plant, moonlight ferns, they unfold at night, or in low light."
You go over to the ladies section and make yourself known to one of them. "Oh, hello. I am Lady Catherine." she smiles and scoot over for you. "You're not particularly a shark are you? I hear you helped arrange this diner?"
the food is very satisfying. Is there something on your mind? You could speak it.
Daniel nods and subtly copies you.

It seems like they just needed a bit of a push in the right direction. The talks are progressing to specifics of the treaty, and when raids on monster dens can be assembled. Daniel looks to you heroes, getting your attention.
"Friends, The shark ponies wish for you to join them on a monster hunt, would you be interested in that?"
"Oh, its wonderful."
"The Prince is great."
"I want him to marry me"
"Oh, I was wondering why you are called heroes? Did you fight in a war?"

"Erm… what enemies do you want them to fight, Prince Daniel?"

"That's cool. I'm hoping to get back to the surface soon. You ever been there?"

"It sounds tasty. Never heard of it though. Is it one of those surface plants?

"Thanks to us it never turned into a war, or at least not a bloody one. We kept the fighting to a minimum and in the end both sides were able to live in peace. I hope we can recreate that here."

"There is a giant squid that keeps bothering our hunters, It would be nice to be rid of it, but we hadn't the pony power with the war going on."

"Giant hm? That sounds fun!"
I grin and look at Arioso to see her reaction

"Yes, I was one of the newcomers who helped with the dinner. And you are correct, I am not exactly what you would call a shark. To be fair, though, I came over to learn a little more about you and your friends here. What can you say about the recent happenings around here? What do you think of them?"

"Oooh." the sea pony ladies look impressed. "And you still manage to keep your mane so silky." "What is your secret?"
"Do you have a lover?"
"Oh, hush you can't ask that?"
"Right, Well.. I am happy we have a home here, it has been nice, and its easier to find traders when they can't be killed on their way to your home"
"Surface? No, Blood Fin have plenty to fight and hunt without bothering madarak"
Ebony nods. "It was told to me that it was the Night Mistress's gift, her special meal for us. We had normal foods as well, but the Moonlight Ferns were most common."
"So, you'll go then?"
"I think our mother was wrong to try and harm the Prince, Daniel is a great leader. I imagine this must be hard for him."

Daniel taps the table gently. "Excuse me friends. We have reached an agreement. There will be a union between our peoples. The sharks allowed sanctuary and homes in our city, and a portion of land to hunt with, in return they will help clear away monsters and other threats so we can all rest easier at night, Please continue with your diners."
to the party "The first monster raid will be on a giant squid, If you have time your presence would be valued there."

"Yay! That's good news."

I blush a bit at the lover part.
"It's naturally like this. This is a very nice place. Remind me, was it the crystal seapony that built this entire place, or was it only the castle she built?"

"A giant squid? What's it doing to them?"

"Hey yeah good question."

"Night mistress?"
I'll look to the Prince.
"Well, I'd like to go, but I promised to help deal with a gang. Some crazy mobster named Lobster. When were planning on the hunt, because I might be able to attend if I do the gang thing fast enough."

"If it's harming ponies, then of course!"

"We were there, and it was not a pretty sight. It took a lot out of him, even with my casual knowledge of him. However, have you heard of this they just mentioned?"

"It's a squid… aren't those just like… weird things with tentacles? That doesn't seem like it can hurt a pony."

The sea ponies ladies cheer and smiled to each other when they heard the news.

"Its causing troubles for our hunters, traders just ovoid that area now, but its ripe with fish so it would be a great gain to us if we clear out the beast."
Lex and Leon "Yes, we have issues with the squid as well. He killed one our warriors.."
"She built much of it, mainly the castle and towers, and then just spawned a lot of crystal for our workers to use."
"Yes, thank you for your support."
" Blood Fin will have your fin covered seapony! "
"We can arrange for the raid to happen on a different night. It will take some time for the sharks to assemble anyway."
She reels back "I would rather not hear the details, she is still our mother, even if she was cruel and wrong."

Indeed it is. Everyone seems happy about this.

"She was my queen, goddess. Still is really, I am looking for what the real her is like, instead of a false one."

"Maybe we can just get the squid to leave. You know it's just doing what it's meant to do, and we shouldn't kill it if we don't have to."

"Oh, you'd be surprised! For a big enough squid, the tentacles alone pack enough crushing power to kill a whale! And then it's got this nasty-sharp beak that cuts through flesh and stuff."
"That works too! That way I can get into some real adventuring gear."
And I'll cock my head slightly at Ebony.
"That sounds pretty dangerous. I know you're traveling with the others, but you wouldn't mind one more seapony lending a fin to help you look, would you?"

"Something giant could swing a limb and harm something on accident at the very least."

I nod
"An option to consider."

"Magic really is amazing. Please, excuse me."
i swim over to Spirit.
"Spirit, how long until the magic wears off?"

"I apologize if this brings up a sour point. How about we change the conversations? Tell me about your duties here in the sea pony kingdom."

I frown.

I frown even more.
"I think… I think we might have to kill it after all love. That just sounds too dangerous. What if it starts going after ships if we chase it away?"

"You have another two days on this spell. I did find a way to make the spell more permanent, and it works both ways, so a sea pony could come onto land if it desired."
Ebony blushes, her cute ear tufts wiggling. "I think I would like it if you came along, but you don't have to. "
Spirit speaks up "I will try talking to it, but I've heard rumors that its a very stubborn creature easily offended."
Lex "and we will have sharks back you up in case it attacks."
Daniel "I'll have my own men go as well, this is team work after all."

"Like most of the noble daughters I am taught to use magic, and help support from the back lines in battle. Some of us have other talents, like trading, art, or styling manes, these are newer jobs, but I like them the best."

I frown back.
"We'll just have to see how it behaves when we get to it dear."

"Really? Hmm, I wonder if we will have to come back in a few months to sort out problems between your two species and the ponies. I hope not. When is the quid hunt planned for?"

"Alright. When do we go?"

Matter: settled.
"Well, the only thing really keeping me here is my books. And those will still be here if I leave them to someone I trust."
I'll smile.
"And besides, I want to come with you."

"A true renaissance pony, it seems. How do you help the others in combat? Sorry if I'm asking, but the last few days have required more aggression on my part, so I'd like to be prepared. I took to magic and combat at a later age, but I'm glad I did since it has give me the opportunity to meet you. Say, of all those new jobs, which is your favorite?"

"Just let us talk to it. We're pretty good at this sort of thing."

"I certainly hope not."
"We can pull everyone together as soon as tomorrow night, the sharks want to start no later than the morning after tomorrow. We'll let your group and Spirit go in first if you insist, but be careful. "
She smile nearly squeaking as she replies "That's great news!"
"I am able to conjure electricity, a valuable skill here. But with Diamond's new weapons its less needed for us to go out there. I can also sing, it helps the warriors swim in synced and know what formation to use. "

"That sounds like a good time to me."

"I guess we have one thing in common then, since lightning colors my magic too. However, while my fighting style tends to rely on my Doppelganger and I getting close to overpower enemies, I would like to hear your singing voice if that chance is available."

"Alright. Plenty of time to prepare!"

Grinning widely, I'll nod.
"I can hardly wait!"
And let's finish that dinner.

"Do you have any other stuff on the giant squid?"

Lex and Leon seem exceptionally pleased "It will be an honor to see you in action."
Daniel "Indeed. Now.." he motions to one of the servants and music starts to play several of the ladies rise and locate partners.
"What is this?"
"Spirit? What is going on?"
"Its.. a dance.. a custom."
"Let me show you." Daniel himself swims up a little tilted and locates Claire, the Seapony you first met as a partner.

I give them room and watch them.

I'll swallow a little heavily.
"Say, uh, Ebony, I don't suppose you'd like to dance? I only really know the one, but…"

"Looks like the festivities have begun. Care showing a fresh sea dog how to dance this particular dance?"

Offer her a fin/paw.

I smile as I hear the music starting and see others get up to dance.

Turn to Arioso and offer her my hoof
"May I have this dance, my sweet?"

I gasp and smile widely, softly giggling.
"You may."
I get up and give him my hoof.

Even with his injury he still knows the steps and the way he moves you would hardly think he was harmed at all. He smiles as they change places several times.
you however notice that he is unable to do the more complex part of the dance with his missing fin.
"I can't say I know how.." Ebony says "I was not taught such things." she swims closer to you.
You conversation partner nods. "Certainly. I bet your paws will help you do the twist."she can leads you into the dance.

the shark ponies look on in awe, Blood fin grinning when he notices that you do this 'dancing' with ladies, he decides to find one to dance with. '1d10' for how he performs in the dance you don't have to roll if you don't want to roll, you can default to a six

Roll #1 1 = 1

"It's okay! I should remember enough from the book… lessee, this fin goes here, that goes there, and we give a little swish…"
please RNG let me lead this dance. '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

"With someone like you at my side, I'm sure of it."

Roll #1 5 = 5

Might as well.

I look around for Cloudcaller.

I lead her to the dance floor and gaze into her eyes.
"You look especially beautiful tonight Ari.."
Start dancing with her '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

"And you're so handsome tonight Alle…"
I follow his movements, staying close and looking into his eyes.

Roll #1 2 = 2

I'm floating over here munching on some more seaweed and looking around for cool-looking warrior-types.

I swim over to you.
"Do you know how to dance?"

He spins his unfortunate and scared partner too hard and too fast. Clearly he's enjoying himself too much to notice the damage he is doing. Spirit tries to stop him but is simply smashed aside by the over enthusiastic blood fin. lets see if he does eve more damage '1d10'
You don't exactly know this dance. but you know kind of how to dance so you just fake it and make your way around the floor in each other's hooves. You don't fake it very well, but no one says anything.
She leads you in the dance, and makes you look decent but you are pretty clumsy.
You two are like shining stars, your outfit reflecting the light in a truly unique way. You get the impression is was made for this kind of event. You managed to guide Ebony in the dance steps perfectly, and quietly so it seemed like she knew it all along. You finish the dance with Ebony in your arms smiling and breathing a little shallow in her her pruple dress. Seems she wasn't used to dressing this way..

Roll #1 10 = 10

"Well, I think I'm starting to get the beat."

Roll #1 9 = 9

he spins his partner in a fantastic loop, that manages too save the whole performance. She seems a little woozy but over all happy.

Finish our dance. W-We're obviously very distracted by looking into each other's eyes!

Roll #1 8 = 8

I'll smile back.
"Well, for only having learned it out of a book, I think I did pretty well. And you were great!"
I'll notice her breathing a bit harder.
"Are you okay? I didn't go too fast, did I?"

R- Right!

Roll #1 7 = 7

"Whoa you are a fast learner." she seems impressed. "Do you have a place to stay tonight?"
Clearly it was just the light. Or maybe noticing Alecrus's perfect dancing inspired you? You seem to have it down now anyway.
"No its this.." she gestures to the dress. "Its tight."

"Uh, well, kinda, yeah. Like we danced at homecoming, but I'm not very good…"

"I'm sure I won't be missed for one night."

And now I'm just content to gently sway to the rhythm in Allegro's legs.
"This is so wonderful…"

"Well I'm better than good. Come on."
I grab you and drag you to the dance floor.

I'll nod.
"Are you sure they got the fit right? They're supposed to move with you… Did you want to sit back down, or change into something more comfortable?"
I'll blush a little.
"I, uh, I mean, I'm not trying to, um, insinuate anything, but I'm sure the ladies in waiting should be able to make it a bit more comfortable if nothing else."

I follow~

Aw this is adorable.
"If.. You could just.. tug on the strings a little for me? You're really good at dancing. Are you sure you only learned from a book?"

It seems like Lex and Leon want to join the fun, they dance with each other. their over all performance. '2d10+3'

Roll #1 1, 1 + 3 = 5

"I'll lead, you follow."

I start to dance along with the others.

Roll #1 3 + 2 = 5

>1, 1
Spirit just face fins as Lex and Leon both try to mimic the female role of the dance and trip over each other landing in the shrimp bowl

Bring Arioso close and kiss her.
"Even while dancing, I lose myself in your eyes dear."
Then I lean in and whisper.
"And I have just the thing to compliment such beautiful eyes.."

I'll grin a little sheepishly.
"Just earlier this afternoon, actually. I spent the hours we had before the party cramming as much about fancy parties as I could into my head."
And I'll move around and gently, so very gently tug on the dress string. By the tides, I hope I don't fudge it now… '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

I try to keep up

Roll #1 2 = 2

"This dance is getting started, and we shouldn't leave one of your friends behind."

Doppelganger, "We are dancing, not attacking. . [1d10]

Then let's see how the two of us do. [2d10]

Roll #1 3 = 3 / Roll #2 6, 7 = 13

I eagerly return his kiss and swoon.
"Oh Alle…"
I perk up when he mentions what sounds like a gift.

I swim behind her and put her hooves to her eyes.
"No peeking~"
Then I quickly take out the necklace I bought and put it around her neck

I giggle when he puts my hooves over my eyes.
And when he finally puts the necklace on and I open my eyes, I gasp.
"Alle… this is… how did you… I- I…"
I softly tear up from happiness and pull him into a tight hug.
"Thank you. Thank you so much… I love you."

"Oh, still that must have been very hard -ah" she sighs with relief as you loosen the dress for her. "That's much better." You managed to make it set a little higher on her flank as well, it looks much better on her now.
"I understand" your doppel emerges, a bit less solid than usual. but that makes him easier to spin around the floor, you perform quite well.
Spirit blinks. "Ah, you know.. we sharkponies don't really dance.." '1d10' can spirit figure this shit out..

Lex and Leon seem content to float around the table picking shrimp off each other.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Keep going and show them that at least Dog Sharks have moves.

Roll #1 9, 1 = 10

"I snuck out for a little bit to find something especially stunning for you, love."
Smile and hug her back.
"And I love you too, Ari."

Despite you being unusually slow Cloudcaller just can't get up. he seems to be tripping over the water.

I roll my eyes.
"Come on, Cloudcaller. You said you've danced before. You've got the mare's steps this time, so pretend you are one and follow my lead."

Roll #1 1 + 2 = 3

"It's beautiful…"
I sniffle and continue to tear up some more while hugging.

"H-hey! I just haven't done this in a while, you know?"

Try not to bump into her too much

Roll #1 3 = 3

I'll grin.
"Glad I could help."
I'll rub the back of my neck.
"Eh-heh. And if there's one thing I know, it's books."

you fare better than Spirit who is struggling to keep in beat, your doppel steps in front of oddette when they finish colliding he is laying down as if he's dying. "Master, help"
You see a transparent Rhodan suddenly in your face and fall over him, messing up the dance completely.
she bumps into you when she trips over Rhodan's translucent double.
"Really? I was more of a hooves on mare, learned how to heal at a young age, turns out I was meant to do it." she turns for a second to see the mess over there and then turns back "I am so glad I have a partner who knows the floor and the right moves."

I stand up.

"Rhodan, what's wrong with your doppleganger?"

Run a hoof through her hair
"I'm glad you like it. I want only the best for my mare."

"Don't think you'll mind being dispelled at this moment?"

Dispel and then call him back to help Odette while I help Cloudcaller.

Roll #1 8 = 8

"He's a bit more attuned to fighting than formation dancing, sorry. Here, he'll help you up."

"Let's just say that's the story, and we'll stick to it."
I'll chuckle a bit.
"So, did you want to go for another dance, or did you want get an early night?"

"I'm already up, but thanks."

we can stop when you all are ready.
"I'm feeling much better now, I'll leave it up to you if you want another round of dancing. Its very enjoyable."
You see the doopel disappear and reappear again next to Oddette, who is then offered a hoof up by the stronger looking doppelganger. Cloud caller didn't need help but you check him for injuries finding none.

"Again, I apologize for Doppels, for my mistake. Let's continue dancing,"

Point to the other sharks with the shrimp all over them,

"We aren't the most noticeable bad dancers tonight."

Well, I'll take the six on one more dance, and then I'll let her get away for the night.

I dust myself off.
"Want to keep dancing?"

With Doppelganger at my side, let's return to the Sea Ponies.
"Tell us ladies, what ideas did you have for the rest of the night?"

Your outfit flares out a bit less this time, or maybe its just the light growing dimmer because you've been partying for a long while now. You see many of the seaponies have stopped dancing and are drifting off in groups.
Catherine seems like she is bored, and is accopanied by a striped mare who also seems bored. they light up at your persence. "Oh, we're just going to spend the night at my house." says Catherine. "This is Susan, she's a fun mare." They blink at there being two of you
"am I seeing double?" Susan asks.

the party over all is dying down.

"Seems pretty hard in these bodies, you know?"

"Yeah. I'm going to call it early. Big day tomorrow."
I give you a quick kiss on the cheek.

I wish the prince, the sharks, my friends, and the other important guests goodnight then swim off to wherever I have been staying.

"I don't suppose you'd like an escort back your room? I mean, if that's not too forward! I don't quite know what surface ponies do after parties like this…"

Blush and smile a bit. "Goodnight, Odette."

"I'm one of the few people you will meet who can be in two places at once. This is my Doppelganger, as solid and as hardy as I. Is this the first time either of you has met someone capable of this?"

"Don't wake me up getting into bed tonight, okay?"
I wave at you as i leave.

Thanks for running.

you can all stay at guests room in palace.
"We didn't have many parties, so I don't know." she smiles. "But It sounds like a lovely thing to do."
They turn to each other and giggle "Yea, its the first time I've seen this."
"You simply must come back to Catherine's so we can learn more!" they start to lead you away, do you follow?
always a pleasure

"What kind of Diamond Dog would I be to refuse? Lead the way."

Thanks for this.

"Then I'll see you to your room."
And off we go to Ebony's room, where I'll likely be leaving her for the evening unless she has other plans.

Head up to Odette's and my room.

she is a proper lady not some seaslut. She gives you a polite curtsy and allows you to kiss her hoof.

its very nice, comfort fit for a royal guest. The bed is large enough for you both and there is a fancy mirror and dresser next to the walk in closet.

Which I shall accept gracefully.
"See you tomorrow!"
And with that, it's back to the study to spend the evening packing for the Lobster Mobster and Squid hunts.

I take Arioso up to our room and retire for the night

Thanks for running!

>this is what the rooms all look like

###Pasued: Day one of under sea adventures complete. Two days Remain

Last time on Dream Dust: The sea ponies and the sharks have reached an agreement over a nice nice meal. There was celebratory dancing, and everyone had a good night's sleep either in available guest rooms or other arrangements.

The party was invited to the first joint hunting adventure of the shark and sea ponies, in which they will hunt down a giant squid. This will occur on Night 2/ Final Morning.

The party has learned of a "Mobster Lobster" running some kind of crime ring out of caves in the Mantahawk Ridge. This has no real deadline, but morning might be a good time to investigate it.

Alright! All ready to hunt down this Lobster character. It'll be just like those detective books. Let's swim to the castle to meet the others. I'll be wearing my Shimmering Mist Robe, since mobster hunting is no place for a dance robe.

I need to make sure Catherine and Susan are still tucked in, then head to the Castle with my travelling gear.

Investigating that monster sounds like a good idea. I head off to group up with the others.

I'll swim over to the castle to meet up with the others.
We're gonna take DOWN this Mobster Lobster!

You meet up together outside of the palace. Spirit and Ebony are here as well, they're looking over a map.
"Good morning!" Ebony greets you warmly. "I borrowed a map from the royal library, so we won't be lost, but we should return it. It shows all the important known areas here."
Spirit is quietly contemplating it.

"What's on your mind, Spirit?"

"That's great!"
I notice Spirit.
"What's wrong, Spirit?"
I swim over to Spirit.

I'll smile and wave back to her, then stop.
"Hey, Ari and Alley, did we ever get the Lobster's location from that pickpocket? He might still be in the prisons."

"Oh good."
I take a look at the map to see where Mantahawk Ridge is

Spirit smiles at you "Oh, its probably nothing, but looking over this map.. I see that the Squid is nesting close to someone I once knew."
assuming that you passed this knowledge on to each other. Ebony shows you the map, and you can clearly point out Mantahawk Ridge, because its shaped vaguely like a Mantahawk: a creature with hawk like head, and wings, but a manta tail. It lays eggs, and is mildly dangerous.

"Someone you knew once?…"
I scrunch up.
"What… did something happen to them?"

Right. Whoops. Of course we'd have shared the information.
"So we're all set to go then? Everyone's got their gear? We can just swim out there, beat up the mobsters, and be back in time for dinner!"

"What is the terrain like over there? Lots of hiding places?"

And Cloudcaller was there, too

"The squid is that close to the city?"

Spirit shakes his head "No, like I said its probably nothing, The squid is near a common trade route, there are a few caves near there that she liked to hide in.. You see.. She was part of a smaller rival group of sharkponies. She was.. feisty, nothing like a squid would get her." He smiles at the memory.
Spirit remarks "The area is riddled with caves, is supposed to be like a maze."
Ebony nods. "They are most likely hiding away in there, and thieves work best at night, so maybe they will be sleeping in."

"Well then what are we waiting for? Let's go catch some thieves."

"And we just happen to have a thief in custody who might be able to lead us through that maze, right?"

"I'll make sure to bring my cartography tools then. If the caves are deep, it'll help save time."

"Let's get a move on before they start waking then."

"Well… if she's as feisty as you say, then maybe she'll still be there! So let's get goin'!"
I let out a small giggle.
"Wait, maze? A cave maze?"

"If you want to go get him, I'm sure the guards would allow us to take him." Ebony says.
Spirit nods "That sounds fine to me."
Ebony agrees. "If there isn't anything else you want to do first."
spirit smiles at the idea "I would like that.."

//are you ready to swim to the caves or do you pick up the kid first?

Pick up the thief first. He's our way through the caves. I can also pick up some chalk, or at least a good rock, to mark our way through so we don't get lost.

"Do you think your friend would be able to help guide us through the caves? She might be more helpful than the thief…"
I frown.
"He was so rude…"

"Cloudcaller, keep an eye on the thief and make sure he doesn't escape and warn his buddies, okay?"

Either or, doesn't matter to me

"But doesn't he also have the most to gain for helping us out? I mean, heck, if he can map out that cave, it'd be a service to the kingdom, and he'd get a decent job."
I hadn't said anything.

I don't stop looking at the thief.

Rolling not to blink.

Roll #1 6 = 6

"Do you think he can be trusted to join us in this? We might be in for quite a bit."

"He might not have much choice. Alley cowed him pretty good when they first met, and if he rats us out, the Lobster will probably just off him anyway. So! That means that he has to help us succeed, or he's pretty much belly-up."

I facehoof.
You can stop looking around, Cloud. He's still in the dungeon."

"Cloudcaller will keep an eye on him."

I stop looking at whatever it was I was looking at.

you have the stare of an eagle, or possibly a nosy gryphon.
you grab a some chalk, its made from a colored rock that will mark decently underwater.
The scrappy looking sea pony colt from before, a glare in his eyes as he kick against the guards "Yous wants me to guide you, fine, but it better lightens up my sentence."
"We'll see.." the guard eyes him closely as you take the thief, keeping his hooves tied.

"Hey, you help us you might even get a job! So buck up, and let's go grill us a Lobster."

"That's the guy you are supposed to keep an eye on, Cloud."

"I'll be making a map too, so no funny business and we'll see."

I don't take my eye off of that one.

"Heheheh. Thanks, Odette."

"Good idea."

I ruffle your mane.

"You better lead us first! GOT IT?!"
I glare at him.

Roll #1 6 = 6

"Yea, Yea.." the thief grumbles.
He cowers a bit at your glare "Alright, Alright. Lets go."
Well Cloudcaller can certainly do a good job of it, you give him the other end of the rope so the thief can't swim away.

And with that you made your way to Mantahawk Ridge. The sea is strangely quiet here, and there are just a few fish swimming here and there. The cliff is riddled with holes for openings, its almost dizzying. Your thief guide you to one of the many cave openings. "Heres the safest way in. I swears it!" It looks dark and narrow.

"Alright. You go first."

And I'll mark the entrance of the cave with a big X with that chalk.
"I hope this doesn't take too long… I'd hate missing out on that squid chase. It's not often you get to go out on adventures with the Prince, some sharks, and a group of bonafide heroes."

"Alright. You're going first though!"
I wait for him to start.

"Just to be safe…"
I try to summon a crystal fish to head into the tunnel first. '1d10'

"Let me try my Doppelganger first."

Your thief rolls his eyes. "Fine.." he takes the lead, along with Rhodan's double who takes control of the rope. you have enough room in here to go two by two. There is a split in the cave ahead.
You raise a cystal fish minion and send it along just ahead of the group.

The thief is making a small clicking sound as he swims, and points north "that way." He declares.

"Lead the way, thiefboy."

Echolocation? Hmm.
Keep making marks, this time an arrow to show which way we went.

"What's with the clicking sounds?"

"I'd charge some electricity to give us light, but that might give us away in such a dark place."

"Echolocation! I read that there's a creature on the surface called a bat that uses a similar thing. Most seaponies who use it down here have a little dolphin in them."

I scratch my head.
"…How do they have a little dolphin in them?"

"Seaponies can crossbreed with other sea races?"

"Maybe they swallowed a baby one."

"Oh, thought only bats had that."

"Well, it really depends on how you think seaponies came to be in the first place."
I'll nod a little.
"That's one theory that's been put out and debunked, but some think it might just be magic, or some sort of thing certain seaponies kept as they evolved. I mean, seaponies in more dangerous areas probably adapted into sharkponies to defend themselves."
I'll shrug.
"It's been a matter of debate for years."

"Cloudcaller that's horrible."

"Oh. That makes a bit more sense."

"You mean they do? That's really neat! Can't wait to get up there myself."

The thief rolls his eyes at the science talk and swims ahead, followed closely by the doppelganger and the crystal fish.

Ebony smiles "Hey, maybe I should try that too.."
'1d10' for what she is able to perceive.

Can I get a roll from all of you?

Roll #1 3 = 3

Roll #1 2 = 2

"Cloudcaller! That's awful!"
I frown.

"Oh… that's interesting!"

Roll #1 8 = 8

Roll #1 4 = 4

Roll #1 5 = 5

Roll #1 3 = 3

You don't notice anything out of the ordinary, much too dark.Ebony doesn't seem to notice anything and just shrugs "I guess it takes practice."
You see the thief fiddling with a switch on the wall, Rhodan's double is eyeing him but hasn't taken any action yet, The crystal minion is also next to him.

"Hey! What are you doing with that switch?"
I swim over to him and glare again.

Roll #1 6 = 6

"Maybe. I'm sure you'll get it, though."
"Wait, what?"

"What's he doing?"

What switch, what's going on?! Doppel, hold him close!"

"I'm sure it wouldn't hurt the dolphin!"

Roll #1 6 = 6

Arioso swims next to him swiftly and stop him with the help of the doppel ganger: from messing with it any further. Doppel holds him tight.
"I was.. just openin up a short cut, yea. so let me finishes!" he said almost whining.
Doppel:"Should we silence him master?"
You can see all this going on, and also note there are two switches.

"Seems like he wasn't telling us everything." Spirit comments.

I'll frown.
"It would probably be a wise move in the future to actually tell us what you plan on doing instead of just doing it. You getting out of this hinges on our success, after all."

"I don't believe you. If you do anything bad Cloudcaller's going to break your fins, you hear me?"

I frown.
"Tell us the truth or we'll… we'll… we'll lengthen your sentence! You're gonna stay in jail for the rest of your life! In a dark cell somewhere where nobody will remember about you!"
Bluffing the shit out of this one.

Roll #1 3 + 2 = 5

"We need his echolocation, we can't silence him now. But stay close."

"Th-that's a bit extreme, don't you think?"

"It's just a threat. I don't think fins can even get broken."

"Just lead us through this maze, shortcuts aren't really necessary at the moment."

I'll chime in.
"They might be, in case there are patrols."

He looks a bit intimidated but he could be faking it. "Alright, just.. throw the second switch, and yous will see.. It'll lead ya almost directly to da boss.."
"If that's what you want." the thief sighs.
Yes, I see, most tactical.

"I dunno. Guys?"
I look at the others.

"Burying himself doesn't make sense, so I'll trust him. Get ready for anything."

"I'm all for finishing quickly on this, but if that switch alerted them, we'll have a fight on our fins."
I'll take a moment to mark the door.
"But, even if it did, we can take them right? It's just a crook."

"He sounds like a big time mobster… he might have a bunch of crooks under him who'd fight us."
I frown.

"Yea, I guess, but knowing the full way through would be better in my opinion."

"Using a switch without saying anything while he was saying what ways to go before looks suspicious to me."

"No fear here."

"I think I agree with Khazard."

I'll just shrug.
"Well, I guess we're taking the long way, then."

"I'm okay with the long way too."

"I'm fine with the long way too."

File: 1375932304010.png (8.51 KB, 446x530, Caves03.png) ImgOps Google

Spirit shrugs "I say we flip the switch, what harm could it do."
Ebony shakes her head "It could be a trap."
//what's you final decision? is someone going to flip a switch?

"Long way."

its worth noting that while he was fiddling with switch 1, he told you to flip switch 2.

"Why are there two switches?"

Roll #1 7 = 7

"Lead us through the real path, no switches or shortcuts."

"Could lead to a trap anyway. if we just go the long way, we could clear out some opposition and keep it easier on us."."

"Hey, there are! Spit it up, kid!"

He shivers a bit under the evil eye, "Well, the second one really does lead down to the boss. The first one… does something else.. But I am not sayin' what. " seems persistent on this

"Alright, fine."
I pull the second switch.

"Hey, c'mon. You can tell me. I'm cool."

Roll #1 4 = 4

"Tell us."
I glare even harder.

Roll #1 7 = 7

The ground shakes and a slab of rock moves aside. a Tunnel is revealed that spirals down like a slide.
"Yea, well.. You're also wit the coppers. It closes a door, the door to the entrance, but you didn't hears it from me.."

"Rhodan, can you send your doppleganger?"

"We sure didn't. We overheard it from two loudmouths who walked by while we were hiding. Right?"
I'll give a small wink to the thief, and then eagerly float over the entrance. This is going great so far!

"Of course."

Take the reins of the thief from Doppel.

"Remember, no fighting yet. Let me know what you find."

"We won't. And… thank you for telling us."
I reluctantly thank him, ending with a grumble.

"So are we going down this or are we going the long way?"

"Guess it was a shortcut, but you should have mentioned it first so we didn't have to get sidetracked."

"Yes, I will return soon." Doppel slides down disappearing into the darkness. A loud thud can be heard when he reaches the bottom. The thief smirks at this but is surprised when Doppel returns a little bit later covered in sand and dirt. "The way is safe master."

"Right, sorry about that."
The thief does smile at being thanked, perhaps he doesn't get a lot of that.

"What was that noise down there?"

"I fell into a sand trap at the bottom, had to dig out."

"Where there any other entrances or exits? Anything else down there?"

I'll look at the doppelganger curiously.
"How do you fall underwater?"

He nods "There is a path down there, leads to a big room."

I think we should stop here, sorry we didn't get too far.

Thanks for running.

Thanks for the game.

Alright. Thanks for running!

The doppel looks offended. "Hey, that sand pit came out of no where! Not my fault."

It's cool. Sorry I wasn't too active. It was fun though.

The reluctant scamp of a thief has lead you this far. The secret tunnel revealed by a switch was investigated by the doppel ganger, who found at least one trap and a path leading to large room.
Khazard still has his crystal sting ray as well.

Let's keep going, then!

Let's continue on down the tunnel

I'll follow the other down the tunnel.

You all feel yourselves sliding fast down a spiraling tunnel, please roll for how well you land.

Roll #1 10 = 10

Unlike cats, dogs don't always land on their feet. Or fins in this case.

Roll #1 4 = 4

Sliding? Underwater? How patently absurd. '1d10'

Roll #1 10 = 10

Onwards we go.

Roll #1 3 = 3

And I follow! '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

Pretty sure the Ranger skill should do its thing here, though.

Roll #1 9 = 9

you control your movements with grace and glide without even having to land, sure is nice being a fish..
It does, you utilize your connection with nature and make your way safely down.
you each slide too fast and fall into the sand, it sifts quickly under you and hard is to get out of because of this odd gravitational effect.

Doppel already experienced this, hopefully he can help me out of it. [1d10]

Roll #1 2 = 2

I try to get up.

Roll #1 9 = 9

"You okay, Odette?"

Try to get up '1d10'
"A little hard to get out of here…"

Roll #1 1 = 1

"I'm fine. Thanks for helping me up, Cloudcaller."

I'll help pull Rhodan out. '1d10'
"Why didn't you just float down?"

Roll #1 2 = 2

Let's try to help up those who got stuck in the sand if they need it.

Roll #1 5 = 5

"I wasn't really expecting such a rush on the way down. It caught me by surprise."

I help Allegro.

"It's okay – my grandpa's got arthritis, too."

Roll #1 7 = 7

"Well, you sure got yourself stuck in there, didn't you?"
I'll continue futilely tugging on Rhodan.

"I didn't ask for this!"

Oddette, and Allegro are freed of the sand.
'2d10' perhaps Ebony and Spirit can give Rhodan the needed tug.
The thief stands by snickering at the scene.

Roll #1 2, 5 = 7

"Grandfather hm? I don't suppose he ever took a paddle to your behind for that mouth of yours? I just may have to in his stead."
I give him a grin

Help Ebony up '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

I hit the thief on the back of the head.
"Shut up, criminal."

"I'm not that heavy, am I?"

Try to get out. [1d10]

Roll #1 1 = 1

Combined with Khazard, and Alecrus.. that's enough. Rhodan is tugged free of the sand, which spray everywhere it seems.
He rubs the back of his head "Hey.."

I go stand/float behind Odette.

"Oh, right! The guy!"

I resume watching him.

"Thanks for that."

"Well, cut him some slack, it is kinda funny. I mean, what are the odds a bunch of seaponies fall down a hole?"
I'll spit out a bit of the sand.

"Where do we go now?"

I shrug.

"There is bein' only one path forward lady, where do you think?" The thief replies smartly

I'll swim over to the exit.
"No more traps from here on? Or are there more," I'll chuckle. "Pitfalls?"

"Can you send your double forwards again?"

"Well then, lead the way."

I snicker

I glare at him
"Then we'd best get moving."

"Of course. I'll hold the prisoner then."

Send Doppel ahead of the group.

Spirit and Ebony nod.
"Yea, don't worry about it."
"Its always my pleasure to assist you heroes."
"Well, there might be somethin' but its not too dangerous.." Thief replies and starts to swim with Alecrus and Doppel ganger but Rhodan grabs him and stops him.

The doppel speeds ahead of Alecrus, and they both are just barely visible.

you can see the floor change here, its now decorative tiles and has either a shell or a fish printed on the tile.

I swim up towards the double and have a look for traps, too.

Roll #1 3 = 3

And it does that for the whole floor? I'll examine it for a minute. Is there a pattern? '1d10'

Roll #1 6 = 6

"Don't do anything before you tell us. I'll hold you down, I can't vouch for the others."

"What is it? Even if its not dangerous you should tell us."

"What sort of somethin'?"

Give him a stern look '1d10'
"And what would this 'something' be?"

Roll #1 7 = 7

at first glance its difficult to pick out a pattern since they aren't alternating exactly. but looking closer you can see that the shell tiles make a connecting path, leading forward and left while the fish tiles seem to just take up space.
"yeesh, Its just little safety measure, likes a lock.. it won't kill ya."
you swim up ahead and to where the doppel is and stare suspiciously at the tiles. There are both fish and shell tiles.

"Hey, if you look at 'em close, the shell tiles make a path. Wonder if that's on purpose?"
That guy did mention something else on the way.
Time for science. I'll sink a little, and then poke one of the shell tiles.

I swim to where the others are.

"We're not taking any chances. Tell us and we can have Doppel take care of it."

"Fish… and… uh… shells…"

I look around some more. There's got to be something interesting up here otherwise that guy wouldn't be leading us here.

Roll #1 1 = 1

"Wait! Don't step on that… tile."
I'll sigh a few bubbles as he bumbles in.

Swim up with the others

"Our thief friend said there was a lock-like safety measure in here. See anything like that?"

""You should let us know about these things a little earlier rather than at the last moment."
I head on over to the others.

I look at Cloud to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid, but am probably too late to do anything.

"Well, I think the tiles are tied into something, but, well…"
I'll gesture to Cloudcaller.

the tile makes a small click as you press it down, but no apparent effects.
he grumbles as you drag him along.
no.. just a bunch of boring tiles, kinda makes you kind sleepy, you touch down on a fish tile to rest and hear a click, you hear the sound of rushing water.
"Uh.. okay, hows about I tell yous guys to grab hold of somethin' then!"

"What are you getting at?"

"What did you dooooo?"
"Grab a rock, or anything! I don't like that noise!"
Find a secure finhold! '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

to be clear you can all hear the sound of rushing water.

Roll #1 1, 5 = 6

You can't dig in fast enough and are pushed back to the previous room.
You are at the front of the pack when the current comes and starts to sweep you away.
You try to help Cloudcaller but he's moving too fast and you wind up swept away.
you manage to slow yourself but the child's bulk makes you a bigger target than you thought and you slip at the last minute.
you spot a rock and push cloudcaller behind it, at the sacrifice of you own safety and wind up swept into the previous room, precariously close to the sand trap.
neither of them can hunker down in time, and wind up swept back with the others, Ebony falls into the sand pit.
You summon a crystal to hide behind, and remain perfectly safe from the current.

Oh no!
"Ebony, hang on, I'll get you out!"
Pull her out of the sandpit. '1d10'

"Oh.. Thanks." She smiles at you as you help her out.
you are at the Orange X.

you regroup behind Khaz's crystal. The current seems to be settling down now. You are now the red at the red X.

"How do we get past the tiles? Can we swim over them?"

"I'll send Doppel ahead again to spot for us."

I'll smile back.
"Well, at least it's not deadly or anything! That could have been a lot worse. And I think I already figured it out, thanks to Cloudcaller hitting the fish switch."
Swim back to rejoin the others.

Look at Cloudcaller and chuckle
"You're the only kid I know that can cause trouble just by sitting down."
Ruffle his hair

"Well that wasn't too bad."

I inspect the tiles again. Which ones are trapped?

Roll #1 5 = 5

Once I rejoin the others, with Ebony in tow, I'll make my own findings known.
"I'm pretty sure I've figured it out!"

I grab you.
"Don't move near the tiles, Cloud."

the doppel shakes his head but swims off. "Alright."
Please roll to see if he finds anything useful.
"Yeah, thank goodness for that.."
you both catch up to the others.
Spirit seems to be in good humor about it at least. "This crab is pretty clever."

you know the one you sat is trapped. It was a fish

Spot checking.

Roll #1 10 = 10

I'll nod.
"Yep! Seems pretty simple, too! I take it you've all noticed the different tiles? Well, before Cloudcaller sat on the fish, I hit a shell tile. And nothing happened. Now, if you look closely, the shell tiles make a path all the way to the other side! That's our way across!"

"You did, what is it?"

I stop pressing on tiles.

"I see. Well wonderful! Let's get going then."

I move forward along the shell tiles.

"Are you sure? What if it changes, or it's some kind of pattern?"

"Then we just need to put up another thing to protect us from the current, like this thing!"
I'll tap the crystal Khazard put up.
And then I'll start moving across the shell tiles.
"Though, I do kind of wonder why there are so many pressure-sensitive traps underwater. Most seaponies could just swim over them."

"Wouldn't swimming over them cause enough of a…"
I flail my hooves around looking for the word.
"…Pressure! Wouldn't that cause a pressure difference and set off the tiles?"

"Maybe? I'm not good at this fish stuff."

I swim across the shell tiles.

"Maybe its a backup trap or something."
I head across the shell path

"Maybe they're traps meant for, like, crawly stuff. Like crabs and lobsters and sea slugs and stuff."

Turn back and beckon her
"Don't worry about the details love. Let's just get moving!"

File: 1377746056262.png (10.96 KB, 446x530, SecondFloor.png) ImgOps Google

He reports back that the direct path ahead after the tiles end has a large number of spikes stuck to the walls and indicates there is a large room with a sleeping lobster and a few treasure chests.
you take the shelled path, and find that once you make your way across all of them a wall opens up and the shelled path continues. As you follow you you can see ahead a large room, with treasure chests full of gold and sand dollars. There is a Lobster and a shrimp, both adorning a round hat with a curved rim. The Lobster is muttering something as he sleeps.
"we're taking over this sea see.."

"We found a shortcut, but it's good that we know that isn't a safe route after all, Doppel."

"Did anyone bring rubberbands for the lobster?"

"What are rubber bands?"

he nods. "yea, its tricky back there."

"Uh… I think I have some hair bands! Do those work?"
Are my hair bands strong enough?

Roll #1 9 = 9

Glance around the room. Anything we can use against them? Like rope or cloth that can be tied around them? '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

"Exactly what they sound like."

"They're like stretchy ropes you use to keep stuff together."

"I have no idea what you're talking about. What's rubber?"

"Cloudcaller. Take out that shrimp with one of your sleep arrows."

"Its…that's a stupid question."

"Stay focused. We have the element of surprise now."

"He's a bigger one. Is this rope enough? Doppel or I can hold the thief."

"Well excuse me for not knowing what weird surface-thing rubber is!"

Seems like a little bit of overkill to me, but I go for the ol' sleep arrow at the shrimp.

Roll #1 4 + 4 = 8

"They don't have rubber trees under the sea you know."

"Tie up the shrimp, quick!"

"Quick! Get your hair bands around the lobster's claws!"

"Good shot."

"I knew that."

Lobster seems too tired to care, but the thief tries to swim away and shouts "boss?!"
Rhodan should roll to stop him.

"That's not a stupid question Odette! I don't think they have rubber under the seas. I don't even think they can harvest it from… where do they harvest rubber from again?"

"On it!"
I try to restrain the lobster!

The thief is easily contained by the Rhodan, but the lobster finally wakes up and snaps away the ropes.
"Now sees here, no one ties up nobodies round here but me and my boys see."

The shrimp wakes up again and nervously hides behind the boss lobster.
you move the current in the party's favor, haste is in effect, everyone can move twice for the next two turns
no, just these two. but you do see the treasure, seems like a lot of stolen loot is hidden here.
you try a very brave tactic of tackling an angry lobster he snaps back at you too late and you knock him against the wall. "Hey, whats the big idea. You a tough guy? Are ya?"

Okay. '1d10+3' for homing magic, and use telekinesis to hold the lobster's claws shut. '1d10+1'

Roll #1 6 + 3 = 9 / Roll #2 3 + 1 = 4

I Cheap Shot him then use an inspiring dance. After that I set up a trap.

Roll #1 9 = 9 / Roll #2 3 + 2 = 5 / Roll #3 9 = 9

I try to Transfix the Lobster '1d10'
and let's try to see if I can make some crystal restraints on his claws '1d10'

Roll #1 7 = 7 / Roll #2 5 = 5

Dive in and Cheap Shot him!

Roll #1 10 = 10

I try two sleep shots on the lobster.

Roll #1 2 + 4 = 6 / Roll #2 5 + 4 = 9

Lightning bolt at the lobster to keep him from attacking Allegro. [1d10]
Cheapshot the thief to stop him from running away or fighting. [1d10]

Doppelganger goes all out attacking with my batons.
Dual: [2d10]
Dual: [2d10]

Roll #1 9 = 9 / Roll #2 7 = 7 / Roll #3 7, 5 = 12 / Roll #4 1, 2 = 3

Also I perform a regular attack against him as well!

Roll #1 7 = 7

"You haven't seen tough yet!"
Heroism '1d10'
Overconfidence + Suppress! Take him down!

Roll #1 7 = 7

that's three things

You said my special ability was to act twice in one turn with a three turn cooldown.

You summon 4 floating orbs of magical energy. You TK feels like its not quite holding him.
you deal a good deal of damage to the Lobster, and set up a sand spit pit trap, but no one seems to notice your dance.
You focus all your energy on keeping the lobster mind locked and don't have enough to summon another crystal, you can use you sting ray from earlier if you like.
You kick the lobster twice in the head with your front hooves, he seems very dazed.
Your lightining arches throu the water and strikes the lobster.
"Oh yea? Well.. I see two of ya nowses and I.."
he's cut off by your atheltic hoof to face maneuver and is suppressed by you. You look very heroic and courage pluses throu the party.
Lobster is suppressed +1 against him next turn.
Heroism Activated: for the next three turns not critical failures are successes

Lobster Mobster: pinned
[green] Shrimp: free [/green]
Thief: held

Thief shouts "Hey, boss, remember.. we're a family. Wes gots each others back."
Shrimp seems to grow a bit of a backbone at this and throws a gold coin toward the Lobster.

I get up in the shrimp's face and push him.
"Give up, criminal scum!"

Roll #1 3 = 3

That took a lot out of me so I just sit this turn out

I keep up Transfix on the Lobster '1d10'
And I'll have my sting ray try to wrap around him, making like a crystal straitjacket. '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4 / Roll #2 4 = 4

Time to lay a little waste here. Two orbs going for the shrimp, lightning. '1d10+1'
Two going for the Lobster, also lightning. '1d10+2'
And for my hasted action, I'll heal Allegro. '1d10+1'

Roll #1 2 + 1 = 3 / Roll #2 10 + 2 = 12 / Roll #3 5 + 1 = 6

There should be two more rolls there. '1d10+1' vs shrimp, '1d10+2' vs lobster.

Roll #1 2 + 1 = 3 / Roll #2 8 + 2 = 10

I swim over and give Allegro a quick, rewarding kiss and jump back into the fray!
I pull out my golden lyre and start performing an inspiring tune and dance to lift everyone's spirits!

Roll #1 8 + 1 = 9

'2d5' turns of lobster sleep.

Roll #1 3, 3 = 6

"Hey, no talking."
Cheapshot the thief, he stays quiet. [1d10]
Energy Orb against the Lobster. [1d10+1]

Dppelganger, go all out against that Lobster!
2 Dual Attacks.

Roll #1 1 = 1 / Roll #2 8 + 1 = 9 / Roll #3 1, 1 + 1 = 3 / Roll #4 8, 7 + 1 = 16

I protect Odette.

Actually, hold up, launching the orbs is an instant. Egads, I still have an action left. Net the shrimp. '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

This shrimp apparently isn't very timid and slaps you in the face with a fancy plate breaking it rather loudly.
you get some feed back in his mind about taking over and what a great gig being part of his mob is, its a rather distracting bunch of dance steps that prevent you from performing to your fullest with the crystal magic, but you do make a few crystals.
Your net is not small enough to trap the shrimp, who uses this time to wave his fins at the lobster making some of the cracks in his shell close. Half the orbs make their mark the others go haywire: one makes its way into a wall, and the other hits Doppel Rhodan full force.. sure is causing a lot of noise.
You heal Allegro successfully.
You feel full of energy and ready to go again.
The sea pony finally slips free from you, he swims carefully avoiding all incoming attacks.

You attack the Lobster full on and his shell ripples as your magic brush glows, seeming to intensify the hit.

the doppel has a good round of attacks and then in his eagerness doesn't see the stray magic orbs and gets completely fried by one. He vanishes "what.. no!"

Odette is protected.

I set u a trap.
"Do that again! I dare you!"

Roll #1 2 = 2

C'mon… keep up the fight!
Inspire everyone else!

Roll #1 7 + 1 = 8

Let's drop the Transfix and focus all on growing those crystals around him. [1d10]

Roll #1 4 = 4

Alrighty, everything's on cooldown, so I'll hold the Lobster in place with Telekinesis. '1d10+1'

Roll #1 6 + 1 = 7

Keep the shrimp down. Swing a hoof at him '1d10'

Roll #1 5 = 5

I marksman shot the shrimp while protecting Odette.

Give me like five minutes and I'll be back.

Roll #1 7 + 3 = 10

"Thanks, hotshot!"

You try to set up a trap with some of the shattered rocks in the corner but they don't want to stand up properly.
You perform an upbeat number using some sea shells to back you up.
Everyone has a +1 next turn
You concentrate, but its just not coming as easily to you as it did in the hallway.
There is no need since he is in deep sleep thanks to cloudcaller's arrows. But you tighten his shell a little doing some damage.
The shrimp dodges you, and the little imp sticks his tongue out as he does it.
You take your time and aim carefully, hitting the dodgy Shrimp and forcing his tail into the sand.
"Ah, see that hurts."

A lot of talking can be heard from the tunnel you came from, like a small crowd.
"Hey, what's you guys doing to Da Boss?" A greenish sea pony speaks up. He's followed by sounds of agreement "Yea, that's our Boss. Who are you?"

6 sea ponies swim into the room. They all look like teenagers, a bit rough around the edges.
The greenish seapony speaks up again "Let im' go.. cuz we need him' to take over stuff see!"
"Should be do the song?"
"I dunno Luo, the song ain't the same without the boss"
"But he'd want us to do it."
"Alright but make it quick."
They kids all line up and sing you a song about how great it is to be in da mob, and its very catchy.
In edition to your normal roll, roll an extra d10

"That's not a very good song…"
I sleep shot one of the singing ponies.

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10 / Roll #2 9 = 9

"Shut up, losers."
I keep trying to make that trap.

Roll #1 7 + 1 = 8 / Roll #2 6 = 6

"This is the best thing you guys thought of? Why not be performers instead?"
And I'll heal whomever needs it most. Probably Odette? '1d10+1'

Roll #1 5 + 1 = 6

And the second roll. '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

One last try, see if we can seal him up with crystal. [1d10+1]

Roll #1 9 + 1 = 10 / Roll #2 9 = 9

I chuckle and clap my hooves
"Lovely song! But not the best of intentions to go along with such a tune."

Counter sing with a song about how crime is bad.
secondary use of Inspire '1d10+2'

Roll #1 10 + 2 = 12

Second roll '1d10'

Roll #1 9 = 9

I join in with him in singing! '1d10+1'
And the second roll. '1d10'

Roll #1 2 + 1 = 3 / Roll #2 9 = 9

"Yea it is.." The seapony you tag says sleepishly and then lays down using a sea shell as a pillow.
'2d5' turns
You successfully drown out their cheering and make your trap, you even cover it up a bit of loose cloth.
You focus your magic on her, the various cuts and scrapes close with a glow of magic.
"Uh because yous guys don't know what ya are talking about."
Aha! you're finally getting the hang of it. you encase him in a crystal cage, you even put a little handle on top so he'll be easy to carry.
The shrimp looks distressed "Boss?!"
Your song is so catchy a few of the more enthusiastic kids start singing along with you.
You're terribly off key, but add to the song as best you can.
One of the seaponies picks up the dazed shrimp and attempts to shield him from your further assaults

the kids all look depressed "You really didn't like it?"
and then they see their boss locked up and knocked out.
"Uh.. maybe we should leave. these guys is too tough.."

Roll #1 5, 4 = 9

between the two rolls here its

Now that's it's finished cooling down, I'll use Homing Magic again. '1d10+5'
"You could always surrender."

Roll #1 2 + 5 = 7

"You could always go straight! Get out of crime and be a nice po- seapony!"
I try to give them a friendly smile.

And uh
Try to get the seapony off the shrimp and attack him! Don't harm the seapony though…

Roll #1 10 = 10

I use Terrify.
"You better stop or our sharkdogfishpony is going to take a bite out of you!"

Roll #1 5 = 5

I smile and bow
"See? Crime doesn't pay! Now I expect all of you to be home early tonight and ready for school in the morning.
Is the thief still around? Try to suppress him '1d10+2'

Roll #1 8 + 2 = 10

I, uh, shoot something.

Roll #1 4 + 4 = 8

You summon 2 swirling orbs of magic.
you bump the shrimp out of the seapony's hooves and push the shrimp down into the sand.
the sea pony looks surprised "Wha- hey?!" and then he falls into Odette's spiky trap when he tries to rescue the shrimp.
You shoot at one of the more rowdy kids.
They all suddenly notice Rhodan. "A SHARK-DOG?!?!" They all cower in fear
"is it gonna eat us!" "Please no!"
You snatch him up and hold him against the wall. "Hey.."

[encounter complete]

"That's right. You can all either get eaten or arrested. Your choice."
I fold my legs over my chest.

"Well, that about wraps this up! Now, where's the loot room? We've got to return everything you've taken."

I put my face close to his and smile wide.
"Hello. Going somewhere?"

"That was easy. All that's left is to round everything up then I assume?"

"Oh come on Odette! You don't need to be so hard on them… look at them! They're barely teenagers…"

"Alright.. we'll go with yous guys.."
"Just don't feed us to your shark-dog okay!"
The green one points to the corner where there are three chests. "Over there is all the recent stuff."
There are three chests flowing with sand dollars, golden objects, and a few gems. You can spot a sea-book in one of the chests.

"Yeah, yous guys got what yous wanted." The thief squirms slightly.
A few nod in agreement to this

Sea book? From the shop, maybe!
Swim over and check it out.

Let's try some more crystal magic and summon up a minion to help carry the chests. Maybe like a sea turtle or something. [1d10]

Roll #1 8 = 8

"Did we? Hey what were we doing here, anyways?"

"We came here to take down the mob boss and dismantle his criminal ring!"

"You're right. And you can come with us when we take it back."
Ease up on the thief, but still keep a hoof on him

"Oh, right!"

definitely from the shop. This is a book about a super hero, that models himself after a manta-ray. You flip the pages open and scenes pop to life of The Manta-Pony swimming from cave to cave under the shadows of the night. Its very amusing, and likely pretty expensive.
You summon a crystal sea turtle and mount a chest on his back. The turtle nods to you.
the thief frowns "Why did yous have to break up the gang like this.."
he sighs "and I'm called Mark. or Sharp Mark. cus I ain't never been caught.. least til yous guys came along."

Well, that's what I came for!
Don't know what to do with the other chests, though…
"So, how exactly are we going to get these guys back to the dungeon in time to go after that giant squid?"

"I'm sorry Mark. It's better this way, trust me. Besides, didn't you hear the song?"

"What time is it now? You think we can hurry back and make it?"

I try to lift up one of the other chests with telekinesis to carry it. [1d10]
"We should have enough time, we didn't take too long here."

Roll #1 8 = 8

I frown.
"Because crime's bad! You shouldn't got into it in the first place."

"Can't you call another turtle to bring them all back?"

I see this and try to carry the last one on my back '1d10'

Roll #1 3 = 3

I'll shrug.
"We should hurry, though."

"Smart ponies."

"Are we ready to go?"

I check my gear and nod.

"Yea, I heard ya.." Mark looks depressed.
you get the feeling that it is in fact plenty early.
>Quest item: Stolen loot: collected 3/3
You haul the chests back to the city, the urchins follow you mostly out of fear, and you also grab the mobster lobster and the shrimp.. but mark still needs a bit of prodding. You bring them around to the guard's tower.
The guard on duty looks surprised "Are these the thieves from the caves? I didn't know they would all be so young."

"Yeah, that's all of them. Who knows why they decided to throw their lives away like that."

"It was probably the Lobster who was filling their heads with flotsam. The boys have a decent set of pipes, though, so maybe they should shoo be doing or something with the rest of the performer circuit?"

Nudge Mark
"Is it really that bad? You know we couldn't leave anyone who plans on taking over the sea alone to their own plans."

"That they do! I bet they can make quite a bit of wealth using that talent of theirs."

"If they've got such good pipes, maybe they could go into plumbing."

I give her a look.
"Probably because they didn't have anything better in their future…"
I lean in to the guard and whisper to him.
"Do you think you might be able to go easy on them?… Maybe give them community service instead of imprisonment? They're still so young…"

"That sounds like a good idea."

"Well, we'll take care of things from here. I suppose you want a reward? The city folk pooled some sea dollars together in an effort to get someone to help. You can take this if you want to claim it. Seems like you earned it."
He offers you a ticket of some kind and motions to other guards who take in the grumbling thieves.
He says overly loudly "I'm sorry, but the law is is the law, I can't make exceptions!"
you see a few of the boys panic.
"Don't worry I'll have them spend the night in jail cell, that ought to set em' straight, and then I can put em' to work somewhere, or find their homes. "

I'll take the ticket.
"Alright, now that they're in the law's fins, I can go return this book that was stolen. I'll meet you guys back at the castle, yeah?"

Sounds like a plan."
I take the ticket.

I'll take a ticket as well and give the law officer a wink.
"Thank you."

"Alright! Be back quick though, we gotta take down that squid next!"

I chuckle at the officer then look back at the others and whisper.
"Should we? I don't imagine underwater currency to be much use to us once we leave."

And I'm off, swift as the tides. To the bookshop to return the stolen book.

Never mind then!
"Such a busy day today!"

"Maybe we can buy some weapons or something?"

You arrive there swiftly indeed. The stripy shop keeper seems pleased to see you "Alecrus! Come back to buy another book already? I have a a new book about sea serpents." He notices the book in your hoof "Is that an action novel? Looks like one I lost to those scoundrels."
He nods at you.
"Don't mention it."
"And thanks for all your help."
He smiles at you.

"That's because it is! Surprise."

"My, My. How did you ever retrieve it from them? " He's clearly impressed, a rare emotion for this shop keeper. "You have my thanks Alecrus."

"We have the ticket, so why not cash it in?"

"Well, I had a bit of help. You remember those seaponies we ran into while chasing the thief we did catch? Turns out they're adventurers, and we went on an adventure to get it back, as well as break up the whole gang."
I'll be grinning from ear to ear.
"Real adventurers! And we're heading out to deal with a giant squid, too."

"Sounds like a plan. Uh, where did he say to take it?"

"I… don't think he mentioned where. Maybe it's on the ticket?"

"You just hand it to the jeweler, Fluorite, she's keeping the money since she has the best locks out of all the merchants.."

the address is on the ticket.

note: it is the same jeweler shop that sold you those pearls.

"Oh. Thanks."
I swim off to Fluorite.

"Thank you!"

I follow

you arrive to a well constructed shop and an elegant looking seapony calls out to you. "Welcome, how can I help you today? Looking for a present? Maybe something for yourself?"

Well we can say she gave you all the reward, if you want, a bag full of coins. I've got to pause for now

I give a small bow
"I understand you're the one keeping the reward put together for taking care of some thieving ruffians?"

Ah well. Thanks for running!
