After a few more moments to calm down, you stand up and address Chronicle. You apologize for what had happened, and begin to explain everything: the voices, the headaches, the bodies on the spire.

"Renne, I would have to be as brain-dead as Chance not to see that you're affected by this place more than Saffron or I. I've noticed your reactions to certain areas and certain things. However, I don't think that we have anything to fear. Are the voices that you hear numbering in the thousands? Or would you describe your headaches as "soul-splitting?""

You shake your head. No, not anymore. The only time you heard that many voices was on the boat, and it never happened again. Your headaches have been bad, but not to the point where it feels like it's hurting your very essence.

"Then I do not think that you suffer from Chance's... ailment. And before you ask, yes, I do trust both you and Saffron, and not merely out of necessity. I truly am lucky."

You sigh at Chronicle's comment. Hearing it is nice, both the suggestion that you aren't going to turn into a monster, and the fact that Chronicle trusts you. You take one look back at the room, and your head fogs up slightly. Off in the distance, you can hear what sounds like pained and desperate whispers. You shake it off and decide to leave the room behind.

You find yourselves at the top of the stairs leading down to where Chance has gone. You listen closely, but do not hear any signs of movement or otherwise, and proceed down slowly.

You are now outside of the gear room. There is a door to the north leading to the gear room, one to the east with a soft orange glow, and one to the south-west leading to a dark hallway. Chance's blood trail leads him to the gear room, but he seems to have stopped bleeding since then, the trail not leading to any specific room.

You peek your heads into the room. There is a faint rumbling coming down from below, and the room is warm. Although, it is about as warm as the spire room was a level up, strangely, and the heat emanating from the central hole in the room isn't quite as strong as before. You can see the spire is connected to the wall by chains, with that bronze band circling the spire itself. There is a doorway to the north with a stairwell that goes down.

Before heading any further down, you decide to explore the remainder of this level. You head into the hallway, entirely dark save for your torch. There is no sound to be heard anywhere, so you're safe for now. From the dim light, you can determine that there is a doorway leading to another room to the far west of the hallway.

Chronicle is talking to no-one in particular. Saffron looks at it with a frown on her face. She silently raises her gauntlet to the bronze disc to compare, and the fine engravings in each are a perfect match.

I'm thinking that was a power that was limited to a short amount of time after the gem was slotted. Saffron might not have control over when or if that happens again. And he still towers over her in an open room.

I might be wrong, but I think Saffron said she felt "back to normal" after her little episode, which I took to mean "no more super strength"

You light the torches then proceed cautiously into the room, Chronicle being the lookout at the doorway as you enter. Saffron tells you that she can feel her left arm tingling as soon as you enter the room. From what little light the torch offers, you can see something glimmering in the alcove, something shiny.

That is most likely another piece of armor. Possibly a leg piece..

You tell Saffron to stay where she is, that you're going to investigate things further. You walk slowly forward, making sure to check the floor and walls for traps and markings. On the left side of the alcove, on the large stone block, you find a set of engravings.

You ask Saffron how she's doing, and she says that her arm has just been tingling this entire time, as if it fell asleep, and nothing more. You use a bit more magic to try and lift the gauntlet out, twisting and turning, trying to move it in any direction possible, but none of it works. It remains in place, still as stone.

Well, the inscription calls for two things.

Assuming those two requirements have to be met before this piece will move, I don't think this room has any more importance for now.

Closing the door on the way out is a good idea.

You tell Saffron that you were unable to move the gauntlet with your magic, and don't want to subject her to any more things than she has to endure. The both of you walk out of the room and Saffron jumps up, grabbing hold of the door and pulling it back down into place with an enormous thud. There is a loud clunking noise, and the bronze disc turns itself back to its original position.

It actually does have two frames, but I can't see any difference between them besides the slight and sudden jolt you can see if you open the image.

Meadow wasn't torn in two, just disemboweled a bit. You can see two sets of hooves on this body.

The overwhelming smell may suggest the body has been dead for longer than the others we've come across. The writing is like what we saw before, but the wording seems to suggest that this person sacrificed themselves. We don't know if it was actually chance making those inscriptions.

I messed with contrast but I completely neglected brightness. I had a gut feeling there should be something there but I ignored it and wrote it off since the frame shift was so tiny. Should've known LK does everything for a reason and kept looking. I kind of feel like a jackass now. That number could have been completely missed without that anon.
