It is chipped to form the blade; rough, but insanely sharp. There is a perfectly cut ruby at the end of the dagger, and the handle is some dark metal that you don't recognize, gilded with fancy designs.

With a few pokes, some telekinesis and a few more pokes, you find that the dagger is remarkably uninteresting. Or at least as uninteresting as a gilded obsidian blade can be. The gilt on the handle is just fancy, swirly designs. No writing or patterns, from what you can tell.

Getting a closer look, you can see that the throne is made from a different type of stone, one you have not seen anywhere else in the temple. The spikes sticking from the back are all carved from the same piece of stone as well. It is decorated with thin metal strips that look like gold.

We need to tell Saffron what's we think is going on while we keep looking the room for clues.I was fooled. That spirit that said he'd help us escape has betrayed us and taken over Chronicle's body somehow. The whole temple's some sort of giant robot, like the golems but unbelievably massive and he's taken control of it.I don't know what he plans to do with it, but given what he's done, I... I think we need to try to stop him.
So would this room be the Heart?

You decide to check back by Baldwin's body, making sure to keep yourself open to any possible connections. You stand near his skull, and do your best to relax, trying to find something. After a minute, you sigh, no connection presenting itself.

You can't seem to keep your thoughts straight. Saffron looks at you, worriedly."Renne... are you alright?"

You shake your head to clear your thoughts and tell Saffron that yes, you're doing fine. You ask her if she could hoist you up to take a look at the thing at the top of the throne. She nods, wagging her tail, and picks you up gently. She lifts you and holds you closer to the throne, wary of the spikes. As you get closer, you start to feel clammy. You can tell that it looks to be an exact replica of the dagger that was in his head. Your throat goes dry, and a buzzing sort of headache begins to form.

You try to grasp the dagger with your telekinesis, but you hear a snap and a sizzling noise. There is a flash, and the buzzing headache starts to get a little stronger.
You stand back, and ask for Saffron to set you down. You tell her you're going to try and force yourself into the spirit plane. You concentrate, and you can feel the sweat pouring down your face, stinging your eyes. You cough a few times before you catch your breath, though you remain winded. When you look up, the glow is almost blinding.
Lets just stick the dagger into the hole.
