As is tradition, let us start with our quick summary before we begin tonight's adventure. I have a good feeling about tonight:

Last Time on My Little Raisin...

>Arrive at Canterlot Castle; keep an eye on a box which you believe contains the Adanemzurai
>Hear an old pone arguing with the guards about taking the chest into the Archives without paperwork
>Meet Princess Celestia, she tells you that you've been cursed and must stay under guard
>xXx Use metagaming knowledge to tell Celestia that Twilight is under the influence of Siren Sand xXx
>**Talk around your question, assure her that Twilight told you about it along with Sally**
>Escorted up to a private suite, locked into room with Sweetie Belle
>**(Successful Roll) Convince Sweetie Belle that you are not cursed; get her to go along with your escape idea**
>Search the room, find some Dresses, Fancy Horseshoes, a Glass Jar, some Parchment, Quills, and String
>Equip Dresses and restyle mane; Disguised
>Tie bedsheets together into a long rope
>Escape from Private Suite by tricking guard into thinking Raisin had locked herself in the bathroom; snuck passed him
>xXx Guard saw Sweetie’s disguise xXx
>Sneak out, realize that you do not have the key to lock the door; hurry down stairs and hide in alcove
(Continued)
>> FaceIessJr !derpv/fTOE 03/18/12(Sun)22:35 No.679215
>>679192
>Pegasus guard flies on passed you, reports your ‘escape’ to Princess Celestia
>**Correctly navigate back to main hallways**
>--Stumble into Rich Couple of unicorns; chatter with them, told them that you are Lady Velvet and Lord Tackweld’s daughter—
>(Successful Roll) Guard attempted to arrest Sweetie Belle; Rich Stallion stamped got in the way and told the guard off
>Travel toward the docks, see the White Chest
>Mention that the box is pretty; would like to have. Rich Stallion asks if he can buy it
>(Successful Roll) One of the guards recognize you. Rich Stallion is able to bail you out, still under the impression that you are Lady Velvet’s kid
>Rich Couple runs off to airship; tells you that you are welcome aboard anytime

Standing outside of the Canterlot air docks, Raisin (also known as Amethyst) and her friend Sweetie Belle (Writesalot) don a clever set of disguises that have, for the most part, thrown off the guards’ discovery of their true identities. Having successfully intimidated one of the Royal Guards by playing up their false identity, Raisin now contemplates her next move with care. Knowing that time is running out, she hopes to escape the castle before her cover is completely blown.

Alright, questers. Again, you have been given the opportunity to guide our little dried grape pony along her quest to potentially save Equestria from an invasion of living statues. Do well and this may be your final night. Do poorly… and this may be your final night.

Good luck, Raisin Questers. May the dice be with you.

First we would need to have a reason to be pointing them out, so I guess ask about the filly the guard thought we were, then mention that you saw someponies off in thataway that looked kindof like us. You know, if you removed all the high breeding and sophistication of course.

And it will need to be urgent enough to get both of them running off, without stopping to think.

You watch as the pair of guards turn back around to convince the older pony that this dangerous White Chest needs to be moved to the Archives immediately. Subtly, you turn your head just enough to give Sweetie Belle a sly glance. Immediately, she seems to have an idea as to what you're planning. She looks hesitant, but doesn't protest.

"Excuse me, gentleponies..."

The one guard that previously accused you of being Raisin droops his head as he turns to face you. "...y..yes?"

"Pardon me, but did you say that you were looking for some fillies?"

The guard looks about. "...yes, the entire castle is currently on alert for two fillies... which..." He pauses. "Again, I'm really sorry I confused you with her..."

"Raisin, was it? Purple coat, purple hair? Dirty mud pony?"

The guard nods to each descriptor.

"Why, as a matter of fact, me and my friend did see a pair of fillies down in the... East Wing... on our way up from mother's suite..." You pause for a moment, feigning a sense of wonderment. "...could they have been...?"

The guard looks very interested now. "You saw other fillies... like yourselves... in the East Wing? How long ago? Did you see where they were heade-"

The other guard turns around quick. "Go check it out, Thunder. I'll figure out this blasted paperwork."

The hapless pegasus bolts off down the hallway, making a right and zooming out of view. The other guard stands steadfast by the chest, still receiving a lecture from the old pony.

"Good thinking, Raisin!" Sweetie Belle laughs nervously around the rim of the Glass Jar.

Maybe we can convince them to let us "help"?

Ask what the problem is, anyway, and why everyone is just standing around doing nothing when obviously everyone elses shit is flipping all over the place.

Maybe we can offer to be a runner for some paperwork or something, as we're bored and not expected back for tea until 4 or something sufficiently classy.

If he's got decent glasses his eyesight is as good as anyones, if we want to make use of his vision we'll need to break them.

Right now, what seems like the best idea to me, but I;m not ready to suggest it yet.

Ask if there is anything you can do to help.
You don't want to be helpful or anything, you're just bored. Can you go get whatever paper they want or something?
If we can write well enough to make a decent forgery, tell Sweetie to "accidentally" break his glasses while we're gone. Ask to see them then trip or something, she's good at breaking shit.

Leave their sight and get to a decently hidden place close by, we don't want to get caught alone by other guards who might recognise us and write a note for whatever we want the box to do.

Bring it back and hand it to him after and appropriate amount of time has passed and hope he believes it.

You notice that the other guard still seems to be lingering by the White Chest. Quickly, not to lose a moment, you clear your throat quick and continue. "Excuse me, sir?"

The guard let's out a sigh, but turns his head. The old pony continues his rant about procedure, chastising the guard in between every other sentence. "Yes?"

"Darling, you seem to be a bit held up by this... charming gentlemen... for getting this lovely, wonderful... beautiful... dazzling..." You trail off for a second. "...White Chest moved into the Royal Archives. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

The guard casts you a suspicious glance. "Without the right paperwork... which I have right here..."

The old pony pipes up. "This is NOT the right paperwork! Form A is not at all used for entering artifacts into the Closed Archives! Form 25-D is used for these entries! I told you this several times before you left!" The pony fumes as the guard simply ignores him.

"Anyways, I've got the forms I need right here. I'm just waiting for ol' Archæus to give it up and take the darned chest into the archives already."

You rub your chin. "Perhaps, sir... if I may be so bold as to propose this idea... perhaps you should give him the forms he's actually requesting of you?"

The guard glowers at you. "Look, kid. I'm already getting nagged in this ear..." He stops for a moment as if a sudden idea came to mind. "Hey, actually... you can help."

"Anything to make this old dud drop his dentures for a few minutes... he's really getting on my nerves." The stressed guard stands firm by the White Chest, waiting for the archives pony to give up his demand for the appropriate paperwork.

Sweetie Belle looks at you, a little nervous. You calm her down. "Writesalot, I order you to stay here and help however you can..." You slink up close to Sweetie Belle. "...break his glasses for me, would ya?"

Sweetie nods, the Glass Jar still in her mouth.

You can here him from a distance. "Keep your eyes open for that purple filly. Our latest report says she was spotted down here very recently; she can't have gone far!"

You decide that getting the legitimate forms is not worth the risk. Forging a fake one should do fine, you figure, especially after that old pony loses his glasses.

You trot on down the hall, carrying your nose high up in the air. You pass a pair of guards that give you a double take. You hear one of them speaking to his buddy. "No, that's not her. Did you see her mane?"

As you come back to the main hallway, you decide to duck by a column quick. Quickly, you sprawl out a piece of parchment and jot down what you think to be official looking form letters and documentation. Once finished, you roll it up quick and carry it in your mouth toward the guard and the angry old pony.

"My glasses! Where are my glasses?!" Archæus rants and fumes as he squints around. "Writesalot! WHERE ARE THEY!?"

Off to the side, you see Sweetie looking as innocent as possible. "I'm dreadfully sorry... but... I misplaced them. Forgive me, please..."

The guard doesn't seem to be doing anything to help find them. He looks at you with a grin. "Ah, if it isn't my helper now!" He reaches down, plucking the document from your mouth. Nervously, you give him a little smile. He looks to the old pony, then rolls his eyes. "And with such official looking documentation, too. Here, now take the darned thing."

Archæus stamps his hooves on the White Chest. "Why didn't you stop her?! You KNOW I can't see without them! Where are they?!"

The Pegasus Guard pretends not to hear anything. "What's that? Oh, I'm sorry, Archæus, but I think one of the guards just captured our intruder. I must go." He starts walking off, giving you a nod. He whispers, "thanks, kid. Good thinking." As he's nearly halfway down the hall, he cocks his head back over his shoulder. "Get that chest into the Archives, pronto. It's extremely important that you do!"

Fuming, Archæus mumbles and murmurs to himself. If he had real teeth, he'd be gritting them right now. He doesn't seem to see you. Sweetie Belle walks up to you and whispers in your ear, "I snatched them quick and tossed them out of the door.. it was REALLY hard getting them..." Her mane is a bit roughed up.

As you bask in the proximity of the White Chest, a sense of overwhelming peace washes over your small, filly body. The world around you wanes a little as a small, rectangular aura permeates the Chest before you.

"Excuse me, sir, we ca-"

As you begin to speak, the old pony slams the top of the White Chest with his hooves. "YOU! Where are they? I know you took them!" He swipes through the air, nearly punching you in the face. "Give them back you pale little monster!" You back away a bit, but the old pony seems to be incredibly angry. Sweetie Belle backs out of the doorway onto the airdocks.

Archæus continues to sweep his hooves in your direction, batting around wildly. "Guards! Guards, this little devil stole my glasses!"

You get a safe distance away from the advancing pony. "Hey, we didn't take your glasses! You knocked them over into the other room with your crazy flailing!"

He continues to advance toward you, swinging his forelegs around. "I saw you take them off my face you little brat!" You sidestep him as he continues to walk down the hallway. The guards from the balcony peek in, look around, then get back to their post.

Archæus rants and raves about how much trouble you're going to be in when he catches you. As he advances closer to the Throne Room doors, you turn your head toward your prize. The White Chest is now before you, unguarded, unprotected. You know that there are guards right on the outside of the door, but their backs are turned towards you. A temptation draws you toward the Chest, beckoning you for your touch.

Up for answering a couple questions if this is it for tonight?

I'm curious where we had dice rolls today. Things got done, obviously, but nothing that seemed like it had all that much danger of failing.
Was there any chance of something going wrong with the forged note or anything?

Let's see how I feel tomorrow night. I may even pick it up tomorrow. I don't know at the moment; I'll drop something in Steam Chat if I do.

>>684177
Sure, I can do a few questions.

The dangerous rolls were mostly avoided. There was one option you had of using your influence with Thunder to try and get a 'peek' inside the chest, which you could have went and grabbed the Adanemzurai off the bat. Both of these actions had odd rolls; 1/2 of convincing him for a peek/getting the other guard to go with it, then a 1/4 chance of nabbing the Adanemzurai before getting caught.

The sneak room had a 1/2 chance of getting nabbed. The intricate door did in fact belong to the Record Keeper. Going through that room and failing would have sealed your fate.

The forged letter could have even have been a blank piece of parchment. Anything would have been fine; without his glasses, Archæus is almost completely blind.

Also, asking the guard for directions would have landed you in jail almost guaranteed; you supposedly came from the East Wing and it would have been impossible to miss the Record Keeper's quarters.

Anything else you guys were curious on?

I like that we seem to be getting better at spotting danger, it bodes well for little Raisin.

If you would have sent Sweetie Belle into the Throne Room to acquire Celestia's signature, the Matriarch herself would have come back out to accompany her straight to your position. Why on Earth would Sweetie Belle waltz in from her locked up tower room and then ask Celestia for an autograph?

You guys had my heart racing for a bit there.

Me too. It's just that everything looks so terrible in comparison that drives people to make these decisions.

But, we usually end up making the right one. Usually.
