The Commodore has gathered the raiding party in his quarters.

"Taking Ichi won't be easy. The assault will go through three main phases – a blockade phase, a landing phase, and a seizure phase. Since arriving outside Ichi our intelligence has improved considerably thanks in no small part to our fleet diplomat, some personal scrying, and the scouts employed by Awa. I've made a note that we need to help repair our intelligence corps when we get our payday. We know that Ichi is currently employing a blockade that is preventing us from getting into port: this means that we'll need to use the same blockade-buster tactics that we used before. Instead of our old tactic with the Sirocco at a more open location, though, we need the heavier armor of the Seaworthy, making it the better choice. It will be up to the cannon command of Emrille, September, and Marsh to remove the enemy support frigates while the Seaworthy busts through – though it will probably have to deal with some boarding. This phase will end when you make landfall, at which point Face will relieve Light Heart and our assault team will be dropped off to push into the heart of Ichi. I have some maps for you to look at for the landing phase, so are there any questions about the blockade phase?"

562946

>>562945
"How many ships have been sighted so far?"

562947

>>562945
I looked at the map.
"So the seaworthy will smash the enemy lines right? That sounds about right." I grin.

562948

>>562945
Smirk.
"I'm all for shooting down those frigates. Show me those maps, where do we need to go once we land?"

562949

>>562945
"I see. What will the Sirocco's position during all this be?"

562950

>>562945
"Boarding parties huh? I'll be sure to get my swords ready. Any big ships on the enemy side?"

562951

>>562946
"We don't have a final count, but there may be as many as twenty frigates. Breaking through without being sunk is the main objective, though. Once you're inside the remaining clean-up will be a struggle to be sure, but successful seizure of the city's cannons at the end of the landing phase will either force a retreat or guarantee a naval victory."

>>562949
"I suspect the naval leader here in Ichi is shrewder than the one in Uraurafutsu. The Sirocco will be under the command of its captain, Marsh, leading the fire team which will support the Darklantern against close-range foes so that it can focus its main guns on cleaning up ships chasing the Seaworthy."

>>562950
"The majority of the enemy fleet are medium-sized frigates designed for maneuverability. We suspect they have a flagship hidden somewhere, but it's not clear where."

Are those all the questions regarding the landing phase?

562952

>>562951
blockade phase**

562953

>>562951
Here too

562954

>>562951
"And… I am to stay on the Sirocco too? Or to help deter boarding parties on the Seaworthy?"

562955

>>562951
"Don't worry your head, I'll support the Darklantern plenty."

562956

>>562951
Knowledge check about neighponese flagships to see if I could identify one.
'1d10'

Roll #1 2 = 2

562957

>>562954
"I will be placing you in command of the Seaworthy, given you have experience with breaking blockades. Mister Face will relieve you once you make landfall, given that we're going to need some luck to get it to pull back in time."

562958

>>562956
A flagship would be identifiably larger than the other frigates.

562959

>>562951
"I'll be here. What do I need to do?"

562960

>>562957
"Very well. Let us hope the wind is in our favor again."

562961

>>562951
"Well crap… Let's hope it's not some kind of gigantic monstrosity with two hundred cannons."

562962

>>562958
>>562961
Yes, but…
"Let's go about this rationally.
If they lose their flagship, their commanding hierarchy is gone.
But they have support from Ichi's cannons.
If I were leading this defense, my ship would either be unsinkable, or just another frigate.
To confund my enemies.
Sure, the commander might just be ashore, though."

562963

>>562962
"That seems rather unlikely, given that there must be somepony leading the blockade. Giving orders from the shore could be problematic during battle."

562964

>>562963
"Then, I would suggest keeping our eyes peeled to their signal network.
I sense deception."

562965

>>562964
"Of course. The flagship is not called the flagship for no reason. Using flags to communicate makes it quite obvious."

"With the Raid."

>>562961
>>562960
>>562948
>>562947
>>562962
"Tactically, taking Ichi with an army by sea is a logistical nightmare, and taking it by land is a near impossibility due to the geography. The narrow boulevards make it easy to rain down cannonfire on anyone charging up the streets and the buildings could easily house troops. This large circular building on the map is a weakpoint we've identified. It's a tower that has safe access up to the cannon level and left open because it's used for filtering troops. Most usefully, though, it would be easy to barricade ourselves inside. The Raiding Party should proceed here and use one of my Darkstones to create a portal. At this point our support staff – myself, Scarab, Emrille, Diamond Luck – can join the raiding group once cannons in the harbor have been dealt with so that the Darklantern can stop moving for a portal. This landing phase will be difficult – taking cannonfire can knock you off your feet, and I suspect that going down will be deadly here. If an ally goes down they should be helped up immediately without waiting for the next turn. Side streets may be used to switch between streets if you figure out the pattern of their cannon fire, but we haven't been able to determine one yet."

"Any questions about this phase before I continue to the seizure phase?"

562967

>>562966
"So until the portal is set, I'll be here, providing cannon support of my own. How will we know they have their part of the portal set up?"

562968

>>562967
>>562966
Smirk.
"Emrille, do you feel up to a sniping challenge?
You could come with us and try to hit our enemies as the are about to fire, blowing up the cannons as they load their ammunitions."

562969

>>562966
"Hmmm… no. That is going to be quite the charge."

562970

>>562967
"Because I can't create a mobile portal, meaning the Darklantern needs to be able to come to a stop, meaning naval victory must be assured. That only happens one way – after enemy cannons are disabled. Our own troops will seize them as they cross over with the portal. The end of cannonfire will be the signal."

562971

>>562968
"I can just blow them up with my cannons!"

>>562970
Nod.
"Gotcha."

562972

>>562966
What are those red crosses?

562973

>>562972
Cannon placements

562974

>>562971
"If you say so."

562975

>>562973
Gotcha.

562976

>>562973
"What about going through the housings?"

562977

"The final phase of the assault will be the Seizure Phase. Beyond the cannon placements lays the keep of Ichi, a rather squat military fortress as opposed to the ornate castles of Awa and Takikaga. Expect traps and other resistance. If you can place the Awa flag at the top of the castle and defeat the Keep Commander, the morale of the enemy will break and likely signal retreat. Any questions about the Seizure Phase before I continue on to the final notes?"

>>562976
"We know at least some of them are housing traps and additional soldiers. I would only attempt to enter if you're completely out of options, but it's certainly available to you. Strategically there's no benefit from entering as compared to just sitting in the alleyways between main streets. Remember that the longer you're out there is that much longer our smaller fleet has to fight theirs AND deals with enemy cannonfire from the harbor."

562978

>>562977
"I suppose we can't just fly up and place it there. Or teleport it up top and shoot anyone who tries to take it down?"

562979

>>562977
"Do we know anything about the commander at all?"

562980

>>562977
"This is going to be quite the siege. Is there any word from those remaining two assassins?"

562981

>>562978
"Excellent question. As I noted only in passing before, Ichi has developed some sort of anti-flying cannon. Explosions in the air. Scouts were shot down almost immediately. These antiair cannons originated from the keep, seizure will be required before flying is safe. As for teleportation, it may be an option, but with the Keep Commander alive, the enemy will still be receiving orders."

>>562979
"The Kokujin of Ichi is serving as the Keep Commander. As a samurai, he is probably heavily armored and skilled with a blade. As a noble, he probably commands a personal guard as well – eliminating his support will make it easier to deal with him."

>>562980
"That would be part of my final notes. Reaching Spear and Serene Waterfall have been spotted at a calligraphy school inside the city. They will probably not aid the defense unless you specifically target the school for reasons that the Awa representative was reluctant to elaborate upon. In any case, Awa has only to lose from leading us astray on this matter, so I trust their judgment as having more experience with these two assassins. Once the city has been seized, we could investigate the school if we elect to."

562982

>>562981
I nod.
"That's useful to know."
Smirk.
"And yeah, they will, but the dumber part of their army will flee nevertheless."

562983

>>562981
"Very well. I understand."

562984

>>562982
"Use your judgment. Remember not to fly up above the rooftops during the landing phase by reflex."

562985

>>562981
"Right. This is gonna be real messy."

562986

>>562984
"You said I'll join the rest once the cannons stopped and we have the portal."

562987

>>562986
"That was more directed at Selena and Miss Heart."

562988

562989

>>562987
"Oh, right."

562990

>>562987
"Do we have a basic count of enemy units on land?"

562991

>>562990
"Lack of air scouting and inability to hire ninja clans in the area has made such fine details almost impossible to ascertain. To make matters worse, the enemy is almost certainly employing ninja of their own."

>>562988
>>562989
>>562985

Abilio's briefing echos in your ears:

"I understand. We will do our very best."

Yep!

>>564053
The Grand Keep of Ichi is a stronghold of two ages intertwined. The first few levels are an Equestria-style brick-and-mortar heavily fortified castle, and the top levels are a beautifully decorated Neighponese-style keep. A magic bubble protects this half of the building, and artillery extend out of the lower half.

564069

>>564067
What would the best way to enter be? Maybe through the cannon holes?

564070

The eastern side of the castle sports a smaller service entrance. The western face has a large water feature that flows out of the castle – accessible to a smaller pony like Manako.

They are made of basalt.

>>564076
You notice several sort of magical conductors made of Kobold Iron behind the shield in the decorative portion – only a master engineer like you would be able to recognize the metal, and it's an amazing feat to do so from such a great distance. If you can infiltrate the castle up to the top levels, you can disable these conductors to lower the shield.

New optional objective:
+Lower the shield to gain artillery support

564080

"But once we took down that shield, our ships will be able to blast this castle to smittheerins. Perhaps they would surrender once the cannons fly."

564093

"We can arrange that once we finish this first privateering work of the fleet, and dont worry about the expense for I will pay for it. Say why do you need a mind doctor?"

565673

There are always menials around. The Sirocco is considered to be a light crew vessel because it only needs one hundred menials to run at full capacity, in part because of the general lack of cannons and efficient bilging system. The vast, vast majority of these menials are sailors to maintain its extreme abundance of sails, but many do part time duty shifts as bilgers or swabbies. The corps of engineering on this vessel is headed by Ciddir.

Look between the two.
"Whoa. Whoa, what the fuck? How are you there and there at the same time?!"

565728

>>565724
"Howdy."

>>565725
You have Ciddir stuff to finish.

>>565726
"Heartless benefit! Heartless benefit!"

She stamps out a rhythm to her chant. Tap tap tap-tap-tap!

"Yeah, yer colluding with rebels!"

>>565727
Wimp just nervously watches from his post.

Magic Bullet gives you a sly grin. "I thought I explained this already. I told you I got RID of those emotions holding me back. What you think I just killed them off? I don't even have the capacity for sadism anymore. I gave up that feeling to Anger."

565729

>>565723
Knock again.

565730

>>565728
"Hello, Doctor Diamond. How are you today?"

565731

>>565729
No answer! Could no one be inside?

565732

>>565730
"Would it be too much of a stereotype to say 'aces'?"

565733

>>565728
Alright. So, I suppose we're back in his room?

565734

>>565728
I chuckle.
"I would not dare."

565735

>>565728
"How the fuck do you rip yourself into three?!"

565736

>>565734
"She is! She's with me!"

"I knew it!"

>>565733
Your room now.

Ciddir follows you submissively.

>>565735
"I assumed magic was the obvious answer."

565737

>>565732
I laugh.
"Not at all. Anything special happened to make this day so good?"

565738

>>565736
"And who helped you with this?"

565739

>>565737
"Oh, not really. But people don't really get it if you say 'sevens'. I guess 'deuces' might make sense…"

>>565738
"Helped? I didn't need any help with this."

565740

>>565736
"Very well, I admit my turncoating."
I shake my head and pick up Grey.
"Perhaps I can make it up to you by turning over the triple agent?"

565741

>>565739
Snort.
"Of course you did. A loser like you were couldn't pull a stunt like this alone."

565742

>>565739
"Eh, aces sounds good enough to me. Deuces might be a bit too out there."

565743

>>565731
Hmmm… Alright lets find Wark.

565744

>>565736
All right, let's talk.
"So, there's some stuff we need to clarify. First off, Light Heart doesn't want knowledge of the altar spreading, so you can't tell anyone. If anyone asks, just tell them you were told that it's temporary."

565745

>>565740
"There can be no mercy for dissidents!"

"Traitor! She'll come for you next!"

>>565741
He smirks at you. "You cannot possibly hope to bother me. I am physically incapable of being bothered by your words. I gave up my insecurities. I only have confidence now."

Finally Wimp approaches and starts trying to shove the much bulkier, stronger version of himself away. "Let me talk to her! She's my idol."

Magic Bullet raises his brows amusedly. "So glad I got rid of my wants. How pathetic. Go ahead, she's all yours."

He strolls away.

>>565742
"Sometimes I grow oddly concerned about things like that, you know? Well, let me clarify, not the semantics, but the stereotyping. Do you know anything about cutie mark psychological theory?"

>>565743
He's with Light Heart on deck.

>>565744
"Okay."

565746

>>565745
"Was that the theory that cutie marks influence our psychological make-up?"

565747

>>565745
Point at Magic Bullet with a hoof.
"That guy? He's a total asshole. And a loser too. After all, he has nothing more than you do."
Smirk.

565748

>>565745
"I urge you to reconsider!"
Set Grey down next to Red.
"Do what you want with her, just spare my pitiful and miserable life!"

565749

>>565745
"Okay, second: is this going to affect your interactions with the rest of the crew? You are still an officer, after all"

565750

>>565746
"Well, there are any number of theories and sadly not enough researchers who seem interested in it. Some say that there's a biological imperative to act like our cutie mark demands. Others assert that we culturally conform to what our cutie mark says. Abilio had a book about it when he was researching cutie marks, but I couldn't read it because it was in Northspeak."

>>565747
"Isn't that a roundabout way of calling me a loser?"

>>565748
"Alright! But no more colluding! Guard, take her away!"

Wark picks Grey back up and laughs a bit.

>>565749
"I don't know. I have never been a doe before."

565751

>>565745
>>565748
I approach Light Heart.
"Whats happening here?"

565752

>>565750
Perk my ears.
"Is that the book by the royal surgeon of the North by any chance?"

565753

>>565750
"Alright, then how about this: I want you to treat everyone else on the fleet exactly the same as you did before.
So, how does it feel?"

565754

>>565750
"Maybe. But my point was, that he's starting to piss me off."

565755

>>565750
"Red, why don't you go see Rosemary? She may be plotting against you as we speak, so keeping an eye on her may be wise."

>>565751
"Nothing too important, mister Chip. Mere childsplay"

565756

>>565752
"Yes, I'm not totally sure what it's about, but the reason he purchased it was because it had a lengthy chapter about cutie marks. How do you know about it?"

565757

>>565756
"Me and Captain September are studying it together to learn about illusion magic. If you'd like we can translate that chapter as well?"

565758

>>565755
"I see." I then show her the keys.
"Thank you for this." I nod.

565759

>>565758
Take them.
"No problem, mister Chip."

565760

>>565759
"So how is your day? Mine went kind of well."

565761

>>565753
He blinks and after several seconds of thought, he comes to a realization.

"Okay. I must obey you… and in order to obey I must treat you as I did before, so I must stop obeying everything you say. So… by the rules of my own culture… I have no choice to be autonomous again. Thank you."

>>565754
"I won't piss you off!"

>>565755
"Maybe so!"

She takes off.

>>565757
"That would be nice… Wait, illusion magic, why would he have anything to say about illusion magic?"

565762

>>565761
"I know you won't… but tell me, I see you two, but where's this 'Anger' guy?"

565763

>>565760
"Quite well, though I am afraid I have no time for smalltalk. I have matters to tend to as you can see."

>>565761
"Wark, thank you, but I shall take over your prisoner from here."
Grab Grey again and put her on my back.

565764

>>565762
"Oh, no, no, you don't want to meet him! Let's just spend time together!"

>>565763
"Shall I accompany ye?"

565765

>>565764
"Hmmm, perhaps. I do hope miss Stripes will not be overwhelmed."

565766

>>565765
Grey insists: "Giddy up!"

565767

>>565764
"I don't want to, you're right, but I have to. I'm an officer, and somepony who was born out of spite and anger sounds like something I need to check on."

565768

>>565761
"Breathe a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness. So, can you give me an honest answer about how you feel about this?"

565769

>>565763
"Alright then. I'll leave you be to your own devices." I nod as I head to check someone else.
Have I talked yet to Scarab?

565770

>>565761
"Not illusion magic per se, but the workings of the mind. I'm hoping it will help me to understand better how illusions affect the brain."

565771

>>565767
"He doesn't have a name. You named me, and Magic Bullet got to keep our name for some reason… but M B calls him Anger Man. He chained him up in the Seaworthy's brig because he said he would cause problems."

>>565768
"I don't think I like being a doe… it doesn't feel right… I already agreed to let you have intercourse with females that are not me. Shouldn't that be enough? I am not as sex motivated as you are, perhaps because of my culture… I can be patient and wait for when you wish to rub dicks or be on the bottom."

She absently touches her genitals. "What a strange power. I will not hold it against you if you wish to use it for yourself, though."

>>565769
I don't think you have.

>>565770
"I thought he was some kind of biologist I guess. I dunno, but it might still be interesting to read. I've read all of the other books the Commodore owns about cutie marks – he has a lot."

565772

>>565766
"Remember Grey, your role is crucial. Be a good filly eager to learn."
Time to head to the Darklantern and find Cloudy.

565773

>>565771
I smile.
"Why does it interest you so much Doctor?"
What's his cutie mark?

565774

>>565772
"How long do I have to keep this up?"

She's in her cabin.

565775

>>565774
"Until your education is complete. Navigational skills are quite important, so you learning the basics will certainly help you when you grow up to be an adult."
Knock knock.

565776

>>565773
A jack and an ace, both in diamonds.

"Eh… I spend too much time being faux-philosophical. It's actually kind of embarrassing but sometimes I feel kind of shallow. I mean, you have a playing card cutie mark, no one will play you for money anymore except other ponies with card talents. But everyone thinks of you as 'that pony who is good at cards', even if you're a doctor or something else. And you sort of just assume this persona, right? Because society expects you to be the card pony that's how you act… or were you that way to begin with because of your cutie mark? It's hard to be sure, and I'm kinda rambling, sorry."

>>565775
"Whaaaat? That could be a long time! I can't pretend that long! What if it's boring?"

565777

>>565771
"I bet."
Fly over to the Seaworthy.

565778

>>565777
Okay, you're there.

565779

>>565778
Down to the brig.
Let's see if I can spot him.

565780

>>565771
Sigh and smile at her.
"I figured as much. So, here's what I want to do: I want to keep you a doe- for a time; about a few months or so, in order to teach you some stuff and maybe allow you to become more comfortable with being a doe. At the end of that time, we'll make you a buck again… and I'll turn into a doe."

565781

>>565776
"Oh I am certain it will not be. And if it is, I suppose you will have to get through it using sheer willpower. You are clever enough. Education is not always fun, but that does not mean it is not important."

565782

>>565776
"No..that's quite alright. I never really thought about it, but it does affect how other ponies think of us. I myself am quite good at alchemy, if I say so myself yet my cutie mark doesn't resemble anything close to alchemy.
I wonder if I would have had more success selling potions if my cutie mark was a potion flask."

565783

>>565779
There's only one pony in the brig, and he looks identical to the others. He looks like he's put on some muscle weight and lost some fat weight, though, because by the way those chains are straining it looks like he has been doing absolutely nothing in his cell except pulling on them.

"YOU! YOUUUU!"

>>565780
"Months? I don't know…"

>>565781
"But I already learned stuff! You were the one who told me to stop sitting around reading books all day and study guns!"

>>565782
"Maybe. You wear a hat because you have a hat cutie mark, maybe?"

565784

>>565783
!
She doesn't have a hat cutie mark.
She's got 2 mirrored pony silhouettes.

565785

>>565784
What the fuck does that have to do with Hat Magic?

565786

>>565783
"I did ask you to stop reading books all day, but that does not mean you should forsake every form of knowledge, does it? I read quite often myself, but I also learn things through practice. You need a bit of both, to be fair. Without theoretical knowledge… well you will likely end up as miss Emrille."

565787

>>565783
"Me, meee, what about me, huh?"

565788

>>565785
That was her original cutie mark in SMCQ!
Her Talent just changed when bringing her to Pirates.

565789

>>565786
She sticks her tongue out.

>>565787
He stops yelling and grins. "I'm going to rip these chains off the wall and strangle you with them."

565790

>>565788
Awful.

565791

>>565789
Rest a wing on my rifle.
"Will you? Why would you do that?"

565792

>>565789
I chuckle.
"If you behave, you will be rewarded. No need to worry."

565793

>>565791
"Your voice… ANNOYS ME!"

565794

>>565792
"How?! How?!"

565795

>>565790
>>565783
Fucking fine.
I'll pretend she has a hat cutie mark.
"I had this hat before I had my cutie mark."

565796

>>565793
Smirk.
"A lot of things annoy me too."

565797

>>565794
"That depends on your performance!"

565798

>>565795
"From your parents?"

>>565796
"I bet with a voice like that… you've tried to claw your ears off more than once."

>>565797
"I don't think you have anything planned!"

565799

>>565798
"Nah, I quite like everything about myself. That can't be said about you, can it?"

565800

>>565798
"You are absolutely right. But I can improvise quite well. If you behave and perform well, we will work something nice out for you, I promise."

565801

>>565798
"Uh….I got it from my uncle, as a gift. I've kept it and repaired it ever since. So would you say I was destined to have this hat because I would get a hat cutie mark or I got the cutie mark because of the hat?"

565802

>>565799
"I'm going to rip that smirk off your face until you drown in your own blood. Your screams of agony will be a beautiful symphony."

>>565800
"Fiiine. I'll try."

>>565801
"I don't know. What does it represent?"

565803

>>565771
Then lets go and meet him.

565804

>>565803
He languishes in the deeps of the Darklantern.

565805

>>565802
"Lovely!"
Now, go to her cabin and knock knock knock.

565806

>>565805
Abilio answers. "Yes?"

565807

>>565802
"Do you need to chill? I can shoot you with ice if you want."
Shake my head, then stop smiling.
"I'm going to force that asshole other part of you to merge back with you, I hope you know that."

565808

>>565802
"I'm not much of a hat maker. I suppose it represents me pulling things out of hats. But if that is so, why would my cutie mark just be a hat and not a bunny coming out of a hat or something. Or if the mark specifically refers to this hat, why doesn't it look like this hat at all?"

565809

>>565806
"Commodore? Is your fiance available?"

565810

>>565804
Knock on the door.

565811

>>565807
"I don't care to dull my focus – so no, I don't THINK so!"

The chains groan with strain.

>>565809
"I suppose you'll have to ask."

"Light Heart, I told you I don't like tea."

>>565810
He has no door, he just lays around in the hold, covered in muck.

>>565808
"Not every hand I draw is a 21."

565812

>>565811
"Do you count cards?"

565813

>>565811
"I am not here to ask you for tea, but for a favor. May we come in?"

565814

>>565811
"It's not up to you, bub. It's either that or getting shot."
Take a few steps back.

565815

>>565812
"I haven't played a serious game in years."

>>565813
"Alright…"

She lets you in.

>>565814
"Take your best shot!"

565816

>>565783
"I said 'maybe,' didn't I? It probably won't be nearly that long.
Just… Trust me on this, okay? I will never do anything to hurt you; I promise."

565817

>>565815
Enter.
"Thank you."
Set Grey on the ground.
"There are times, very often in fact, where I ponder over the future of those I have taken responsibility for. Have you met Grey Worm?"

565818

>>565815
"I'm not going to waste the time to aim at you and shoot you. You don't even deserve getting shot."
Turn around and walk away. Fly back to the Darklantern.

565819

>>565815
"…Wanna play one sometime?"

565820

>>565816
"…Okay. But I'm going to change back if I feel uncomfortable."

>>565817
"Not formally…"

>>565818
He roars in rage as you leave.

>>565819
He chuckles. "I don't think you'd want to. We can play a friendly game."

565821

>>565811
"Hey there, feeling comfortable down here?" I grin.

565822

>>565820
Find Wimp.

565823

>>565821
"Mmmmm mmmph mmmm."

>>565822
He's with you!

565824

>>565823
He followed me? Fuck I didn't even notice!
"I have a mission for you."

565825

>>565824
"A mission? But I want to stay with you!"

565826

>>565820
"She is from Reptil, as you may remember. We have been educating her about all sorts of matters, but as you can imagine we do not have the time or knowledge to teach her everything. I was hoping you would be willing to teach her the basics of your trade. I realize you must be quite busy yourself, but if you could do this… I would be very grateful."

565827

>>565823
Slowly descend and see if he is fine.
"So Scarab, both you and me havent had the time to talk much the first time we met in Roads you see. I just find it that you being alone most of the time feels odd, to me that is. So here I am trying just seeing if you are feeling fine or lonely down here."
"So how goes your day sir?"

565828

>>565825
"Oh, so you don't want to prove yourself that you are capable and impress me? Okay then, nevermind."

565829

>>565826
She sighs. "Well, I'd be happy to teach her, but I think cartography for the sighted is somewhat different than for the blind. Shouldn't Abilio teach her? He's as much a navigator as I am – that's why we got together originally."

>>565827
"Mmmmm mmmm mmmph mmmm mmmmpmh mmm mmmmph mmmmmph."

>>565828
"I do… but it's hard! You have to remember that I didn't get any of the work ethic or confidence!"

565830

>>565820
"Watch out. I've got aces up my hat."
I giggle.

565831

>>565830
"What kind of pony cheats in a friendly game?"

565832

>>565829
"I would hate to burden the commodore with yet another student. Miss Emrille is quite the hooffull."

565833

>>565829
Observe his face. Is his mouth clamped up or what?
"Uhmm…. okay? So what do you think of the fleet?"

565834

>>565829
"Don't do it because of the fucking work ethic, do it for me~"
Eye-wink at him.

565835

>>565832
"Well, I'll give it a try."

>>565833
"Mmmm. Mmmph mmm mmmm mm mmmph."

As I said, he is entirely covered in muck. No part of him his visible. It's hard to even make out his limbs because he is lounging in a pile of it. His mouth is totally covered by the stuff.

>>565834
"What do you want me to do…?"

565836

>>565831
"One who can't stand losing."
I wink.
"But luckily I'm perfectly capable of dealing with that."

565837

>>565835
"Get yourself together. Literally."

565838

>>565835
I then nod.
"Alright, I think we will speak later after you are done with your bath. Good day."
Lets leave him be, I dont want to get covered in muck after. What will the others think of me?

565839

>>565835
"Thank you, I am very grateful. When would be a opportune time for you?"

565840

>>565837
"Whyyyy? They don't love you like I do!"

>>565836
"I hope so! So… what did you come in for?"

>>565838
Who knows?

565841

>>565840
"I was wondering whether you knew anything about a potion that permanently cures a heart condition."

565842

>>565840
Now anyone I know who can speak normally to me instead of "mmmhhhmmhhmmhhh", that I have not speaken to yet? If not, I may have to fuck a menial.

565843

>>565840
"That is why you have to be the one to unite and control them."

565844

>>565841
He starts laughing profusely. "Oh boy, you have no idea how funny that is."

>>565842
Lavinia Ambercharge is new around here.

Or… have you met Strom and Burnside?

Diamond Luck?

Driftwood?

565845

>>565843
"But MB has all the self control!"

565846

>>565844
I bite my lip
"O-oh?"

565847

565848

>>565844
Mmmhhh.. Lavinia sounds like a normal name.
Lets go meet hjer.

565849

>>565845
"Yeah, but he made a mistake. He gave you all the emotions."
Smirk.

565850

>>565839
"Oh… the mornings, I suppose?"

>>565846
"We've had a surprisingly large number of ponies on this fleet with heart troubles. I worked on some extra-strength medicine with ponies named Doc Peg and Ruxiang, but we never had a permanent solution, other than dangerous surgery."

>>565848
This oddly regal pony is standing on the aftcastle appreciating the waves.

>>565849
"What do emotions get?"

565851

>>565850
Whoa mama.
Lets arrange myself and stand in a proud manner as I approach and stand next to her.
"Enjoying the sea's?"

565852

>>565850
"That sounds excellent. Thank you miss Stripes. I owe you."

565853

>>565850
"Everything. They are strong. Didn't you ever had the feeling that something was logical to do but you still did the opposite because of what you felt? That fucking right there. Use that. Once you've got Magic Bullet, Anger will be a piece of cake."

565854

>>565850
"The stress of piracy must be quite a strain on the heart." I wince.
"I've heard Doc Peg and Ruxiang are gone, does that mean the extra strength medicine is lost?"

565855

>>565851
"They remind me of home. Sorry, I don't think we've met?"

>>565852
"Two now. Is that all?"

>>565853
"I'll try… but I'm not sure I can."

565856

>>565854
"I might still be able to make it if Ruxiang was here. He brought me some strange herbs. I was never quite sure what they were but they had useful properties. Clotting inhibition, for one."

565857

>>565855
I'm so going to fucking regert this…
Give a quick peck on his cheek.
"Just go and fucking do it."

565858

>>565856
"This Ruxiang, was he an alchemist as well? Is that why you need him for this?"

565859

>>565857
"Oh gosh!~"

He turns read and collapses cheerfully, rolling around hugging himself.

565860

>>565855
"It is."
Nudge Grey with a hoof.
"Grey? No word of gratitude for the nice lady?"

565861

>>565859
Roll my eyes.
"I said fucking get to it! Chop chop!"

565862

>>565855
I bow down low with poise and grace.
"Master Chip, chief mechanic and first mate of SeaWorthy. At your service Miss?"

565863

"Yes, an alchemist of a sort… He was an interesting pony. Unfortunately he was on the wrong side of the mutiny. We never saw a body, so he could supposedly be out there, but I wouldn't bet on it. And… well, he's a nice guy but others around here probably hold more of a grudge than I."

>>565860
"Thaaaaaaaanks."

She tries to sound sincere.

>>565861
He heads off.

>>565862
"Lavinia Ambercharge, Queen of Embassy and heir apparent to the throne of the Empire of Trotantium."

565864

>>565863
Spit into the sea once he's gone.
Ugh.

Well, time to visit some Burgers.
I wonder what's up with that Eagle.

565865

>>565864
Burnside is riding it around the ships.

565866

>>565863
I roll my eyes with a smile.
"Come now, let us return and see what the others are getting themselves into."

565867

>>565865
Snicker.
"Tamed it yet?"

565868

>>565863
"I wish to help creating such a medicine if I can…"

565869

>>565866
The lot of you return elsewhere.

>>565867
"Yes, I think so."

>>565868
"The problem is that I don't know what the herbs he was supplying were."

565870

>>565869
"Do you happen to have some of them left? I could try to identify them."

565871

>>565869
To my cabin. That was a start.
"Thank you Grey. Tomorrow morning you will start."

565872

>>565863
I then held my head high and sit stand next to her.
"Fancy that a lady of such high upper standing be in this humble fleet of ours. May I know how ya came to ride with the waves with us Ms. Ambercharge?"

565873

>>565870
"Not anymore. We made the stuff for Tallow, but my materials were lost when the Seaworthy sunk in Roads. And the Eagle's Roost."

>>565871
"You didn't even do anything with her!"

>>565872
"In addition to those titles, I am chosen by the great Spirits of Harmony. I am the current Element of Magic, and possibly the most powerful spellcaster in the world. I am here visiting my good friend Light Heart."

565874

>>565869
"Is it as fun as you expected?"

565875

>>565873
"Mmmm, you said it helped to unclog arteries?"
Pull an encyclopedia on medical uses of herbs out of my hat.
HAT POWER ACTIVATE '1d10+2'

Roll #1 10 + 2 = 12

565876

>>565873
"Of course not. The foundations are to be laid first. The rest comes later."

565877

>>565875
>unclot

565878

>>565874
"Fun? FUN? I did this for dignity! I am a great animal tamer."

>>565875
"Hey, I had a copy of that book. Neat trick."

>>565876
"Alriiiiight."

565879

>>565876
Oh, and you arrive at the cabin.

Only Adel is here. Wark rushes over in surprise.

"Ach, good, you're alright…"

565880

>>565878
I smile and ruffle her mane.
"Good girl."

565881

>>565878
I grin.
"Keep it. But perhaps we can find the herb in question in this book."
Look for herbs that inhibit clotting. '1d10'

Roll #1 4 = 4

565882

>>565881
You spend the rest of the day reading the book and have no luck.

565883

>>565878
"Suuuuuuuure. So you get no joy at all from riding a giant eagle?"

565884

>>565882
Scrunch.
I'll leave the book with Diamond Luck.

565885

>>565879
What the…
"Where are Rosemary? Lilly?"

565886

>>565883
"Do you get any joy from flying around?"

>>565884
Noted

>>565885
"They were here when I last saw them."

Adel gives a serene smile.

565887

>>565886
Before I leave…
"Doctor, if something comes up, I'd be happy to help researching such a medicine."

565888

>>565886
Hmmm..

"I will go find them…"
Did Rosemary come looking for me again? Goddamn… look for her.

Roll #1 4 = 4

565889

>>565887
"Alright, good night."

>>565888
She's on the bow lovingly holding Lilly.

565890

>>565873
I raise an eyebrow.
"Are you now that is what you claim? Those are such high-bearing titles to label yourself with Ms. Ambercharge."
I then breath out in sad exasperation.
"But alas, a lowly dog such as I have little to no idea what those labels that you claim you are really mean so… my humble apologies for not able to appreciate half of them." I bow.
"What I, a pirate of the sea can appreciate is that Ms. Ambercharge is a friend to LightHeart? A lady of good poise and careful manners she is and much love by most of the crew. She is a good friend and a loyal fleet member."

565891

>>565889
Wark asks Grey, "Please watch yer sister."

Then he follows after.

565892

>>565886
"Shitloads, yeah."

565893

>>565889
"Oh and Doctor?"
I smile sheepishly.
"Do you know any card tricks?"

565894

>>565889
Oh…
Approach her.
"Rosemary, why was Adel left alone in the cabin? Where is Red?"

565895

>>565890
"Yes, she is a good friend."

>>565892
"Must be a pegasus thing."

>>565893
"Yes, but it's getting late… how about another time?"

>>565894
"Oh, come on, she'll be alright on her own for a few minutes. And we let Red run around on her own all the time."

Wark seems a little distressed. "She's jus' a wee lass, I though' you were watchin' alla tha kids, not jus' Lilly."

"Well, only Lilly is my daughter. I can't be expected to babysit yours just because you enjoy playing with Lilly."

"I do tha' because I care about them! An' you! It's not abou' enjoyin' it's abou' bein a half decent parent!"

565896

>>565895
"Gotcha. Good night, doctor.
Don't forget to take a break once in a while."
I go…well normally I'd go talk to September but >memoirs

565897

>>565895
I shake my head.
"Back to the cabin please. We will discuss this there, not here in public."

565898

>>565897
"Alright… Ready to go back inside, Lilly?"

She giggles obliviously.

565899

>>565895
"So you don't like to fly then?"

565900

>>565899
"It's okay. No different than sailing or riding to me."

565901

>>565895
I stand and relax on the railings.
"If you can spare this old pirate your time Ms. Ambercharge may you explain what this 'Spirit of Harmony.' what is this 'Element of Harmony' thing is? That sounds…. fascinating to say the least."

I then lean closer.
"Not to mention, that I also find you particularly fascinating to say the least."

565902

>>565900
Have I heard about new people on the ship?

565903

>>565900
"How do you not find flying exciting? I thought all non-pegasi wanted to know how it feels."

565904

>>565898
Back to the cabin we go.
Once we're back there, turn to Rosemary.
"Rosemary, this is unacceptable and you know it."

565905

>>565820
Hats perfectly fair. Just promise me you'll give stuff a chance.
Now, I said I wanted to teach you some stuff over the course of this. Firstly, I want to help you learn about my culture; right now you seem a little naive about some stuff, and there are ponies out there who would take advantage of that. I don't want to see them hurt you like they hurt me.
At the same time, I want to learn about your culture; what it teaches, what customs you have… how to be a good mate for you."
