In the middle of this Age of Piracy, there are those who stood up against their oppressors.

Having dealt a blow to all manner of illegal operations in their home waters, the ships are on their way home.

Session Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvccU-JeKyk

The sun is beginning to set, but the crew couldn't be happier. Your home base of Perros de la Frontera on Caballo Island is in sight. The winds are low, but this means the crew has more time to celebrate. Alcohol and song flow freely. Plenty of menials are discussing what they'll do with their money and taking bets on how fast they'll waste it on drink.

578802

578803

>>578798
Well, it was nice meeting CC, but now it's back to work. One last stop by my cabin before I go; I can't place why, but I feel a bad wind brewing…

578804

>>578798
I happily drink along with everyone else.
"I can't wait to get home!"

578809

>>578803
It's probably just the potion's effect. C.C. alters them to last less than your Zebra servant usually makes them for.

Listen Check.

>>578804
Whispy Foam joins you with his own mug. "I love the sea, but I won't mind a little hard land that doesn't burst into flames. Fresh food and fresh drink, here we come!"

The Cook, Iolite, is passing out plenty of baked treats. Gotta use up what's left.

578810

>>578809
You know, I would stop doing this, if it wasn't so much fun… '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

578811

>>578809
I gobble down a treat.
"I've got no clue what I'm going to do with my slaves."

578812

>>578810
You've gotten quite adept at it. There's a lot of shuffling going about.

"The towels, are they here?"
"Yeah, but should I leave them on the bed?"
"No, the chair."
"It'll be easier if they're on the cabinet."

>>578811
"Get yourself a nice house and make 'em work for the rest of their lives. Least they could do."

Several others who've had a little too much to drink join in.

"No, how about loaning them to a hospital? I heard some of those doctors are coming up with some crazy things they want to test out."

"No, the circus! Lots of dangerous things they don't want to use their own acrobats on."

578813

>>578812
Hmn… keep listening. Surely there's context… '1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

578814

>>578812
I shrug.
"I don't trust them enough to keep them, but don't want to send them anywhere cruel."

578815

Think about what I'll be doing with my servants.

They've served well. What if I set them free?

578816

>>578813
You should be aware of the context. They're preparing for you.
>>575255

>>578814
"Not like they don't deserve it. Besides, why'd not have them get trained by one of your friends?" Whispy offers a smile. "We knew what the others were up to, not like it was easy to hide. One of the Gryphons is teaching them to be maids, the other is training 'em. Lot's of options if you ask around."

578817

>>578816
I shrug.
"I guess maid training then selling them is the best bet."

578818

>>578816
Oh, right!
Well, I'll go ahead and enter then.

578819

>>578815
The Smith Donkey puts his cup down.

"No good. They've been branded. No matter where they go, everyone will know what they did. And with things heating up like they've been , none will look too kind on them. You'd have to leave the whole continent, and I still don't know where you could go."

>>578817
"Don't you have a house or something? A place to call your own? Just have them tidy up the place. And with what we're going to be paid, you can get one if you didn't already have one."

578820

>>578819
I shake my head.
"Not really. I travel around and hunt bounties."

578821

What's going on?

578822

>>578818
Viatka, Desmayo, and Citrine are waiting for you. They've all done their best to clean up in this ship, which still isn't much. On the cabinet, one of the towels is moving on its own.

"Hello, Mister Master!" Desmayo shouts out.'

>>578820
"Well, how about a boat and taking them as crew? Plenty of trouble going on, and to be honest, I might just save my money and hightail it out of here. It's going to get much to warm for my tastes in the future, if you know what I'm saying."

578823

>>578819
"I was supposed to travel alone. I've taken more than I should. I don't know if they're fit to keep going with me on my harsher journeys. I wonder if I can send them to my home?"

578824

>>578822
"Why sail when I can fly a cloud around?"

578825

>>578822
"Hello girls! Did you get all prettied up just for me?"
Give them all a warm smile, then chuckle as Desmayo calls out.
"Hello to you too, Desmayo."

578826

>>578823
"Oh, you have somewhere to send them too? Must be nice, last time the pirates came about, they burned mine down." He smiles for a moment. "Would you mind sending me with them?"

>>578824
"You've got good wings, but lot's of folks with a bounty on them don't. You don't look like you could carry the 'Uffalo Sisters if you came across them. Get a nice boat, shove them in there, then just let the wind take you to your prize money, you know."

578827

578828

>>578827
Just celebration. Everyone is celebrating and thinking about what they'll do when they get back to base.

578829

>>578826
I rub my chin.
"Hmmm. That's a good idea. I want to stretch my legs and wings over dry land for a while though."

578831

>>578828
Let's see… I don't really have anything to do right now. Maybe I'll work on some tiny potion equipment for CC.

Better go around the ship looking for some glass to work with.

578832

>>578825
"You mentioned it earlier, we were just getting prepared for you."

Viatka starts bowing, but she reaches over to nod Citrine's head down a little too.

"The others, are indisposed at the moment. Sorry about that."

>>578829
"Yeah, most ships out won't be for a while. The winds aren't in their favor. Say, did you ever get a place to stay in Perro's?"

578833

>>578832
"In what?"

578835

>>578826
"You want to visit my home?"

578836

>>578832
Frown a little.
"…what are you doing, Viatka?" I ask quietly, just loud enough for them to hear.

578839

>>578831
Getting to where they're storing materials is a bit easier today. No one is in any rush, they all make way for you. Nili and some of the other guards are relaxing and playing cards, they barely look up when you pass them. There's a bin covered with broken glasses, you're free to help yourself to them.

>>578833
"You must have just been there to sign up. Perros de la Frontera, our base. You really did just come here for the bounties, huh?"

578840

>>578835
"I don't have one to really go back too and plenty of pay from the job, so if you're offering, I'll pay my way at least. What's it like, where you're from?"

>>578836
She sighs.

"What's expected of us by the world at large. You are our Master, no matter how nice you are to us."

578841

>>578839
I nod my head.
"It's what I do."

578842

>>578839
Broken glass it is. Do we have a forge somewhere on the ship?

578843

>>578840
Slowly walk up to her. Then lift her chin until she's looking me in the eyes.
"The world at large… is not in this room right now. So forget what the world at large wants, okay? How you treat me in public is an act for self-preservation. But when you're alone with me… you can drop the act."

578844

>>578841
"Then you'll be doing the opposite of me. Invest hat money in a house, because I know for a fact you'll be seeing more "privateers" around these parts. Plenty of folks with money hanging over their head. Until then, you can stay in the town's barracks."

>>578842
A small one, it's mostly handled by the Donkey Smith. Gunhilda is down there with him.

>>578843
"You really are too good for us. Makes it hard for me to be mad at you that I lost when we fought, or glad."

"Except for the first bit of pain, he's been nicer than the other captains we've served under." Citrine chimes in.

578845

>>578840
Lots of clouds. At the lower regions it's cool all year round, we grow crops that grow nowhere else. At the cities higher up we're always surrounded by clouds, and the most powerful of gryphons bring their clouds with them wherever they go. It's a beautiful place."

578846

>>578844
Well, I can wait my turn if it's occupied. What's he working on?

578847

>>578844
"Alright. I'm going to see if I can find that gryphon that is training her servants to be maids."

>>578845
Off I go looking for you.

578848

>>578847
"Hello there. What do you need?"

578849

>>578845
"I've heard stories about how you fight. If the others are half as good, I'll be there with you. I'd rather not be dealing with any more fightings."

>>578846
Nothing, just having a drink with Gunhilda.

"Oh, did you want your weapons fixed or something?" He asks.

>>578847
"Come back soon, else we'll be out of drink!"

578850

>>578844
Smile at that.
"Well, I suppose I'll take that as a compliment."
Sigh and rub her horn a little.
"I truly am sorry that they did this to you. Nobody deserves this, no matter what their crimes."

578851

>>578849
"No, I need the fire for glass blowing."

Set to work on tinkering the pieces into some tiny beakers and alembics.

578852

>>578848
"Aren't you the gryphon that is training your slaves to be maids?"

>>578849
I laugh.
"Alrighty!"

578853

>>578850
"You really need to stop being so nice. We knew what could happen, but the pay seemed to make up for it. We were doing the job we signed up for, so were you."

>>578851
He just keeps an eye on you to make sure the ship doesn't burn down.

Roll for quality.

578855

>>578849
"A sword bared keeps another in its sheathe. It's a tradition we live by. Either you must be strong enough, or valuable enough so people desire you rather than scorning you. It's harsh but I believe your exploits will serve you well there."

578856

>>578853
Bleh!

'1d10'

Roll #1 8 = 8

578857

>>578852
"Not maids. They have been trainees in war more than anything. I can't train maids."

578858

>>578853
Arch an eyebrow at her.
"Oh really? Well, that's too bad, because I don't intend to stop anytime soon, if ever."
Smirk and lean in closer.
"So what do you intend to do about it?"

578861

>>578855
"I do know a thing or two about making swords." He points to a stash of weapons ready to be taken. "Sure someone there'll be interested in my skills."

>>578856
These are actually very high quality, but you better keep them close. Any sailor who finds them will be more than happy to treat it as their drink holder at the moment.

>>578858
"Wait, what do you mean by 'what we intend to do about that?'"

578862

>>578857
"Oh. What kind of training could you give mine? I don't want to give them away to someone barbaric, but with my lifestyle I wouldn't feel safe keeping them with me."

578863

>>578861
Grab some spare wood from the hold and head back to my room. What's CC up to?

578864

>>578861
"You said I needed to stop being so nice to you. I told you I'm not going to stop being nice to you. So tell me; what are you going to do to get what you want? Or are you just going to accept that I'm far too sweet on you girls to do anything to hurt you?"

578866

>>578863
She's looking out the window, towards the town. Her wings will occasionally flutter, but she seems to be moving herself around the glass while trying to make out details.

>>578864
"Ahem, I can answer that." Desmayo interjects. "You told us, if there's something we want, we should just ask."

She holds up the doll you let her keep.

578867

>>578861
"You'd be welcomed openly, in that case. Young smiths would come to you to broaden their skills."

>>578862
"How to fight and assist those who fight, I suppose. Though I am overloaded already."

578869

>>578867
"OH. I just want to be sure they won't run off or cut my throat."

578871

>>578866
"Hey."

Hold up the tiny equipment.

578872

>>578866
"That I did. Thing is, she didn't ask me for anything, just said that I need to stop treating you so nice. If you really want me to stop treating you so nice… then go ahead and ask."

578873

>>578869
"You don't trust your own?"

578877

>>578873
"In the middle of the woods far from anywhere while I'm tracking someone down? No way."

578878

>>578871
She turns around and flies towards the glass bottles, then she starts flying back.

"What, are you going to do with those…"

>>578872
"Uhuh, you're fine."

The other two nod in agreement.

"Sorry, but this is going to take us a while. Part of me wants to go drink with them, then I remember these." She points to her cut ears, horn, and mane. "Our lives changed in one night, can't expect us to deal with that, and you, so quickly."

578879

>>578878
"I was going to build an alchemy workshop in your house."

578880

>>578877
"You should not have taken any, then. You are too weak in character to command them and too poor a judge to see first if they're worth taking on or not."

Turn away. I have 5 servants to account for, right?

578881

>>578879
She darts towards your head, here eyes getting big enough that they seem to overtake her head..

"Really!? Maybe I can really get to work on it! But, I'm being mean. Is there anything you want to do with it!? I'll be glad to help!"

578882

>>578880
Correct, and the Donkey Smith has just signed up as a guest when you go back.

578883

>>578878
"Of course I don't! Still… I'm going to stick with this, so you'll learn eventually. Just as I've been learning about all of you."

578884

>>578880
I nod.
"Yeah, but I didn't know what else to do. Everyone else seemed to be taking them."

578885

>>578883
"So then, what are your plans when you're through with this job? I'd at least like to know where my hindquarters will end up on? Don't say Zebrica! I still owe someone money over there."

578886

>>578884
"If you did it out of kindness… well, I myself am figuring out where to send mine. I doubt my home will care very much about their brands, at least.

578887

>>578886
I nod.
"I figured if I could make them useful I could sell them."

578888

>>578885
Arch an eyebrow at that and chuckle.
"Even if we were headed there, I'd protect you. Still, Zebrica's a bit arid for my tastes. I intend to keep traveling, taking jobs as they're offered. I hear one of the colony's over on that new continent… Primedia, I think they're calling it? -I think I heard some scuttlebutt about them hiring guards. Might be a good gig for just settling down."

578889

>>578887
"I suppose I can say your honesty isn't wanting."

Stop looking at her.

578890

>>578889
"Thanks. Let me know if you see the other gryphon."
Back to the feast I go.

578891

>>578888
"Hold it, you sound like you want us to work with you on this? You said guards, plural."

578892

>>578881
"Work on…? No… Go ahead and do whatever you want. I'm curious what has you so excited though. Working on something in particular?"

578893

>>578892
"I want to be big, like you! No one is mean to you or puts thing in you,and I don't want it to be done to me anymore either."

578894

>>578891
Shrug at this, watching them to gauge their reactions.
"It's up to you, but maybe ponies there won't be as judgemental. Just consider it an option if you're interested."

578895

>>578894
They huddle up.

Roll to eavesdrop. +2 bonus for range.

578896

>>578895
I suppose being a busybody is justified… '1d10+2'

Roll #1 7 + 2 = 9

578897

>>578896
"it has to be a trick. He hasn't used one before, but this one has to be, right?"
"He took all of us down, it's not like we could do better on our own."
"I know, but he's also the reason we even have to make this choice."
"If it was anyone else, they would have thrown us to the sharks. It's not like we weren't expecting to get cheated out of our pay.
"He's the best offer we have. The only offer, but it's still a good one."

>>578890
The lowering sun has only managed to imrpove everyone's spirits. Drinking more spirits seems to help. Even the Captain is joining in a dance.

578898

>>578897
Who was convinced I was trying to trick them? That is, who's the first speaker?
Keep listening. '1d10+2'

Roll #1 10 + 2 = 12

578900

>>578898
Thing is, they all nodded when it was spoken and none of them refuted it.

"It just feels weird, just saying."
"This happened to us, and now we have the choice continue with him."
"I'm going to take it. I won't just wind up as another slave in the history books." Viatka says.
"Yeah, I've fought to long to let it all go to waste now." Citrine adds.
"I can't say I don't like the chance of messing with all those new potions." Crawshay says.
The other three are still silent on the matter.

578902

Can I invite my servants out to celebrate too?

578903

>>578897
I'll take another drink and go to the dnacefloor.

578904

>>578900
Well, sounds like those three have made up their minds… keep listening. '1d10+2'

Roll #1 1 + 2 = 3

578906

>>578893
Shrug. "If it'll make you happy. But… you know, usually the things we think will make us happy don't. No reason not to try, I guess. I dunno. Sorry for being a downer, I'm just a little somber lately."

578923

>>578902
You might want to do that in your room instead. They're still branded Pirates, you'll cause a riot if they go up on deck.

>>578903
Roll a 6d10 to see how good you are at danging with all those limbs.

>>578904
It'll all becomes intelligible as they enter full girl-talk mode. They may have been Pirates, but they still know how to be snippy and how to keep it down.

They turn to you at last and watch you for any reactions.

>>578906
"There is singing, and I can smell lots of food. Why would you be sad?"

578926

>>578923
Bring them drinks and food, then.

578927

>>578926
It's not that hard to find food, as Iolite is just giving it away right now and Jackson, the Donkey Smith, brings in his own heaping portion of food.

When they see you come in, Singer and Amadi manage to keep themselves controlled, but the other three are much more eager.

578928

>>578923
[6d10]

Roll #1 3, 8, 10, 3, 10, 10 = 44

578929

>>578923
"Maybe it's because I can't cheer myself up like the others. I've been looking for a way to be happy for a long time."

578930

>>578923
Keep up my poker face.
"I take it you've reached a decision?"

578931

>>578928
The crew surrounds you and you become the focal point of their singing.

Long we've tossed on the rolling main
Now we're safe ashore, Jack
Don't forget your old shipmate
Fal dee ral dee ral dee rye eye doe!

The drink and the food are flowing loosely right now. You'll have no want of food for a while.

>>578929
"Did something happen? Did they put needles in you too?"

She flies up to your shoulder.

>>578930
"Considering all of our circumstances, we'd like to go with you, wherever you go."
Viatka announces. The others move their heads up and down to signal their agreement.

578932

>>578931
Laugh grimly.

"It would certainly be easier that way."

578934

>>578932
"Were safe here, right? Even the ponies are nice. And I'm here too." She starts rubbing her tiny head on your massive neck. "So, there's not anything to worry about, right?"

578935

>>578934
"Worrying was never my strong suit anyway."

578936

>>578931
I keep on dancing.

578937

>>578931
Look at the three who weren't so eager about it in the chat.
"What about you three? You don't seem so happy about this…"

578939

>>578927
"It's alright. Eat up however you like. Now… soon we'll be leaving this ship. Where would you like to go from here on?"

578940

>>578935
"Oh, so let's be happy! Is this your city we're going to?" She flies back to the window. "It's pretty."

>>578936
We have worked the self-same gun:
Quarterdeck division
Sponger I and loader you
Through the whole commission

Everyone bursts out into laughter as another pony tries to dance with you but promptly falls on his face because of all the alcohol they've had.

>>578937
"It depends," Fisher says, "we don't actually mind just working for you. To be inside and make food, to get things cleaned, it's what we were doing before, but you've been the best thing that's happened to us. I don't know what any of us will do if you don't come back from a guard job."

>>578939
They stare at each other for a bit, though the two Pegasus sisters reached for the food first.

"What do you mean?" says Renish.
"We'll go wherever you go, Master." Singer says as she bows.

578941

>>578940
Thanks for the quest. I'm not sure what else to do since Sol is AWOL.

578942

>>578940
"I don't have a home."

578943

>>578941
Thanks for playing.

>>578942
"You built me one, so why don't you make one there?"

578944

>>578940
Sigh quietly for a moment.
"The time comes when everyone has to go where nopony else can follow… but until then, I'd be perfectly happy letting you maintain our home, if it's what you want. Just don't forget to get a little sun every once in a while, okay? Maybe we could start up a garden or something…"

578945

>>578943
"A home is more than a house."

578946

>>578943
And thank you for running the quest.

578947

>>578944
They're relieved, if only a little.

"That sounds nice!" Desmayo yells out.
"Just don't get yourself hurt, got it?" Fisher retorts to you.

>>578945
"It is? I liked the one you made. It's nice, and quiet, and no one pulls me out of it. What else is there to a home?"

578948

>>578947
"Do you know this word – patriot?"

578949

>>578947
Give her a cocky grin and stroke her wings.
"I might gets some bumps and scratches, but I know my work. After all, I am a professional."

578950

>>578948
She shakes her head.

"No, I never heard the ponies or the other Breezies use it."

>>578949
"That's a promise, right?" Gravy asks as she appears on Desmayo's head.

578951

>>578940
"What I mean is, should you wish to leave me now, you may. Or you can stay with me and I will return home for a while to train you all more. Perhaps you can make a name for yourselves or become fit to travel with me more."

578952

>>578950
"To be a patriot, it means to love the land you stand on. The culture of those around you. Sometimes patriots defend or fight their rulers, because the rulers aren't what make a place special. To love a place for what it is… I still love a place, but it doesn't love me. So… as it is that one cannot offend their own sensibilities and force theirself to love another if the love is not genuine, one cannot love a land while preoccupied with the love of another."

578953

>>578950
Chuckle a bit ruefully at that, then smile at her.
"Yes. I promise."
Turn to the three who prettied themselves up.
"Now, not to break the mood, but…

…have any of you eaten lately?"

578954

>>578951
Amadi and Singer sit straight and answer quickly.

"We'll go wherever you go!"

The other three are just watching, unsure in what to do.

>>578952
"I don't get it. I've never been in a place I've liked until I met you. If you don't want to make a home here, I'll go with you until you find a place you like."

>>578953
"Just the regular rations they've always given us."

As if on cue, the music and cheer on deck starts picking up.

578955

>>578954
"Well, that won't do at all. I'll be right back."
Head out to gather up as much food and drink as I can.

578956

>>578955
There are tables filled with all manner of baked goods and all the drinks are spiked with alcohol. Iolite is there, sometimes handling the food, sometimes handling a poor stallion who can't keep up with her dancing.

578957

>>578954
"What I am saying is that the place that I want to be doesn't want me."

578958

>>578956
Girl's having fun… I'll leave her be. Hope she finds someone to dance with…
Stack up on as much variety of food as I can, enough for all six of them plus me, then several drinks as well and take them all back to my room.

578959

>>578957
"Oh…"

She simply flies back towards you.

>>578958
There's a mountain of all manner of goods on your plate and the crew makes it smell better with their liveliness.

"Chug chug!"
Call all hands to man the capstan
See the cable run down clear
Heave away and with a will boys
For old Equestria we will steer
.

578960

>>578959
Heh… head on back down to the room with my bounty.
"There, I think this is more fitting of a celebration, wouldn't you say?"
How do the girls react?

578961

>>578959
"It's okay. I have no reason to complain."

578962

>>578954
"I'm glad to have you two."

As for the others…

"You're welcome to join us, of your own will."

578963

>>578960
"Thanks!"
"Thank you!"
"Treats!"
"This'll hit the spot!"
A chunk of the plate disappears as soon as you stepped through the door.

>>578961
"You're going to keep staying in boats, then? I'll go with you, we'll find a place you can stay, a place were we can both be real happy!"

>>578962
They look at each other before they all come to a similar conclusion.

"We'll go with you."
"At any time, you could have really hurt us. Make us suffer."
"But you didn't. So, if you're okay with branded Pirates coming with you, we''ll go."

578964

>>578963
"Yes, although I get the feeling that it is a holding pattern…"

578965

>>578963
Laugh and dig in myself, passing out the drinks too.
"You girls weren't hungry were you? Oh, what am I saying, of course you were! Now let's dig in!"

578966

>>578964
"You're just looking for a place to stay. I found mine by accident. Maybe if you keep going, you'll get caught by someone too."

>>578965
The food disappears quickly, before two songs could even be completed.

They're all just laying against the bed or the wall.

"You're full of surprises, have we told you that?" Citrine says, finally breaking the silence.

578967

>>578966
"Do you suppose I caught you?"

578968

>>578966
"Maybe once or twice." I chuckle lightly; I guess the alcohol's giving me a good buzz.
"Want me to go back out for seconds?"

578969

>>578967
"You had me in your paws," she looks up sarcastically, "it was dark in there! But I decided to stay with you. Maybe you'll decide the same with someone else. But as long as you keep traveling, I'll stay with you."

>>578968
They nod vigorously.

578970

>>578963
"As far as I'm concerned, you've worked off your debts. But you can come with me and start new lives. We don't recognise brands in the misty peaks."

Smile and help myself to some drink too.

578971

>>578969
"Thing change with rapidity. Well, it is good to have you at my side."

That's all for me

578972

>>578970
It gets really crowded in your room, but the food and drink have helped raise everyone's spirits. It's a lovely night to eat and listen to all the chanting going on.

#PAUSE

578973

>>578969
Well, then, I'll keep gathering food and drink until they're satisfied… then celebrate the rest of the night and into the early morning until we're all 'satisfied.' Life is good.

Thanks for running.

578974

>>578972
Thank you.

#Knox and Hopscotch

The sun was already setting when you arrived, and now all the non-essential crew have been ordered off the ship and been corralled to the "Sleepy Sheep", the only place in town that has the food, drink, and room to house all the raucous sailors.

There's still plenty of seats and enough people to talk to pass the night, like the Donkey bartender, the long-eared lady handing out rooms, and the rest of the rowdy crew.

580578

>>580577
I wave at Knox from a table.
"Hey! Feathers! Over here!"

580579

>>580577
>>580578
"Huh? What do you want, Hopscotch?"
I walk over to her.

580580

>>580579
"Two things. Can you train my slaves to be polite and not cut my throat in my sleep, and do you want to be a bounty hunter slash lost person finder?"

580581

>>580578
>>580579
"Can I get you two anything?" A haggard waitress asks with her tired eyes.

580582

>>580581
"Fruit juice."

580583

>>580581
Hawkeye.

580584

>>580580
I give her a very confused look.
"Uh-

I… guess? And- what? Bounty hunter slash lost person finder? What does that even mean?"
I scratch my head.

580585

>>580581
"Nothing for me, at the moment."

580586

>>580582
"Okay, just wait here."

>>580585
"Just shout if you want something."

580587

>>580584
"I heard you were training your slaves to be maids, and wondered if you could just make mine more loyal. As for the second thing? You'd help me look for people that don't want to be found, or are lost."

580588

>>580587
Roll to spot.

580589

>>580587
"I- Suuuure… I can try."
I shake my head to clear my thoughts, knowing that Torm's the only one who uses his slaves for… other, purposes.
"And sure, I'm not doing anything at the immediate moment, so I could accompany you."

580590

>>580588
[1d10+3]

"Great! You can be my deputy. I can even have badges made for us."

Roll #1 9 + 3 = 12

580591

"…Badges?"

580592

>>580591
I scrunch.
"Why not?"

580593

>>580592
"I wasn't-"
I gulp and start looking off in other directions as I detect offense in her voice.
"I wasn't saying they're a bad thing! I'm just curious why you got badges made!"

580594

>>580590
>>580591
Hopscotch:
The waitress seems much more alive after emerging from the back room with glasses full of juice and mead. She's passing them out as fast as possible.

"Here's your orders." She says as she plops down two cups on your table.

580595

>>580593
"I said I didn't featherhead. You've got to listen if you want to hunt bounties."

>>580594
Weird. I guess she knows she'll be getting a lot of tips.
I take a sip of my juice.

580596

>>580593
"She seems perky."

580597

>>580595
"Ooooh."

>>580594
"Huh? I didn't order anything. What's this for?"
I hold up the cup she (presumably) left for me.

580598

She put down the tray she was using and taps the floor a few times.

>>580595
It's got a strange after taste, but it's sweet enough.

>>580597
Smell Check.

580599

>>580598
Weird. I flag the waitress over.

He immediately starts charging towards the biggest group and slams them against the wall

#Torm and Gunhilda

It's really late now. You had to stay behind to make sure you were able to keep your servants with you instead of having them get shipped off with Obe into the prison.

There are a few people still up, mostly fisherman giving you strange looks while the police are being woken up to provide additional security.

580844

>>580843
Check on the girls.
"You all warm enough? Need anything?"

580845

>>580844
"No, we managed to take some of the blankets…"

Most of your servants are covering themselves under them in an effort to hide their pirate branding.

"You're the people who fought off those pirates, right?" One of the Fisher Dogs blurts out.

580846

>>580845

580848

>>580846
He could be. A lot of fishing gear could hurt a careless pony or dog, but he seems a little too focused on untangling his net.

"No, I wanted to offer myself to help you guys out. It's a good thing to clear out these seas and make 'em safe for folks like us."

>>580847
Except for bundling up for warmth, they're still in high spirits. The food was good for them.

580849

>>580848
Where are we? In my room?

580850

>>580849
Out in the dock. You've landed back in Perros de la Frontera, the starting town.

A couple of other sailors bring in some diving gear to their boat.

580851

>>580848
"Well… Thanks. I appreciate the offer."
Turn to the girls. "What do you say? Want to catch a ride?"
>>580849
"Well hello there, Gunhilda! Haven't seen you in a while."

580852

>>580851
"I was with you in the ship just now, wasn't I? But yes, nice to see you."

>>580850
Look at their boat.

580853

>>580851
They nod with various degrees of enthusiasm.

"It would be nice to be at sea without so many people."
"You did say we were going to sail away, right?"

>>580852
It's actually much more like a table that floats and carries weight. They might be headed to deep water, but not far off. They start bringing a few empty crates aboard as other ships start coming in.

580854

>>580853
"Well, then, my companions agree with me then. Mind if I ask where you're headed?"

580855

>>580854
"I'll be making my way north, following the local fish, up past Gallopili towards Capracorn. If you're looking for work still, you might be able to get another ride to Princessland and then back to the old world."

Two boats come in and start undocking.

580856

>>580855
"That sounds perfect. Thank you again for your generosity; I shall not soon forget it. Come on, girls, all aboard!"

580858

Fisher and Desmayo get on board, with Gravy taking up the rear.

The crates are empty. Looks like they'll be going out to sea to harvest some higher quality sea weed. People on these islands need to take advantage of any food they can find, even if they have to dive for it.

>>580857
"Sorry, this little boat can't go that far. But Grypharat should be setting itself up, you might catch a boat going back. If you keep heading north, Kestuties already has some major movement, might be a better bet."

One of the recently arrived sailors runs up to you after over hearing your conversation.

"Excuse me, you said you were from Phonshan, right?"

580859

>>580858

"You girls coming too, or you gonna wait for the next one?"
Have I been able to arm them at all?

580860

>>580858
Yes, what about it?

580861

>>580859
"Hey, we know not to crowd a boat all at once."
"Even the big boats have people come off one at a time."

As for arming them, not much. You just got them off the Pirate Hunting boat, they won't let them near any real weapons.

>>580860
"Just, my boss likes talking to Gryphons from there. Says he'll give us a bonus if we find someone from there. Wait here."

He trots off towards one of the small boats that landed, several more start docking themselves.

"Busy night," the Dog says.

580862

>>580861
"Well, come aboard then. Oh, and I just remembered…"
I ought, to have my old, regular sword still stashed away somewhere, right? If so, I 'll pull it out.

580863

>>580862
Yes. It's time for people to get off the boat, they're hauling all of your things. Who is going to get your old sword?

580864

>>580863
"Viatka? Remember when you 'loaned' me this? Well, it's about time you got it back."
Levitate the sword over to her.

580865

>>580864
"Are, are you sure? You're not worried I'm going to use it on you?"

580866

>>580865
"Why would I worry about something as silly as that? I trust you girls! Besides, the seas are dangerous these days."

580867

>>580866
"Yeah, they are." She says as she turns red a little with that remark. "I'll take good care of it."

Gunhilda
Singer - Unicorn Mage
Hat Magic: You can pull off amazing tricks with your hat. You conjure anything small enough to fit through the hat out of it, regardless of length. DC6 to pull out a generic object (e.g.: bouquet of flowers), DC8 to pull out a specific object (e.g.: the key to this door), DC10 to pull out an object wider than the hat. Rolling too soon for the same object after failing will cause failure regardless of roll because the universe catches wise to your tricks. Enchanted items can’t be pulled out.
Spell Resonance: Automatic Spell, Recharge 4; You may cast a spell you know Automatically, provided you have successfully cast it earlier in this combat. Normal spell recharge still applies.

Amadi - Zebra Knife Fighter
Stagger: Recharge 2; On success, in addition to damage, lowers the target’s maximum Hits by one. This effect is cumulative.
Sharpen: Once per combat, give one ally (or self) +1 to their weapon for the duration of the battle

Renish - Earthie Guard
Natural Remedy: recharge 1, ranged; Use an unpredictable tincture to fully restore a target’s hits to full and restore one wound, or removes status effects. Crit on 9+ restores 2 wounds, but crit fail on 2- deals a wound of damage.
Earthen Grasp: spell, recharge 1, ranged; summon vines, stones, or quicksand to trap an enemy and render them helpless. Large enemies may only be immobilized. Effect lasts until the enemy breaks free or is released.

Torm
Torm
[b]Citrine [Crystal Pony] She is in her 20's. She has stubby little legs and a portly stomach. She's blind, but what's left of her ears function fine.
Blind: recharge 1 after effect ends; temporarily blinds an enemy, giving a +2 bonus to all rolls targeting it for 2 turns
Rupture: weapon, recharge 1; on crit, deals a wound of damage to the target instead of removing hits. Targets that would have been rendered helpless by the blow are still rendered helpless as well.

Viatka [Unicorn Pony] Also in her 20's. She's from really far away, as you can tell by her now squeaky accent. Her eyes have an almond-y shape, and her snout is odd, in a cute way, because it's shorter than most. She isn't very brave, as she tends to hide for the most part.
Spellbreaker: recharge 2, spell, ranged; nullify a spell or magic effect
All Or Nothing: Recharge 1; When all else fails, use your head. Autocrits. All failures count as critical. Can be used while helpless.

Crawshay [Zebra] The Zebra with the shrinking potion is still trying to get away. Unfortunately, she tries to use only the things you give her, which resulted in her inflating like a balloon a few days ago. The Goat pushed her around a bit.
Polymorph: Spell, Recharge 5 after effect ends, Turns an enemy into a harmless creature that cannot cause counterattack damage for three turns. If it goes helpless or someone crit fails against it, the effect ends instantly. Can’t polymorph the same creature twice. Larger creatures might react differently.
Natural Remedy: recharge 1, ranged; Use an unpredictable tincture to fully restore a target’s hits to full and restore one wound, or removes status effects. Crit on 9+ restores 2 wounds, but crit fail on 2- deals a wound of damage.

>>583675

Arc an eyebrow at her. Which one is this again?
"So… you like making the bed. That wouldn't have anything to do with what we do on the bed, would it?"

583679

>>583678
"I just like how fresh they smell after I wash them, but you tend to leave a bit of a mess in them." Gravy says. "I'll get you a whole bunch so you can go through them."

583680

>>583679
"I like the sound of that." Nuzzle her gently. "And when I can, I'm going to get a big, luxurious bed, big enough for all of us plus guests, so you'll have plenty of sheets to wash, and a big comfy bed to sleep in. Does that sound nice?"
Turn to Citrine, Crawshay, and Viatka. "How did it feel, getting back in the action? You like it, or would you rather stay at home with them?"

583681

>>583680
"We can't say it didn't feel nice to rush in like that." Citrine says with a smile.

"I got to pound that guys face in. Forgot how nice it felt to use my hooves like that again." Viatka blurts out.

"I hope you don't mind if I start brewing a few more potions in preparation for the next one? If you have any requests for any special potions, I'll be willing to consider them." Crawshay says with a smile as she looks to the sky.

583682

>>583683

Don't I have those matching belts I bought from that store? Pass them out to the girls.

>>583684
Fisher helps Citrine put hers on, though the others are trying to size themselves up. Viatka expression turns a little sour as she reaches all the way to the last hole in the belt.

"I know some girls would have loved to use less…"

583686

>>583685
That means she's really thin, right?
"Well, maybe so, but most girls aren't supposed to have their ribs showing. I guess we'll have to fix that by stuffing you full of good food until you fill out a bit, won't we?"
Chuckle and give her a reassuring nuzzle.

583687

>>583686
She rubs herself against you.

"Yeah. Let's stuff ourselves and get in all the fights ever. I really didn't expect to wind up back where I'm started, but I'm glad it all worked out this way."

583688

>>583687
"Well, not quite back where you started. After all, now you've got me."
Embrace her, then give her flanks a squeeze as I breathe next to her ear.
"And rest assured," I breathe huskily, "I'm more than willing to stuff you full any night of the week. Over and over and over again…"
Give her ear a sly nip before pulling back and chuckling as I hold gravy close.
Damn, life is good.

#PAUSE

585680

The morning comes and brings along its own problems. The fights and scuffles that broke out within and around the town caused the populace to awaken to an even greater number of captured pirates. They celebrated as the prisoners were paraded and the crew was hailed as heroes, or at least those who remained.

Knox and Hopscotch acquired their own boat and have begun seeking bounties in the area. Despite being in close proximity, they still leave a few things up in the air.

Torm continues to travel with his servants, whose brands have been concealed bit by bit in all the lands they have visited. One would be hard pressed to uncover their status as former pirates, but few would be able to press the issue with a capable stallion nearby.

Gunhilda ventured a few of the islands of Caballeria before seeking passage back to Phonshan with her own students alongside her. Each of them chose to stay by her side, finding her to be a firm but kind Master who was teaching them things they never thought possible.

Klava managed to secure passage with her large stash of precious gems and faithful Breezy companion, C.C. Despite having no place to call home, they're content to not be alone and having plenty of options of where to go and what to do with the rest of their days.

Charlene is a constant fixture in numerous operations to keep the waters clear of pirates in Caballeria. Numerous countries seek having her in their employ, so much so that her servants often find themselves dealing with the contract offers more than helping her.

Magenta was greatly rewarded for her efforts in creating all manner of explosives. While this eventually led to two careers, one making powerful explosives for construction efforts, she was also notable for making so many varieties and colors of fireworks.
