And so begins a new adventure...
You find yourself alone, lost and confused in an unfamiliar place; all around you is woodland that stretches beyond your range of vision. You have no idea how you got here or even who you are!
You look down at yourself and you see what you amuse is just a normal human body, wearing casual clothes. You don’t know who you are or how you got here.
You examine your belongings. You aren’t holding anything or near anything that isn’t a tree. In your POCKETS you find:
None of this looks familiar to you.
You try to look around as best you can and get your footing. It's day time, as you see sunlight shining through the tree canopy. But you can't tell if its morning or afternoon.
The woods look the same in all directions. But you don’t want to stay here. You are DIRTY and SCARED and HUNGRY. You GO LEFT and hope for the best.
After wandering what feels like half an hour maybe, you hear shouting.
Yes, you understand the language in perfect... English? Yeah, you think that’s right.
Just the one voice as far as you can tell, sounds like a little girl.
"Help. Anypony please, help!"
Cautiously and carefully, you stalk up to the source of the commotion. From behind a bush, you spy an odd scene in a clearing.
At the base of this tree are TWO MULTICOLORED GOO THINGS, big globs of some ooze, moving on their own, trying and failing to climb the tree.
A few feet up the tree is... a pony. At least you think it is. A little bright colored pony, but it's... talking. Weird. It seems to be the one yelling.
"Anypony, please help!"
Neither the pony nor the slimy things seem to have seen you.
You really don’t want to deal with these slimy goo things, but you can't just leave that poor pony all alone like that.
You try to get as close as you can to the pony in the tree without being seen and try to get its attention.
"Hey! Little pony. Look, jump, I'll catch you!"
The pony sees you, and, seeing as it really doesn’t have a better choice, jumps to you!
You catch her, but just barely. She was a little heavier then you were expecting and you lose your footing. As you get your bearings, you see the two smiley creatures have focused their attention on you and are coming straight at you!
Pony in hand, you take off. You're strong enough to carry it, it's just that jump winded you a bit.
You take off away from these little goo things. You run in just a random direction trying to lose them. After a bit, it seems clear you've lost them. They're not so fast... or too smart.
You slow down to a more manageable pace and, as always, are still lost. The little pony in your arms seems scared, but ok.
You ask the pony is she's well enough to walk. She says she is, so you set her down next to you, but the both of you keep walking just in case those things sneak up on you.
"Thanks a lot mister! I don’t know what I would have done if you didn’t come along!"
You explain that its OK, you couldn’t have just left her there like that.
The pony goes on. "Oh no, you're a real hero! My name is Applebloom, what's yours?"
The pony caught you off guard asking you your name, as for the life of you, you can't remember a single thing about yourself, certainly not your name.
But you don’t want to look stupid, so you make up a name on the spot.
"My name is uh... Rusty Shackleford."
"It's a pleasure to meet you mister Shackleford!"
You ask little Applebloom how she got in such a situation and what those things were.
"Oh uh... that’s sort'ov a long story. You see, I was with with my friends and we thought it would be a fun idea if we went in to the Everfree Forrest. But... then I got lost and I got cornered by those SLIMES. If you didn’t come along I don't know what I would've done!"
You ask little Applebloom about her lost friends.
"I... I don’t know where they are!" She seems nearly in tears. "We were playing at the edge of the of the forest and we'd thought we'd just go in for a little bit but then we got lost and I lost both of them and I got stuck by those monsters and now I don’t know where they are and... and...!"
You cut off the frantic little pony. "Easy, calm down. We'll find you friends. Together."
Applebloom rubs her arms (leg?) on her nose noisily. "Oh thank you!"
The little pony hops forward and wraps her little legs (arms?) around one of your legs.
You give the little... pony... girl... a tussle on her head and ask her simply where she think she last saw her friends.
Applebloom looks in all directions, but seems completely unsure.
"I... uhh, I don’t know where we are. I've never been to this part of the Forrest before. We really shouldn’t be here!"
You don’t blame her. You're as lost as you were when you started. This whole wood looks the same to you in every direction.
You reassure little Applebloom and tell her you are going to climb a tree and try to get a fix on your location.
"Be careful!"
You tell her you will and start climbing the nearest tree. It's tough, the tree is pretty tall and you almost fall once. But eventually, your efforts are rewarded and you have an expansive view of the surrounding area.
As you thought before, it is clearly day time. From the position of the sun, you'd guess some time around noon, maybe after but that’s just a guess.
It's mostly trees all around. Trees, trees and more trees. But, you can see a clearing a bit to the NORTH and what you thing is some water. Maybe a lake or stream. Not far from that is some hills. Way to the EAST, you see some BUILDINGS way in the distance.
Below, Applebloom shouts up at you, asking what you can see.
You yell down to Applebloom what you see. She tell you that the BUILDINGS are probably PONYVILLE, the town where she and her fiends live.
You give the area another quick once over for memory then try to make your way back down the tree. When you reach the bottom, you talk with Applebloom.
"Well... the others can't be too far from PONYVILLE... I mean, that makes sense right? We'll probably find them if we go that way. Or at least we can get people in town to help look for them.”
You also ask her about the other places you saw.
"Me and the others have been to the lake before, but not the hills. I don’t know why they would go there."
It seems clear to the both of you the sensible thing is to go to town. Now that you have a semi-clear idea of where you are going, the two of you make quick work on your journey. After not too long, Applebloom says she knows where she is now and starts running ahead a bit. You pick up the pace to keep up with the little pony.
Along the way, there’s no signs of her friends or any other ponies, although there are a few rustling bushes that you both dart past.
Not much later, the woods eventually peter out and reveal open land, with a very prominent town not far away. "We're here! We made it back to Ponyville Rusty!" Applebloom is bouncing around in excitement and rushes ahead to the town.
Applebloom shoots out ahead of you and you run to keep up, knowing that she knows where she's going. It'll be nice to finally reach some civilization.
As the two of you enter town, it's pretty obvious it's... pretty desolate. There is no one in the streets. Market carts are left abandoned. The buildings all seem to be quiet. Applebloom is looking around confused. "Where is everypony?"
The two of you look about but there really doesn’t seem to be a soul around. Taking the initiative, you decide to go to a random house and just give it a knock.
Nothing. If there is anyone inside, they're going through a lot of trouble to keep quiet about it.
"Pssst! PSSST!"
You suddenly hear someone making a sound, and so does Applebloom. You both look at the house across the street. There's two other little ponies peeking out an open window, one white, one orange.
"Psssst, Applebloom! Come on, get inside!"
"There you two are! I thought you were both in the Everfr-"
"Shhh, hurry up and get away from the monster before gets you!"
The two of you walk over to these others, you keeping back a little, giving them a little cheeky wave.
"What the hay are you two going on about? This is Rusty, he saved me in the forest!"
"No, not that monster!" the white one says.
"THAT monster!" The orange one points, past both of you.
You are suddenly aware you are now in the shade... and can feel something close behind you.
Slowly, realizing what's going on, you and Applebloom turn in unison and, not three feet away from you, is a HUGE CUBE OF JELLY. It's huge, almost as big as one of the houses in town! How did something like this sneak up on you so quietly!?
You quickly fumble in your pocket for the little knife you have! Even as you do, the cube makes its way to you, going much faster then you'd think something like that would go! Behind you, you hear Applebloom yell and some commotion.
The jelly cube is almost up on you!
Ok yeah, you are clearly out of your league here. This is a monster, a REAL honest to goodness monster. You have knife in hand, but do you see this freaking this? IT'S HUGE! No sir, this isn’t happening!
You heel face turn as the jelly cube glides to you, and as you do, you see the two other little ponies pulling in Applebloom in through the window. You boost her in and then jump in behind her, one of the other ponies slamming the window close behind you, the other locking it.
The four of you are sitting on the floor, just as the jueely monster reaches the house. It bangs into it at full force, making a heavy, icky sound, messing the window a little and knocking some dust lose from the ceiling. The little ponies all yell.
You try the lock yourself. The door won't budge.
"Why? WHY WOULD ANYONE LOCK THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE!"
"Aaah, it's getting in!"
Over your shoulder, you see the jelly thing has broke the window you came through and is OOZING its way in. On top of that, its also coming in through the bottom of the front door.
"Ok, stand back little ponies!"
The three others all give you a wide birth as you give the door a good solid kick... but it still won't budge!
Yeah this isn’t happening. This door is someones cruel joke for this exact situation.
"What is with this door?!"
You quickly look around and, in an adjacent dinning room, there’s a window. And what luck, it's open!
"Ok go! Go go go go go!"
You take each little pony at a run and throw them each out the window unceremoniously. You go to follow, but are stopped mid jump, with a terrible burning sensation at your left ankle. Looking down, you see the jelly monster has stretched itself across the house and has hold of you! You're not sure what it's made of but it sure hurts!
Ow damn it ow OW! This thing stings like nothing else!
Still prone on the floor, you crawl yourself to the window, trying to pull out your little pocket knife as you go. Once you reach the wall, you turn and start hacking at the jelly!
Good for you it's stretching itself so thin! You cut it off yourself easily enough. The jelly arm reels back from the attack, releasing you.
"Hold on, we're coming." You hear from the window above you, just as you feel on the the ponies bite your hair. "HOKAY! UULLL!"
They start trying to yank you up to the window themselves. They're tearing at your scalp ow ow owowo wow ow! Ow ow ow ow you can feel hair being pulled out ow ow!!!
Despite the pain in your ankle, you just sand up. The pony is still biting you head. You crawl out the window on your own, bringing the pony with you. Turns out all three of them were trying to pull you out at once.
Now that you're outside again, you see that the jelly has not on penetrated the house, its also oozing all around it! Even as you get your bearings, it's starting to make its way over the room and over the sides towards you!
